Great teacher. Lectures are to the point with some fun stories and comments from her. She likes to move along and get out early. Covers alot of material and has lots of tests and homework. Great teacher-would recommend her over and over.
I loved Dr. Mitchell. She was an awesome instructor. I really enjoyed the examples she gave and how she related it to the text. As long as you show up for class, do your assignments and study you will pass this class. Would definitely recommend her for an instructor.
Wonderful teacher! Would definitely take another class w/her. I don't care for science, but she really kept my attention. No homework except reading and studying for tests. Tests are a little difficult, but if you study, they're not too bad. Overall, great experience!
Took her for both Anatomy & Physics and Patho. She is very thorough and basically you take notes. Very organized and not too much homework. Pay attention to the reviews before the tests because they come practically from the test itself. She was awesome I thought-kept me on my toes, but not too stressful! I enjoyed her class and highly recommend!
Good teacher, took her for biology and would take her again. She knows what she is talking about. The tests were kinda hard and a few of the questions weren't in the lectures she gave but they are in the book, which she used for all the tests. There may have been some outside info that she went over but mostly book based questions. watch the gators
Great teacher! Must attend class to get information for tests but tests are based only on what she has you highlight in your books. Would take her again if I needed another Biology!!!
She gave big curves on tests! basically all lectures. quizes are on d2l and have unlimited amount of tries. overall not too hard considering biology is incredibly boring.
Very great teacher. Her class is mostly lecture with visuals but she pretty much walks you through the book and highlights important points and test material. Easy tests IF studied for. She was very funny as well with a great sense of humor about the subject. Would reccomend her or take her again. Go Gators!
Great teacher! She knows what she's talking about and makes the class fun. I'd definitely recommend her and take her again. The class is kind of tough, but if you attend class, take notes, and study, you'll do good. Definitely the best professor I've had so far!
this class sucked
Definitely knows the material. She is very funny, clarifies on the subject IF you ask questions. You definitely have to read the book and study. She lectures, highlights important points, but make sure you comprehend the material as a whole. And Thank GOD for the grading curve she uses. lol. Im thinking about taking her Anatomy and Physiology
DR. Michell is a very good teacher. She knows what she is talking about and works with you if u need help. Although her test are hard, Her ulimated quizzes will help you out as long as you do them. P.S She is a atand up comedian so... bring a good attitude cause she deserves it!
Shes a nice lady. However she's not that helpful. She wants you to know everything. And by everything i mean it! She flys through the textbook and the tests are very details for 5 chapters a test. You also have to do online quizes which take 2-3hrs a quiz. In class she lectures the whole time. Tests are MC but very specific. NOT RECOMMENED
I took the fast track patho. & there is alot of info. covered! Definately have to have good time management. Her tests are m.c. & t/f and you have to do 1 paper. I got an A but felt overwhelmed sometimes with all the info. Do Not copy and paste your definition for the homework.
16 Chapters in 16 weeks on line! There are no study guides, outlines or direction on what to focus on. You just need to know it all! Only ONE cumulative lab final, which is an overwhelming amount of info to know at one time. She does not give ANY instruction, but does grade quickly and on a curve. Take only if you can teach yourself A&P.
Dr. Mitchell is awesome! She really knows her stuff. She is a brain doctor from UF! This class requires a LOT of studying but she is fair in grading. IF you put in the effort, go to her lectures (she is very entertaining), and study, you can get a good grade. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. MITCHELL!!
Dr Mitchell is an awesome teacher. There is alot of studying required and attendance is mandatory but she is helpful when it comes to grading. I recommend taking any class she teaches.
DR. Mitchell is an excellent professor! She knows her stuff and her lectures are very interesting and fun. She adds points to ALL her exams. Make sure you do the D2L quizzes to help your grade. You have to study a LOT. She is always there to help you if you do not understand. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR MITCHELL, she's the best! Go Gators!=)
Easy teacher, easy A!!! She highlights what will be on the tests and pretty much tells you what to study! And she gives bonus questions for each test! The quizzes are online but it's 20% of your grade and you have all semester to complete them they have unlimited submissions The final is 10%the five tests are worth 70% but you can replace ur lowest
Fair Teacher, has a dry sense of humor but she tries & I personally laughed often. She is not easy AT ALL but she is very smart. 99% of the notes are from the textbook & you can replace your lowest exam grade by doing a simple report. Some of the things she makes a point to emphasize aren't always on the test. Be prepared to pay attention/study!
