Insanely hard class. Worked three times as hard as any of my classes to get by, just to get a horrible, almost not passing grade. nice teacher just not specific enough to know what she wants. Nothing seems to be up to her standards.

This woman is a walking disaster case. She is unorganized, has a poor understanding of english, and to top it all off she has the personality of a troll or a goon I can't decide which. I would give her a thumbs down and advise everyone to not take her.
I have never knew a teacher who was so messed up. She has a permanant case of PMS. I didn't learn nothing from her this year.
This woman has a vindetta against every student she teaches. She will make your life a nightmare just because she is a miserable person herself. She seriously needs to be evaluated!
Don't waste your time with this arrogant witch. There are plenty of good teachers at Valencia, don't give her the satisfaction of making you miserable. You know what they say, "misery loves company."

No matter what you do,don't take her. I turned in every assignment and failed miserably. She also "accidently" lost my papers. She expects too much,but doesn't know what she wants. She is a nice person at heart though.
She is soooo difficult, did what I could and got a D. Disorganized. A lot of work!
Though my assignments targeted key elements of the questions, cited sources in MLA format & integrated video/workbook content, I still wound up with low C avg. She is very upapproachable & somewhat arrogant. I hope she seeks help... :(
I really learned a lot from this professor. She responded quickly every time I had a question, and she made her expectations of students really clear. She knows her subject, and if you did the work within her specifications and deadlines, you did great!
Professor Fuhrman is a great teacher. The test aren't hard if do the reading. Don't listen to the other people. They're probably just angry they failed.
In the beginning I had a very bad attitude about reading. Toward the end I realized it wasn't half as bad as I thought. Professor Fuhrman is a great teacher. Hint: Do your homework!

Best way to pass her class: Play along with her dumb jokes, make sure you do the homework! Even if you just write a bunch of BS down, you'll pass. She's not the easiest but she will be fair if she's in a good mood.

She is Awesome, if you give her Respect, and do you homework, the homework is not hard and dosen't takee a whole lot of time! I would take every class she taguht. I got an A IN THE TWO OF HER CLASSED i DID TAKE, and im not a genius.

SHE IS THE BEST!
I took her Intro to Humanities TELECOURSE. A lot of writing and reading. Teacher is cool though and gives a whole lot of extra credit. Her exam questions were right from the reviews at the end of the chapters. Not good if you want to skate by but I liked.

awful, even though I'm a good student with a 3.85 GPA, I had to drop her course, because I probably would have failed. I got a 92% on the exam, but the essay questions are way too difficult. She has unrealistic expectations for intro courses.
This professor is firm, but fair. If you show her a little effort she will bend over backwards to ensure 'you get it.' Most of the people complaining on here were probably hoping college would be like high school where they could sit and stare.
Even when is not a gordon rule class she want you to wrtite a lot for just a stupid question. And by the way she has a issue with her irish genealogy. !!!
man, this lady should find another profession, like shoveling manure in a barn somewhere. She needs to get in touch with what's going on, and what is or isn't important for us to know. The concept for this course is wonderful. The professor is overdemanding. If you are taking other classes do not tak this one. It requires the time of 3 classes to do the assignments and she grades hard. Taking this course as a telecourse is signing yourself up for a semester of stress.
horrible teacher, needs to teach better than she tells jokes. you'll enjoy the lab better than the class. make sure you annotate and take cornell notes before handing in assignments. You'll never pass if you have a 70 percent on one of her hard assessment test, plan on spending 2 hrs making it up.
Why is she still teaching? She is by far the worst teacher I've ever had period. She is WAY too demanding! I took 2 gordon rule honors classes last semester & they were much easier than this non-gordon rule class. She needs to get a grip on reality. She sucks. I hope she reads this & realizes that.
BEWARE!!!! SAVE YOURSELF NOW. Didn't like this class. Took it as a telecourse. As a person she is ok, tried t encourage the class, etc. As a professor she sucks, I feel like she asked to much on her assignments, this was an intro course. I felt like I was writing for a more advanced course with her.
I DO NOT recommend to take this class. She gives a lot of busy work and her test are hard. Although i passed the state comp with a hundres I got a C in her class. She does not really teach, but jus asigns concepts and you learn them on your own. Dont take her.
do not take the telecourse unless you want to write alot. you might as well take a gordon rule class instead. also, she makes you pay for 3 field trips to go on by yourself to museums and a play, which can get expensive. she is ridiculous, crazy, and she needs to stop teaching.
Please dont take this as a telecourse, I personally spent more time on intro to humanities than i had to for biology! Good luck in the class...
The class had alot!! of busy work. 50% of your grade came with the last day of class and schedule of assigments was not set. Two essay'a worth 40% of your grade were due the last day. If you didn't have an A or a B+ on the last day you will probally fail her class. If you put forth effort she tends to be easier on you, if your quiet your in trouble
wow, what a mess. She gives vague instructions for assignments...... then reams you out for it not being the way she wants it..... I wouldn't reccomend her to my worst enemies!
she seems to be the only person interested in what she teaches. i do like art, however, this class made me not even want to think about it. i had to drop it because i was failing, i'm an a and b student. it is a ton of work, probably one of the worst classes i have ever had

