Great teacher does not assign homework or give tests. He is clear you just need to take notes and he is pretty funny i learned alot sorry the other people that wrote about him did not!!!!

I loved him! He had a helpful dictionary and stayed later if we had a difficult time he would help us! DEF. Take him!

He treats students as adults instead of like some teachers who mandate the students every move in class. He is fun, and entertaining in class. I hated math, but seem to really get it from him, great teacher and very helpful if you ask for the help. I am taking him again for my next class, I would recommend!

Wow easiest class i have had since elementary school. You don't have test, or homework. We had one quiz but we got to pick the problems the class before and it was only 5 problems. If you miss any he gives you the answer and lets you correct it. He teaches at archer but its worth the drive. All you have is the final.

I've known Weininger since high school. And like always he is a very misunderstood teacher. Most students aren't accustomed to his teaching method which requires you to teach yourself first and then get his help. As long as you put forth the effort, come to class and participate in his activities you will do fine.

Mr. Jay is a great teacher. He teaches you, but he also wants you to participate in the class as well. I would recommend anyone needing this class to take him. I took this class in 6 weeks which i never do in a math class and I passed. Take Him!!

He is not the easiest teacher to follow, as his method of teaching takes a lot of getting use to. But, he tries to make sure everyone understands. If you get lost, he will do his best to help you catch up before he moves too far ahead. Covers a lot of material before you master any of it, but overall his teaching method seems to be effective.

A misunderstood genius. Zen math in which students are required to think for themselves, which frightens the naysayers here. Professor Weinenger is a maverick instructor who imparts in students of math a sense of beauty, wonder, and fun. A great and rewarding experience.

When I first got in the class, I didn't expect to be put into a team to do work with for the rest of the semester. I was put off by that at first. But as I continued to show up, it became a fun and interesting course. A good experience. Yes, he was a bit fast paced but if you ask he will explain for you til you get it and understand. Take him!

This professor is very nice and you get to go at your own pace. He will help you when you need it. You get to make up your quizzes and the final. Also get to work in groups. Defiantly take this class if you are not great at math. This course deals with a lot of word problems!!! I got an A and math I not my strongest area.

Its a very self taught class.He explains it once then you have to do the learning.Splits you up in groups then you work on the problem together.Super nice guy wants to hear feedback from all of his students.He asks for students to write journals about the class and he reads them and improves the class over the semester. Would recommend this class.

Fabulous Instructor.Puts class in groups and you do all your work as a group.It helps if you don't understand.Leaves the learning up to you. Very Fair and laid back.If you have a question he will tell you to work within your group first.This help you to learn from others. Class was interesting. Not like a traditional math course, had to work in groups to solve problems and make up tests/the final. He won't remind you about turning in journals or keeping work to turn into your portfolio, so you have to remember. Enjoyed the class though.

OK let me just say this class is a joke! At the beginning of the semester, he said as long as you show up to class you have a B already in the class. There is no homework and the tests and quizzes you make up so you always get an A on those. No final! I'd advise to take this class in 6 weeks to get it over with. He's funny and really cool! This is a wonderful class and Mr. Jay is awesome. I have learned many techniques that could have been applied to other classes, not just math. This includes, working the problem backwards, applying logic, using numbers as locations, drawing diagrams to visualize it, asking not what if, but what if not, and starting with a small chunk. Respect him!

Mr. Jay is a great inspiration to all that will listen with an open mind. He makes the class fun and entertaining. Unlike the traditional math teachers that will teach a problem one way and then change it on test day, Mr. Jay always lets you know what you will be tested on so there are NO surprises. There are no assignments. No homework, quizzes, or tests. No grades. Show up, do work (crossword puzzles and sudoku) he gives you in class. At the end of the semester put everything into a binder and turn it in. That's it. You get an A. Just show up. If you're bad at math take this class. And take it in an A or B semester to get it over with. Easy.

Definitely a class to take if you're not particularly a mathematically inclined person. It's a straightforward, fun class to take because you do math more enjoyably (puzzles, mind games, etc.) The structure of the class is designed to provide students with thinking on another level. He is funny, insightful, and there for you.

Mr. Jay, is an awesome teacher. He teaches his class in a way that you can understand, his teaching method is not the same as regular professors. The stuff he has you do makes you think outside the box. I truly have learned a lot in his class, and skills I can use towards my other classes, he has his own text book in the bookstore. This class was very easy, and he is very nice and kind. If you attend class everyday and participate you'll get an A. You create the tests and quizzes in a group. His class is structured so that he is not forcing assignments on the class. You do what you want and turn in a portfolio at the end of the semester.