If you need A&P classes, take Dr. Mitchell! She's an excellent professor (and neuroscientist)and makes class very enjoyable. She relates the topics to real life. You have to study a lot but she is always there to answer questions. She adds points to the exams to boost your grade. Dr. Mitchell is the best instructor!
If you study the text an know it well she easy fairly easy.
Loved this class and Dr. Mitchell, too!! I really recommend taking her for A&P if you can. Always helpful and grades fast with scales. I studied a lot and earned my A. People who complain are not studying and want to be spoon fed. I plan on becoming a nurse & Dr. Mitchell definitely prepared me! =) High recommendation from me! Great professor!
LOVED THIS CLASS! Highly suggest taking Dr Mitchell. Not an easy class but she scales the grades, so that helps. I came out of here with an A but I am really interested in the subject. She is really funny too so that makes the class fun. TAKE HER! Chapter tests multiple choice, labs are not. and no word bank on labs, but its not as hard as it sounds
she is really nice, but you have too study alot to know it. lab exams are blank sheets for answers that you get the picture on a powerpoint and have to just know it. regular exams are multiple choice. u have to study alot if you want a good grade. but mitchell is a nice teacher and funny! not an easy A but i would recommened her if you want nursing
Great teacher! Take this class. Very helpful and don't be afraid to ask, she will help. Labs, STUDY! Tests STUDY! but all the required is there.
Not an easy teacher, but it's not an easy class. My class size slowly declined. Don't expect to study the night before and pass. Go to class, highlight what she tells you to highlight, learn it all word for word, and you'll pass.
Seriously the best anatomy teacher I've had. I had to take it prior to at a different institution. Dr. Mitchell explains everything you could want to know! I plan on taking her for A&P II as well!
Looking for an easy A? This isn't your class. Looking to actually learn something? Then take Mrs. Mitchell. She's very funny, clear and involves the class. Tests are hard, you'll need to study a lot but getting an A is possible with effort. Grading is on a scale which is fantastic. Quick responses to emails and super fast grading.
Dr Mitchell is AWESOME! She is funny, knowledgeable, helpful, clear on expectations, and she is fair. She tells you what you need to know, and what to do to succeed in her classes. She also cares about her students over-all health. She will advice you on concerns involving yourself or loved ones. I recommend taking any of her classes.
Terrible, test are completely different than study material. Take with someone else.
I love Dr. Mitchell's class. Have taken for 2 other classes in previous years and would recommend her to anyone! If you're looking for an easy A go somewhere else but if you want to learn and be pushed, she's the teacher to take.
Worst professor I have ever had. Very strict, very boring, and very harsh. Terrible teacher that reads directly from a text book and teaches nothin
Dr. Mitchell is a GREAT PROFESSOR! She cares a lot about her students and wants us to succeed. I've taken 3 of her classes and LOVED them all. She grades on a scale! Exams are from textbook and lectures and she explains all concepts VERY clearly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. MITCHELL. SHE'S AWESOME! You'll learn a LOT if you study and put in the time.
Dr. Mitchell is an excellent professor. She is a teacher and takes her job as such seriously. The material is not easy and she does expect you to know the material because you signed up for the class and should put 100% in it just as she puts out. Read, attend class, and you will succeed. Thanks Dr. Mitchell!
Dr. M is the bomb. Yes you have to study. Imagine that? Its anatomy people- all memorization and it's worth the effort assuming you intend to pursue a medical degree. She's far from boring, however she uses class time to discuss material- not to be a standup comedian. I dedicated a little time and came out with a 103. It just takes a little effort
Dr. Mitchell is a great teacher. I had her for both A and P 1 and 2. She is not easy but you learn alot from her. she gives the material you need to do good on exams. homework load is light. I would take her for every science if I could.
worst of the worst. does not care about students. grading is harsh, very boring. will fail you in a heart beat. no matter how hard you study.
