Very fair teacher, no trick questions on exams

helpful and fair.wish i could of taken him for qm122.
Gives a lot of bonus points, lets you make a sheet with all of your info on it.

It looks and talks like Saddam Hussien. He gives alot of brownie points, which will help me pass his HARD class. But in all he is a fair teacher who knows the material WAY TO MUCH.
Very thorough with his teachings. Knows a great deal and explains the book a lot better than if you had to read it alone. LOTS of HW so be prepared to pull some all nighters...but it does pay off to do it. Go to class and do the work and you'll be fine
Agree with the Saddam thing. Talks about martini's a lot. Does know the subject pretty well, but teaching is pretty dry. Then again, it is statistics.
I hate QM more than anything so the class sucked. I don't think the teacher really matters in this class but he was good. Brownie points, cheat sheet, go to class and take notes.
First off, QM sucks...but this prof is the best u can have! Oh yeah, and he LOVES persians!!
Entertaining Professor. Pay attention in class and you'll be ok. Take notes and make sure you have the best "cheat sheets" as he likes to call it and you'll breeze through the class.
One of the funniest teachers at hofstra, cracks me up. QM is a hard boring class but he teaches it well and knows his stuff, I recomend him
do the hmwk tests mult. choice, he uses big curves and u can use notecards for tests
cool guy
knews the material very well
Hes a good teacher yet his class isnt a Easy A... Pay attention.. and study ur A** off cuz those tests are no joke even wit the "Cheat Sheets"
blah blah.. take someone else.. he makes soo many jokes u dont learn S*#$ .. yea hes a great professor when there is no overtime and hes not rushing 3 chapters in 10 seconds. .. Good luck..
Not bad professor. but Take someone else if you wanted to learn not laugh..
he's cool! he teaches the best towards the end of the lecture though, so it's cool to be late to class
This guys the best. He loved my class, so lenient! Tough material, but if you study ahead of time you'll be fine. Big curver, and makes class fun and likes to waste time.
Reminds me of the pakistani version of Alex Trebek. If you can get by how funny he acts, then you might be able to learn something. He tries to intimidate in the beginning of the semester but then he calms down and is cool as ****.
this guy knows the material too much. great teacher, tries to make a dull subject somewhat interesting. You really need to study the material and get to class, it definitely pays off -- on a side note.. know the ali g show..is this guy borat or what?
He crams 500 lbs of poop into a 5lb bag at the end of class. YET, in the beginning of class, he sometimes wastes time. When he goes really slow, he teaches well. Unless you have prior background, avoid him.
this guy is very funny. hes no joke though. you have to do ur work or u will fail. dont think with the cheat sheet you dont have to study. overall i think u should take him hes very smart.
I LOVED HIM, I WISH I TOOK HIM FOR QM 122 INSTEAD OF THIS **** LONNIE STEVANS. ANYWAYS...PAKNEJADS A GREAT TEACHER AND REALLY FUNNY. TAKE HIM!
fantastic teacher!! the jokes never stop and he makes the material real easy to understand... i blew at statistics all throughout my high school career but he changed my life!! a true hero on all fronts. Go Paknejad!!
dont' take this if u suck @ math.he thinks hes funny but hes so annoying. im failing his class bc he repeats one deffinition over and over and rushes @ the end bc time is out but doesn't let u leave.u can go to his office for "chocolate"
In the beginning he tries to scare the students..but during sememster he cools down..he is funny..he is hard, but good..for all those who are saying that he sucks, he doesnt!! THEY SUCK!! thats college! High school is over!! i am taking him for qm122
This is not a good teacher, he rushes through everything and does not show you how to use the formulas, he is not very helpful when students ask questions or when he goes over problems. Take another teacher if you can.
scares students in the begining, but afterwards he is a great professor. take him for qm
Took him during Winter session. A few people didnt like him but I got an A. He made the material very clear, but had to go fast because of the time restriction. Awesome professor though. Would recommend him to anyone. Funny guy too.
he was terrible unless you could read the book and understand everything yourself
qm is never easy, he's scares you in the beginning & rushess in the middle and you will go thru hell. Stay focus and reread the chapters. he allows you cheat sheets but tests are still tough. watch out with his annoying corny jokes. 3****exams
Hard test, but if you have the work book, its not that hard. Okay curve and nice professor. He tries hard to teach you statistics, hard homework assignments but he goes over them. You'll learn a lot. Funny professor who gives real life example for statistics, makes the class actually seem useful.