This class is a ridiculous amount of work, but very easy. From what I hear, her live class is "easier" than her on-line class. She's a little spacy (not always super clear about deadlines) but she does give rubrics so you know what she expects. She was very lenient with deadlines/latework in our class. Great sense of humor!
I wrote 13,640 words for this class...roughly double any Gordon Rule class I've taken. Thank God I took Art History II and Renaissance / Baroque first(A's in both classes), because this class would have ruined the humanities for me forever. Expensive field trips on your dime/time don't help. I busted my _ss for a B, and I have a 3.86 GPA.

She was the worst teacher I have ever taken. She had some dumb idea that she had great strategies to make students study efficiently. I would not tell an enemy to take her class. she should be kicked out of school and get a life.
I just have one comment to make. Anyone who thinks that there were/are 13 commandments is a loser and learned nothing from all that hard work in humanities. What an idiot! I think you should probably take a religion class. I'm an atheist, and I still knew there are only 10.

She is quite an "artistic" person with so much enthusiasm in teaching that shows through. Although I do not agree with the other evaluations, I am glad that this was the only class I had to take this semester. I felt as though this class was an honors class rather than a streamline class after comparing it to other Intro to Humanities classes.
This lady is confused...she doesn't know she is only teaching an intro class and not a gordon rule hum class. She has delusions of grandeur. She needs to get real. I have taken about 8 gordon rule classes (including 4 gordon rule honors hum classes) and they were all easier than this bs. SHE'S TEACHING THIS BS B/C SHE CAN'T TEACH NORMAL CLASSES!!!

Mrs. Fuhrman is a very unique teacher. She gives alot of work that may not do any good. It feels like I was in high school again. She is not the greatest professor. If you do not have to take her I advise you not to. She is not rude or impolite just very unique. She is really good at heart.

i don't know how this woman is still employed. an ungodly amount of work. zeros on compleated assignments if she "doesn't like your interpretation". no credit if you're out sick and email your work in, even if you send it before the class starts! if you're into blood, sweat, and tears you'll find it in the furminator!
class was hard, but she is good teacher. Unlike what others say i think she does know what she is talking about and if you try in the class she will help you and allow you to do extra work to make up for a bad grade, but you have to ask to do extra work for a better grade, she doesn't just hand it out.

A very unique individual. Has difficulty teaching from the book sometimes, and is lost if someone asks pertinent information that relates to the reading but is NOT included in the chapter... such as styles, themes, et cetera. A very unique individual.
Prof. Fuhrman was an incredible teacher but do not take this course if you are looking for a hand out. If you want to alter the way you think and respond to things then this is the class for you. Know that Prof. Fuhrman will help any student that seeks asst. I thought she was reaaly great!!
If you're looking for a class with little to no work, look elsewhere. Aside from that, professor Fuhrman is forgiving and willing to help anyone who puts forth the effort and, for the most part, shows up.

She is a good teacher, she will make you use your brain. so if you have no desire to think, don't go to college. she was challenging, but any college english class should be. she was great!
People have complained about this professor and the way she grades and requires lots of work. These people cite the fact that they are "A students" with "3.8" GPAs. You know, it's possible to get As without doing any "real" work. Prof. Fuhrman expects students to LEARN and THINK. If you are not up for that, go back to high school and stay shallow.
Online Humanities Course was a complete joke. This was an Intro class with more work than my other 3 online classes combined. If you don't want to have a stressful semester like I did, I would suggest selecting a REAL professor who will actually contact you when you have questions and not answer 3 days later.
I did not like this class at all and I feel like I didn't learn anything from it. So many times I tried to contact her and I never got a response. If you want to take a class where the teacher actually can teach you something I would look for a different teacher.
Taking online humanities course is a complete joke as someone else had previously stated. She does not respond to e-mails, and if she does, she is rude. Not helpful when it comes to grading, and gives way too much work in a period of a weeks time.
INTRO TO HUMANITIES course shouldn't be a class you have to spend your entire life doing, WAY too much work for an online class. Assignments and tests are not well put together and hard to understand. I've been taking online courses for 3 years now and have never had a problem like I have with this class. Would NOT recommend.
She actually responded to a complaint by admitting that she read my paper last and after my conversation with the department head changed two grades. Not acceptable. She should drop some classes if she can't give every student her full attention!