I LOVE DR. MITCHELL! I really enjoyed her class. Dr. Mitchell cares a lot about her students and wants them to succeed. You have to make sure to study, but Dr. Mitchell gives you a lot of chances to perform well in her class if you try. She scales her tests, too. She's very helpful, knowledgeable and funny, too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. MITCHELL!
Dr. Mitchell is excellent! She was always available to help me. Although it was online, she would take time to explain concepts to me whenever I asked. Do all quizzes and dropbox essays! Online exams are from textbook info. Use practice quizzes to study in ConnectPlus. Lab exam was challenging, but all images were from APR or book.Go Gators!:)
Awesome Instructor! She kept the class interesting and I learned a lot! I was never a fan of science until I took her courses.
I took the Summer session, so we had 2 essays a week. Her reviews are not helpful at all in the class. I wish she had a study guide for each test. In a crunched amount of time, instead of getting to what we had to know, she had to cover everything. Which left students confused about the information. I do not recommend her.
I really enjoyed A&P 2 with Dr. Mitchell. She really knows her stuff and grades fast with scales too! She answers emails quickly and is very helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mitchell for any anatomy class at NWFSC! I earned my A with a lot of studying. Thanks Dr. Mitchell!
She is a great teacher. She really knows her stuff and wants you to be successful in learning the material. She is super funny and sweet. She comes off as a hard teacher but when you get to used to her she's terrific. She really does care for her students. She's a brilliant human being. I would take her again. You definitely have to study though
She is the best teacher I've ever had and funny. I took her this past semester for Anatomy and Physi. I earned an A. The work is reasonable and you definitely do have to study for the tests and lab exams but she scales them which helps SO MUCH. If you actually put in the effort you can easily make an A. Taking her again next semester for A&P II!
She was very good at answering questions and had a good structure, the information was just very hard.
By far, the best Microbiology instructor at NWFSC! She's very helpful and her lectures are very entertaining. The exams are multiple choice and short answer. Labs are very easy to follow. Disease report is due at the end. I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell for Micro. I also took her BSC1085Cand BSC1086C classes and got A's. She is a great professor!
Probably the hardest I have ever worked for an A. Her lectures are more like outlines for what you need to read in the book; be prepared to spend a lot of time reading. The better your notes, the better grade your grade. If you have a questiondon't understand something, she is willing to help which is a plus. Read ahead for the labs.
I would recommend taking this class in class unless you are a strong reader and retainer. After meeting the professor in person I wish I would have taken this class on campus. Either way this class is challenging due to how much you need to learn and memorize. But utilizing the bookonline content and putting time into it you can pass the class.
I got an A in A&P II. I enjoyed the class a lot! Dr. Mitchell and I had phone consults when I had trouble with some of the topics since it was online. She is very knowledgeable and wanted me to learn. Make sure you know how to use the cadaver dissection. It's great and I learned a lot about the human body. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mitchell!
She gives great insight based on previous experiences, great examples and funny, to boot! She enjoys teaching and it shows!
Highly recommend Dr. Mitchell and I am taking her for A&P2 next semester. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Preparing me for my nursing career. One of the best professors I have ever had. Wish she could teach all of my classes! If you want to learn anatomy, take Dr. Mitchell. Her lectures are awesome! She's very funny which makes class great.
Professor Mitchell is a great teacher. She can be confusing at points, but she tries to let you know what exactly will be on the tests. If you read the chapters and really focus in class, you will do well. There is an online lab portion which is very helpful. Weekly essays, but they aren't difficult at all; she drops the lowest one at the end.
I took this online - big mistake! Tons of information (all bones, muscles, more) & you miss out on Dr. Mitchell. She is willing to help out but tests are tough. She does give reviews for midterm and final but they are a self study. Do them! Wish she gave them for the other two exams. Weekly essays, quizzes have till midterm and final to complete.
