As long as you do the work, you're okay. He was pretty helpful, although... he is a bit sarcastic.

I'm starting to think he had a split personality after reading these comments. Take him at night, he even says he is nicer then. He was great, very helpful and encouraging. He will make you work hard, but this is college, you're supposed to.

I took him at a J/C for 3 classes - one of my best profs ever. he went from easiest prof ever to very challenging in lit above 101 level. overall good guy.

VERY COOL GUY, Very good teacher. not too hard, not too easy, regular college english. if u work ur ass off you'll get what u deserve. i got a C, no complains, i failed every single quiz, my fault. wrote a paper on FIGHT CLUB!

He is very outgoing, very moody at times. The Anaheim Angels always gets him going. He knows what he is talking about and always emphasizes the key points in his assignments. Very funny, jokes around half the time. Not too hard, but not too easy either.

He's an ok teacher. He is sarcastic. The whole FIGHT CLUB thing was just too confusing for me. He does grade essays kind of hard.

He was AWESOME. Not only a great teacher, but a cool guy. He was really understanding with personal problems and goes out of his way to help...if you ask! Essays are complex, but interesting. Its not the same crap as in other ENG classes, he gives you freedom to think and express...I loved him!!

I thought he was a good teacher.....he really tries to help his students if you ask him......lol he made me write a stupid paper about why he shouldnt drop/fail me, my fault....got a C in the end so hes not too bad...take his class and do the work, thats all!

Um his class is very easy. Attendence is very important. Be read to participate in class discussion. If you want to pass without doing much, take his class.

Jason Witt... totally professional, pay attention and don't get off task.. he means what he says and has no time to waste...do the journals and responses... don't miss ANY assign essays because he won't pass you. He don't like excuses so don't try that... go to ALL the required writing center mtgs in order to get credit for the class...GOOD LUCK!!

he is an awesome guy. he's a very smart man and a great teacher. he grades essays hard but you get to rewrite one at the end if you want to. always come prepared to discuss the outside readings. he gets really mad if ppl didnt read

A really down-to-earth casual guy when teaching, although moody at times. Be sure to read what he assigns and participate in the numerous in-class discussions that will be bound to happen. He really grades essays thoroughly so your really going to have to put quite an effort to do well. If you excel in essay writing, you should do fine.

Great guy...really funny and chill, but he grades you to the highest standard. Many of my classmates including me got mostly C's on the papers.Good teacher hard grader!!! Beware

Man is a stone cold badass. Best teacher I've ever had. He's hard, he grades tough, and he expects alot of his students, but this is what all good teachers should do. I've learned more from his one class than I did from an entire semester of college.

Very articulate, smart, intelligent, deep, sarcastic!, frank, and real! He goes over very important topics that our society today doesn't find as impactful. For english majors? Take hiM!!!! great guy , very funny and understanding. At first he plays the intimidator, but toward the end, it wa all bluff and hes really cool.

He is very sarcastic, but funny! I havent finished his class yet but I'm hoping I do better than okay. He's hot, and I call him Professor Hott when I speak of him to my friends. =]

He is funny and sarcastic and like to have a conversation. But this guy is really hard, tough grader. any in class room discussions kinda interoggate if u wanna participate. don't take this teacher, if u want an A or B, do try this teacher.

He's a great teacher and a very intelligent person. Definitely wants his students to improve and doesn't settle for half-ass work. Comes off as a jerk at first but is really a great guy as long as his students are performing well. Don't judge after your first class! He's a great guy and really interested in his students learning.

Witt was a great professor! He has a very sarcastic sense of humor, but he's hilarious! A lot of people think he's a jerk, but that's just his personality. Attendance is SUPER important, and I would HIGHLY advise going to his office hours. He is soooo helpful and genuinely cares about his students. I highly recommend taking his class

This class was easy as long as you do the small readings every other night. All he wants is for you to open up and express your thoughts. Gave a lot of time for essays so use it.

Witt is probably the tightest professor I had this semester. Definitly a challenging class but it is worth it. He wants his stundents to participate and share their thoughts. For difficult grader.I am not the best writer and managed to do well.Do Not Procrastinate it will bite you in the butt! 3 writing projects, easy prompts. Over all good teache

His class in itself was not challenging. As far as the work load goes, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. He gives you a large amount of time to complete writing projects so use it wisely. He does expect alot out of students, but he wants the best for each of them. Make sure to read what he assigns, they are interesting. I would recommend his class.

He is a good professor. I did not like the class too much. He just wants everyone is class to read, do their writing projects and do well. Class discussions were the best, never expected everyone to share the same opinion. He can come out as a jerk but he is a good professor. I would recommend his class.

He's not easy. He grades hard, & it seems like he tries to nit-pick things. But he sincerely tries to help. His papers are projects and takes a long time to complete. Other then that, he assigns readings every night and you discuss them in class -- really interesting. A lot of his classes, are just talking about the readings.

Definitely not the easiest teacher in the world but I managed an A. He genuinely cares about his students and wants to hear their opinions. If you are looking for an english class you can breeze through this isn't it, but if you want an enriching experience you won't regret your decision.

He grades the essays pretty hard, but the class was fairly easy. Read articles and show up for discussions basically, which can be pretty fun depending on how much each class participates.

Witt is really cool , he's funny sarcastic and will never tell you that he agrees with you but you can just tell by the look he gives you whether he does or not . He is a really cool teacher , he teaches how to write but remember we're college students so its on us to expand what he teaches ! I would take him again!

