He's a great professor, and makes you want to go to class! As long as you do your assignments you'll do great!

Jason is an amazing teacher! He keeps the class interesting and has a great sense of humor. I took him for PSY 101 as well and he teaches both classes amazingly. Probably the best psychology professor at NAU. If you ever get the chance take one of his classes! He will make you fall in love with psychology.

Jason is an amazing teacher. If you show up to class, take notes, and do the assignments you will be fine. There's study guides and this semester he did review videos which really helped me a lot! Tests aren't too bad and assignments are very simple. ASK! If he doesn't know the answer he will research it and get back to you the next class session.

Gives you an outline of how things are graded and was super easy to get 100%'s. you only have to do a few of the assignments given, you get to pick and choose. he also provides Extra Credit points or u can use them as late vouchers. for a 5 week course. He is very strict on plagiarism but all his quizzes are on quizzlet. every single Q.

Jason is an amazing professor. He basically lays out everything for you, how the class will be run, and what he expects. This is an easy class if you stay on top of your work and go to class.

Didn't particularly enjoy the class, but Jason was by far the best teacher I could've asked for over the other psych professors. He wants to help his students in any way he can and is very open to suggestions. My biggest advice is to just show up. If you show up to class, you won't even need your text book.

I took Jason's Honors Psychology 101. I was expecting to be a little bored considering it is a 101 class, however he always made lectures interesting. He cares a lot about his students and works hard to make sure everyone is accommodated. This is an extremely easy class because of how great of a teacher he is.

Jasons PSY101 class is set up in a way that makes it impossible for students to fail! The textbook reading is fairly easy, the tests are easy to be prepared for, and the lectures are very entertaining. If you go to class and do the assignments, there is no way one wont pass the class. MY MOST FAVORITE PROFESSOR EVER. He hands down is the greatest and relates all information in lecture to the real world and brings in props to help with explaining and understanding. You do have to study for his tests, but if you study, they are easy. He is an example of a true professor who cares about his students and their success.

Everything people say about Jason is absolutely true. The class size was daunting, but he makes it less so with humor and personal connection. There's almost weekly quizzes, the online textbook cost $70 and you need to study for the 4 exams. I wrote 3.5 page paper. But none of these assignments were too hard, and I'm glad I took the course.

Jason is AN AMAZING prof. He makes the lectures entertaining and interesting. As long as you always remember to bring your iClicker to class and finish the LearnSmart in time, it's an easy A. I suggest taking physical notes over using his note taker as it makes the lecture more understandable. The exams are also easy as long as you pay attention.

AWESOME prof. He does give a decent amour of homework but they are very doable and make up a sizable portion of the points In the class. The tests are fine, you can get a high B after one night of studying for most of them. He is knowledgable in his field and keeps up to date in advances in the field, so is VERY knowledgable in his field.

If you have to take PSY 255 take it with Jason! I promise you it's worth it! He makes the material fun and applicable and I learned so much from this class! He also gives very detailed study guides, so exams were relatively easy. There's five exams, ten Perusall assignments, four writing assignments, and two projects, but it was all doable and fun!

Jason is an amazing lecturer! There are a handful of assignments but they are very quick to complete and theres about 1 a week through Connect. Make sure to show up, you are only allowed 2 free absences for the semester until it affects your grade. The exams are very easy and he provides an outline for all the class notes, and a final study guide.

The online version of this class was very intense with a heavy workload. He is very organized and I liked the fact that the final exam was the module quizzes added together. The most important thing to do is taking notes on the required content.

I took his online ed & career planning psych online class, only lasted half a semester & was super easy! he outlines everything well so you know when things are due & provides many resources! you have plenty of time for his easy online assignments. He is also very helpful with any questions you have and responds to emails quickly. Great professor!

If you want to take PSY101 take it with Jason! He's hilarious, caring, understanding, and respectful. He's big on communication, so if you ever have something where you can't make class, email him! His lectures are so awesome and he really gives you time to fully take in the information, a lot of tests have questions that repeat from past exams!

He understands that a lot of people are just taking psy 101 as a means to earn some liberal arts credits so he makes sure its easy to get a good grade and you can focus on your other classes.

His lectures were fairly interesting but he usually has a lot of students in his class so it sometimes hard to ask questions. Also, if you have a question that he already answered he will get a little irritated so it is best to listen completely during the lectures.

