shes a good teacher. shes monotone so its hard to pay attention but has some good points to her lectures. she is very helpful! you can tell she wants her students to succeed. the class itself is a lot of work but she does a great job at organizing it so its not an overload of work. read your books and keep up with the work it will pay off.

she is a nice lady...there are three major essays in the class based on the three books you are supposed to read...i honestly didnt read any of the books and still passed with a C+, so if you slack off a lot and don't really read books, don't even worry about it.

expects waaayy too much from students the point of gew 101 is to get a feel of what college level writing is i did try my hardest in that class and i still got an rp =(

SUCH A GOOD TEACHER! I disagree with the other comments. She really cares about her students. Her writing assignments are simple but she does allow revisions. Only 3-4 essays over the semester. She is extremely helpful when you talk to her one-on-one. She clearly tells you what shes looking for. Do what she says & get an A. That's what I did :)

She's not a bad teacher. but deff there's lots of work to do in her class. if you take the time to talk to her one on one she will deff help you. her essays are hard but their doable. overall she is an OK teacher.

This isn't an easy class but if you take the tie to show up to class and talk to her (+participate) then you'll enjoy the class. She is amazing at teaching and always has something interesting to say.

You only have 3 big essays, but when you turn in your final one, you feel so confident but when you get your results back, its a failing grade. Very discouraging. She is there to help those who ask for it, but is a very harsh grader and very strict rules! All i got to say is good luck to those taking her class in the future! be prepared! &read!

Overall good class, strict on grading. But is very helpful when you ask questions. Just make sure to do your assignments and you should be fine.

We were part of an experimental class. It was interesting and I wrote a great research paper.

This may have been one of the classes that I have enjoyed most out of all the classes I have taken. The class awoke an interest in me for the food industry. I go to farmers markets now, I am growing my own fruits and herbs and it feels great! Thank you for the opportunity to venture through a delightfully interesting (yet somewhat grim) subject.

I really liked this class. I found it very interesting, not only did I enjoy the course material, but I was also able to apply what I learned, to my everyday life.

Great professor. She taught us a lot about the food industry and research papers. The class was interesting because I learned about a topic that is important outside of the classroom too.

We spent the whole semester writing our research papers, which helped me learn about how to write a research paper. The films and the reading was interesting. I went to her office and talked with her several times. She was very helpful.

Prof. Braman was really nice. I received a better grade than I thought. I enjoyed learning about the food industry and learning how to do research.

I enjoyed Prof. Braman 's class. She was patient and understanding. She teach me how to go more in depth with my papers. All GEW classes have to work hard, so be prepared. Good teacher.

The topics in this class were mind blowing! We had interesting discussions so I enjoyed coming to class. I struggled with the writing, but was glad I could revise. Great professor.

Love this professor!! My friends taking GEW from other teachers has longer assignments. She wants to see us improve our writing, so she helps us find our own answers. My writing really improved. I wrote a real research paper!

I just wanted to left you know that I enjoyed your class even though I had several difficulties elaborating my essays I really enjoyed the topics that were discussed in class.

Most of the rates here are from the kids that didn't see eye to eye with her and believed their writing was great even though they were in that class again after failing the first time. She helped me a lot with my writing. She had conferences with you for your major essays to let you know what she wanted you to expand on. I would def take her again

OMG she helped me improve my writing. I liked the personal conferences. No one ever sat with me to go over my writing to help me improve. GEW is not an easy class, but I feel like I understand how to structure paragraphs and have more confidence with my writing.

Caring professor because she makes us think for ourselves. I struggled at first, but I didn't give up and she helped me when I showed her what I was working on. I put in the effort and got an A.

Great teacher who followed up with me to make sure I was okay. She went out of her way to help me finish this class.

I worked with this professor during office hours. She was so helpful. We worked through different paragraphs until I finished my paper. I am grateful for her patience!

We had great discussions on interesting topics. I learned a lot about the food industry. She chooses topics that have meaning outside of class. You have to write a lot, but it is a writing class. She gave me good feedback. I never wrote such a long research paper, but I was happy that she helped me.

I just received the highest grade that I have ever gotten on a college paper. I am so happy!! She was clear in class about what she expected. I did the reading and took notes in class. I received positive feedback on all papers.

Although challenging, this class was my favorite and I am very thankful for everything Ive learned. I dont think I have had a teacher like Prof. Braman. She truly worked so hard for us! It was such a relief to go into a class feeling comfortable and having a great support system behind me.

She pushed and challenged me with every paper but I appreciated how hard she made me work. I will take her advice in the future when it comes to other essay's. She was easily my favorite professor this semester! Don't believe students who don't want to work to improve their writing.

