easy-going , cute and funny guy. Tests are straight forward .
He makes a lot of references to Sammy Sosa. Pretty easy homework, but tests can be a little bit difficult. However I was doing really really bad on all the tests and got an A in the class. He's fairly easy but you can't understand him that well.
nice teacher, easy A/B if u keep up w/ quizes and hw.
i couldn't understand him very much. if you are confused and need help-well good luck because he's in and out of the class so quickly. People that are not so good in math should not take him. homework is ok. he's funny.

suck ........
HE IS FUNNY!!
he's funny and nice. all is fine except he sometimes make me sleep... a good sleep. despite that, he made a very clear explaination
Usually, he just talk about the examples on the book, and also made class discussion very easy. However, the test and homework can be hard as hell, so make sure you ask him about what you don't understand right away...

problems on the test include sammy sosa, how many hamburgers and fries did Cho buy for how much, and Cho's parents' donut shop! He brings donuts by mid-semester. Very funny and witty. Helpful if u ask. Understands if u suck at math cuz he sucks at english
best math teaher i ever had!
his english sucks and he's no help.. he just s u c k s............... take him if u want a D
he is great. his class is pretty easy u just need to know the material a little. he is funny and class is exciting. i recommend him to anyone
His class is fun. he's always trying to make jokes in his own little asian way...good stuff.
He is nice and teaches well. You definitely can learn a lot from this class. However, two midterms were difficult.
The chapter tests are very esay...while the midterms and finals and much harder...so don't let him fools u by the stupid chapter tests...coz he will kill u later
He can't speak english. When he doesn't know how to speak he just speaks very fast...very unclear. Some questions on his tests are hard to understand.Yes,He will fool you with easy chapter tests and hard mid-terms and finals.
very nice guy and approachable. his class isn't hard if you actually do homework and take notes. I found it easy to get an A in his class. his asian accent might bother some people. there is always one tricky question in each midterm.
He is a nice guy, but I don't understand his English. He trys to help but I still don't get it. if you not good on English you might get a hard time.
Jay Cho is the worst math teacher I had in my enitre math career. Besides his lack of knowledge of the basic English language, he has no idea how to teach. His method of teaching is working out a math problem on the chalkboard, while talking to himself the whole time instead of the class.
I would not recommend taking his Sat class. Hes unclear about the material he explains and his tests are hard! Although hes a nice guy, his teaching methods are not good. Half of my class had to drop half way through the semester.
he is a very cool teacher. he explains things but its hard to understand him. he gives a lot of homework and his tests are easy. he doesnt really explain things good, but i recommend him cuz he's easy
Mr. Cho is a nice teacher, he teaches someone patiently, sometimes he is helpful. If you work hard, you will have a better grade.
his korean accent will make u crazy coz he will speak fast when he dont how to explain. and if u are not smart enough, be prepared to be joked and laughed by him after tests and midterms. nice korean guy but act like a high school kid. study and do tests carefully if u wanna get a gd grade
he doesnt give you the grade that you deserve, even if you try really hard. he doesnt explain well and he puts tricky questions on the tests.
He's a good teacher but no calculators on tests. Cracks some jokes in class and acts like a high school kid which is pretty cool. Take him if you want to learn math. Some test questions are tricky like the word problems.Do ur hw and ask for help when u dont understand something and you'll do fine.
damn easy
The worst teacher I have ever heard, I have taken Stat 50 twice with same teacher, but he still failed me. There are also many tricky questions in the tests and requirements are too strict.
He sucks, grades are unfair.
I don't like this teacher. He doesn't care about students. Sometimes,he even cannot solve some problems he puts on tests.
He is good.
super cool funny guy
he is very nice teacher.take his class
...not only is this guy funny...hes awesome! really breaks math down to a point were its so simple u have to understand it!...test are fair..not hard..take his class
Funny guy. His teaching is much more simplier than the book. Test are not hard if you do your homework and do extra problem for practice. He might not be clear sometimes so you are going to have to go ask him or classmates to understand it better. I worked from a D to a B in that class. Nothing is impossible. Study and do few problems you'll pass.
Fun stat class. You really just have to miss class to not pass. Just show up you lazy bums.
Fun teacher who made stat simple. I still got a C but I'm happy because a lot of my friends have failed Stat at pcc. He's awesome and is willing to help his students. Just show up and do your homework.