Now this is a class where each session you leave with actually learning something! A great professor, even at first he seems stuck up. He is serious in what he does jobwise, but the lectures is where it is at. Assignments are straight forward, take notes for test, and boom you get an A without really trying. Try to participate weekly for a grade!

Psy 101 was probably one of the classes I knew I was going to fail but in fact passed with an A. Whetten is a great progress or his lectures are interesting and definitely helps you retain information. There was a pretty hefty amount of reading but the class was definitely worth it.

Whetten is such an easy-going professor. The in-class tests are easy if you study, and his lectures are entertaining!

Lots of busy work, lectures are easy to follow, allows test corrections for 1/2 points back. Overall very easy class w a good prof, just a lot of little assignments

He has fun, interesting, and interactive lectures. While attendance is technically mandatory he is very understanding of taking mental health days, you just have to fill out a simple form. You actually have to study for tests but they're cumulative and if you get a better score on the next one it replaces the score from the previous one. Love him.

The class overall is very easy if you complete the weekly assignments and study for the tests. He accepts late work all semester and you have the option to retake every quiz. Although attendance is mandatory, he is very understanding and allows excuses. Most importantly, he has a unique way of making you feel included, even in a 400-person class

Amazing teacher!

He is super understanding and will work with you if you need to miss class, he genuinely wants you to learn the material and allows you to turn in test corrections for exams. Lectures are rarely boring because he makes them enjoyable and interesting.

Jason was my favorite professor this past semester. He is a fun prof that knows what he is doing. He genuinely cares about his students and what they have going on in their lives. The class is super easy as long as you follow along with his note packet.

His lectures are always engaging and he sets up guided notes so you don't have to write your own, and they cover everything that he puts on quizzes and exams. Expect 2-4 assignments per week, all of which should take less than a couple of hours. Ask questions and go to his office hours. I would take this class every semester if I could.

This professor is truly passionate about what he teaches and it is very evident through his assignments and lectures. He is very flexible with office hours and has numerous teacher aids to help you out throughout the course.

It is very fast moving but I think that he does a really good job of keeping up with the material and answering all/any questions anybody has so that they fully grasp the material. All exams are in person so be prepared for that but he does make up assignments where you can earn half points back on your exams. This was super nice.

Super funny and a great teacher. Every week you have to annotate a textbook chapter which is tedious and annoying but can be done in 30min. Exams (4 total) are online and open note. The class was 650 people which made it somewhat difficult to learn. Print out the notes that he provides!

Jason is a great professor. I know nobody in my class of 650 students who thinks otherwise. However, I will say that I was in Jason's as well as NAU's first class of this size and that is the only part I wouldn't recommend. I was able to pass the class and enjoy my time, but it definitely made it less personal and less memorable.

Not a lot of homework, but LOTS of extra credit opportunities. I took it in a lecture hall with 600 other students and he still made an effort to include all of us. Kind of just a show up and do your homework class. Exams are online and open note. USE THE NOTES HE PROVIDES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMESTER!! He's funny and entertaining. Easy A.

If I could take every psych class with Jason I would. He is great at explaining psychology in a way you can understand. He is very caring and funny. Everyone I know loves him and his class. Use the fill in notes he gives during lectures and use them for tests. There are a few assignments a week but they aren't hard just time consuming. THE BEST!

I took Jason for PSY255 and 101 and he was absolutely fantastic both times I was in his class! He's super respectful of all of his students and peers and really listens to what everyone has to say while also explaining everything during his lectures in a really fun and engaging way. He really cares about us students and he's slay.

My class was 700 kids, however, he was a great teacher. So funny. So much learned in a short period of time and he did it so well. Lecture notes were mandatory and very useful towards exams. Alot of reading for assignments that are long, but it is very interesting.

I cannot recommend this professor enough! Jason is extremely caring and makes psychology fun and interesting, even if it's not your major. He stresses the importance of inclusivity in psychology and the textbook he provides for you for free, online. He also talked about the psychology research participation system (sona) which I thought was cool.

Whetten is a great professor, moves at fast pace and prefers notes on paper. Laptops are not allowed in class but lecture has 650+ students so it's hard to prevent. Quiz every week, total of 2-3 research projects, "textbook" is online every week ranging from 16-35 pages with annotations, and additional quizzes about topics not included in lecture.

