I've taken statistics before, but he makes the material *so much* more understandable. He also teaches at OIT, and has a background in industry; I think he's top-shelf, and you'd be lucky to have a math class with him. Also teaches trigonometry.
Very knowledgable. Has years of industry experience. Great teacher

He was an excellent instructor. He would at times be aloof to how hard the problems were because he is so advanced. He always gave us the easy ways to do problems. I wish I could take hime for MTH 253
I have had Javad for both math and electronics classes. He is an incredibly intelligent individual who is a great mathematician. He is great at instructing math. He is also a great electronics instructor, although sometimes goes over the students head.
he is a really good math teacher, he explanes everything clearly. I hope to have him for future math classes.
Awsomeness at it's finest
Very patient and helpfull, made statistic bearable. You can't not get a good grade in his class.
he is a very good teacher, i would recommend him for math, he makes it easy and clear. i hope to have him again in math.
I had him for two classes this term and they both rocked. He goes out of his way to help you learn the subject. He only teaches what you need to know and doesn't take himself too seriously so he teaches at your level. He made differential equations easy!
take javad if you want an easy A. he taught vector calculus by photocopying a textbook and reading it on the overhead. if you pay attention you will learn the quick way to do everything, but if you're a major (or have interest in math as an art form) he's not for you. for some courses his lectures were really interesting though.
Very clear and moderately funny. Of course Math 111 is easy as hell so this isn't saying much, but I'm looking forward to taking 241 with him next term.
Only there for the students who already know what they are doing
Ohmigod! I love this guy..he should teach all the electronics classes.. I had him with two difficult class but he made it very easy...He's clear, understanding and funny!!
He confuses the hell out of me... he needs to slow down and not go off on tangents... he is a nice guy but only wants to be there for the students who already understand what he is teaching and as for those who are a bit slower in math, i think he could care less if they have to take the class for a second term... i highly dislike him...
He talked more about politics than math. If you love Goerge Bush then this is your teacher.
His class lectures were easy to understand and I easily got A's on every test. He doesn't care if you come to class and doesn't collect half the hw, but asks that you do it. I recomend his class.
Would not recommend Javad for Mth 70. He might be a bit more suitable for advanced math classes. I strongly recommend Mike Peterson for Mth 70 though, he's awesome!
Statistics doesn't come much easier than this. Allows full open notes and book on all tests. Claims he will collect homework eventually, but he never does. Great professor. Saves you time by skipping the BS and going straight to the meat and potatoes of elementary stat.
I was worried about this class before taking it. Javad made it a breeze.
Mr. Farjami is a splendid instructor. This is a no BS class, he gets to the point in a clear and concise way. Presents the material in a way which makes it easy to do well. Don't expect to be babied though; this isn't High school. He tells great stories, he's funny and always has good advice for students. Can't recommend him enough. A++ for Javad.
A great teacher if you already know what he is teaching, if not, take someone who explains better, he expects everyone to already know how to do it.
Best math teacher I've ever had. He is easy going, comical, and does all he can to get student to pass. Not an easy class to fail. He is a bit scarey at first by his speed and to the point attitude, but worth it to stick with him for the whole term.
He's very easy to understand and gives pretests almost identical to the tests. He lets you USE ALL NOTES on the tests and is VERY understanding. I would definitely recommend taking his classes!
Needs to tune in more to students. No one seemed to ask questions, but many seemed confused. Not very approachable.
come to class and you'll be fine. This is the only instructor to take statistics from not the asian lady. All tests are open book and open note. If you don't get an A in this class you need to leave college at start your career at Mcdonalds.
Good teacher. Easy homework, lets you use notes on tests.
All the instructors in the indepenent study are excellent. They are relaxed and patient. There are self-discipline issues with the independent studies, but if you have to be in a particular frame of mind to learn math it's perfect. The book is excellent. Help is always available.
hard to understand and does not clarify anything
He is an alright teacher, but really hard to understand. I would only suggest taking his class if you already know the subject really well. Otherwise you will be lost and everyone is scared to ask questions in his class because he gets angry when you do.