OK THE ONLY THING THAT IS GOOD ABOUT THIS CLASS, IS HIS CHEAT SHEETS AND CURVES, OTHERWISE I WOULD TAKE A DIFFERNT TEACHER. HE SUCKS, HE ALWAYS SPED THROUGH HIS CLASSES, GAVE TONS OF HW N RARELY WENT OVER IT IN CLASS, N IF U ASKED HIM TO HE GETS ALL MAD. NOT WORTH TAKING, NOT HELPFUL
tries to scare you in the beginning but is actually a nice, funny guy..tests r kinda hard but all QM is hard..lets you bring cheat sheets to the tests..i thought i was going to fail in the beginning but ended up getting a C..i would definately take him again if i had to
this guy is to easy...if you just study a little you'll do fine...people that say his tests are hard are wrong...just go through the chapters the night before the test and write in every thing you dont know..theres no way you can get under a B in the class unless your a dumass!!

go to class take notes, but MOST IMPORTANTLY just read the part of chapters that he assigns hw to over and over. his tests are very fair, and come straight from the book. he will never give you a problem he didnt assign in hw, take good cheat sheet notes. he's a fair prof, gives decent curve.
Great Professor, he curves, and is actually very smart. His winter classes are jammed packed with material, 1ch / day and he goes quick. Just read the book and you will be fine. Very Nice Man
ok....DO NOTTTTTTTTTT TAKE HIM! I got a D in his class and I was there each class and just couldnt understand a word he said, and he's so damn boring.
Great professor... sometimes he moves too fast so you may get lost, but just read over the book and you will do great. I took him in the winter and we had 2 multiple choice tests with a cheat sheet, and he curved the test. I got an A all you have to do is study
He is a fair professor. He gives a curve, but he moves quickly. He may be confusing at times, so i recommend the qm lab...He allows a cheat sheet where you can write nething. He assigns a lot of h.w. but it is for your own good, and if you do it it will only help your final grade.hesumtimes collects
his the best. just go to class, do the hw and you will be ok, he doesnt collect everyone of them but if you them you will be able to understand the work. best if you read the chapter before class. there are 3 test, and homework. thats it oh yea theres a cheat sheet. im taking him for qm 122
QM is a horrible subject to begin with but he understands that. he does everything he can to help you out, you can use cheat sheets and he even gives a curve. he really doenst want you to fail. QM stinks anyway you look at it but if you have to take it like i did take it with him.
This is a professor everyone should take... i had him for summer session and got a c on the mid term with a 15 point curve, missed about 6 to 7 classes and did not study hard for the finial i though i was out of luck... i end up with a B
Worst prof. You cant understand him, and he teaches with his back to you. And his cheat sheets dont make a difference, because you'd have to copy the textbook to make a differnce. HORRIBLE WASTE OF TIME!!!!!!!!!! You'll end up teaching yourself!
He is a fair professor. He makes the best of QM although he may be confusing at times. 2 tests and a final. Curves...wants us to pass
He is a great teacher. I would def recommend for QM. He makes jokes and stuff so it is an enjoyable class. He also curves and gives only multiple choice tests-which is great! You dont have to go to class(but you should!)and he gives alot of hw, but doesnt collect most. You have to study on your own, but its def possible to do well in his class.
great great guy, he makes statistics as much fun as it could be. definately take him for this class
horrible teacher!!! just dont take him!!
Professor P is awesome! He really is a great professor!
QM is very very hard. no need to mince words. But Paknejad made the class very fun and very worthwhile. He is the rare professor who makes you want to come to class. He used humor to break up the "boring lectures" (his words not mine) and he explained everything thoroughly. Uses a hefty curve on tests. If you have to take QM, Take Paknejad!
He's the one of the best professor you can get here in Hofstra for QM 101. He's much better than other professors who teach QM 101. This Iranian guy is very smart, gives multiple choice 2 tests and final. He curves a lot, so he does everything he can. HW counts %10 but he doesnt collect most of them but he discusses answers on the board. Not bad.
very helpful and clear in lectures. lets you use a cheat sheet on the tests and you can write all your notes on it. exams are 100% multiple choice.
