The best teacher ever! SO funny! Makes you want to come to class! Tells personal stories that are hillarious & relate to the topic. Teaching style is excellent & you learn alot. Real easy & attendance is NOT required.
he loves to talk about sex. he somehow incorporates it into all of his topics. funny guy... just loves sex a little much too much.
The best teacher! He tells great stories of being a parent, husband, son, boyfriend, etc. to help explain topic. Says the study of religion is like the study of relationships. I believe it!
Funniest. Teacher. Ever.
Super funny and really interesting. I thought religion would be boring but I'm thinking of majoring in it because of him. You gotta take his class!
hilarious and charismatic. learning can be fun!
Super funny. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Tests are kinda hard, 200 point T or F test, in my opinion. You'll get what I mean when you actually recieve the test. Tells a lot of memorable stories that tie into Relgion. Great teacher.
he is a nice funny guy and always has something funny to say to keep you awake. he knows and loves his subject and relates it to everyday life.
Definitely the best professor I've had in my three semesters here. I laugh so much sometimes I forget to take notes!
He make it easy to understand religion by using real life analogies. He is really funny and enthusiastic.
I thought the topic would be boring but this is the best class ever! Super interesting and his teaching style is awesome!
Jay is one of the best teachers at LCC. I had 4 different REL classes with him. I'm not really interested in the subject, I just love his stories and his sense of humor.
I love Jay. He relates the material to his personal life experiences. He's kind of dorky but he's really funny and he knows his subject.
Jay is the most funniest professor I ever had, Never fails to make me laugh every class. His teaching technique are well organized and class learning is a blast!it's true, he is kinda "dorky" but he's so cool!, he's better than all my male teachers combined...Highly recommend!
People I talked to before I registered for the class all said he was great. He really is! You learn alot and his stories are the best! He is also easy to look at!
Jay is da bomb. I never wanted to miss any of his classes. even though I do not need religion, I am still tkaing his class just because. He is funny and makes class simple. The actual content is sort of strange but he tries to bring things to our level to help us understand. everyone should take at least one of his classes. AWESOME!!
super cool teacher...fun class
Jay is awesome. Strange sense of humor but still funny. I took one class already with him so I met the requirements in the A&H portion but I would take it again just because. Just go to class and take notes and you will be able to pass. All multiple choice test. And 'C' is never the best choice in Jays test. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE AT LEAST ONE CLASS.
Super hilarious!! Never a dull moment. Always laughter in class. Easy to pass.
Jay cracks me up. He really knows how to entertain an audience. Especially with all his stories about his family and his old love letters from his EX. Highly recommended. Just go class and take lots of notes and you'll be fine. Easy A, if you attend class everyday
There are some things that Jay teaches that are not true, he says that we must look at the bible from a scholarly perspective, and yet from a scholarly perspective we don't see the interpretations from the bible from a Christian point of view which is unscholarly.
This class is super fun. It's just lecture and exams. You do have to read the text book for the exams, but it is only a small portion of the exam anyway. Jay is really funny and tells great stories too.
JAY is the best Religion Teacher!!!!!! I never thought he could so funny. Every class I always end up laughing. Especially his stories of his EX, family, and his MOTHER IN LAW. I say take him because you'lll find reigion more intresting anf learn more!!!!!
jay could quite possibly be the best teacher i've ever had. this guy is hilarious and never fails to make the class interesting. he uses very good examples that help you to comprehend different concepts. you can tell jay genuinely knows his subject and is always willing to answer questions. his three quizzes are a little difficult however.
Jay was a master at effortlessly weaving great stories into the material. The stories were usually hysterical but sometimes very touching, especially the ones about his kids. But the most important thing is that they helped make great points about religion. Some students brought boyfriends and girlfriends to the class just to listen. Tests kinda to
He makes Religion very fun and interesting. I thought the calss was going to be boring. Boy, was I wrong. He will crack you up every day. He uses very good examples and there are only three test. Great teacher. Take him, you wont be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!
Handled controversial subject matter (especially when students wanted to challenge him) with ease and made it super enjoyable for those of us who are not religious fanatics. I wasn't interested in religion but I appreciate it more because of this class. Awesome.