Javad is a studly ex-disco dancing math genious. He grades fairly, as long as you show up to class.
Great class, must attend cover what is needed for class.
I took both Stats classes & Math 111 from Javad and I LOVED STATS because of him!!! He's such a great teacher - really funny, teaches you the EASY WAY TO DO THINGS - he'll say "Well, the book says to do it this way, but here's how to do the shortcut on the calculator" --- I LOVE HIM - There needs to be more teachers like him out there!!!!
likes to prove that he can solve the problems, but doesn't actually show us how to solve them on by ourselves.
I love his style of teaching and he is very clear. I do not know what people are talking about when they say that they cannot understand him because his accent is not so strong that he has to repeat himsef. I would hihly recommend him as an instructor to anyone!
Not a very good teacher. He doesn't like to show any work. He also does not know how to grade papers...so check over his grading!!! Like to talk about how his dorm neightbors smoked the refer. He is very smart, but so smart that he does not know how to teach the material. All of what I learned I had to teach myself. Only caters to some students.
His accent makes him a little hard for me to understand but I barely passed college algebra, then turned around and literally almost ACED this class! He grades very fair, but I noticed he only helps the students that really participate in class. Shows shortcuts not in the book and made math VERY easy to understand. Would highly recommend to anyone!
He's a sassy little rascal of a mathmatition. I enjoy watching every move he makes, and because of that, learning is a thrill like no other!
I like him. not that it matters, but he seems kinda fruity. His jokes aren't that funny which usually means he's smart. yeah, i should learn how to stand a little more masculine. again, not that it matters. by the way, i friend allan k. who goes to western has a thing for him. so, javad. actually no. I will not ask what i think you already know i'm
He was difficult to understand at first, due to a strong accent, which made me nervous because it was a difficult subject that I knew nothing about. However, as I got to understand him better, I found him to be a really good teacher. He didn't grade on attendence, but it was needed to understand.
Javad is hard to understand and moves fast through his class. Regular attendance is crucial, but I liked this class. His reviews are specific to what will be on the test. Just make sure you take notes in class!
His Accent is not bad at all. He is teaching well & give you good tips. If you don't read the book, and don't try anything. You will get lost in the class too. He gives take home tests. His questions not hard, and grades very fairly. He is the greatest math instractor I had. His class is not boring, and it is really relaxing. Answers questions.
His accent is so strong that he cannot be understood well all the time. he get's frustrated when people have questions, as if he can't understand why they don't just get it. he organizes his material in such a weird way it is difficult to study notes later.
If you want an easy 'A' take this class! I was scared before entering stats class, i have never taken any, he made it very easy. Make sure to come to class everyday though, miss a day miss a lot.
Javad Rocks! He is very straight forward and gets to the point but he is easily the most knowledgable math professor I've taken thus far. He makes a hard class easy! His accent is tough to understand at first but you get it after a couple class periods no problem. DO NOT SKIP HIS CLASS. Like said before, you miss one you miss alot!
Very fast paced teacher. He is funny and nice but If you miss a day you are falling way behind.
He is super smart and doesn't always expain the steps to an answer.
Javad is an incredibly smart guy. He teaches at a fast pace, but will stop if you ask and go over things. He can be a little intimidating, but is actually very friendly. Hid random jokes interjected throughout the class are quite amusing. If you go talk to him about your tests, he'll usually bump them up a few percent. He's a good teacher.
He is very smart! I'm not very good at math so this class was a hard for me. His accents was hard for me to understand and he is very fast paced. If you have questions BE SURE TO ASK! He will explain, although he gets a little frustrated. Also, very important to show up for class. He only grades you on 3 test and final though so that was a bummer
I enjoyed him as a teacher. He is fast paced and skips little steps which throws some people off. U have to really pay attention and study outside of class to be successful.
His accent is thick and he goes really fast. He does the math on the board fater than I could write it down! The harder the section the faster he went! He does have a good sense of humor that makes the class a little easier. I would advise this teacher to someone is has a good handle on the subject.
