The class is extremely enjoyable, and he makes the learning environment fun. He is a great Prof. and i would highly recommend him to others. If you like missing class this is not the right class for you, Being in class is the key to passing his test, and course.

you can read the book and not show up to class, but you're likely to fail. His tests are based off of class room lectures.

I liked this profesor. He does a good job. Who in the world would expect to not come to class and pass a it. You're an idiot whoever wrote that. This profesor does his job. No one should put him down.

You may or may not agree with his politics. But school is all about learning from teachers who challenge us and the way we think. He actually teaches! So how can you complain? I enjoyed his class and never found myself looking at the clock. If you come to class and take notes you should have no problems earning a great grade. Very nice teacher.

Funny guy, class takes a little effort(one research paper)besides that there's no homework except reading. He make the class interesting. I would highly recomend him for Intro to Enviromental Science.

Hahaha. He talks about**** alot. He lives on a boat. He has 3 kids. Well, you learn more about him than anything in his classes. YOU WILL HATE THE 6 PAGE MID-TERM PAPER probably.

Very Funny Guy- He make the class intresting! You only have one paper you have to do, and besides that, the rest is a piece of cake.

He is an excellent teacher, but you have to listen. He doesn't follow the book and you must listen and take notes. However, he is more than willing to help you if you ASK. Little to no homework, expects you to be a college student.

Not your traditional science class, but really great, gives a different perspective. Teacher presents facts from different views, although you might not agree, he gives you plenty room to argue. Tests are quite easy, mostly from lectures, term paper is easy A if you devote some time to it and essays aren't big deal either. I learned a lot here.

This teacher is an excellent lecturer. Knowledgable, intelligent and interesting. If you are willing to pay attention and learne, it is an easy A. If you dont want to think, don't take this class. The tests are hard, if you did not do your work. Easy for those who did<like me>Read text+ pay attention+ study b4 test 2 hrs=A+ You will learne alot.

the class is interesting as well as the book. The tests are outragously hard even if you study for hours. He makes them up himself so forget it!! I passed with a B and alot of sweat and tears.

Great class! Listen and take good notes. He goes over entire test beforehand. I highly recommend this class.

Not the easiest class, but I think Prof O. is great! He treats you the same as the world does, doesn't sugar-coat life, the students need to deal. You don't have to agree with him, but he makes some really good points if you listen. I'll be taking another of his classes and I can't wait!

AWESOME teacher!! i was not interested in the subject at all going into it but he compleatly changed my mind!! he is the best teacher i have ever had by far!! HIGHLY recommended!! He is veerryy interesting and extreamly smart!! take notes and you will be fine!

Professor Odaffer is a pretty good teacher. As long as you show up and do all the work he assigns (which isn't alot) then you should get an A. I would recomend him.

Show up+take good notes=A or high B on tests. No final exam. 7pgs of Research Paper is 15% of your grade (definitely do it if you want an A). 4 mini critique essay for 4 of8 articles. He is funny when trying to relate the lecture to life so you can grasp it better. Single parents are allowed to bring their kids to class with prior permission.

If you're looking for an easy A take the new Geology course! Lots of practical information that you can actually USE in life! And I'm not a science person! If you show up and do the extra credit work you'll have no problems! Yeah, he's got his opinions, but he encourages you to think about yours from a new stand point.

Excellent teacher! A bit rough around the edges, expects you to act like a college student. Very opinionated, but he WILL provide facts to back himself up. Really, all you have to do is follow the directions, pay attention, and show interest. I learned a LOT in this class.

Has a problem with listening. Pretty cool if you don't give him any cause to get upset- he'll hold a grudge against you for a while if you do. Just listen to him even if you don't completely agree. it's not worth the difficulty to argue.

Excellent teacher. He comes to class ready to help his students become competent and successful in their educational journey. He adds real life experience and knowledge to the heart of his teaching. He encourages students to bring facts and data to back up their discussions. If you cross your arms and pout, he will factually shut you down. A+

odaffer is the man he is not worried about being politicly correct. and not afriad to make idiots look like idiots, kinda stirick but i would recomend him.

He's not as bad as some people make him sound. He is very opinionated - but to be fair, he is very educated and has good reason to have an opinion. He tests on only what he teaches in class. Go and pay attention and you will pass.

Odaffer is a serious prof. He feels that if you're paying to attend class, you should get something out of it. I've taken 3 classes w/ him (and I'm a girl). He can be a little sarcastic, but most adults can handle it. If you actually want an education, Odaffer is the only way to go! I recommend him to everyone!

He is an excellent and well informed teacher with many years of teaching under his belt. He is knowledgeable (extremely) on the stuff taught and challenges the student to think. If a student is looking for an easy class, easy A, his is not that class. If you want a challenge, see him.