Go to class, do the homework, you'll be fine. He's a great guy with a sense of humor that somehow made statistics somewhat interesting.
If you have to take QM, I HIGHLY recommend to take it with this prof. He is amazing and makes his lectures so interesting. He is veryy helpful, and curve's tests. If you go to class, take ALL the notes, you'll definately pass, maybe not with a A, but u will pass.
I took a different qm class prior to this one and it was so hard. But paknejad made it so much easier and i didnt mind going to class. he was pretty funny too and he lets u make cheat sheets to use on ur all multiple choice tests. great guy overall
QM is very hard. He made it bearable. Very patient. DO THE HOMEWORK and you cannot fail. If you don't do the homework you will be lost regardless of who the professor is.
This professor is absolutely horrible. When you ask him to explain something he will explain it the unreasonably hard way or randomly switch to explaining something else. His accent is hard to understand and the online homework takes forever because he assigns it before actually teaching you how to do the problems, and you have to teach yourself.
this professor wasn't easy, and neither is QM, but i was able to get an A in the course. you just have to DO THE HW!! that's the only way you'll learn cause his lectures are confusing. He's really nice though and can be funny so if you HAVE to take QM, take him!!
He's probably the best QM professor because he makes the class as easy as it CAN be. You get to use a cheatsheet on all 3 tests and if you do the homework it's pretty easy to get an A.
I would def. recommend this professor. He is extremely clear and thorough although he has an accent. For each exam you are allowed a cheat sheet in which you can write whatever you want. You will have to do the work if you want an A, but its def. achievable. After taking a few QM courses, I can tell you he is the best.
Hard Class but hes a great teacher to take it with. If your willing to pay attention you will do well. He knows his stuff and his tests are straight forward.
He is one of my best teacher i ever had.
Intimidating at first, but a really nice guy. He will take as much time as required to review the material, but notes that you are still responsible for all of it. The final was a joke consisting of mostly definitions but the assignments were time consuming. Excellent professor I highly recommend taking. MAKE SURE YOU GET A TI-83!!
Before everything, I dreaded taking Statistics, but after a few weeks, I wasn't that frustrated. Just do the homework, take advantage of the formula sheet on the tests and go with the flow. He makes this ridiculous course as easy as it can be. It just sucks that he isn't teaching QM 122.
One of the greatest teachers I've had so far. The subject itself is really hard, but he makes it as easy as possible. Curves tests and helps grades at the end of the semester. Take him if you get the chance.
Professor Paknejad is a wonderful professor. He is aware that QM is a difficult course and does all he can to make it interesting. DO the homework assignments: they will come in handy for the exams. His exams are pretty simple and he curves all exams. He doesn't like to see anybody do bad and will do anything to raise grades. TAKE HIM!
I had so much trouble in the class. Paknejad is a great professor though and really does care about his students. In the end he gave me a C, which is more than generous, trust me. If you need to take QM, take him. The class is a nightmare and he is the one you want to struggle with through it.
Paknejad is a good teacher. Funny guy, but class is boring because of the subject matter.
If you have to torture yourself through QM, TAKE PAKNEJAD! He's great! I failed every test, didn't hand in homeworks (it was a rough semester) & I pulled a C+. Not to mention, he's as cute as a button. He's very helpful and will do what it takes to help you pass his class! Love him!
Best professor I've had thus far at Hofstra. Gives TONNES of work, but explains everything very well & makes sure you get it.
Paknejad is great for QM. He gives plenty of homework but it pays off because he goes over every question and the test rarely has any surprises. Go to class, pay attention, take notes. Funny personality which is hard to find in math professors. got a B for QM. TAKE PAKNEJAD!
QM is a hard class no matter who you take it with, but Paknejad is entertaining and goes over every problem in detail! Doing his homework helps a lot for exams, and you get a note sheet for every one. Go to class, study, and you'll be fine
Great teacher. Knows his stuff. He uses humor and a steady pace to keep you interested. For a graduate workshop he covers most of the material you need to get acquainted with the basic tools and techniques in applied statistics that you will need as a foundation for future classes. Definitely take him.
Excellent teacher!!! He didnt make the course he is only teching it and he does a great job helping people understand the course. Nothing is easy, you have to pay attention and you'll pass!!!
