Prof. Moore's passion for teaching is clearly evident in her intense lectures. She brings a potentially dull subject to life and offers her students a heightened awareness. She's brilliant! Her accent takes a little getting used to, but isn't a problem.

Mrs. Moore is the best Sociology teacher you'll ever have. She's really easy. Her tests are based on her lectures (they are MC, no essays)and she gives extra credit. All you have to do is give a chapter presentation and it's worth 60pts...I got an A :)

Man, this class was so easy if you dont get an A something is wrong with you. There's sooo much extra credit and her tests are easy as heck (mainly based on lecture). I dont remember using the book much except for answering extra credit questions.

Easy class! Don't need to read the book at all. Take notes in her class and understand it. She goes over the multiple choice and essay questions of the test one by one the day b4. Lots of extra credit! Final is not ****ulative. An opennote popquiz everyday which is 2 points of extracred.If you get less than A in this class, you are probably retarded

Oh boy, this class was my fav! did not have to read the facking book. She is so funny! an eccentric accent. sometimes facks the student up by giving sarcastic comments! anyway, as long as i only care about the grade, i dont give a fack about her accent or being sarcastic. Take the class if you want an easy A!

she is one of the best professors at college. if you want to learn about sociology take her, her class is excellent. you learn a lot without getting bored. if you want to take sociology 101, take it with her. she is the best and the most dedicated professors.

She is fun to listen to. Has very easy test if you listen to what she says. i never bought the book and got an A' she gives lots of extra credit for anybody to pass. Good teacher witha sense of humor.

JC is very nice but also very weird. She loves Obama... She is a great teacher and really knows what she's teaching. She has three tests and the final is only on the last chapters of the book. I didn't buy the book bcuz it was expensive and u don't even need it. Take notes and your good. Go to class for easy pts. Her grading is based on total pts.

She has no mercy and she doesn?t believe in giving a point so you can get a higher great. Do ALL the extra credits and read the book, Period. Show up in the class everyday cuz you get points for everyday! and there are some pop quizes as extra credit. Its a smooth going class, just read the words for each chapter.

Wonderfully Easy!!! JC is very intelligent but can sometimes make a harsh comment/ suggestion to you if you say something ignorant. I took two different classes with her passed LECTURE n take notes and ull get an A. if you complain about her is cuz ur lazy and should be in Highschool. Treats students like adults not children.

You definitely need to follow her lecture in order to get everything, but she is one of the most passionate and entertaining teachers I've come across. I really enjoyed learning from her. The test questions are not always the most intuitive, but study well and you'll do well.

She is an AMAZING professor..I was never really into sociology just took it for credits but eneded up LOVING the subject..she knows how to treach thr subject EXTREMELY well..just go to class everyday take notes and you will do fine. she has a passion for the subject i havent seen in a while. J.C. is a superb teacher who is also has an extremely funny sense of humor. I appreciate how she plays devil's advocate in class!

JC is one of the best prof. in GCC. You can visit her office hr and she will answer most of your questions. I took her for 101, 104, and 131. I wish she taught more classes.

Prof Moore is a very good Prof.; rather surprising fom prev comments. Some of her enthusiasm was dealing with not serious students. She is very helpful especially during office hours; has opport. for ext crdt-articles, HW, movies, soc clb mtgs. test are straitforward.

I took this class during my first semester at GCC and Professor Moore couldn't have explained any better than she did. I highly recommend students to took her class. Maybe she changed her teaching style but...her accent is not that bad neither are her notes (they're not the best but not horrible) you simply have to pay attention and write everything she says not just what she writes. The tests are pretty much based on lectures and there were no essays, 2 tests and i barely read the book only if she told us to.

An awesome helpful respectful lady. She is Asian and she dresses well. If you pay attention while she lectures you will have over 85% of what she will put in exams. Take good notes and be polite. Do not talk and do not miss her classes. You will become a mature person and you will learn some harsh truths about the American capitalist society.

She is hilarious! She's a bit scattered with her notes, but tends to get everything that needs to be on the test out to the students. She gives you all the test q's ahead of time, esp. essay and short answer ones. If you listen and take REALLY good notes, you're gonna have fun in this class and get an A! She dresses funky and makes lots of jokes.

Her lectures are fun and entertaining, and peaked my interest. Tests are easy if you can read the book, memorize definitions and understand the concepts. Her extra credit is not worth enough points to bother with. Read one chapter a week from the book and you will get an easy A. 5 points for showing up each day. I highly recommend the study guide.

HILARIOUS, smart, interesting, sarcastic, incredible woman and teacher. easy as hell. very little studying required. her tests are multiple choice and common sense. i dont know why her ratings aren't perfect. this class is so easy and i studied a total of three hours throughout the semester

She is definitely that kind of professor that help to fall in love with the subject of Sociology. I had her for two Sociology classes in which I learned a lot and still using her class in new research about religion called Sociology of Religion. I will recommend without a doubt; she will give a good grade according to your effor in the class.

She was a great instructor for a 3rd repeat. She was a fairly easy and fair grader. She possessed lots of knowledge of the course and # along with very clear explanations. She didn't help out much because it wasn't much necessary with all the polite stuff inside. Her general material wasn't all that hard. I highly recommend her for almost anyone.

Moore is very friendly on a personal level. Her class is very hard. You should definitely read the book and the study guide. I got an A in the class but I worked very hard for it. Many students dropped out of the class. We started with 70 and ended up with about 30.

