Lectures are HORRIBLY, HORRIBLY boring, I had trouble staying awake almost everytime I sat in his class. Tests are pretty easy though, and he curves, so he's okay in my book.

The other two reviews are either from jokesters or idiots who didn't bother to put in an effort or show up to class. Mr. Muza is a great professor, he truly enjoys teaching and cares for his students and their performance in the class.

I took his oceanography class online. I'm an honors student and I had a very difficult time with the tests because they were so specific and detailed. He did give us "sample" questions from the test, and he always offered to help.

I learned a lot in this class. I had to study a lot to get a good grade. This class is not an "easy A", so if you are looking to really learn the subject, this is the course to take.

professor muza is a great teacher, the class is a little difficult, but he is a lot of fun.

Very very intelligent. A true gem at the community college level. This is college, work for your grade and he makes you earn it. Classes were fun and he is very fair. I don't like science but was enjoyable and getting a C in the class. Worth his weight in gold to BCC

He was a great Teacher of this subject. Very knowledgeable and nice to the students once he got to know you. If he can see that you are trying your best, that helps, if you think in his class that you don't have to read, learn and study - your wrong. I understand so much more.

Nice teacher and very helpful and supportive. I did not relize how much I learned in his class until all the earthquakes. I knew what they were talking about on the news and even told my friends all about plate tectonics and earthquakes.

This is college and he expects you to do college level work. One thing for sure he is very very fair. I made an A and studied as much for this class as my other 4 classes. I know he takes some of his classes out on a boat in the Keys but he didn't take our class.

If you think this is an easy "A" forget it, but it was the most informative class I have had. I learned alot about the world....tectonics, global warming, etc...He is a fantastic professor and gets you involved.

He was great, he knows alot about what he teaches - he is hard - but he makes you work for your grade just like it should be.

If I needed help, he emailed me back right away. The course itself is hard. Do not take this course thinking its going to be a breeze. You have to read read read! You have to really discipline yourself to study since there are no assignments, only 3 test and no extra credit! If you can motivate yourself to study, then do NOT take this course!

I had Dr. Muza for Geology. His tests are very hard. You must read textbook to do decent in this class. If you show up and participate in class discussions he does take that into account. Also, he curves his tests. He's a nice man but if you're not willing to work hard, he's probably not the teacher for you.

This guy is very cool, its a web enhanced class so you do most of the work on your own. He is there to help if its needed.

Dr.Muza gives 7 practice tests per chapter you can take as many times as you want, a powerpoint outline and a list of learning outcomes per chapter, and he curves the final grade by about 10 percentage points. He gives extra credit for completing all the assessments. The previous poster is a liar and wants to blame everyone but himself for his F.

Great class, good teacher. It is an online class. Most of what is on the test is in the powerpoint outlines and study guide and some assessments. Its not an easy class, but its not hard either if you are self motivated.

This was a great class. Independant study online course. Very difficult though. If you are still in the highschool mentality or not self motivated this class is not for you. Prepare to study... alot

This was my second class with Dr. Muza. I made an A in both classes. One of the best profs at BCC.

He is a really nice man and a good teacher. Mr. Muza made science easier for me.

Very organized online class. He tells you exactly what is expected. Gives you a practice test for each test and asessments that are almost identical to the real test (previous poster must not do the practice tests). He responded quickly to my email questions. Take this class only if you want to learn oceanography.

Online internet class. You must be self disciplined to take this class 3 tests, lots of videos to watch to help with each chapter. Lots of practice quizes. Well organized class with very little teacher interference. Teacher was always helpful and responsive when I needed him. If you have an interest in geology, you should take this class

Geology lab was wonderful. I had my whole family identifying the rocks and minerals. My daughter can't wait to take the class.

Just took him for an online class. You must study and study hard. The assessments are mostly different from the real exam. 5 chapters in each exam and you have to memorize alot. Must use text. Not an easy class.

It is an online class. Easy class if you don't procrastinate. Hard class if you cram at the last minute. Dr. Muza is very fair and curves the grades

Subject is interesting. 2 presentations and 2 tests for entire grade. Everyone in the class made an A or B, but you have to work to get the grades as he expects a lot from you. Class was fun and even though it was 3 hours at night i still looked forward to going to class.

Online class, supposedly. Basically, you study 7-8 chapts from your textbook; go to campus and take a 100 question test on the little details from each chapter then start all over again. Only 3 tests for like 20 chapters & you have no clue what each test will focus on, so you must absorb all of the chapters! Only take if you plan to be a geologist

He is a good instructor, I just take GLY1010 and the lab and is petty easy.. you have to read the book and search about geology. if you don't like to read don't take this class. I found very interesting this classs. I earn an A.

Assignments are crystal clear. Professor is extremely helpful and quick to repond to questions. I'm not a Geology fanatic at all, but I would definitely take his course again if I had to. I recommend this teacher to all.