Super funny guy! He teaches thru great stories! Awesome!
He really makes you WANT to come to class. You don't want to miss any lecture of his. He's a very talented teacher.
He's a very entertaining teacher. He'll make you enjoy every minute of his class. Very funny. Uses life stories to relate to religion. Tests are hard and kind of tricky. Just gotta study hard.
Really funny professor who makes you want to attend the class regularly.
Professor Jay is da bomb! The bestest class ever! Super fun and totally interesting class.
One of the greatest teachers I've ever had. He is da bomb! He teaches with enthusiasm and incorporates real-life experiences that relate to the religion. He has his Doctorate. His grading policy is fair because it gives credit to those students who attend class, rather than those who drop in just for the exam. He's very FUNNY! Awesome teacher
very interesting teacher. knows his stuff. makes religion intersting. if he were a pastor i would attend church everyday. keeps his bias out of the way and doesn't try to force religion.
Took a class from a few years ago. He's one of two professors I remember from LCC. Has a great personality and I still remember a lot of things I learned in his class, which is pretty useful in a course I am taking now. Good to see that Jay is still doing the good work.... Take a religion class from him if you have the chance
Makes class fun to attend. Has funny stories to make topics understandable. Exams are based entirely from lecture notes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives 15 quizzes a semester, which is 15% of your grade. Church profile & a group project are big parts of your grade, but not hard at all.
HILARIOUS. I LOVE GOING TO HIS CLASS. HE GIVES YOU THE BEST LAUGHS FOR THE DAY. HE MAKES YOUR DAY. however, his exams are ridiculously HARD. but he grades on a curve. i recommend you taking good notes and doing the book work a head of time to give you enough quality time to study.
Jay ROCKS. Even if you don't have to take religion, I highly recommend it! He keeps the material interesting, uses his life stories to make you understand things better. Grades on a CURVE. Take good notes for the exam; the syllabus has all the questions you need to study. End project is pretty easy, too. =) You definitely learn a lot.
The only class I looked forward coming to last semester. He has a way of teaching that makes the information stay with you long after the semester is over. I still remember stuff even if I don't want to!
great teacher! really funny! grades pretty fair, you dont need your text book to pass, as long as you listen in class and take good notes. He has such a great personality! you wouldnt regret taking his class and you actually learn a lot from religion!
HE is very.. funny and energetic, you don't really need the textbook, he'll make you laugh and at the same time you'll learn religions from all around the world.
This teacher is very fair. As long as you pay attention you'll pass easily. The great thing is that he grades on a curve so if everyone else does bad then its good news for you. Jay is very very funny and his stories he tells helps you remember the material a little better. I would highly recommend this class if you want to have fun. ^_^
Jay is an excellent instructor. Lectures are key to passing his class. Make sure u ask choke questions during review time. Do religious profile ahead of time so you don't have to scramble to get it done in the end of the semester. Second time taking his course - passionate, clear, and respectful instructor!!
Mr. Sakashita is one of the BEST religion instructors. He's very helpful, fair, and understanding. He really makes you want to go to class. He always comes to class cheerful and with hilarious stories. I definitely recomend this teacher.
this guy is hilarious. such an entertaining class, makes the material interesting and easier to understand and remember. don't need to buy textbook at the bookstore, he made his own little booklet that he gives you for 20 bucks, and its super helpful. every lecture/notes he writes on the board is in that book. study booklet for exam and do fine!
Be warned, he is a funny as hell teacher, but he takes his religion class very seriously and you'll find out come exam time, he grades on a curve-highest score sets the bar suckers. Take notes in correspondence to his note booklet and study your notes and you can get score high.
he is GREAT!take this class! you'll learn a ton and have fun while doing so! study for the tests. don't count on the curve to save you because one high score can skew the whole thing. study his notes that he gives you and you'll do great. he's so funny!
He's an awesome teacher! He does his lectures like he's just talking stories w/ the students. He does grade you on a curve which is kinda bad, but seriously! The worse you could do (if you want to fail) is not come class and don't participate in the quizzes and exam.