When explaining, he goes very quick and uses more steps than necessary to complete a problem. This class was easy for me since it was review but if I had not known the material, I would have struggled. The only positive was that you did not need to do homework and the reviews for tests were almost identical to the actual tests.
For me the accent was completely understandable. This is one smart guy and he was a fantastic teacher. I only wish I had him for 111 (his schedule and mine did not work), overall, I would reccomend him to even people like myself who have struggles with math. Also he had a great attitude and very nice!!
Funny and easy going. Lectures are fun and will help to to understand if you don't get it. Fairly easy class, tests are two-days.
Very easy class. Must be there everyday or you will get confused, especially towards the end. Makes stats look easy. Makes up problems off the top of his head, which sometimes don't work which makes it extremely hard to follow, and sometimes he will start over, so don't write in pen! You never have to use the textbook, and final is open book!
Super easy teacher. Kind of confusing lectures, but it was MTH256 which is confusing in itself. All his tests were take home and you had a week to do it. . He didn't really grade on if you got the right answer or not, for most problems, just if you showed your work and were doing the right steps.
Javad is funny; every class he says something hilarious. He doesn't grade particularly hard. He is smart but he doesn't alwasys explain how to solve problems in the best way. The exams are take home and are fairly easy.
Javad was a great teacher. He's super smart and is really great at summarizing the lesson. If you take notes in his class you'll totally get it.
Great professor! Easiest person to learn math from! Took just about all his math classes at OIT Portland. And his "accent" wasn't hard to understand, unlike some posts claim on here. But I do agree you have to be smart to understand some of the jokes, they're very funny.
Javad is a very good math teacher and makes hard concepts easy to understand! His study guides are very helpful on the tests, which are straight forward and have no surprises. However, he does get frustrated easily with too many questions. One of the best math teaches I've ever had!
This is an easy class if you study and do the work. Most of the notes are taught by the teacher and not out of the book. Overall easy class!
I was afraid to take this class as I heard it was the toughest calculus I would have to deal with. Javad made it bearable and helped cut through to the most important stuff. If you take good notes the tests are easy. Do some of the homework and the tests are even easier. AWESOME TEACHER!
Javad is great at teaching, but he goes very fast because he covers a huge amount of information. Other than that he's a great math teacher!
Javad is an amazing professor. He will give you all the tools you need to be successful if you choose to be. He has high expectations but will increase your learning potential by the middle of the course.
Very easy class, all you need to do is show up listen to the lecture and follow the study guide. Get an A every time.
Good teacher
He makes the material understandable by explaining it well. He goes at a decent pace and there's no homework. There is rarely any homework. Homework is given if there was no time to do the classwork problems. Also for the tests you get a sheet of notes.
He doesn't go fast, but he doesn't spend so much time in things we do not need to know. The only bad thing is that he makes jokes only him can understand.
I had Javad for MTH252, and will be taking him again next term. His engineering background allows him to teach applications of math, which I appreciate. He is soft-spoken and has an accent, so I recommend sitting in the front row. His tests are take-home and he recommends homework problems, so the class is low on the busy work. Highly recommend!
Great teacher, even better person. 5/5 would take any class w/ him again. Thank you, Javad.
Great teacher! Has his own style of humor, but is very helpful! Does not grade homework nor does he assign any assignments that are graded besides from the tests. He gives a review a week before the test and the test is almost identical to the review. Easy class! I got a B and math is NOT my subject!
HE UNDERSTANDS THAT IF 17 PEOPLE COME TO CLASS EVERYDAY AND DO THE WORK,BUT DONT GET IT HE NEEDS TO CHANGE SOMETHING NOT THE STUDENT. RECEIVED AN A IN CLASS FAILED LAST TIME I TOOK IT ONLINE. GREAT AT MAKING CHANGES TO FIT LEARNING PATTERNS. I GIVE HIM AN A FOR HIS GREAT TEACHING STILE. THANKS JAVAD
If you are a self-learner then you will do fine, but if you are not a math expert do not take any of Javaads classes because he does not take the time to teach you anything.
