Summer Session was very good. Prof. Murphy is a sweet professor and knows her stuff! Not what I expected; more stats than what I wanted instead of studying the "mind" of a criminal. Midterm and Final were in essay form. Paper due was on a criminal of your choice. No special format. Very fair and good class to take along with a tough class.

After taking my first Soc policy class, I was hooked, I later took her criminology, soc plan and yes take any classes she teaches. YOU will learn in her class, and YOU will Remember what u learn after, excellent teacher, CSI Needs to promote her to fulltime n git rid of the dinosaurs!, Learning was fun and I never missed a day.Money Well spent!!!

How can you rate a professor before the semester is over? Anyways professor Murphy is an excellent professor. 3 test all essay first on was take home and she discuss the topics the week prior to the test! Grading was ok a lot! Term paper isn't bad at all 5 pages on a serial killer. Overall great class you would be crazy to pass it up

Great professor, and easy going. Lectures are interesting and she relates it all to her profession, she loves to talk! She gave one test essay form and two quizzes that equaled the 2nd test grade. I truly enjoyed the class. Professor Murphy was easy to understand. Provided good notes for exams. Gave one essay to complete. It was a true delight to be in her class. I would definitely take her for a higher level courses in the future.

She seems like a wonderful person but definitely has too much on her plate. Our first test was difficult and discussed some things not covered, but a few easier tests came after. She seems like she is always on the go and should stop doing so much. I enjoy her class and all her personal stories she shares.

Jayne Murphy is an excellent teacher - She is understanding and Fair - Her Testsquizzes are directly from her notes and are usually Multiple choice. he's funny, genuine and keeps your interest.

She's the best teacher ever, super funny and understanding to student's situations. I never liked sociology but I loved her classes and topics. I wish to take her classes again but my major is biology.

She is probably the best professor I've had since I've been at CSI. The lecture on CUNY First might say its about 3 hrs and 20 mins but she makes the class interesting and the lecture flies by. Put it this way if this class met 2 days a week for 3 hrs and 20 mins I wouldn't mind it at all. Final Paper is only 5 pages. Take this class.

Professor Murphy was wonderful. I enjoyed attending her class. She gives a mid-term and a final (both of which were in short essay question format) as well as a written paper assignment. She is also very caring, approachable and an all around great professor. She knows the subject matter really well! Take her class, you will have no regrets!

My favorite professor on campus. She makes the class so interesting! She gives a take home midterm, a final paper ( just make sure to site in the paragraph), and a really fair final. If you take notes in her class and focus, you'll get an easy A, I wish all my professors were like her seriously !!! Oh and she always lets you out early !!!!

Loved her class the entire semester, good at teaching and getting you to understand her lectures. Final paper wasn't that hard to do with an interesting topic. Funny stories told by her about her other job and just an overall enjoyable class and professor. Take her class, highly recommend.

Amazing professor, would definitely take again. She does end class about an hour early. All her tests are very easy as long as you study the notes she gives in class and they are all MC and T/F.

This was my second time taking her and I cant express how much I love her classes, I wish she taught Soc 300 level classes so I can take her for a THIRD TIME! This is a great class with a great professor. Whether your looking for an easy class or truly interested in the subject of sociology or criminal justice, shes amazing. Took Professor Murphy during a summer semester where she was incredibly nice, helpful, clear with our material and, very timely with replying to your emails. Unfortunately the class was online so you don't get the benefit of having in person interaction but the class was still great. Highly recommend taking her.

Shes the best, a good professor. Grading is not bad, theres 3 quizzes and its very easy and theres one final its not bad 10 page essay but its easy and interesting. She interacts with students and is awesome. Totally would recommend and take again if she would teach more classes.

I had her as a asychronus class which means we never had virtual lectures. To be honest it was tricky at first teaching myself but then I got use to it. Plus her assignments was to answer two questions each week per chapter. At times they might be paragraphs or pages. Then the final and midterm are a written examn which is really easy.

I had Professor Murphy for Into to Sociology and Criminology and she's great! Lectures were always interesting and engaging, she shares a lot of stories from her own experience in law enforcement. Homework assignments are short with straightforward instructions. Hoping I'll end up taking her for a third time!

She allows enough time to get assignments done, shares great stories that relate to the lecture, and creates a safe space for discussions. she is respectful of students time and puts an effort to ensure the students know what is expected of them. I would absolutely take her again if i had a chance!

I took Soc101 as requirement and I found myself to be even more invested than I thought I would. The course load is a lot but nothing that can't be handled. Its very easy as long as you read the chapters and lectures. I would definitely take this professor again!