He is very entertaining and funny but beware when it comes to exam time because his exams are super hard. Be sure to use the study guide, this will help alot.
this was my WORST class. He's a VERY funny and entertaining but his exams are SOO hard. It was pointless to study, no matter how much i memorize, the exams feels so diff. from notes. grades on a curve thank god or i would've failed the class. curve bumps ur grade up two letters, for me anyway. study guides not helpful at all!as long as u try,TRUSTME
He's the best prof. I've had by far. Makes a boring and difficult subject interesting and fun so that you want to learn more. Getting a good grade is not difficult at all. Just come to class and pay attention. You'll do well and learn stuff. All my friends have taken Prof. Jay and they all like him too!
This was a super class! Jay used videos, games, stories, field trips, and group presentations to teach the class. He is justa knowledgeable guy who is down to earth and fun. He keeps it real.
Jay is one of the best teachers at LCC. I had 3 different REL classes with him. I'm not really interested in the subject, I just love his stories and his sense of humor.
My favorite professor in my 5 semesters at LCC! You'll love this class guaranteed.
Jay Sakashita is one of the funniest professors ever. He grades Religion 150 on a curve, so make sure to score better than all your classmates. It's difficult to get below a C unless you don't attend class, or you sleep through it.
This guy makes you want to come to class everyday because you don't want to miss it. You'll really enjoy religion even though its a boring topic.
It's religion to the music of the '80s! He can't sing but he is great at teaching. Yeah, class is fun but don't be fooled, you gotta study for the exam.
This is THE religion class to take. All the notes for the exams are in the textbook, but it'd be a sin to skip his lectures. He has an entertaining teaching style; one that will make you eager to attend his classes. And "garranz bo barranz" you'll be telling all your little friends his wonderful jokes and stories. Your life will be so much happier.
The BEST lecturer ever! The stories stay with you way after the class is over. I will always think of the bible as a mirror for acne!
I LOVE THIS TEACHER! he's funny and teaches really good. he's the type of teacher that really makes you say "now this is what college is about"... you get your monies worth. & he uses his past and present life to help teach. he made my college experince fun. :)
SUPER HOT and very funny. Sometimes I want to get out of class because I'm laughing too hard. His stories are hilarious. However, his tests are super hard and difficult. Don't get fooled by his questions. His class is fun though
Probably the funniest professor I have ever had!! Some people get annoyed because he will go off on hilarious stories, but they always somehow help you remember the information. I always looked forward to this class! SO ENTERTAINING!!! I would definitely recommend Jay! :D
i LOVE him. he is one of the best professors I've ever had and however he does it he really makes the material interesting and it is easy for me to learn it. I would tell anybody to take his class and i would take it again if i could!!
I love his enthusiasm, he?s always energized which pumps up the class and he?s very interactive?he?s fricken awesome and I can?t wait to take another one of his classes next semester!
Personally, I think Jay Sakashita is the one the best teachers at LCC. Everyday in class is comedy hour. Must take his class if your going to LCC.Two thumbs up
JAY IS PHENOMENAL! He explains everything so ALL students will DEFINIETELY understand. Not to mention, the entire period is similar to watching amateur comedy hour(except he's one of those prof's who are ACTUALLY funny, which makes it very easy to learn and remember). Took both religion classes he has to offer [151 & 204WI] - totally worth it!!!!
VERY ENTERTAINING professor! Its obvious that he knows his material and that he loves what he does. He makes things interesting and uses REAL LIFE examples to relate to the topics. Absolutely GREAT choice in taking up this class. Textbook is a handbook of notes and so everything you need to know is in the text. Three exams, possible extra credit.
Need to CHANGE previous rankings to HIGHEST levels!
Awesome professor, hands down. His lectures are very clear and he uses real life experiences to explain concepts. However, his tests are kind of tricky.
Extremely funny Professor. This was the only class I would always look forward to because it was pure comedy. He gives you easy quizzes that you don't want to miss so go to class everyday. His exams are pretty tricky but as long as you read the handbook of notes and do the study questions you should be fine. He grades on a curve so watch out.
the best professor i've ever had!!!i always attended his class because i don't want to miss anything that he would say. Really funny!!!it's like you're just playing in his class but you're learning.
Professor Jay is the most interesting teacher in the world. Non stop halarity in his class and good looking. Hes super helpful and very friendly, hands down the best teacher.