QM 101 and 122 are very hard courses, but I feel I'm prepared for 122 after taking 101 with Paknejad. He's very helpful, humorous, and knowledgable. Two midterms and a final. He allows you to create a formula sheet to use on the tests. He's definitely your best bet for this one.
I love this class. He may get boring at times but when he notices students drifting off, he'll tell us a funny story to lighten the mood. Just read the textbook and do the homework, and you'll be fine in this class. It's not easy, but just put in a little work and you'll be fine.
Paknejad is a very good professor. His tests aren't that bad if you do all the homeworks and understand them! he curves all the exams and he lets you bring a formula sheet to the test. towards the end of the semester he gives like brownie points if u attend all the classes! he pretty much does everything he can to make sure his students pass!
Everyone says QM 001 is a class you do horribly in and expect the worst. Paknejad is an awesome teacher, the class has a lot of material and sometimes he falls behind but he will never test you on things you didn't learn. You can use a cheat sheet on every test even the final. Overall a really genuine professor who wants his students to succeed.
Took exam 2, hard test because it was not based on the homework, based more on chapter 5 and definitions problems not problems with numbers.
IT 14 is a prerequisite for QM122 and the proof of that is beyond the scope of this course. The class was very boring but I enjoyed Paknejad. He teaches the material well and his tests are all multiple choice. Study for the exams, and with formula sheets the size of this room, you shouldnt fail. He also curves every test. He's a very kind professor
I took his class for business statistics, and i loved him! The class requires a TON of work, but he is very helpful. He loves to teach and has a sense of humor. i would recommend his class to everyone
This Prof is really helpful and supportive. You will have a ton of HW but you will learn.
I was borderline terrified to take this course because the level of difficulty. Its a difficult course and material can be kind of tricky. However, Paknejad is great professor. He made material clear and always willing to help. I did bad on the 2nd exam and ended up with a B. If you can do and understand all the hw you will pass no doubt. TAKE HIM
Excellent professor. The homework he gives really helps you for the final. Explains everything very clearly and well.
Paknejad is a great teacher and has a pretty good sense of humor. The only infuriating part of his class was that he collects homework based on a coin toss. Beyond that his class was enjoyable.
This is easily the most challenging class I've ever taken. There is a ton of memorization and studying that is necessary in order to pass this course. He allows you to use a cheat sheet for every exam (even the final!), which is a lifesaver. It takes a lot of effort to do well in this course and I cannot imagine doing well without Paknejad.
Great professor. Knows the content and is very clear with explanation. Prepares you properly for BAN122, the next required course. Statistics is seriously the most useful class i have ever taken.
Paknejad is amazing. Sweetest professor ever and he really prepares you for future business stats classes and life in general. He is very relatable and very intelligent. I would 100% take him again. Be sure to do the homework, it just makes life a lot easier, the homework basically will reinforce what he teaches that day
Statistics is without a doubt the hardest requirement of the business school. Pakenjad tries to simplify the course as much as he can, but the class is still so freakin confusing. He's a sweet guy & is there to help when you need it. One thing I hated was that he'd flip a coin to decide whether he'd collect the homework you already did :/
Statistics is hard, no doubt about it. Enjoys assigning long homework assignments to do in two days which is worse when he may or may not collect it. He teaches very conceptually which is what his exams are like, but the homework is not like that. Three exams and they're cumulative. Make an awesome formula sheet - he never checks it.
I recently took Dr. Paknejad for a winter BAN001 course at Hofstra over a winter session. Dr. P is very very smart and truly cares about his students, unlike some other Professors I have encountered. Although he administers a fair amount of homework, that is where I was able to iron out the nuts and bolts of the class. I highly recommend Dr. P.
Great guy. Extremely helpful considering the topic. Go to class, pay attention, DO THE HOMEWORK and you'll be all set for the tests. You have to work for it in this class.
He was so clear in his lectures it was amazing. But business statistics is a very hard tough class so you need to do the homework he assigns, which is a good amount. if you do the homework and read the chapters on his syllabus, you will do excellent. very clear about what to do! He cares so much about his students as well! GREAT PROFESSOR!
Really great professor! He really cares about his students and if you put the time in, he'll see that and help your grade out. Best part about his tests are that you can use a cheat sheet and write whatever you want on it. His tests are easy and straightforward if you study for them.
