Jay is a fair guy and gives good advice on what you might be doing wrong. He is also not afraid to praise you on those things that you do well. His grading of speeches is fair. He just gets strange looks on his face while people are speaking. All in all I would recommend him to anyone looking to take speech 100 And his textbook is only $20

he uses his hands a lot and they're gross and it's distracting. Most of the people in my group were dumb. I got sick of the group stuff so I dropped.

Danley is very tough on his students, he will put you on blast if you mess around in his class, but he sure is very amusing. lectures are not that fun but he only has a couple. Work is decent, you must always do your work because that is all that really matters as well as your attendance

Mr. Danley is a wonderful and very inspiring teacher. He pushes you when you need to be pushed and praises you when you need the positive reinforcement. He is a very genuine teacher and really cares about his students. I took him 6 years ago and I still remember advice that he gave me!

I had this professor for two courses and he is an excellent teacher. He does not grade easy or hard you get the grade that you earn in his class. If you need help on an assignment or studying for an exam Mr. Danley is always happy to email or see students during his office hours. Great Professor!!! I highly recommend him.

he's easy but if you disagree with anything he says your in trouble. he plays favoritism and will give you an A just for doing your speeches, showing to class and of course only if you agree with most of what he says.

Mr. Danley was so awesome in 111 that I came back for 100 and 174 online with him simultaneously this fall. He is creative, and helpful - great sense of humor, not angry or bitter, knowledgeable! I am getting great at public speeches thanks to his guidance. He makes it clear what is necessary to do well in life as well as the classes.

Danly is a really great teacher, I would recommend this class for everyone. It's really simple and little HW. The tests are pretty simple mostly true or false.

Excellent teacher. I liked the way he had the class interact with each other. The Self Portrait presentations were really interesting even though some students did not put in much effort.

Danley is an awesome teacher. His lectures were easy to understand and fun to listen to. The textbook is inexpensive but you can pass the class without it. You do need his manual with the grading forms. He doesn't grade too hard on you unless you're ALWAYS reading your speech. Just meet the time that's required and the outlines and you're all set.

This dude is coo. i got a C in the class but still say he is coo i didnt pass no test but did all the hw (which was easy) and went to class everyday and passed the final which was a poster we all had to do and present it in class

I don't think he likes me for some reason, but that does not compromise his ability to be an extremely effective professor. His manner may take some getting used to, but it ends up that his character dovetails well with the lifetime of knowledge and experience he offers in communication theory. Tempers potentially dry subject mat's with humor well.

Professor Danley is great. He keeps you focused even if you donâ??t have an interest in the class. He definitely knows what he is talking about and you learn a lot! You complete a personality project that makes you learn about yourself which is pretty cool. Best professor I have taken at Valley.

Pretty easy course if you can get up in front of the class and give a decent speech. The text book is required, but is nothing more than a small packet he put to together... its for sale in the book store for like $5. Funny guy... It's amazing how he can just walk in the door and start taking about anything and it's interesting

As I'm gearing up for fall, thank you, Professor Danley, for a clear and concise syllabus! He lays it out for you. Just follow the directions, read the text and you'll be fine. A really patient professor and that helped make my first online class a successful one!

This progessor is a good teacher and fairly easy considering I was in an honors class. The only thing I do not like about him is how he makes you feel in front of class. He likes to put students on the spot and possibly unconciously enbarrases them.

Very approachable, and I'm pretty sure I learned more psychology in this class than my former psych class. Just saying. He is very interactive with his students. I DEFINITELY recommend him.

He was a good teacher, funny, and easy to follow even though it was a morning class. The outlines were simple and easy to understand. My only complaint is that his grading was dumb. In the end I had to fight over my A when it was what I deserved when fellow students did worse jobs and received higher marks. Be sure to get comments on your papers.

I have taken professor Danley for most of his courses, never have I met such a brilliant man. He is a very amazing professor. I am studying various other languages and have applied what i have learned in his class to other language classes.

He is an awesome teacher! Strong personality that takes a while to get used to, sure but he is really funny, extremely helpful. He gets annoyed with certain things but as long as you stay clear of those you will definitely excel in his class! Make sure to ATTEND!

Straight forward professor with a quirky personality. Attendance is a must especially during speeches. Only textbook needed is a workbook that can purchased for $4 at bookstore. Bring it with you to EVERY class. As long as you follow the outlines and do your speeches you will pass. There are only 2-3 quizzes. Easy class if you do your work.

I first took his 111 class, I have taken 4 others that he teaches since then, I have conquered my fear of public speech and am 1 class away from an AA in Com Studies. I am in his small group com class now and am learning so much, best class I have ever taken with him. Not much homework, books not mandatory. If you listen & do your work, easy A!

Loved this class! The "textbook" is like $3 and contains every grading sheet so you know what to expect. He's an easy grader but there are some things he is very clear about and that is citing and some intros. He guides you all the way through your speeches if you fall behind, everyone can definitely tell

Mr. Danley is funny during his lecture. He keeps asking if class understood lecture before moving on. He gives plenty of time to complete the assignment. One big visual project, so start early. Lectures are heavy with a lot of writing, you need to be a fast note taker. Your notes are the study guide for all the exams. Notes are very important!

Great Professor! He really cares about his students and will put forth the effort to help you pass just as long as you put forth the effort as well. I did great on my assignments, but not so hot on the test, yet I still got a B. Make sure you show up to class because attendance is half your overall grade. Participation, he loves to interact!

If you put good effort into your speeches, you will receive a good grade. He is definitely sarcastic and can pick on people, but is an easy grader. No use of the book, except the $3 workbook for grading sheets.

Honestly, he is one of my favorite professors. Hes funny and and the class is entertaining. He assigns very little work and has two exams. On the exams, he has two short answer qs that are worth about half the exam. There is a lot of in-class group activities.I became very entertained because of his passion to teach. I recommend my friends to him

I Dreaded taking this class! i walked into in nervous and shaking in my boots but Professor Danley seriously made us all feel comfortable in his class! i Learned so much about myself and how i could improve interacting with others. if you are ever having issues with anything talk to him! he may not seem understanding at first but he is!

Over the whole course I only had to do at least 5 assignments in total. The class was great and the lectures were interesting. The only thing that got me nervous was the self-portrait presentation that we had to do at the end of the year but overall it's a great class.

Professor Darnley seems tough at first glance but is really a very kind understanding person. If you communicate with him, he is understanding. I enjoyed all that I learned in his class and his personality. I will be taking him again soon.

Great professor!! His class was always a pleasure to attend. He's pretty straight forward with what he is expecting and even then if you still aren't clear on how to do something and you reach out to him he will try and help you. You can really just speak in his class. One last thing DO YOUR SPEECHES or you really won't pass!!

My ONLY complaint! The tests he gives seem to be a test of what he "glances over" durring class. He makes it seem like it was all he talked about, but I feel like everyone had a hard time with his tests. So I would say study the booklet and your notes closely before the test. Beyond that, he is a funny guy who enjoys speeches. Get ready to speak.

Just pay attention to what he says during his lectures and you will be fine. He says some funny stuff time to time. Would take again.