He offers extra credit and to boost quiz grades if you go to office hours. However, despite large classes attendance is tracked and he does pop quizzes (you can talk to neighbors and use notes but still stressful).

I highly recommend this class, it was my favorite of the semester and wish I could have him as a teacher again. There are quizzes in the class every 2 weeks-ish they can be challenging but office hours allows you to make up points, it's not detrimental to your grade. All of the lectures are open notes, partner and recourses. So make sure you take notes. Also at office hours he gives you an automatic 100 on any test. Which is amazing!

Loved this class, he loves teaching, you can tell. Most classes are very lecture heavy but he does provide notes for you to follow along and fill out. Readings arent that bad either. Very big class but there are multiple TAs to help. Very easy to ask questions in that class.

Jason's class was a great credit to add while taking harder classes. Lectures & tests are easygoing just like Jason. A few papers & assignments but overall small workload & low time commitment. Would recommend for an easier elective credit. To be successful I recommend not procrastinating, going to class, & taking advantage of extra credit.

Before I even took his class, I had heard good things about Jason, and I wasn't disappointed. He's really funny and cares about your well-being as a student. He does lecture a lot but makes sure it's interactive which I appreciate. My advice would be to do those Research and Media papers plus the SONA credits early!

Wow I loved this class SO much. If you have the opportunity to take this class you wont regret it. Prof Whetten is hilarious and he makes going to lecture so enjoyable. I would 100% take this class again because he made psych funny, meaningful, and serious all at the same time. I can't say enough good things about this class and this professor.

Every class is essentially just a lecture but they're always super interesting and funny. He doesn't let you use computers to take notes but that didn't bother me because I was always entertained with his lectures. There's not a lot of homework and tests are always open note. There is a textbook but its free. I would highly recommend this class!

Take him. He's hilarious and if you get points off on exams you can go in to office hours and get points back. Literally so easy.

i know why people say such good things about jason he truly lightens the mood with heavy topics and he cracks so many jokes every class! i never fail to smile in his class. he is very exam heavy with an exam every other week and they are cumulative, but it's open note open neighbor which is a huge help!

Jason is super funny & very flexible. He only wants the best for his students. His lectures are super fun & interactive. Even though attendance wasn't mandatory, I still loved showing up. I definitely recommend taking him! The exams are open note & open neighbor which is a definite plus. Everything is super straightforward. This class was great!

With the 101 class being so big, he finds ways to make it interesting and funny. Everything he does is online, and while it is technically in class, you can check in from anywhere and do it. Would definitely take this class if you need something easy and fun.

Amazing professor and class. Class size is a little daunting, but he lectures so well that it doesn't feel like a 600-person class. Very light homework load, but I still learned so much!

Jason is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. Although the lectures are long, he makes them very engaging and interesting. He was so many resources available to everyone and makes sure that everyone feels included in the class.

jason was hands down such a great professor. He cared so deeply about all of his students and was always there for all of us. you can tell he really wants you to pass his class. Hes also super hilarious and is such a kind person. if I could take his class over again i totally would.

Favorite class hands down, Jason's pretty chill and class is pretty easy. With ~600 kids in the class it's a little overwhelming but the atmosphere is amazing.

This class was so easy and fun. The professor was such an interesting character and was super chill. As someone whose schedule was filled with different classes, this was like a breath of fresh air. Assignments were easy, class was interesting, and attendance was not mandatory.

I absolutely LOVED this class. Jason is very engaging and truly cares about his students. Even though attendance wasn't necessarily mandatory, I loved going to class. It was super interesting and fun to learn about. Easy class and amazing teacher - highly recommend.

Jason is an amazing professor who really makes learning Psychology fun. The textbook is free and online, used once a week meant to be read on your own time. The assignments are easy, and the lectures are very interesting. Jason makes the science of Psychology incredibly easy to understand and is always there to help you.

Jason has a reputation of being amazing, and he's earned it. His lectures have about 650-700 people each class and he really knows how to make sure everyone is learning. He is super funny and class is engaging. Exams are open note & open neighbor. He provide an outline of which notes are most important to take so that exams are easier.

Love this guy! I enjoy his lectures but also because I'm interested in it anyways but he makes it more interesting and fun! Everything was very easy and he made it easy sometimes there would be workload but its all good because it is not at all that difficult!