I have gotten A's every test so far, but I had to go to the tutoring center ALL THE TIME. His accent isn't much of a problem, but only when he speaks fast and quiet. I would recommend him if you know the material and are a fast learner.
I had to go to the tutoring center ALL THE TIME. His accent isn't much of a problem, but only when he speaks fast and quiet. I would recommend him if you know the material and are a fast learner.
He moves quickly; his lessons are given with the expectation that all material from MTH95 has been retained! He WON'T take the time demonstrate those concepts: gives basics & moves forward QUICKLY. Great personality & VERY intelligent. If you're self-motivated & already understand Algebra concepts, you'll do great. I needed extra help FREQUENTLY!
Really good teacher, takes time to explain every question. Has robust industry experience, and makes the class interesting all the time.
Javad is a rather awkward guy. He doesn't take the time to explain things good UNLESS YOU ASK!!! The class is not that hard if you are a self-learner. He tries to make everyone laugh but ends up laughing by himself. He is friendly though.
I can see how people have had a difficult time with his teaching methods, but he gives everything that is on his exams on his exam reviews. It's not hard to pass his class, but don't expect to remember a whole lot.
Javad is an expert math teacher. He moves at a reasonable pace, but always clarifies any point if you ask. He has office hours and is available after class. The material was difficult, but explained clearly. Anyone who puts in the effort will do well. Thanks Javad
I took Javad for Math 95 and 111. He is an awesome teacher, he moves quickly and does not have you turn in homework. It takes studying outside of class if you want to do well. He is very helpful if you take the time to ask, he's a funny guy too. The reviews are similar to the exam, plus you can't beat getting to use notes. Loved having him
Javad is an excellent teacher. pay attention, take notes and try some problems in each chapter you should do well. Have questions, just ask, he is great at explaining, funny too. class isnt easy but in my opinion his method of teaching is stress free
he covered 2-3 sections a class;moves very quickly. expect 2 go 2 the tutoring center a lot! does not collect hw or do attendance. class grade is based on 4 tests, no retakes.i expressed that i was struggling early on & he just told me 2 go 2 tutor cent.its best if u got an A in 95, otherwise u wont b able 2 keep up,he wont recap any of that stuff.
As a working professional, I really appreciate Javad's no nonsense teaching style. You are responsible for your own success or failure. Do as much HW and studying as you need to. Ask questions in class if you don't understand. He will help you. He made the topic of statistics and probability very interesting, even providing real world examples.
His "jokes" are offensive and unprofessional. Instruct me on math, not your personal stories, please. He doesn't seem to understand the questions the students ask. I'm left confused and spending a lot of time getting tutoring. Grades are from tests only so if you mess those up you are screwed. I used to enjoy math. Not anymore.
At the beginning of class, he told us that he didn't want this class to be filled with Math, and he wanted to connect it back to Business. He is a master of LIES. This entire class is difficult statistics and advanced algebra. His lectures are rushed and does very little explanation. HOWEVER, his test study guides are EXACTLY like the test. Yay!
I don't appreciate that our grades are only test based, but I appreciate that he gives a review guide just before the test that looks just like the test. He explains things in an odd way, so for people who may not have heard of the topics he teaches would find them harder to understand. And his humor is passable though may be offensive to some.
Javad can go on tangents and sometimes talks about things that are irrelevant to the class, and sometimes slightly inappropriate (got sidetracked by a 6 minute political tangent the other day), but aside from that he really puts me at ease when it comes to math, which has never been my strong point.
He didn't explain things in a way I could understand. It seemed so easy for him that he couldn't 'dumb' it down enough. He also moved extremely fast and my brain felt like mush after class. I don't recommend his 111 class unless you already feel good about the material.