Professor is nothing like you have experienced before, he is dynamic, he is never boring, the class time goes by too fast, he is always on time. He is funny, smart, and intriguing, he is a welcome to the profession. He is always there if you need help or assistance. He loves what he does and he wrote his own book for the class, it is like a BIBLE!!
I took his Rel 150, 200, 201, and his 204! Why? Because he is very energetic, dynamic, never boring. He knows is stuff and he covers so many aspect of Religion. If he taught more classes, i would take it all since I already took all of his. He is very interesting and try him, you too will take his classes. He makes the class fun and exciting!!!!!!!
Excellent teacher! Keeps you interested in the class the whole time. He always makes sure to keep the class laughing and he doesn't put anything on the exam that we don't go over in class. If you plan on taking religion take him.
HILARIOUS!!! And not to mention easy... just study for the exams a little to stay on top of things.
He is awesome! One of the best classes that I took at LCC. He makes the material very interesting and he is very funny. I learned A LOT on his classes. His exams are not the easiest ones, you gotta know the material, however, hes very fair and wont trick u on questions. His mother-in-law is his favorite joke and believe me, you will crack up w/ it!
I absolutely LOOOVE his class! Very energetic, talkative, and he tells jokes to the class everytime he's teaching. If you ask a question, he will answer it until you finally understand the concept. I never thought I'd love this class, but the way he teaches makes me want to go. Quizzes are easy also! His textbook was actually written by him..awesom
awesome and awesome teacher. He can be hilarious. very confident and I enjoyed his teaching. thanks
He is funny and makes class really interesting by telling everyone life stories of himself that is relatable to the context that he teachers. I recommend him unless you dislike a teacher who tells stories.
He's hilarious! He's a story teller, so he gives a lot of easy-to-understand examples from his personal experiences. No homework... Ever. However, his exams are long and HEAVY; really study your notes before hand. Fun class. This class is NOT only for religious people, so don't get offended if he starts to speak about your own.
This guy is the man. He rarely assigned homework even if this class was considered a WI. Attendance doesn't affect your grade. Tests are multiple choice. Overall very entertaining and makes class more interesting. Definitely recommend him !
He's SUPER funny and his lectures are the best. But BEWARE...his tests are no joke! thank god for the curve, cause the exams are very difficult.
Hilarious professor! But his exams are somewhat hard. Just make sure you study the prepared questions that are in the textbook and you'll actually do fine. There are pop quizzes and they're usually one question & also open notes. Recommend taking his class!
I actually study hard for his exams and yet i still get a bad grade. Luckily he grades his exams on a curve so it bumps you up almost 2 letter grades. There are also pop quizzes which are easy but annoying if you do not attend class regularly. Aside from that, he is literally hilarious. It feels like a stand up comedy show haha.
"Garans ball-barans" He will be your favorite professor! He takes a mundane & seemingly boring subject & makes it highly entertaining for students. You will want to come to class each time because he really is a comedian that knows the information of the World Religions. Quizzes are open-book & there is extra credit!
Professor Jay is the best at teaching religion. He makes his class dynamic. He cares about religion and makes it easy to understand. He makes a point to have faith in a religion. His class really opened my mind to the different religions around the world. I learn so much. I wish I can take more of his classes. He is best.
I recommend this class and this Professor. He is very knowledgeable and interested in his subject. He makes you want to learn about the subject of Religion. He is also entertaining. ") Make sure you study for his exams or you will do poorly. They maybe multiple choice, but his exams will make your head spin . Study! Beware do the extra credit!!
3 noncumulative mc exams, 1 2,000-word profile on a local temple, 5 400-word journal entries. Jay's lectures are always hilarious. He makes complex concepts easy to understand. Exams are only tough bc it's either you know it or you don't, but he gives study guides & reviews before an exam. Pretty easy class if you take good notes
i really learned a lot in this class. the professor relates the information to his family, daily life etc very entertaining. fun. i was auditing the class with the seed program.
Funny guy, great insights, sharp wit. Took Jay's class because of friends rec. Glad I did! Thinking of being a religion major b/c of this class.