This class is horrible honestly, hardest class at Hofstra but Professor Pakenjad does his best to make the class understandable. Homework is a nuisance but he des allow you to make your own cheat sheet for his tests. If you're struggling, talk to him and he will definitely help you pass his class.
There is zero reason to not do well in this class. If you're good in math, you're fine. If you're not, he still makes it completely understandable. You can make a formula/information sheet for the exams, which you can literally put ALL the class information on. Just write small. Don't just be another B-school student that complains about stat.
In order to succeed in this class, you should go to every lecture, read the textbook chapters, and study as much as you can. Paknejad makes everything clear and goes over homework if anyone is confused. He is very reasonable and understands how difficult the class is.
Paknejad is the man! He does the best to help students because he knows how hard this class is. The class is tough for most students and you need to work to get a B or higher. I just wish that we taught BAN 122... best stats prof for ban001 and ban122 if he decides to teach it again
Paknejad alone is a very caring professor. I knew stats was going to be difficult, but I don't think he helps the matter. He loves to give examples, and sometimes he gives so many that you end up getting lost. Sometimes simplifying too much becomes difficult to follow.
Took this class over the summer so the workload was condensed. BAN as a whole is very difficult, but Paknejad had a great way of teaching it. Kept things interesting and wanted everyone to succeed.
After two semesters with Paknejad, I really appreciate him. BAN is hard no matter what. You put in the effort and you work with him, he'll help you out. DO THE HOMEWORK, you never know when he'll collect it. Never checks the cheat sheet for exams. It gets confusing at times, but don't be afraid to ask. Show up to class & pay attention!
Professor Paknejad, Is an amazing professor and he cares about his students. But this class is just a complicated subject matter he does what he can and curves heavily. Make sure you do the homework and study extensively and you'll be okay. He is also a really cute old man!
Best professor I've had at Hofstra. He is so nice and he wants you to do well. The course is tough, but if you really try on the homework, pay attention when he goes over the answers in class, and make your best cheat sheets for the exam, you will do well in the class. You'll learn to love Paknejad and you'll enjoy his life lessons and stories.
He has a very thick accent, so be aware. He jumps all over the place and he doesn't give any examples to explain the criteria, making the class even harder. You are better off waiting for somebody better. Not to mention, he gives a ton of homework and all tests are cumulative. Nice man, poor professor.
Paknejad is a great professor. I took 2 classes with him and he inspired me to choose business analytics as a major. Very helpful and explains the subject matter as straightforward as possible
Ban 122 is an extremely difficult class, but Paknejad is the best professor to take it with. Go to class and you get 3 extra credit points to your overall grade. If you show up to class he'll pass you, and try to give you the best grade he can. Large curve on exams and Lets you bring cheat sheet.
Professor Paknejad is a good guy but his teaching methods did not work for me at all. I found the class extremely dry and was not motivated at all by the professor to participate or understand the material while he talked for the entire class. Honestly just buy the textbook and read it chapter by chapter on your own if you want to learn anything.
Hands down the best stats professor.
Paknejad is a good guy and wants to teach his students. The material is so basic and you take this 3 exams which are cumulative and each count for 30% of the grade. The material is all reading the textbook and attendance is not mandatory. Big lectures and a lot of writing. He has office hours so if you want to do good, you can. Okay professor.
Paknejad cares for how well his students do and will always be willing to help. BAN 122 is an extremely difficult course but he makes it so much easier. Wouldn't recommend taking anyone else but Paknejad for BAN 122.
This class is so hard (w every professor)- cant hear or understand him, everyone lost the whole time. Chegglifesaver because I never knew what to do on the homework, but all of the questions were on there. 2 tests, 1 final, cheat sheet for each, all cumulative, big curves. Have to check online for homework posts. No idea what to expect on tests.
A legend
Nice guy, but his lectures are hard to follow. Does not write any notes down all comes from word of mouth so its imperative that you pay attention.
He is VERY long-winded. It takes him 30 minutes to "introduce" the lecture before he even starts the lecture. Then he just rambles most of the time. The class is strictly Cengage, and he doesn't really do anything but regurgitate the slides "he" created. Watch the vids in Cengage and you will be fine. Class is VERY BORING.