Teaching style was just not fitting. There's no homework, so if you need to repeat things in order to get them into your brain, do not take the class. He also has an accent and goes off on tangents, so if focus and clear speaking is your thing, don't take the class. Grade is based off of tests only; be careful. He also teaches things differently.
He didn't explain things at all skips over steps. He also moved extremely fast and his accent doesn't help. tries to be funny but really isn't. The only good thing about this class was that the reviews are exactly like the tests. I don't recommend his 111 class .
Javad certainly has a weird sense of humor, but if you find silly things funny, you'll be laughing along with him. Your grade is based 100% off of tests, but he hands out a practice exam before each test, goes over it, and then the actual test looks IDENTICAL to the practice. Super easy if you just go over the review in class with him. :)
I took 3 different Math classes from him. He tells corny jokes but I enjoyed his quirky humor! His class is based off the review, make your note page off the review and steps for answer. During tests, I would go ask him if my answer was good, the steps looked right and he would actually tell me yes or no and tell me what i did wrong. Great help!
Javad is fantastic! There was rarely any homework (which was not graded nor mandatory) so your grade is dependent on your tests. He allows you to use notes on all your tests. He's a quirky sense of humor and tells corny jokes but I think he's funny. If you have a question and need a little extra guidance during a test, he will actually help you.
His study review is almost identical to his exams, show up to class and you'll be fine. I was dreading taking statistics, but he made it so much fun. No homework and he takes questions well! For the final, he showed up an hour early so no one felt rushed, it was also open bookopen notes. Would definitely recommend and would take again!!
No Homework. Every test you can have 8 12x11 sheet of notes. His final is open book and open notes, just not open partner. His jokes are corny and he is not politically correct. He is honest and upfront!
Before Javad I started this class 3 different times. Taking it in the summer was difficult but he helped me out. Final is open bookopen note. Each test you can have a 8 12 x 11 sheet of notes.
Worst teacher ever. If you skip 1 class you will fail. Read the book like it is your best friend because his lectures are no help. He likes to go on random tangents about Starbucks runs and also about his experience is college. REALLY pay attention to first half on term.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Did not explain concepts well at all. He even started out the class saying, " I really don't like teaching these low level math classes." I was very unimpressed with him and spent most of the term in the tutoring center, if it weren't for the tutoring center I would not have passed. I have always done well in math too
Jafad is a nice guy, if you ask for help he will help you and he likes to crack jokes and tell stories every once in a while. I'm fairly certain he has a degree in engineering , he is really smart and he seems to be a perfectionist, if you take his class you will know what I mean. He can be hard to follow sometimes but that's what kahn acd. is for
This class was very frustrating for me. I feel like this teacher has been teaching for so long, that he has sort of forgotten that not everyone knows all the math information he knows. Basically the best way I can describe how I felt during every lecture was that it felt like every day was a review rather than teaching the initial concept.
Overall the class wasnt so difficult. Although he is hard to understand sometimes and lectures are easy to follow for the most part. Theyre more like reviews the way he teaches the subject. He does forget to teach some things & will go back. Kinda frustrating. During finals review he haf equations he thought he showed us but didn't. Overall ok.
Statistics is not an easy class. Javad breaks it down. He doesn't assign homework, so you need to be able to take responsibility for your own learning. Grade is based on 4 tests, notes allowed on all. He's not politically correct and is funny, which I loved. Statistics can be really boring, but Javad made it interesting with real-life examples.
If Math is your strongest subject, then he will be the right teacher for you. If not, then you will need some studying to do. Lectures + notes cover 99% of the material, the other 1% of the time you need to look in the book. He's quite the funny guy as well. Hint - If you can do test reviews well. then you will be good for the actual tests.
He is a good Professor and not give any homework. For each test he gives a review and the tests are so similar. Just make sure to understand and study the review and it will be an easy A. Be smart and use his office hours to ask any more questions in depth of the review. He is a good help if you go into his office and ask for help.
Overall, not a terribly hard course, but you don't want to miss any classes. Javad doesn't give homework, but will give you practice problems in class to review what he teaches in lectures. The grade for this class is from four tests. Notes were great, but he could be a little difficult to understand at times with his accent. Otherwise, great class
He allowed notes for every test and let you know what would be on the test before it was given.