Hardest class I have taken,however I do not regret taking Witt whatsoever. MUST do the readings, they are discussed every class session and are the topics of the three papers. He grades VERY hard. DO attend his office hours for him to review your papers before submitting them, I did so and passed with an A! He's a great man to converse with as well

FIVE ESSAYS. That's all he takes for your final grade. The last paper had to be at least 15 pages long.. Attendance and participation are very important, and the class is in a discussion form. I struggled a lot because I was never good at writing from the beginning...

One of the best teachers I have had at CSUF. It is not an easy class but definitely one worth taking. 5 essays,all on the same subject. 4 of those essays range from 3-10 pages while the last essay is just a compilation of them all. You must do all the readings but it is worth it because you can then have interesting discussions in class. Recommend!

Interesting Guy with a little humor that may not be for all . Class was a fun , open, discussion type setting . Attendance and participation go hand on hand . Tough grader but gives feed back , 5 essay , You can do it !

Overall, great professor. On the first day of class he says that he will grade the papers hard. Values participation and attendance. Great guy with a fantastic sense of humor, you will never get bored. Be ready to spend a lot of time on your papers and it will pay off at the end.

He is a really cool professor. You really need participate in order to get full points. The final is just an essay that you can prep for the night before. Essays are kind of long but it's an easy class overall.

Witt's straight-forward with what he wants. Class time is used to discuss what you read the night before and in the end you write essays based on the reading. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He is very helpful and provides clearcut help. Class's full of dumb kids who don't read his ratings to avoid his class so don't expect good classmates to help you out.

Great professor overall. He is one of the very few professors in the entire campus to take his time to memorize the entire class's names, which makes the class feel more personal. He has a great sense of humor. A total of 5 papers (3 outside class, 2 in class) and a manageable amount of reading. Class mostly insists on discussions.

Class is pretty straight forward. 6-7 reflective journal entries, 6-7 homework assignments and 4 papers. You pick a research topic and build it up with each paper until the final one which is 15 pages. His name is pretty accurate. He can be a witty and sarcastic guy, but it's all in good fun. Very approachable and gives good feedback on papers.

This class was tough but if you ask Jason for help & participate you'll be fine. The readings are usually easy and pretty short. Your journal entries and class discussions are based on them but sometimes you can get away with skimming it. There were about 3-4 papers, he gave a lot of time and was always available for help during office hours.

Being online for this class wasn't so bad. Professor Witt is very caring and explains very thoroughly during lecture. You have 4 papers in total that build off of each other. Professor Witt also grades the papers fair, but you can't slack off on them. We also had a group project that isn't bad as long as your group pulls the weight.

One of the easiest classes one will take. Typically every class there is a discussion based off of one of the readings assigned. Throughout the semester there will be discussion posts, peer reviews, and a few journals based off of book questions. Besides that there will be 4 writing assignments. NO FINAL. Overall excellent class.

The essays may be difficult, but Jason is a great professor and gives great feedback. Many classes are discussion-based and enjoyable

He was an awesome professor and I learned so much from him. Every time we had class it was just a big group discussion on articles that we would read. There was barely any homework besides our readings. Make sure you check his announcements regularly because he uses that a lot. He is a fun professor and wants to relate and connect to his students

great english professor from a freshman in college! he wasnt that hard and was super chill. only downside was the fact that there was a lot of papers but the books he assigned to read are not boring. in fact a lot of what is required to read, hes also very handsome, is very interesting and you will learn a lot! In general i recommend this proff.

Professor Witt is great if you participate in class and do the readings. He is a bit of a harsh grader; I wouldn't take him unless you think you're a strong writer. The topics/readings are interesting but can sometimes be a bit dense. He provides a lot of specific feedback, which will help you grow if you put in the effort in this class.

He's a good teacher if you semi participate and skim through reading. Many students complain but the truth is that they don't work hard for a good grade. He had 6 assignments; 2 journal entries and 4 essays. He's strict on grading but his detailed feedback greatly help on the final drafts. The work is time consuming and somewhat challenging.

His charisma and ability to teach effectively kept me in the class. Everything about workload and grading is true. Was in the 99th percentile for the class and barely had an A- so be prepared to write and revise. He is very understanding and cares deeply for his students. He helped me become a better writer. We need more teachers like him.

4 essays and 2 sets of journal entries consisting of readings needed for class discussion. Grades well and gives feedback for how to improve. Allows you to fix your essays in order to receive a higher grade.

He's very slow to respond to emails (or just doesn't respond). Tough grader but he leaves a lot of feedback and allows revisions on the essays. No +/-, just solid letter grades. Participation matters a ton, so speak up when you can. He's not bad, but his class can be kinda tough.

Professor Witt is an instructor who is clearly passionate about his job. We did 3 essays and 2 journals throughout the course, and you are also graded for participation. Upon receiving my third essay back after being graded, he told me that I did not have to take the Final, which is also an essay. Overall, he gives useful feedback for your essays.

There is a whole alot of reading that goes on in this class, souch so that he expects you to read the chapter in the book so that way the next class you can discuss it. The essaies do get harder, but, he does give you an opportunity to go and make corrections them to get a better score. The discussions can get interesting, so be prepared. He's nice

So far my fav professor. He's really chill, caring, and funny. I usually can't focus well during lectures, but his are very engaging, his charisma makes them fun and interesting. He does assign a lot of readings though, but as long as you keep up its nothing difficult. Four essays, but he gives a good amount of time to do them. Gives great feedback

I really enjoyed the feedback he gives on papers and he's always willing to help you if your struggling with writing and point you in the right direction. While he is a tough grader, if you need insight or help don't be afraid to go see him during office hours because he will help you to achieve a better grade.