Take notes! They will save your grade every time. He tells you exactly what is on the tests. If you study you'll get an A. Great professor very funny keeps you interested in the course.

Out of all my years of being in class, I have learned the most from Prof. Odaffer. Wonderful, knowledgeable, sense of humor and a genuine love of teaching/helping students. Teaches straight off the powerpoints and always tells you what will be on the test. Watch out for those trick questions!

Great Prof. he is entertaining and knows his subject inside and out. He is very clear on his expectations, and he gives you ALL of the answers to the tests before-hand. Just take notes and you will be fine.

Mr. Odaffer is pretty cool. He is very knowledgeable of his topic. He does us sarcasm, and picks on students, but not too much.... we sometimes. But he's pretty funny. His tests are pretty straight forward. The main assignment that's the most strenuous is his Term Paper. He's very strict about that!

Odaffer is a great professor! He's hilarious and relates a lot of things to food. He's willing to answer any questions, no matter how dumb they are. He's really knowledgeable and will go over things until you understand them. Make sure you hold on to all old tests and papers though because he lost a few of my grades, thankfully I had kept them all!

Good teacher, just listen to the lecture and take notes, come to class every day. Doesn't put up with grade 13ers

This guy knows his stuff. He has been around. If you didn't get anything out of his class, you are sleeping, or just plain slow. If you feel like an idiot in his class, is it you or him. Let's see now, you just graduate high school and think you are in grade 13, so the teacher make you look dumb? May me you are.

This guy knows his stuff, but you must study, take note and show up for class. Each day he teaches to the test, If you are a grade 13er, skip this one. If you can't think well take an easier class.

Odaff is a highly intelligent individual who will enlighten and educate you on real world past and present issues. Gives 3 months for research paper. Gives test answers during lectures so don't skip class. Put your cell on vibrate also. Whiny kids need to realize this is COLLEGE not high school, which means it's the profs way or the highway. =)

I never thought I would be excited about geology; yet I looked forward to Mr. Odaffer's lectures every week. What I really appreciate about him is how he manages to turn something like learning sediment sizes into a fascinating topic. His lectures are engaging and informative. He expects a lot out of his class, and it was an (enjoyable) challenge.

This guy knows his stuff! If you don't do well in the class it is because you don't or can't read the text or you skip class. He teachs to the test.

He is a wonderful teacher, his lectures are very straightforward and he explains everything so well, If someone doesn't understand a concept, he has no problem repeating information or giving extra help. He made learning about Oceanography very fun and enjoyable.

Professor Odaffer is the best professor ever and teaches Geology so well! He's enthusiastic, to the point, and seems intellectual about materials that pertain to his Geology course. I like his methods of teaching!

He comes across really rude at first, but i after a few classes you get used to it. Hes a great teacher and makes learning fun and is clear when he teaches. environmental science is an awesome class!

He is a little rough around the edges. However, learned a great deal in his class. Geology applies to our every day world. Would recommend, learned so much, could explain Nat Geo show to my husband when before I would have slept through it. Not an easy class. Loved it!!!!

Odaffer was the man. He made everything relate to eachother so well, it stuck. not to mention the way he makes his tests is perfectly in line with the lectures. As far as i can see the only people who dont like him are the easily offended. he makes these classes fun, and i was always interested in whatever next class would bring

People who don't like this instructor are typically the ones who randomly show up and dont do the work. I came to every class did the work and passed VERY VERY easily. The tests are beyond easy! He is a very educated, interesting person too... wish I could take more classes with him as my instructor.

He makes the rules CLEAR on day 1 and follows through on them. even threw a kid out for texting (applause). I normally don't like science classes, but found his class to be refreshing and fun. He does not sit at the front of the room and talk about the text book. He makes science real and interesting. Show up, do the work, get the A. easy.

Ok, 1st day thought he was a jerk because he was a bit harsh. Realized day 2 that is to weed out the ones who dont want to do the work. It worked, those people didnt return and class was great. He is easy, just do the work. Like that he doesnt like cells in class while he is talking. Take the class, get an A for doing the labs.

Bring the book daily, he comes off hard but after the mid point his true colors show (funny, easy) Will drop you for attendance. I would take him again. Study for tests, he puts some silly questions in there about his office and family so LISTEN to him and VISIT his office and look around it.

Great Professor will and does go the extra mile. While at SCF I took every course he had to fill up my credits to get some more polish on my science. Instead of taking the crap courses like art appreciation. Take his courses and learn some science. Tell him that Bear sent you and you will get a good chuckle from him.

This professor is awesome, and fair. If you come to class half the time adn like to text in lecture prepare to get embaressed. You have been warned. If you show up to learn and are prepared to give at least a 50 percent effort, you will ace the course no problem. If you are a cheater, ha ha. Try it. I dare you.