This is really not a tough class as long as you focus. It's better to learn it the first time around. He gives you a practice exam which is identical to the exams he gives. As long as you follow along and not expect an easy A, you won't be stressing towards the end like many of the students. He does give practice problems. Book was rarely used.
Amazing teacher! This is the second time I took this class & he did a great job teaching compared to the last teacher I took it with.
Class is easy to pass if you come to class and dedicate time to the reviews. Class has 3 tests for 50 pts, and final for 100. 1 pg notes on each test, open note and book on the final. He always gives one class day for study guide review before each test which covers exactly what will be on the test - copy exact problems onto notes, you'll be fine.
This class has no homework and 4 tests. On each test you can use a page of notes, front and back. Before each test you are given a review day and assignement. The assignment is EXACTLY like the tests, besides different numbers. I copied my review over onto my notes and got 100% or 96% on all my tests. He is hard to get help from on review days thou
I took him for Stats I gotta say it was a tough time. I never felt like I quite understood what was going on unit to unit. He's a coolguy, but it's almost like he taught every class as if it was a review ofthe unit rather than actually teaching how to do the equations and stuff. Struggled all term, but somehow ended upwith an A. Testreviewssavedme
This guy's class is a complete joke. If you are in any sort of engineering or math based program, you aren't doing yourself any favors by taking his class. Delivers the material, but doesn't teach it. Doesn't clear anything up when you ask questions. Loosely assigns homework and the take home tests. He does not care about his class, so how can you?
This guy is amazing there is no mandatory hw, but being in class matters he goes over everything you need to know to get an A. You just have to put in the effort and take notes.
You will not learn anything in this class
Javad is not the ideal instructor to take. He's hilarious, actually he is probably the funniest man at Chemeketa. However, he is a terrible teacher. Most of my class didn't understand any of what he was teaching and when he would ask "any questions?" nobody would speak up because it was too awkward. All the test answers are on his reviews.
Javad was a really cool guy and a great professor. The class was easier than what I expected and his lectures helped out on the study guides which are practically his tests. I bought the book and never opened it as he only left about three problems of homework the whole term.
Javad was really good at explaining and giving examples. I thought he was an easy grader. He hands out reviews that help a lot with the exam! The exams are open book and you can use notes as well. I didn't think I would learn much because I thought it was and easy class but I actually retained a lot of information!
Javad is a great teacher. I did really well in the class. He gave great lectures on the material and was helpful when you asked questions. However, I believe he needs to be more careful with what he says in the classroom. He would talk about government and politics which did not pertain to the curriculum and would make occasional race jokes.
Javad is very straight forward. Your grade will based on the three tests and the tests aren't difficult if you know how to do everything on the review he hands out.
I am currently in Javads's class in the process of registering for next term. I will be taking math classes from Javad all the way to vector calc. This prof is AMAZING.
He is hilarious! Do not miss class, take good notes, and you should pass. I've heard of students passing without ever opening their books. I used it to refer to and thought it was helpful. He really does give you everything you need to do well on the exams. No homework, but notes are allowed on tests so take good notes and you'll be fine :)
He is a great
I will have to say I am good at math, but this class was so easy for me. He explains things very well so that they are easy to understand. The class is just based off tests though so if you don't do well on those don't take this class. He's really funny and keeps his lecture interest.
Javad was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is patient, and clear with his instruction.
Javad is a great teacher! He takes the cake for being the math professor I've understood the most. He takes tangents in his lectures to tell funny jokes to. I would take him again if I needed more math!
I thoroughly enjoyed this class & learned a great deal. Javad loves to joke, but during lecture he is professional & concise. He does a great job of relating the course material to real-life circumstances. Advice: Copy all he writes on the board & make sure you understand test reviews. Negatives: 3 Exams(50 pts each) are your grade, no EC or HW.