Great teacher! overall the only flaw i could find is that has a little bit of accent...but i definatly enjoyed his class. It's only easy if you show up and do the work.
His lectures has nothing to do with exams. He goes off topic and starts talking about personal things alot. So if you want to really learn and prepare for the exam, avoid this one.
If you want to pass then don't take this professor, save yourself the time and add someone else! His lectures are so vague and he always makes the simplest concepts so complicated... he just ends up confusing students.
You've got to be really lazy or just a moron if you cannot pass his class. His explanations are very clear, and lets you correct tests for partial credit. Do the hw, it will help alot on the tests. Take him over any other Stats professors.
Mr. Cho is an awesome teacher. He is very nice and really cares about his students. You just have to study, do homework, and go to tutors if you need help.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE TEACHER he has alot of favrotism in his class and for the people he doesnt like he ridicules and he doesnt even know English he goes off topic ALOT and talks about his mother and how she owns a donut shop! He fools you with easy chapter reviews HW's and practice tests and then he gives you a much more difficult exam aft
This class is not impossible as long as you show up to every class. I have gotten As on all my tests only because I have never missed a class and I do the homework. I definitly recommend him, but I will say some work is necessay.
choooo is so funny and awesome if you really want to get the material you have to nag at him for a while. I was in his math path class and he was fustrated with some of the students so he couldn't always help but still he's a professor for a reason.
HE IS A COOL PERSON BUT BAD TEACHER. IF U TAKE HIM U WONT EVER UNDERSTAND MATH. HE DOESNT EVEN UNDERSTAND MATH. YOU HAVE TO LEARN THE MATERIAL ON YOUR OWN. SO IF YOUR BAD AT TEACHING YOURSELF AND READ THE BOOK, DONT TAKE HIM
i think he's a cool guy, and his class is pretty easy. i think it's an easy A for everyone who takes his class.
mr. cho .... he is good teacher, he is funny, he is always in OMG MOOD.. he is willing to help anyone that have a question , just don't get in his nerves sometimes... it was and easy class if you give some time to study the material... and attendace will give some extra credit.
Mr. Cho is a cool professor. Just make sure you do both the online and offline homework. He won't hold you by the hand, but he is very fair.
The worst teeacher on the planet! He has a bad attitude and a smart mouth. I paid to learn math not how to make others feel like crap. I WANT A REFUND
Cool guy. Make everything easy and fun to learn.
Great professor. Always there to help if you ask for it. Be sure to do the homework, grades pretty easily but I guess I just wasn't smart enough to get that A.
The best Stat 50 Prof. in PCC.Lecture is crystal clear and fun. Use powerpoint and give out own examples. As long as you do the work sheets you will do fine on the tests. Cummulative final exam is very hard.
The most easiest class in PCC for me. Plus he is nice and his lecture is clear and understandable.
He is the best statistic professor in PCC. In his class, he lends you TI-83 which may cost over $90 in the markets. He uses the computer for his lecture which is more than likely presentation. Really vivid. The test came from the homework. Really easy. And clear explanation. I recommend his class to everyone.
a nice teacher and a easy class. His lecture is crystal clear and fun. There is not much homework, and test questions are all from the homework. 5 test and 1 final. don't need to buy book, and the calculator. The best class ever!
Great professor, always willing to help. Very clear lecture power points, no need textbook. Interesting class, he is humor in someway. Excellent explanation and reviews before every test and the final. Recommended !!!
The best math/stat professor I ever had. He is very nice, explains things super clear; always willng to help students with difficulties. No need textbook, he lends calculators TI-83 in class. Homework are practical and super helpful for the exams. Final is a collection of similar questions from previous exams. Highly Recommanded !!!
favorite teacher there!! super funny and was like a friend...brings food and helps you with anything.super easy class
Stats is a hard class but Cho thoroughly explains everything well.He has a lot of patience and has a good sense of humor. He sincerely cares about his students progress. STUDY STUDY and do the HWK. All the test include HWK and his lecture notes which you are able to print out. TAKE HIM=]
He is the best teacher ever...........take him you wont regret.
very funny and silly, makes math a little easier to learn, dont text in class or you'll have to bring in donuts for the whole class. hes a great teacher
Professor Cho breaks statistics down into a very easy to understand lesson plan. Completed the class in 8-weeks via StatPath and recommend him. He made statistics very understandable using real-life situations and making the class participate.