Professor Jay is the best professor out there! He is so passionate about this subject and makes the class so entertaining! I would always look forward to it! You need to textbook to follow along, but its only $25! Take good notes and pay attention and the class will be a breeze!
I'm glad I took this class! Professor was very intriguing and didn't lose my attention during lectures. Textbook is 100% needed, whether or not you attend class. He's very helpful and lenient, but you should still pay attention. Easy class, as long as you keep up. I definitely recommend taking this religion 150 class!
Absolutely hilarious teacher that truly enjoys what he teaches. Very intelligent and knowledgable. I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed his class 1010 would recommend.
Awesome teacher. His lectures on the materials are in depth with stories and reasoning that makes it easier to understand whatever religion he is lecturing on at the moment. Attendance not mandatory, but we show up just for his stories. Most of his stories are hilarious, but he tells a few sad ones that'll make your heart sink. Amazing speaker.
Really great lectures that make it easier to memorize all the material. Super easy class and very fun to be in.
Amazing professor that really gets into what he's teaching with a passion. He's hilarious and really drills the facts into your mind. I recommend this class to everyone.
This was a really great class, I feel like I learned a lot and I enjoyed coming in to listen to his lectures. Would definitely recommend. Exams were tough but going through the textbook really helped.
Professor Jay is a hilarious guy! I always look forward to his class. The way he teaches is extremely entertaining, however his exams are very hard! His textbook will be your best friend. He does assign unaware quizzes, but they are really easy to pass! (very very easy).
One word to describe Jay is HILARIOUS! Always made the class laugh, and I have always looked forward to his class. And the best part is, even though he may joke around a lot, it is clear that he is very knowledgeable in religion. Did great at linking religious concepts to todays world, and how we could use it to better ourselves. A must take!
His test are very different!! But Good Professor, Iots to learn
Tests are supposed to be hard. That's why they're called "tests". No wonder people here are like this. Prof. tries hard to make class interesting.
Funny at times but very test heavy. You have about 4 tests in the semester and at times seemed to be tricky. You buy a book that he wrote which is nice, because he literally has all your notes for you.
His stories and the way he explains things make me want to come to class. I actually look forward to going to class. I can't believe I would ever say that, but it's so true. Other people in class feel the same way too.
He's very funny like everybody said, but he also says very meaningful things that are quite moving. Makes you appreciate life and relationships. Problem is I sometimes listen more to the stories than the religion content.
Prof Jay is such a great teacher. I had him for an online class, so we mostly did 3 main papers, online discussions, 3 exams, a small fun group project and a religious profile paper. Make sure you read the textbook and watch all the videos because the exams can be a little hard. But he is very passionate about this subject and he is very funny too.
If you show up to class everyday the pop quizzes should be easy. Exams are hard. I recommend you write the textbook down on a word doc or google docs, command f, then search the word your looking for (helps pass the exams). His one project requires you to visit 5 different places of worship, due on the last day you have his class.
Probably one the best and life changing professors I have ever had. If you ever get a chance to take him please do. His lectures are like he's telling a story and he makes his own little textbook to follow along to. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Jay is a one man show during class! He lectures every class but keeps your attention with stories, acting things out and funny/lame puns & dad jokes. Religion is a fairly confusing topic but his lecturing style really helps me to understand the material better. If you consider yourself easily offended, he might not be the best for you. I had fun
Jay is AMazing! Always looked forward to his class because he always made us laugh. And the best part is, even though he makes class fun, he is very knowledgeable in religion and really knows his stuff. He's great at connecting religious ideas to todays world, and how we could use it to better ourselves. Take this class! You'll love it!
He is just so amazing!!!
This class was amazing easy A
If you skip too many classes, your grade goes down and you'll fail. But lectures are fun so you won't want to. He always jokes in his speaking and quotes songs. His quizzes, puzzles, and scavenger hunts are easy and kinda fun. Exams are probably the most difficult part of the class but still easy enough. !Do not go on your phone in his class! Lol
Love him! Hes hilarious and makes learning fun. 10/10 recommend. Hes the kind of teacher that actually cares about his students. Very understanding as well, if you miss class, all you have to do is email him and its all good. Hes literally the best!