Prof. Braman was extremely helpful and patient. She even gave me extra help and time to complete my essay. Revisions of papers are allowed and her feedback was good and helped me write a better paper. She was really kind, so I think that other people didn't come to class or want to work. She always answered my emails and treated me kindly.

She's a really good teacher! She shows examples that are clear and she is easily approachable as well. I enjoyed taking her class and she is extremely nice. If you can, I strongly suggest taking her class. She shows a genuine interest in students' learning.

Best GEW professor she is very sweet and always willing to help her students. This is an easy "A" class as long as you put hard work and dedication plus keep up with the work you'll do fine. But if your lazy than this class will be hard! Good luck!!!!:)

I've never liked writing, but this class was so much better than I expected! The topics we wrote about were very interesting and prof. Braman is a great professor.

She is a tough grader, but by the end of the class you will have a better understanding of writing. She doesn't really teach how to write the paper you just have to hope for the best, also she roasts you in the comments when you get your essay back. If you could find an easier professor I would do it, but it wasn't that bad.

I went to Prof. Braman's office, and she was so sweet and helpful. I learned so much about writing and know that I will be better in all of my classes. I also enjoyed the topics!

I have never been a good writer, but Professor Braman helped me to expand my writing skills beyond the basic guidelines. Even if you do not like writing, the essay topics are interesting and make the task of writing easier. You are required to do service learning but if you get a head start and choose a good organization, you will be fine.

High expectations, but helps you achieve a different level of writing. College writing is different from high school and Ms. Braman helped me to see how to write stronger paragraphs and papers. Some of the readings were hard, but I liked learning about new topics and thinking about how the world works. Don't be afraid to be pushed!

Prof Braman is a very difficult grader, but if you put in the time, and see her during officer hours its amazing. She may be a little fuzzy in class as far as expectations, but when you work one on one its clear and a real grade saver. She is also very nice, just make sure not to use your electronics in class

I would not have made it this semester if Prof Braman hadn't set up the online portion of class the way that she did. She gave clear instructions that helped me to finish my paper. She was available every week and helped me through a very difficult time.

I got excellent feedback and compliments on my writing. Received As on all of my papers. I really enjoyed the readings and discussions. She takes your writing to a new level, but who wants to write like a high schooler? You have to learn to think for yourself, and she appreciated my ideas.

Wow . . . Prof. Braman gave us a prompt, step-by-step instructions, examples of what she was looking for. I got all A's on my papers and compliments from her. I guess the saying "you can lead a horse to water, but can't make it drink" applies to the comments that she is unclear. I thought she was really clear and emailed me back within 24 hours

I would not have made it through a very difficult semester if Prof. Braman wasn't as compassionate and patient as she was! She extended deadlines and even boosted our grades one whole letter grade to make up for lost class time. She wants us to think for ourselves so I learned a lot in her class.

Prof Braman was super compassionate! The small group meetings were really helpful because we could ask questions and she helped us with our ideas. She not only responded to emails right away, she worried about all of us and how we were doing all semester. She asked us for our input in how the course was going in the online class.

A great professor who understood the struggle of students this year. It was extremely motivating and uplifting to see someone truly care about their students and their well-being. The happiness module truly changed my life. You lived what you taught us, and I'm grateful.

This professor gives the best feedback and tries to give the benefit of the doubt. Attend class or you WILL fail. She is much more lenient on students who show up every class and participate so take advantage! There is homework every week and it will take time to complete so procrastinate carefully

In the end, I did better than I expected. She gave great feedback and allowed me to revise my papers. I understand much better how to write my papers and learned how to be more specific with my wording. She was caring and helped me when I had questions. She also checked in with me when she knew I was going through personal problems.

Prof. Braman is so caring and helpful! She followed up with me to help me with some confusing parts of my paper. She goes over and above for her students, creating space for us to write and think in class. The topics kept my interest too.

Really nice teacher who helped me as a writer. She worked with us in class on our writing so that we could get help and ask questions about the assignments. With her help, I received an A in the class and she let me know that I was a capable writer. I felt respected.

Prof. Brahman was pretty understanding and forgiving when it came to special circumstances but nonetheless graded strictly. Sometimes her expectations aren't clear so be sure to ask questions. Attendance is very strict and group work is done often so beware introverts.

Papers are graded pretty hard, but the professor gives a lot of opportunity to revise work. Jayne Brahman gives good feedback, but you have to ask for it. Overall, this class helped me increase my writing skills. Attendance is a big part in the gradebook.

This professor is really caring about her students. She goes the extra mile to help out. I wouldn't have passed her class without her showing me some grace for the times that I messed up. She accepted my late work.
