He is so helpful and extremely helpful! I never enjoyed or thoroughly understood math until I took his courses. I strongly recommend him for anything!

He is a very awesome teacher. He is very nice, clear, and helpful. I have him right now for and 1hr. and 40 min. and let me tell you the class flies right by. So far he teaches from the book so those who have problems with math can refer to the book because I have had teachers who don't and it was hard for me. By the way, he is hot!

He also has some really cool markers that he uses to show the steps of problems. A different color for each step. It's great. It helps a lot. He seems like he's always happy. Great teacher.

Very funny and quick witted! No formula memorization with Prof Guerra, he lets you use homework, text and notes for the tests. He explains the subject clearly and does alot of examples. Do the homework! It helps you understand the material and counts as a test grade. Go out of your way to take stats with this professor, you won't regret it.

I have taken this class like 300 times before at SAC and was never successful. I dreaded math. Mr. Guerra makes math fun. He helps you understand in the most basic form possible. You still have to work for your grade but he helps you every step of the way. All you have to do is put in the effort and time and you will pass.

Well this is how much I love this teacher.... I had him for Math 301, 302, and College Algebra! He is by far the BEST OF THE BEST!!! I would never take another math teacher. You use the book a lot, but he takes time to make sure the whole class understands and even if you need extra help he more than willing to give it to you. The concepts in this course are difficult, but this professor has an outstanding way of bringing the students and info together. He is probably tied with a Gunnery Sargent that taught at my first A school as one of the best teachers that I have encountered, period. If you have the chance, take your course with him. You will not be disappointed!

This is the second class that I have taken with Mr. Guerra and it was a pleasure having him as a teacher. He does a great job explaining the material and makes sure that you understand. Open book tests are a plus. Take him if you get a chance.

I dont know about his regular classes, but his class for math intensive majors (MIM),to put it lightly, nearly made me rip my hair out. Tests are challenging, work is normal, near the end we were learning something new every class. nonetheless hes a great teacher, and very attentive if you have a question.

Very good teacher. explains everything 100 times. might be boring for people who are good at math and don't need the extra explaining. but good for those who suck at math. kind of funny. you'll mostly laugh at his jokes because they are so corny and lame, not because they are funny. he's really cool though

I really liked this professor and he's 100% helpful. However, I felt like he over-explained and that his processes weren't linear enough for me. I know several people in class loved how much he broke things down, but it was very distracting for me. Work hard throughout the semester because, the regular tests are moderate but the final is a killer!!

Mr. Guerra is hilarious. I feel he broke down the material too much, but it did help. The tests are very hard, but they are all open note, 2 are take home, and 2 were group tests. I loved coming to his class everyday. Take him if you need a math course. You will not regret it.

If Math scares you this is the instructor to take. He explains each problem if needed and he doesn't make you feel like you're stupid or wasting his time like some instructors do. Had for MIM Precal. Excellent instructor, will break down the material as much as needed (even for MIM students). Is very patient and extremely willing to help. Test were hard, but he gives extra credit so it's possible to get an A even if you avg B's on in class test.Didn't require homework, which was great since it didn't really help on test.

His class is super easy. But the tests never seem to be what you learned in class, the tests have much more difficult questions than in class. So always do the review he sets for you for some easy bonus points and study. You don't really need your book in class but it helps. But all in all great teacher

This teacher takes real world examples to make statistic understandable to the students. He likes to joke and is always available to help. I looked forward to his classes. The tests are not challenging if you study and pay attention , and he goes over everything in detail to make sure students are ready for an upcoming test .

Mr. Guerra is an amazing professor! I never considered myself a mathematician, but towards the end of his class I felt like I mastered college Algebra. He makes you work for your grade but makes learning fun, jokes around a lot but thats a bonus. I feel like the jokes keep you awake and interested. I am taking him again in the fall for statistics!

This class was amazing. He didn't give us a huge amount of homework, just enough for us to understand the material. He's kind and he's always telling jokes. I took him for the summer semester and it was a piece of cake. Just remember to always go to class because you might miss something important.

I took Mr. Guerra for MATH 0320, 1414MIM, and 2412. You dont use the book in class, but he suggest you do the problems in the book for each section covered( not for a grade). If you want to push your abilities in math i suggest him, but if your not the type to study and do homework you will probably pull a b.

Mr. Guerra is Hilarious, we only had 4 test during our semester & they were super easy! Grade will consist of 4 test ( one of them is take home) & the home work. I would recommend everyone who needs to take Elementary Stats to take him.

An excellent math instructor who breaks everything down into clear information you can actually use, but go to every class, take good notes, do homework assignments and study hard every day, because his tests are notoriously brutal. He expects students to understand the concepts, not just how to plug numbers into formulas. That takes effort.

I had the class mon/wed from 9-12:30, so the lectures did tend to get very long. He has a very playful attitude though, so that balanced it out. Doesn't take attendance. Everyone who says his class is hard just isn't used to college level classes. You have to put in effort! You can really tell he cares about his students .

TAKE NOTES & PAY ATTENTION & YOU WILL PASS! Mr. G reviews before some test. He uses jokes which help you memorize formulas. 4 HW assignments due on each test date. Test are tricky because he changes the wording. If you fear STAT I strongly suggest taking him. Overall "his class" is quite easy if you pay attention, take notes & do HW. Best of Luck!

Professor G is THE best professor at NVC, he is my favorite ! I would definitely recommend him to anybody taking stats ! He makes class fun & helps you learn formulas by making jokes which obviously help you learn the material. He does give plenty of homework but you have more than enough time to do complete it.