Nice guy. Probably not a good class if you have behave like you are still in high school. I am a returning student after 15 years. Muzas class is what I expectd college to be like not just an extension of high school. Take the class if you want to understand science.

I took this class online and I loved it. Yes, there are 3 tests with 100 points each and those make up your grade. As long as you do the work and use the tools that are available to you, you can get an A in this class. There is PLENTY of warning in the orientation about the difficulty of online classes.

Interesting class. I liked that there was no homework. Just read the text book and take four test. Professor is cool but he knows who is not serious. Highly recommend him if you are on a tight schedule and need the credits to graduate.

Good class to take if you need science credits and intresting and online. Teacher responded to my questions almost immediately so communication was good..not liek others have posted.

Grade is based on 3 exams. YOU MUST STUDY! It's easy if you read the book along with the powerpoints and take notes. Professor curves the grades at the end. Study, and you will be fine.

This teacher is not very helpful. Try to solve any issues yourself and you will do great. A lot of info from his class is easy to find if you know how to Google. Do the discussions and read the chapters and you will do well.

This fully online course is going to teach you a lot about the earth---rocks, mountain building, earthquakes, tsumanis, the beach. Its not hard but you do have to read it. Only one online chapter test per week is all that is required. Take the test anytime during the week. There are also helpful practice quizzes and publisher games online.

It was a difficult class but if you put in your study hours (which will be a lot), you can totally pass! He's very linear when it comes to the class, follows the syllabus to the tee. Hint: CHECK OUT ONLINE STUDY GUIDES FOR THE EXAMS!! THEY WILL BE VERY HELPFUL!

If you really want to learn something, take the class in person. I took it online and never opened the book or studied once. Only the tests mattered. If you are smart, you'll pass the tests online...

Hybrid class. Agree with student who said he follows the syllabus precisely. Very likable professor. Knows his stuff and even stuff in other disciplines.

Hybrid class that fit in well with my schedule. Teacher treats you like an adult, not high school which some kids expected so they dropped the class early.

Class was easy. Make sure you complete all of the discussions. Grades are scored on test only, but if your missing a few points he will give them to you based on the participation in the discussions.

Took with Geology. Classes are pretty much the same number of exams and dates. Some of the chapters are the same. Extra credit for doing the discussion questions. so if you put a little effort into the class, you should make an A or B.

Dr Muza is one of the best professors at Broward College. His style of teaching was to encourage everyone in the class to participate in class discussions, classroom Jeopardy type games, and fun class projects.

I took him in a blended class that met only 1 hour and 15 minutes eveery week. You must be prepared before coming to class because the entire class is a rapid question and answer session where the professor will ask you questions over the chapter assigned to read before the class. READ the chapter as he says before class .

His tests have only questions that have appeared on the class quizzes. One quiz every week taken online any time during the week, and 3 tests. This was a blended class partially online and also had face to face lectures half of the time. I work fulltime, so this was good for me. Good professor.

I love it when a teacher shows that they really know the subject. Dr. Muza knows his stuff!!! Great teacher and nice enough guy. He seems to really care if you are learning.

I took oceanography because I needed it for my A.A. degree. Good class and professor.

Took this course fully online and it was a breeze. 1-2 exams weekly (15 total) and optional discussions. Grade is determined based on average of all 15 exams and discussions can be used for extra credit if necessary. Great class.

Good professor and class if you like geology and even if you do not you will learn a lot.

Excellent class. Dr Muza loves geology. He wants you to understand the how and why of geology and not just regurgitate facts. If you are a geology major or need this class for another major, make sure you take it with dr Muza. I had another geology class years ago. Dr. Muzas class was off the chain compared to that one

World class instruction on global climate change from a professor who has done climate change research. Checking into the possibility of an internship with him.

I love him..... He made this semester smooth and understands students who are not majoring in this subject. Take him you won't regret it. He is awesome.

While this professor seems like he's great, the class itself is awful! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF IT IS VIDEO-BASED. There is no homework, but there are only five times you meet in the semester. You teach everything yourself online and there are only two tests: one worth 50%, the other worth 50%. Time consuming and hard. Don't take it.

This class is for self discipline students. you will learned but you have to do a lot of reading on your own. It was the easies class I ever took.

One of the most patient teachers and is very fair. He is encouraging and creates an atmosphere of teamwork and the class feels like a family. Great professor and I would be happy to have him as a teacher again.

He was very patient and easy going. I was scared of this class but this professor taught it well enough that I was able to achieve an "A".

He seems to care that you learn about the oceans. Spends most of class reviewing the reading assignments that he says you must do before he talks about it. Does not put up with nonsense and whiney people in class so some do not like him

I took this class this semester for a mini term, 6 weeks. I had 3 tests, 1 was at home and 2 in class. All tests are based on the practice test so, do them. The answers are on quizlett. Easiest class ever

Amazing professor! He helped everyone pass his class by giving lots of extra credit. There are only 3 test but he helps you pass by giving all the necessary notes and gives extra credit as well!