This is the perfect class for people who are bad at math. The topics are very interesting and almost never involve your typical math class calculations. At times things can be confusing, however, as long as you do the minimal work and come to class every day, you'll end with an A.

This class is so easy going. I cannot believe that people received anything lower than an 'A', or that anyone would have anything bad to say about Mr. Jay. The class is not your usual math class. A lot of puzzles. If you want an easy math grade, take this class.

Dr. J is a great professor. His class is very enlightening. Class participation is very important.

This is one of the greatest professor's you'll have in your lifetime. He's genuine and truly cares about your well being. I respect Jay tremendously. Show up for class, do your work, open your mind and the rest is history.

Mr. Jay was an amazing professor. He uses a different style of teaching that allowed me to actually enjoy math. His class can be sort of confusing but if you stick with it until the end you'll be fine. Definitely recommend taking this class with him if there is the option to do so.

Such a amazing man. Teaches in a different style from all other math professors. I was going to drop his class the first week, but I'm glad I stayed. Pretty much go to class and participate. You will not receive one homework assignment. I promise that! can't emphasize how important attendance is.

Professor Jay is a kindhearted man who offers his students an interesting idea or approach to school/ education and life in general. He is not a tough grader. His expectations of students is more-so "survival thinking". He isn't concerned about which student does math the best or who solves complex problems faster. He's worth your time and money!!!

Professor W was awesome. If you want to have a great experience in contemporary math he is the professor you want. He explains everything and I just had a wonderful time. I really enjoyed his class.

Amazing teacher

Mr. Jay is not the typical math teacher. He gets you thinking and allows for group discussion. He is a laid back person and his class is not stressful. It was very refreshing. I highly recommend Mr Jay's class. Mind your manners and be respectful.

Interesting professor. I learned some very interesting things. He challenges you to think. Very different teaching style. I loved the class. I liked all my classmates too! We did everything as a group and in teams.

Professor Jay is really a nice man who cares about students & want them to get a good grade! Attendance, good attitude & participation are the only grades. Everything is group work. Just be respectful of the man because he is making it as easy as possible to get an A. He wants to teach his students different ways of thinking about problems.

This class was a great break after taking some hard classes. It was also so much fun, he doesn't grade anything all semester. except the final which you make as a class, questions and answers. Every day is interesting, but its not math, its puzzles and mind games, its a lot of fun for the creative mind.

Professor Jay is an amazing professor he really cares about his students. His teaching tactics are a bit different. Learned Alot. We did things in groups. Complete the port folio by the end of the semester, stay off the phone, attend, be quiet while he is lecturing and just general respect. He will work with you should an emergancy arise.

Go into this class expecting absolute confusion. This professor does not explain Anything, he is so busy trying to change the student teacher idea that he ends up teaching you nothing. Easy A because nothing is graded and you make your own quiz/tests and have access to the answers.!

Professor Jay was hysterical! He never failed to make the entire class laugh at least once a day. Truly a character. The class was essentially just showing up and passing, but you have to be ready to participate because he will call on everybody. Honestly one of my favorite teachers, definitely an easy A.

The best Professor EVER! I love his way of thinking. Very different from the norm but has a unique way of making YOU think. His humor is so refreshing and his wisdom is profound! He makes you feel like you are capable of doing anything! I encourage you to take his class, by the end you won't want to leave. Amazing Professor!

He was a good professor. Definitely confusing in the beginning and you will want to walk out of his class, but stay. He doesn't grade anything, you make up questions and answers for the final and "tests", and he talks a lot. He is very funny though. Another Mathematic option you can take if you are not up to speed in Algebra. Give yourself 1 week before dropping the class. The class may you think outside the box. The homework is very reasonable and not difficult. Today was my last day of class and I have not received my final grade yet.

If you are looking for extreme structure , this is not the class for you. He is amazing in the way he allows the class to operate and learn from other students. The quizzes are done together so if you don't know the answer, you can rely on your classmates for help. He wants you to be comfortable in making mistakes and not having structure.

Take this class, you will not regret it. Prof. Weininger is by far my favorite teacher. It takes a few classes to get comfortable but once you do it's fun. I have to say this is the only teacher I wil miss because his class was quite enjoyable. He strives to get students to think outside the box and restructure how they view the world of math.