I LOVE MR. CHO, he is the best math teacher EVER! He made me love math when I absolutely hated it! I had him for 402 and 125 and passed both clsses with flying colors. I am now in 131 and it is a peace of cake thanks to Mr. Cho! I recommend him highly for any math class he is offering! <3
majority of the grade is from homework, will explain the same thing multiple different ways if you don't understand.
don't buy the textbook, he will give you all of the printouts :)
Hated this class, with passion. Lectures could not be more unclear. Made me feel stupid for not understanding the first time around. Not once did he go through formulas explaining the steps. Not a bad person, not a good teacher. Got a C in the class, I'm typically an A,B student and especially tend to excel in math. Good luck you will need it
He completely is irrelevant towards the class. He wouldn't en remember my name. He does online so if you don't like the online hw. Don't take him
Mr.Cho is helpful, funny, and makes class interesting. He will help you understand in any areas u are lacking in math. Fun.
Funny professor, can be moody a times but he's lessons are clear. Take him he's one of the best math professors at PCC.
Mr. Cho seems to be a nice person but terrible teacher!!! He had no communication or interest in helping the students learn. Never graded tons of assignments because he was "too lazy" He was never clear in his teaching and sometimes didn't understand the material himself. You have to work sooo hard to get a good grade, you have to teach your self!
Forget about the previous nasty comment! Prof. Cho did for me what no other math teacher did...he completely eliminated my fear of math!!! Do the work, come to lectures and you will pass with an A :) he is one of the best in PCC!
Mr Cho is the best math professor at PCC! He is great at lecturing. He is understandable and teaches well. He is also a very happy and funny person. Just do all the homework and do good on quizzes, quizzes count a lot! and homework points add up!
Professor Cho is one of my favorite teachers. He's so funny and cares about his students. He likes participation and is sassyfunny to people who use electronics during his lectures. He knows his material and makes hilarious pcc slam videos for math lessons. If you want to see how he is watch the youtube videos basically him.
Mr. Cho is hilarious, his class is an easy A if you do all the assignments, labs, and exams. There was an exam on all the chapter of the week on Fridays or Wednesday. If you ask for help he will help you :)
Cho is an excellent professor who cares about his students and is very helpful. He will go over the material if you don't understand and is very understanding to personal situations. I didn't study for my examsquizzes and received a B in his class. Not saying u should do that cuz its a lot of material but it is easy to remember if u r good in math
Professor Cho is super hilarious. He explains really well and specific and he teaches lots of useful lessons for life (not only mathematical stuff). Do all homework on time because once you procrastinate, it'll be hard to catch up. Anw overall he's a must take teacher and definitely will take him again if I can.
Although he didn't give examples all the time, if you ask for help, he'll give it to you. The class itself was difficult. You don't really need the book as his lectures and notes are powerpoints, but you may feel like you need it for clarity.
The best professor I've ever had. I dreaded taking Statistics 50, but Jay Cho made it the most memorable class at PCC. He was funny, kind, and extremely helpful. He grades easily, and gives extra credit. He is very fair in everything he does. Lectures are surprisingly helpful and interesting.
Nice guy, funny and if you need help raise your hand he will help. However, I disliked his teaching, one example and you're on your own, he wasn't very clear at times and it was difficult for me to understand his teaching. I found myself 9 out of 10 times going to other professors for help. Overall, it's 50/50 w/him he may work for you, he may not.
free pdf book, the book is really easy to read. he doesn't do a good job lecturing my opinion so i rely on the book. he has study guides for all his tests and the tests are like the study guides most of the time. forming a study group would really help.
He's AMAZING! Some test corrections, a lot of quizzes online and in class. But very cool professor and inspirational. Very funny and spoils students (especially with food). The homework can be a work load, but he is understanding and a very good professor. Lectures are easy to understand and tests are not difficult if you study. textbook free pdf
He is a nice guy, but his lectures are at times difficult to follow. Also, there were problems in this class from the beginning; the textbook was not available at the bookstore, and when I did buy it, it was only the first six chapters. On week 3, he jumped ahead to chapter 7. He also left for a week. I preferred the substitute's lectures.
Professor Cho is an excellent Professor. As long as you come to class, take notes, do the homework and ask questions, it's easy to get an A in his class. Make sure to ask questions if you don't understand something; professor Cho will try his best to explain it. Pay attention during lecture and do the class work, it will help you with the quizzes.
