Exam resources (answer keys to written hw, achieve practice problems and tutorial answers) posted a day before the midterm. The midterm review lecture was not very helpful. It's important to do your pre-lecture work to understand what's taught in class. He is nice/approachable and incorporates a stretching break in between lectures which is great.

This professor does not know how to teach and confuses himself half the time in lectures. There is barely any material to study because he doesn't even give us lecture slides or that many practice problems. To show how difficult the exams are, he had to make the last question of an exam a bonus in order to make the average not a failing grade.

Does not post lecture slides because "its better for students to take handwritten notes". Everyone takes pictures of each slide that he goes through in class, so maybe he should reflect on his strategy of not posting slides. Exams are contradictory to what he teaches in class. He's himself confused about the material half of the time.

He is a nice prof but the material he teaches in class does not correlate with his homework, especially the written assignments. He gives us so much work to do outside of class, which takes time away from our other courses, and when you finally understand the homework material and go into the midterms, it differs from what we have studied.

Some of the reviews are fake, and the students are blamed in each one. This professor is honestly the worst one yet.I enjoyed physics but all my passion was gone once JFC opened his mouth and confused everyone. He is ALWAYS confused by his examples. If you want to take a gamble and take this class, be my guest. You will be left confused and frustrated

He gets confused at his own slides. He does a lot of demos and he'll say "lets hope I can do this properly" but then "oh that wasn't supposed to happen" when it doesn't go as expected. You'll prolly have to learn the material on your own because his lectures don't make sense. If you alr struggle with physics you'll find this class quite difficult.

Its not that JF doesnt know his stuff, or that he isnt a caring prof, he cares a lot it seems. However he confuses himself in lecture and I think it would be nice if he had better slides to highlights the necessary equations needed. His tests are fair though, and I wouldn't say its a hard class. You just have to learn outside of lecture more

Professor Caron is good. The class average for this first midterm was really low, so he made the second midterm wayyyy easier. He always does examples during class and is caring for students. He has changed the due dates for assignments multiple times because students were busy/had other work for their other classes; way nicer than other profs.

To cut a long review short, Prof. Caron gave confusing lectures and 1 to 2 large homework assignments per week, not including prelectures and bridge assignments. While the class isn't hard if you're good with numbers, he wasn't particularly forgiving when it came to poor marks. Also gave graded assignments on things that weren't part of the course.

Average for both midterms were 55% and the final exam average was 48%. Both are super low considering it's physics 12. Final exam was extremely difficult. Questions did not make sense at all and were nothing like the samples, review questions gone over class, or assignments. Besides all those low averages and unfair exams this is not being scaled.

JF is pretty chill with his grading and assignments. His examples in lectures and homework match the exams (for the most part). To be honest out of the first year classes . I found that I enjoyed this the most. I think his bad ratings for physics 100 is because the people in that class are learning physics for the first time and are first years.

The reason the first midterm had a crazy high average of ~80% is that JF reused the EXACT same midterm as last semester and the majority of the class shared and viewed the exact answer key to the midterm prior to the exam, which is clear from the exam average. Please JF do not reuse you're old exams and punish the students trying to learn honestly.

This professor reused past midterms word-for-word, inflating the class average. He then made the final excessively difficult and raised grade boundaries, making an A+ disproportionately harder to earn. Additionally, his frequent mistakes in worked examples during lecture further confused students.