The instructor presents the material well. He tells jokes, but there are times that he needs to worry less about being a comedian and more about teaching the subject. He bases your grade only on tests and does not allow extra credit. He answers about half of the emailed questions.
He is funny but gets off track sometimes sharing. There wasn't any homework or projects. You'll need to attend classes, especially the review sessions. If you can't do the review problems, you'll likely not do well on the tests because they're VERY similar. There are 3 exams and that's where all your points come from. Book wasn't necessary.
He is the best math teacher I ever had. He explains very clear all the problems and let us practice in class so we learn how to solve each problem. He is always willing to help and make us understand. The material is hard but he makes it easy to understand. To get a good grade just don't miss class, take good notes, and practice at home.
Javad is an amazing mathematics professor! He goes through lectures at an understandable pace and makes sure that his students understand before moving on to the next lecture or topic. He has online assignments (not graded at all) that are great for practice! He has a pretty great fashion sense, and get ready for off-topic jokes here and there!
I took this class online and never met the guy, so I can't say much about him. However, when I had questions he answered quickly. This class Is super easy. Graded on 3 exams, and 1 final. He gives reviews which are EXACTLY like the exams. 10/10 would recommend taking this class.
Took class over zoom. Class consisted of him showing the answers to the problems and then terribly explaining why they're right. Seemed like he didn't know what he was talking about and would often question himself. Discussed politics and other off-topic stuff. Class only had 2 exams and optional homework. Basically had to teach myself everything.
Professor Javad was one of the best professors I've had. I loved his sense of character and all his stories. Just paying attention and taking notes is what you need to do to get an A in the class. three tests and 1 final. The tests were like the review and were also open-note tests. Would take any class with him.
Javad truly wants his students to succeed. One of the first things he said at the start of the term was, "If a student fails my class, I take it personally." That set the tone for the rest of the term If you follow his recommendations and take the reviews, which are nearly identical to the tests and final, you will do great 3 Tests, 1 final no HW
Provided students with a free textbook, had 3 tests at 50 points each & 1 final for 100 points. Homework was recommended and not graded. He taught us that our drive and motivation are what earn us our grades. We pay a lot of money for this class & it's our responsibility to be honest and learn. His teaching style resonates with me it really works.
He wants his students to learn the proper way to solve the problems. He provides excellent reviews for each test, including the solutions, and an entire class dedicated to how to solve those reviews before each test, including the final exam.
Javad Farjami is the best stats professor at Chemeketa. This class consisted of 3 tests and a final exam. They were all very similar to the review which is done in class. Homework and readings are optional. Easy A.
This prof is funny and kind. The class is literally graded on 3 tests and the final so you have to do good on those if you're wanting an A. I would say he is okay at explaining things. Sometimes I found him to be really clear and others It seemed like he rushed through. Tests are untimed and you get two days to complete them.
It's been like 10 years he was so horrible Im coming back to leave this rating. If your ready for him to insinate your intelligence level may or may not be low to the entire class.
One of the worst teachers I ever had. Heavily insinuated our class wasn't the smartest regularly.
This professor makes math enjoyable with his humor and dedication to student success. The tests are fair if you attend class, take notes, and use resources like unstuck study for practice. I'd recommend this class to anyone looking for a manageable math credit.
My favorite professor so far. I have never been good at math, but he made stats easy to understand. You can tell he cares a lot about student success. Definitely my favorite class I have taken at Chemeketa. 10/10 and he's funny.
..........
i honestly never went on the zoom calls and just did some of the work from the textbooks and was able to succeed. tests are online, i printed my sheets out. there is no homework just 4 tests including the final. tests are 2 pages and final is 4. easy to understand but if you like professors who are very involved do not take him! i loved this class!
Goes into depth and makes sure you understand what's going on in the class. He wants you to succeed.
Made class very easy to understand and vey hilarious would take it again.
Javad Farjami was a great professor. His lectures were easy to follow and ensures students comprehend material and know how to solve stats problems on calculators. He also provides study guides for all tests given throughout the term.