Math isn't my strength, but even I found his class super easy. I tuned out for every lecture and bs the homework. He gives you practice quizzes and exams that are very similar to the one's you'll take. As long as you do that you'll be fine. Lots of in class busy work. Also he's not good at explaining, so it's a lot of self teaching if you struggle
Very easy and I didn't even study for an A as long as you do the practice problems he gives you in class and knows how to do them. He also gives a study guide that is exactly like the exams but with different numbers.
I believe that his lecture might be hard but just pay attention to this understand material and get ready for heavy quiz, big tests and exam. Grade are very class on the syllabus. He also a nice professor too.
Professor Cho is a very knowledgeable professor thats willing to help his students. The workload is manageable and the study guides distributed were very similar to the actual exam. For the most part, this class was pretty chill. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone that is considering taking stat50.
It was Math 15/115. Hw was not heavy and a fair amount. We had a quiz and test for each bit we learned and we would wrap up that section with a test. He would tell us what we should expect on the tests/quizzes. Easy to access after and before class at the math center. I had a project that was done in groups too. Math was never boring, so chill.
Professor Cho is a great and fun professor to take, only thing is that you must understand your material in order to pass this class. Make sure to know what you area doing because during the exams he will go into an oral presentation breakout room 1v1 with you to test your knowledge. He is a very nice professor I assure you that.
Calculus is difficult. homework, quiz, exam(writing and oral part). work hard on it. Especially the homework and the practice exam. You will get the grade you want.
Jay is super Chill, funny Professor. Very easy to understand the materials personally saying. There will be oral exams, just the same as you did in the practice test. I love him so much, unfortunately not meeting him in person!!!!
Jay Cho is a mathematician who goes to the greatest lengths to make sure you properly digest the information given in his lectures. His form of teaching is well calculated, compassionate, and understanding in every way. He is the type of teacher to sit down with you and go over the material repeatedly to make sure you fully understand the work.
Mr Cho is a super nice professor! And the class is not difficult! Easy on homework and exam! Will take his class if i got chance!
WORST professor i've ever had!!! He did not help you learn the material most of my class dropped it at the end because they didn't understand how to do it and he wouldn't help. If you asked for help he would explain it very difficult and if you didn't get it he'd laugh at you. If you aren't good at math i would not recommend him.
Had him Fall 2021. 1 of the most chillest but great math profs. He made a Youtube channel for his online lectures and made our Zoom meets where we would ask for help and practice. Course prep gr8. I recommend taking him math15 b4 Stat50. He explains it short and easy to understand. He could repeat his math solving again. Grades fairly. Funny.
Take this class! Professor Cho is so nice and approachable. You will need to study to do well but that is expected in any math course. There are 3 tests that are 45% of your grade and a final that is 25% of your grade. He gives plenty of time during these exams and allows you to use a full page cheat sheet. Speak up for help and go to office hours!
I came to this class with an open mind to learn, but this professor does not cut it. He is very vague with his teaching style, and belittles/laughs at students that don't grasp the concepts quickly. Get ready to do a lot of self teaching if you take his class. Avoid this guy like the plague. Actually I'd rather have the plague.
I don't recommend this professor if you struggle teaching yourself material.
doesn't teach you anything, very unfriendly. do not take this professor. very bad at explaining math
Explained lessons well. Lenient and a good class environment. But mountains of HW every week. Even after exams/quizzes. A major exam the week before final and a last minute, not part of syllabus HW assignment to turn in on final day, created on the day of final. The textbook we used did not correlate with the worksheets which made it difficult.5/10
Overall a good professor, however, your grade will mostly depend on the tests. He gives retake opportunities but only for the first couple tests. Class was hybrid, so the online lectures were pretty boring, and sometimes material was unclear. The in person class was only to do worksheets in groups, and he wouldn't explain the material much.
Had him for a hybrid class. Calc is a relatively tough class and he did not really lecture in-person, as our in-person days involved group assignments. Tests impact majority of the grade (retake for first 3). Video lectures were semi-helpful, but does not go over hard problems. Some quizzes (proctored) and weekly hw. Nice guy and lenient, but mid.