The instructor is funny and kept the class interested. I took him for 0320 and he really worked with me, I am sure I asked a million question. The ALEKS program is the course textbook, it great, videos and plenty of examples.

i had him for a morning class and even at 9 in the morning he was energetic and he was ready to teach. This professor not only helped you with anything you were having trouble with but he did not make you feel stupid instead he helped so you can succeed. Txtbook hw is optional, exams are alittle hard, but the quizzes are easy and he gives more time

His personality is fun, he teaches very well. Pop quizzes are super easy, even if you aren't great at math its still easy. He will literally tell you what will be on the exams. But the first test everyone failed, because we assumed that it was too easy. He will go over concepts with you if you still do not understand. I finished with a B.

Class is not mandatory but going to class, taking good notes, & doing HW is vital for passing. Lots for HW but gets u ready for test, 4 exams, & no extra credit

Professor Guerra always had a good attitude and was helpful. The only complaint I would have is that the class sometimes felt slightly unorganized, but still typically predictable, in that you could guess what you were probably going to be doing the next class. If your wanting an easy math credit, I would highly suggest this course and professor.

8/10 professor. He makes A LOT of dad jokes, but he's a good teacher. To pass his class make sure you practice problems outside of class, and you pay attention during the lectures. He is a really tough grader and when he says, "show your work", you must or he wont give you any points for it.

AMAZING instructor. He made a hard class an easy A!! You won't regret taking him. I took class in person before the pandemic.

Professor Guerra is one of the most caring and genuine people I've ever met, he is by far one of my favorite professors I've had yet. I was about a week or two behind in his class because of my other classes and I was still able to catch up and receive a high A. If you take his class prepare for a whole lot of cheesy jokes. He is the BEST!

If I could give Prof.G a higher rating, I would. He is by far one of the best professors I've had at nvc. Math is not my strong suit, but he is exceptionally well at explaining, gives clear notes, helps on hw, and his tests are representative of what he goes over in class. He really restored faith in myself to take higher level math classes. GREAT!

If you're searching on ratemyprof with anxiety about who you should take, take this guy. He makes concepts very, very easy to understand. He breaks them down to the simplest forms then slowly builds up to harder questions. He revisits basic concepts that you may have forgotten (like solving for x) without shaming you. He is an amazing professor.

i took him for a summer 7 week class & hes my favorite professor ever so far. hw heavy since it was summer . his jokes can be corny but theyre so funny & it makes the class better. im not a math person whatsoever but i swear the way he explains i can do this in my sleep. If u gotta take stats 12/10 yall take him fr & thank me later.

Professor Guerra is by far one of the most amazing math teachers Ive ever had. He explains things very clearly and never rushes, and he always makes sure his students understand the material. He makes corny jokes all the time but theyre what make the class fun and something to look forward to. He definitely makes my Mondays a bit more funny.

IF YOUR LIKE ME AND NERVOUS TO TAKE STATS BECAUSE OF THE THINGS Youve HEARD TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Semester has not ended but so far have a high A. Read text book + practice problems and youll do fine. Tests are word for word the review just diff #s obviously. Hes amazing and fast at responding if you need help!

The tests are slightly harder than whats covered in class, very understanding of mitigating and complicated circumstances and very cooperative, but prepare yourself, because the dad jokes never stopever. Still a great professor, the negative ratings were written by dyscalculia bozos who might need to take up a different major, also theres no hw.

BEST MATH TEACHER! I was worried to take stats but he makes the class enjoyable and the jokes are an everyday thing. The homework was a little dense especially if you're a procrastinator and the exams were similar to what you see on the homework. Overall he is a great option you wont regret it

He's an understanding professor. What really helps is that you look view an example on the homework to also help you understand what your working on.Get your work done on time don't procrastinate otherwise you'll fall behind. Also, go to tutoring that will help you. I had many obstacles in this course but I study hard and manage to pass the course.

Professor Guerra is hilarious! He is always cracking up jokes, so please laugh at them. He is also very sweet and caring. The exams are worth A LOT, you must study and do practice problems in order to do well in the class. Let's you take quizzes 2 times, HW are easy 100s.He is not clear on due dates, so it's up to you to stay on task.100% recommend

He tells you exactly what topics are going to be on the test in order. It helps with studying plus lessening test anxiety. He's also really funny so it helps!

Professor Guerra was my favorite of all my teachers if you show up to class and are willing to learn its hard to fail. doing the homework and showing up to learn the material is important for his class but he makes it truly enjoyable coming with his jokes and humor. I would 100% take again just make sure todo your exam reviews its important.

He is funny and makes learning fun. There is lots of homework but they are completion grades. The tests are what you do on the homework just different numbers filled in. At the end, he drops your lowest quiz and the quizzes are easy too. Definitely recommend him, I have never liked math and he made the class very enjoyable, I wanted to be in class.

Professor Guerra is a hoot! His jokes keep the class entertaining. While exams are crucial, with the help of unstuck study and practice problems, you can ace this course. Highly recommend if you need a math credit.

Great professor, his class environment was light hearted and his lectures are effective. I received a C because I should've studied more which is what every math class needs, had I studied more I would've received a higher grade. Take his class!!

For someone to absolutely hate math, Professor Guerra had opened my eyes to see that it really isn't so bad. He is very kind and caring, has a lot of jokes which makes you feel less stressed about learning math. Such an exceptional Professor, I would definitely take any of his math classes again. Best Professor ever!

Best math professor at Vista. He really livens up a classroom and made math fun. He is very helpful and explains concepts so easily. Would definitely love to be in his class again, I recommend to everyone.