Professor Pakenjad is really good. Stats is a really hard subject but he made these detailed powerpoints that have many examples for you to learn from. The first test is easy however, the exams got harder. Just read the powerpoints, do the homework and do the excel + practice problems and you'll do fine!
Paknejad has been very boring in his lectures but gives a lot of HWs through Cengage. He's accessible during office hours as long as you make an appointment. Do the HWs and practice them, you'll ace the class. Also, he'll give out random brownie points that'll add 3-5 points to your whole average.
As long as you do the MindTap assignments and go to class you should be good. Professor Paknejad will give random brownie points to help boost your average. Put in the work and you'll do just fine ,he's a very fair Professor.
tests are all multiple choice but staying focused in class is a STRUGGLE. he talks for the whole class just reads from a powerpoint. has a very thick accent and i cant understand anything he says. probably a nice person but class isnt engaging
A miracle I passed this class even with perfect attendance and perfect homework grades. Lectures are a pain to get through, but professor is very encouraging. Tests are hard and all multiple choice. Allows cheat sheets for them and gives brownie points during the end of semester for attendance and hw. I will say- he is brilliant but tough class
Paknejad cares a lot about the well-being of his students and is thorough in his lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but he gives extra credit points for attending class to boost your grade. Tests are multiple choice and you are allowed a cheat sheet but it does not help much since the tests are really difficult. He does curve the test grades.
He really cares about his students success and I do suggest you teach yourself the material as I feel he makes things harder than it really needs but overall great professor overall
This prof is very lecture heavy and more complicated than need be often times. He is very hard to follow. This being said, he is very caring and a great person. Very sweet man. He cares about students a lot and often gives out extra points. He also curves test very heavy and tries to help students succeed at all times.
He is a good person; he isn't bad and doesn't try to make you do bad. He's not a good teacher. 90% of the class is learning off mindtap. It isn't easy to learn stats by yourself. If you need a good grade, maybe try another teacher .
Very kind professor, lecturers are boring it is important to read his slides and the notebook. I completed this class mostly by doing self study.
Kind and very enthusiastic. He loves his students clearly. He loves to curve the exams and give out bonus points for showing up to class. His lectures do get very dry and hard to follow however. I found it very difficult to ever pay attention in his class. The textbook and practice questions he gives will be your savior. He allows a formula sheet.
The class is very mindtap heavy and tests can be hard if you don't study. He allows cheat sheets for the tests and will curve test grades if he sees you're working hard. Although the class can be difficult, he really wants you to do well.
Nice professor who wants you to succeed. There is 1 homework assignment every week which is on Cengage. Stats isn't easy, but he lets you use a cheat sheet on exams which makes it much easier. Rarely calls on people in class, purely talks. 3 tests and homework if your whole grade. Attendance doesn't count, but you get bonus points if you attend.
He's a nice professor, but the class is heavy on lectures. His tests are hard, but cheat sheets are allowed. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up and show that you're working hard, he adds brownie points towards your grade and curves the tests. He's a big softie so don't be afraid to approach him with issues.
THE TRUTH: There are only 2 exams plus a final. The exams are worth 30% each, so you cannot afford to bomb one. The Cengage homework is worth 10%. The homework will teach you more than he does, seriously. His lectures are extremely unclear and his accent doesn't help. Extremely nice guy but do not take him if you're not proficient at math.
This class consists of three exams and the mindtap homework assignments. His lectures are very unclear, he jumps from his own words to his powerpoint slides. His class is definitely hard and you must do the learning on your part to pass. Assignments are annoying. I do not recommend!
Great guy, a genuine class act. He is very hard to understand at times, and you may have to teach yourself a lot of the material, but he gives more than enough extra points just for showing up to class. Even if you bomb 2 tests, it's almost impossible to fail with him as a professor. Try your best and all will be well in his class.
Top notch professor. Homework is clear and won't take too long, and the test may be difficult, but he allows a cheat-sheet with formulas and notes. He is a very kind man and will usually give you extra credit points for showing up to class. Be sure to pay attention, regardless of how boring the class is.
Professor Paknejad is kind, sweet, and lenient. There are 3 cumulative multiple-choice exams. They are difficult, but he allows a cheat sheet. Purchasing Cengage is required for assignments. Lectures are dry and hard to follow, but he offers plenty of bonus points just for attending classes. Overall fair but challenging. Also took him for BAN001.