Not the BEST prof, but better than most math profs here. Grading scale is very lenient w the opportunities he gives to retake a test (no matter how you scored); tries his best to take off as little points as possible when grading imo. Will need to do some self studying, ok at explaining, tests being relatively easy is probably best attribute of him
i had to self study a good chunk of this class. very test heavy. lets you use one side of cheat sheet on tests and a full sheet, both front and back on the final. the cheat sheets honestly saved my grade
There is no lecture at all in class, only a list of exercises and group assignments for you to complete on your own. The exams and quizzes are heavily weighted, but the test points need to be figured out on your own, and it's easy to see what you didn't learn through the videos. The exams are completely closed and required use calculator.
Mr. Cho goes above and beyond, he is very energetic and funny when lecturing; he doesn't hesitate to answer any questions even if they seem very obvious. He preaches growth mindset, and genuinely wants students to do well, and makes me actually excited to show up to his class. In conclusion would recommend end this class wish I could take again.
Mr. Cho was a good professor, He was available when some one needed help and I could tell he wanted everyone to pass! The day I aced the final and the class, I felt amazing!
lectures were mostly online (async) class was mostly to review. personally, the way in which the lectures ran was really confusing to me, & when I asked a question he treated me like I was dumb & would tell me to ask my classmate instead "b/c he knows" or would just ignore me & explain it to my classmate instead. i don't recommend him.
I love Professor Cho. He was very understanding towards me and gave me plenty of chances to make up and submit my homeworks. Very fun and caring professor. Very easy to communicate and ask questions. Approachable and KIND
Professor Cho was a solid math teacher. Cho's class consisted of 3 exams with one final. Homework was lengthy and due every Sunday; however, he offers full credit for submitting after the due date. Additionally, there are a total of 5 to 6 quizzes which I found to be easy. Study guides are offered for every quiz/exam. Study those to succeed.
Mr.Cho is a very funny guy. I took his hybrid course and although it was difficult, I passed with an A. As long as you watch his lectures, do the group work, ask him questions on what you're confused on, and do the homework, you'll be good. Make sure to make use of resources such as office hours and tutoring. He allows retakes of exams. Helped sm!!
Nice person, but extremely tough grader
He gave quizzes on days we had lab, when we should be reviewing and studying on those days. Mr. Cho does not do well with explaining , he gave students a hard time when asked a question. Gets easily frustrated when trying to answer students questions. Rethink about taking this professor.
The professor is very nice and understanding, however, his explanations are very vague and it's very confusing once he makes you do the problem.
This teacher's alright. His lectures were a little boring but he's kind of funny. His SLAMTV stuff was fun to do and helped make the math easier to understand. I didn't like the assignments so I didn't do most of them. I mainly studied for the tests to get a B. So, study for the tests and you'll be fine. AND DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!! ToT
Mr. Cho's class was tough, but I found Unstuck study really helpful for study prep. The lectures can be dry, but if you stay engaged and use the textbook and free study guides, you can do well. Just be ready to put in the work.
I took this class for 5C and I thought it was alright. He is very chill, but I think his lectures aren't very engaging. It's still pretty easy to follow as he provides formats for the notes, which makes it better. Overall, he provides good resources to learn, like the notes, study guides, and Webassign for homework assignments.
I took this professor because I had no other choice. Despite his low rating, I enrolled in his hybrid class. He doesn't teach—you're on your own. In class, it's just group work with no explanations. although he doesn't teach you. He's a tough grader with high expectations on exams. There's also a quiz every class. Avoid this professor if you can.
Generous grader, may round grade if close, not scam. Exams not scams. Homework accepted late for full credit, not scam. Lectures boring, scams, but doesn't care if you use lecture time to learn the stuff on gpt instead of from him, makes up for scam. Honest about what he does vs doesn't know, not scam. intuition on solving new problems, not scam.
He doesn't teach—he expects you to figure it out on your own. I took the class thinking the retake would help, but his retakes are way harder than the original test. He doesn't care about your grade and even laughed when I asked about mine. Avoid this class if you actually want to learn. Don't believe good revs is him trying to keep his job.
Highly recommend. The daily quizzes and classwork are always done in groups and the quizzes are the same questions as the classwork. Although he can't teach well, if your having trouble you can just ask him and he'll happily help. He's very inviting and opens each class with a life question.
Took it hybrid, flipped class. Mr. Cho is chill but doesnt really lecture or teach anything in class but he will help u if u ask. Notes on an AI website that werent very helpful. Weekly work was in-class group quiz, group worksheet, guided notes, and problems. Gives practice exam before each exam which is basically the same exam with diff numbers.