Mrs. Fuhrman is a ridiculous person. She has no patience, she doesn't get grades back to you on time, and she's a nasty person in general. She has friends in the administration office, so if you go to a dean about her then she is going to know right away.
I took this professor for an online humanities class. BIG MISTAKE! It seems you need to know her view before you answer questions on assignments because she grades based on opinion and not on the textbook. Her instructions are not clear and her feedback on assignments can be very rude, disrespectful an even belittling. I do not recommend her class.
The class itself was okay. However, the instructor's directions and expectations were not always clear. I would follow the rubric and her directions to a 'T'. But it seems that she's looking for students to express HER opinions, which is impossible. Plus her comments are a bit on the rude side. Take this class with caution.

Prof Fuhrman isn't one of the easier Professors I must say, it is ALOT of work and time involved in this class. Make sure you have the time before enrolling in one of her classes!! She does give extra credit, it's advised that you do it!! She seemed to have a great sense of humor in my class!!! Overall she was not all that bad, very intelligent!!
Professor Fuhrman is a great teacher! She is always going to give you honest feedback about your work, which imo is the best way to learn. This is definitely a college level class so be prepared to work! Don't worry though, she gives a lot of extra credit and wants to see her students succeed. Great teacher!

Fuhrman is an amazing woman. Very positive and wants to see her students succeed. Gives extra credit almost every week and is definitely there if you need further help. Would definitely recommend her class if you're taking English.
Professor Fuhrman is a good professor, but if you find an easier teacher I would recommend them. If you do well in this class you could possibly get recommended for the honors program.
Professor Fuhrman has been my favorite professor in college so far. Her assignments are helpful and are useful in everyday life. She is a tough teacher, but if you do the work and follow directions you will love the class. I enjoyed her class every week and she made things fun!

Prof. Fuhrman is a great teacher. I've learned how to be a better writer in just three months than I ever did in the 12 years of going to school. She is hilarious, considerate, and knows how to teach a topic in a productive manner that will guarantee your success. Yes, she gives much homework, but they can't get any easier.

ENC1102 is new to her. Unorganized and forgetfulwhich you can use to your advantage, its the only perk of the class. High standards for deadlines, but grades slowly. She should definitely be your last resort. Out of all of my 12 years of grade school and first year of college, this has been one of the most frustrating and stressful classes Ive ever taken. Shes a smart ass if youre confused or have questions about your grade, and the essay topics are confusing. Expects you to teach yourself everything.
First off, she is VERY VERY rude and disrespectful. She told me that I had reading comprehension problems and that I should probably get help from that. She was always a tough grader and literally argued and disagreed with every single paper I wrote. This was INTRO into humanities... INTRO not an AP class. Think again before taking her.

Professor Fuhrman is a a tough grader. She gives vague, unspecific instruction to discussions and other assignments and then deducts points from your papers that you worked hard to create, for not reading her mind.
Rude and unclear in feedback. The topics for papers assigned are not interesting. She does not teach. She will tell you to go to Writing Center to get help. I think over half the class already withdrew, only a few of us left. I should have got out when I had the chance.
Worst Professor EVER, Withdrew from class after working diligently and spending more time on this class than any other that I was taking at the time but always got scathing 'thoughts' on all assignments that were turned in. I figured a withdrawal was better then having to deal with this HORRIBLE professor.
Everything you thought you knew about writing is a lie, according to her. If you wish to be criticized all the time, register for her class. There is a ridiculous amount of work and what you turn in won't count for anything because you'll somehow still mess up.
While I did not have many issues with Professor Fuhrman, she is by far the worst professor I have had. She is very vague and does not give clear, precise instructions. Unless you can read her mind, her assignments are quite confusing. She will take off points for the most minor of errors and then say that she stated what to do (she did not).
She is a very tough grader. But overall, I would recommend this class. She doesn't assign too much homework, and if I would've worked harder and not missed a couple of assignments I would've gotten a better grade.
This is a horrible professor; she made me feel stupid. I took complete six courses this Fall and received A and B. I never failed a class in my life. If you accidentally in this class, try to do all the extra credit if you struggle. But please avoid her course because you cant learn anything from this person.

This professor expects you to email her professionally but replies to you in the most disrespectful manner. Gives 4-5 lengthy assignments per week which are usually due 2-4 days after she has assigned them. Her feedback is horrible. Shell give you a zero without explaining why and when you ask her to specify she will tell you to reread the modules
This class could be the single handedly most difficult class. You will need to always be alert in this class as the professor is terrible at communicating and also is a horrendous grader. Never expect an easy assignment to come back 100%, she will look for anything to take points off. Dont take this class, messed up my GPA and lost brain cells.
Definitely wouldnt recommend. She states you can inbox her if you have any questions on assignments and when you do she replies with nasty & unprofessional feedback. I dropped her class in the first week of starting it after she told me i needed to go to tutoring as well as saying i couldnt read after asking her a simple question.
Has her good moments and her bad ones. She is a really tough grader. You could complete an assignment perfectly and she will find something to give you a lower grade. Unclear feedback/directions. She'll give you the same feedback every time but doesn't care to explain it. Don't miss an assignment. Somehow got an A but overall wouldn't recommend.