TAKE NOTES ON EVERYTHING HE SAYS!!! A very funny and inspiring professor but there are a lot of pop quizzes and the exams are really hard. If you want to succeed, you best take notes on every single thing that he says, LITERALLY. However, he is very understanding, so reach out to him. Other than that, there is one final project, which is easy A.
This instructor is amazing. Professor Jay genuinely cares for his students and his passion for the subject clearly shows. Professor Jay was fun, engaging and interactive from day one. He makes (funny and serious) comparisons to real life situations that students can relate to and keeps everyone engaged. He keeps things fresh and lively in class.
I've never had a teacher like him before. When he goes over each religion, there was always something in his life to relate it towards and he just makes learning the subject so interesting to the point where, I didn't even realize that class was done until he tells us.
Loved this professor. One of the best I've ever taken. If you need to take a class for the FG requirement, I definitely recommend Prof Jay. He makes religion interesting bc he relates it to his own life. He tests on the book he wrote, which is actually interesting to read bc he is hilarious. Very understanding & it showed during this pandemic.
Loved the instructor! He was very funny and enthusiastic and it was so interesting how he can incorporate his life and make it into a fun way to teach. I think all teachers should be like this so we, students, can look forward to coming to class every day.
My first year of college was really disorganized but my REL 150 course made me feel that some courses are worth it and are actually educating and fun at the same time. A lot of the credit would go towards my professor who made this class so fun and made the lectures feel it wasn't even an hour long. Overall, this class is a 10/10 recommend!!
Professor Jay is probably the funniest professor I had this semester. His teaching style is unique from others; instead of straight forward lectures that can sometimes be confusing and mundane, Dr. Jay tells relevant stories to help his students understand the complex topics in religion. His teaching method is very effective and refreshing.
Professor Jay is an excellent instructor. This course was meant to be taught in person, but due to Covid-19, couldnt be done. I think he did an excellent job. I enjoyed his lessons as he provided detailed explanations, videos, and resources. Professor Jay was very passionate in teaching. He worked hard, and I appreciated that greatly.
Professor Jay was very understanding, he was able to relate to our struggles of having online classes and did do his best to make accommodations to make it work out for everyone. I don't think I had a teacher this kind and understanding and also he was very humorous. He keeps the lessons entertaining and enjoyable by slipping jokes into the lesson.
He is very wise and knowledgeable about different religions. He makes learning fun and finds creative ways to earn points in his class. He is very humorous and I really loved his class!
Lectures are based off of his textbook, that he wrote by the way, that doesn't cost an arm and leg. Proff. J is hilarious and makes the best out of every class. His lectures are very engaging and Hawaii style where he gets lost making the point because of the stories he tells on the way. I recorded every lecture and went back to double check. 10/10
Prof Jay has a passion for this topic. He was a Buddha for us. He gives useful feedback so you know he has really read your writing. He coaxes you in a very personable way. I appreciate his intellectualism combined with humility and humor. He was like a coach for our class and individually too. He is definitely the best professor I have.
Professor J is an excellent teacher. He is obviously connected to the subject matter, and passionate about sharing his knowledge with his students. Be prepared for lots of Dad jokes! I would definitely recommend taking detailed lecture notes. The exams were a little more difficult than I expected, but you'll be fine if you use the study guides.
Prof Jay is one of the best teachers I ever had. He is very understanding. He gives quiz every week but its super easy if you done the readings and listen to his videos. His class book for this class is his book he wrote and its super cheap $20. He gives 3 exams which is multiple choice and he gives you a preview of the questions thats on exam.
His lectures are very funny and makes class very enjoyable. Easy class, you just need to do the activities he sometimes assigns. He takes off a couple of your lowest grades from his grade book. I would say his exams are pretty tricky, so study. He gives study guides and on his syllabus he has the end of the year project so you can start early
I did not like his teaching style. He jokes around too much. The study guides include information that he does not teach until after the practice test. The weekly assignments are too tricky. He does not set us up for success. Class was a waste of my time and money. He should have zoom classes to make it more personal. Would never take another class
I liked how much care he put into this class. The professor tried hard. He really made religion interesting for me and he is so funny! He also lets you take the tests again so you can get a higher score. I'm not into religion and I didn't care about the topic before but now I see it differently and how important it is. I'm glad for the class.