She is a cool and fun teacher. Grades fair, has personality, and she isn't boring. She's the type of teacher who will remember each student's name even though these class sizes are large. Only reason why people are complaining about her lecturing style is because THEY DID NOT READ THE BOOK. If you read the book, her lectures will make perfect sense

One of the first things she says is she doesnt offer extra credit-she does. About 30 points,which is a lot considering she breaks her class into 4 units&each are about 300 points so 30 points can bring your unit grade a grade up or close to it.Read the book,copy her notes&look at the study guide.Not a lot of hw, attendance is 5 pts so come to class

Honestly, just read the textbook. She may not be very clear from the lecture, but her entire tests are based 80% on the book and 20% from things that she said you needed to remember from the lecture. She's relatively easy and super lovable. I enjoyed her class so much I took her 104 as well!

Professor Moore has helped change my view on sociology dramatically. Professor Moore made the class interesting, unbiased, and helpful for students who love to learn. She's definitely an expert and she cares about her students. Also, her textbook is written excellently and makes the book worth while reading. Make sure you read!

Professor Moore is such a kind soul! She can be a little air headed at times, but she definitely knows her stuff. There are only 3 exams throughout the entire course, and she doesn't really give homework. She gave us multiple extra credit opportunities, though. Research paper at the end of the semester for Soc 104. Overall very nice and great prof.

J.C. is a scatter brained, fun-loving professor who's obviously in love with sociology, which is great. She does leave you wanting more professionally, and certainly could have clearer expectations, but overall provides enough rubric to do well in her class. GO TO CLASS, she gives points, and it will make a difference.

I love Professor Moore, outside of class. She is hilarious, liberal, and has the best class discussions. On the other hand, very scatter brained, forgetful, and unclear about assignments. She loses papers and messes up on grading. We had a take home test and a take home final which was helpful but it's your attendance that'll boost your grade.

You'll either love her or hate her. As for the class, take good notes. Listen carefully as she will drop hints as to what she will be asking on the test & she outright tells you the essay questions. While just the lecture may work if you take amazing notes, if you want a solid standing, get the textbook & actually read it. Go to the SIs if you can.

Funniest, sweetest, most caring prof. I've had so far. Very direct. The concepts are quite complex, you truly need to understand them to do well on the tests. Multiple choice part of the tests are the hardest, you never know what she's going to ask. Extra credit helps a lot. For group project, you interview strippers, very inspirational. Love her!

She respects peoples opinions and views but still feels comfortable making jokes with the class. She is all business. But when it comes down to it, she is fun as well. JC Moore may seem tough, but she only wants us to learn and use three different sources: the book, power points, and her lectures. If your mind is not ready to handle to use all three, then do not take this class. Critical thinking is crucial when taking her classes, if you want to pass.

I took this class during the winter session and had a great experience. J.C is very clear in her expectations and grading criteria and makes a true effort to get to know her students. Tests are straightforward and home assignments are not overwhelming. Cares about her students and encourages you to speak your mind in class. And shes really funny!

J.C Moore is a solid professor. Her lectures are interesting , fun and you can learn a lot. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities so let's say if you got bad grade you can make it up. Took this class to fulfill my GE requirement but ended up making me passionate about sociology! Amazing professor who has in depth lectures which allows her students to participate heavily, lecture heavy class but in class discussions are very thought provoking and fun!!! Really fun class :-) definitely recommend taking, wish I could take jr again

This professor changed my life, she is very articulate and impactful on her students. Personally, she opened my eyes to benefits of advocating for women and introducing me to feminism. Today I consider myself a Feminist and strong believer in egalitarianism. Take this her classes!!

Ive taken professor 2 classes with Professor Moore. She is very understanding and wants you to do well! Definitely one of the best professors at GCC. I recommend taking her summer sociology 101 class!

I took her Sociology 101 last Summer. she is one of the greatest teachers. She really has passion about what she is teaching. her lectures always fun and informative and enjoyable. I have learned a lot form her lectures without pressure at all. However, she inspires you to think and want to know the topics.

As long as you read the chapters and show up to class, you will pass. Id really recommend you take her sociology 101 class during the summer of 2018.

I took her for Soc 101. Shes the reason why I changed majors. And this class puts things in perspective on sexism and how women, femininity and masculinity function in society.

I took her for Soc 101 and Soc 104 because she is amazing teacher. Office hours is always open for your needs and she care about her students. Reading is a MUST for passing exam and talking in the class.

Great professor! The class is interesting and truly enjoyable. Definitely recommend taking it with her!

The only real complaint is that the professor does not post grades to Canvas. However, when she passes back her tests, she brings in a copy of the current grades. There are only 4 tests on 16 chapters (three midterms and a final). The midterms are a mixture of in class and take home tests and the final is in class on only four chapters.

One of the best professors in GCC . I took all hr Sociology classes and would take them again. Love her she is the best .

AMAZINGGGGG teacher

Professor Moore is a liberal teacher who is very passionate about sociology. Although she tends to go off topic her Powerpoints are detailed and include partial study guides for each chapter. Attendance matters and is an easy way to get points.

Mrs. Moore offers detailed lectures with good examples that are easy to relate with and understand. She gives lots of extra credit and gives you lots of chances to get the grade you want in the class.

This has been one of my favorite professors at GCC so far. She is very friendly, hilarious, gives fascinating lectures, and is a very fair grader. Her tests are very doable if you put in the effort to study for them, and she offers extra credit as well which helps us allot. I highly recommend JC!

Absolutely amazing! She's very funny and makes lectures enjoyable. Tests were okay, all you have to do is take good notes and read the chapters before coming to class and you'll be fine. Gave many opportunities to receive extra credit, which is always a plus. Sociology is not my major, but she did make the effort to make it interesting.