There's no boring zoom class lectures. He makes alot of his own videos that are funny and you learn. The assignments are easy but sometimes tricky if you don't know the answers. He always gives a positive message at the end of the lessons. I wasn't doing well for awhile and he let me take the test again to get a better grade.
In his lecture videos, he makes tons of jokes and goes off topic with story telling. So when I wanted to re-watch 40min videos for studying/answers, I had to sift through a lot of unnecessary stuff. I appreciate laid back professors, and he seems like a good guy, but the way he teaches and organizes content made it super difficult to study imo.
I am very surprised that I this guy was that bad given his rating but the biggest red flag was the first day of class, when i realized that we had to buy a book he wrote for this course. Thats one way to boost your book sales. Anywho, the guy cracks jokes so I guess he can be funny but I would hands down never take him again.
I am grateful that I had this class. The professor is so understanding towards his students. He never forgets to tell us to take care and never beat ourselves with our academics. His class and wisdom never failed to motivate me to try and do well with my academics. The prof may not know it, but he made such a significant impact on me as a student.
From the very first day, this class did not disappoint but surpassed my expectations! I genuinely looked forward to watching the lectures and hearing the jokes. It made learning much more fun and entertaining and it also made learning the content easier. This class has definitely changed my perspective about this world and the people living in it.
I want to take back what i said about this professor. I was going thru a tough time when I said those things. He was very understanding with my situation and helped me even though he didn't have to. The class was still not so easy for me but now I understand things alot better.
Professor Jay is awesome! He was very knowledgeable, fair, understanding, and funny. I enjoyed the weekly thoughts he shared with us, preparing/reminding us what was ahead. He engaged with the class which helped me and others succeed and stay interested. His entertaining and thought provoking way of teaching was a change for me in teaching style.
This class did not disappoint but surpassed my expectations! I genuinely looked forward to the fun lectures as it made learning was much more enjoyable and made things easier to learn. This prof has definitely changed my perspective about the world and the people living in it. Prof Jay is by far, my favorite professor! He's inspired me so much.
I took Jay's class right as the pandemic started so about halfway through we switched to online teachings (they were extraordinarily detailed and consistent lessons but I personally could not adapt...hence the F). Jay is a superb teacher and he deserves nothing but respect. I will never forget his lectures. Do yourself a favor and take his course.
Prof Jay is kindhearted, uplifting, and super funny! His positive messages really motivates me and his humor just makes my day. I like that he let's you do every test twice and takes whatever score is higher. He had a difficult time in college so he understands people who struggle with school like me. I'm glad I took his class.
Professor Jay is very funny, organized, and wise! Be prepared for videos (usually 5-45 minutes), 2-4 articles for every lecture, and puzzles/riddles. There are 2 exams and you have 3 tries (with him taking the highest score). Provides very few extra credit, so make sure to study for exams and complete assignments on time. The project is super easy!
Professor Jay is entertaining yet organized. The class involves videos, articles, and puzzles. Exams have 3 tries, but extra credit is limited. The project is easy. unstuck study proved super helpful for studying alongside the textbook.
- About 6 Quizes/Exams - Assignments weekly: Puzzles, scavenger hunts ***He only opens it for the day and usually it needs to be turned in by that night. - If you miss it, 0. He will not reopen. - No make up work - You need to watch and read the material to answer the hw. - He makes a lot of jokes, sometimes that's the answer. - 4 Discussion
Oaky, I've never been a good student. Just don't care for school much. But Professor J helped me a lot. He lets us take every test 3 times and then he takes our best score. He lets us miss two homework's just because he understands I struggle with things. He cares and made me want to try hard. So happy when I got a B for the class!
I really enjoyed the class! He made it so easy to follow and I honestly learned a lot during the semester! I hope to take another religion class in the future just for insight!
I enjoyed it way more than I thought and I honestly have a deeper appreciation for religion. He puts his heart and genuine feelings into what he does and it causes a ripple effect. I came to this class as an atheist but this course genuinely healed the religious trauma I suffered and now I don't look down on people who devote their lives to god.