Dr. Mitchell was awesome! I had her for Bio Lab and she always made class fun! She's very specific with her lectures and as long as you write down good notes you'll be fine. Her test (including Final) matched up with everything she lectured about nothing was from something she didn't teach! Very easy, definitely recommend and will take again!
Doctor Mitchell is a great professor, but this course is not an easy one. Be prepared to work hard and learn a lot.
There is NO guidance you literally just read the book and she gives you the powerpoints from the book. Don't take this online do it in class. The lab portion is where I really suffered because I was just given a list of structures and expected to be able to identify them. She did let me make up a test I missed the deadline for, which saved me.
Dr. Mitchell is very supportive of military students in her online class. She is making sure I can complete her class even when my deployment makes it hard to get internet connections. I have had a few phone consultations to help with the coursework and the cadaver dissection tool. I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell. She really wants me to succeed!
Reminds me of Karen from Will & Grace, same joke delivery! Very funny, tons of stories. Lectures are excellent, and absolutely essential for passing; she emphasizes exactly what will be on the tests during lecture (I didn't read a single chapter the whole semester). Weekly 150 word essays turned in via DropBox. Lots of memorization for A&P - obv!
Great professor! A lot of work but worth it to learn so much from Dr. Mitchell. She makes class enjoyable with her lectures and is funny too. I hope to be a nurse and Dr. Mitchell has helped me learn a lot about human anatomy. Weekly essay assignments are good practice and I got A's on all of mine. She adds points to exams. I'm taking her for A&P2!
Dr. Mitchell is AWESOME! I highly recommend her. Very clear and concise with her lectures and test matter.
This class is not easy, but is very doable. She lectures on the test material, but if you're like me "pictures are not always best." I found that this class is a lot of teach yourself by reading material. I signed up for a 3.5 hour class only to have her leave early every time and breeze through a good portion of her lectures.
Good teacher, flexible with emergency situations and willing to let take make up exams.
A lot of quizzes, a few major tests, and a lot of papers to write. All get you well prepared if you study for her class but you HAVE to study.
Dr. Mitchell is an amazing professor! The classes are challenging but as long as you work hard you can earn a A or B. Her lectures are great and informative. I am prepared for nursing school thanks to her classes. I took her for A&P 1 & 2. She definitely wants her students to do good.
Awesome teacher, she is to the point her lectures include humor she is very knowledgeable and give great explanations, taking her for A&P II.
Great professor! You must study. The class is manageable if you put in effort and study. I really enjoyed her class. She curves the exam grades.
Great teacher, she really brings the process your learning into an everyday life perspective. She gives little says or abbreviations to remember things. I took her for both A&P I and II. If I have a chance in the future I will take her again.
Do not take this class if you do not have to. It is hard. Curves can get up to around 20 points, which is a blessing. Teacher is wonderful. Lab exam is fairly easy if you study structures. 16 essays (easy), 16 quizzes (easy), 3 tests (straight-forward), 1 lab exam (easy if you know it), 1 final (eh). Study guides give exact info needed for tests.
I took her online. This class is hard. Her tests are lengthy 100 question tests that are mostly indirect questions that almost throw you for a loop. Essays every week. you will end up having to study and dedicating a lot of time trying to keep up, especially if you have other classes and life going on. For me, this was a difficult class.
A LOT OF STUDY MATERIAL. SHE GIVES YOU A STUDY GUIDE THAT ONLY INCLUDE TOPICS BUT ITS NOT VERY SPECIFIC, WHICH CAN BE A LITTLE FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THERE IS SOOO MUCH MATERIAL TO STUDY. EACH EXAM IS 5 CHAPTER WHICH IS APPROX 40 PAGES PER CHAPTER. ESSAYS ARE DUE EVERY THURSDAY AND THERES AN EXAM EVERY 2 WEEKS. SHE DOES GIVE YOU SOME EXTRA POINTS THO.
Dr. Mitchell was great. Don't think you can take this class online because you're already somewhat familiar with an A&P class. This is not the case. I will say there was a lot of reading and HW which was hard to keep up with if you're taking other classes. If I could do it all over again, I would've registered for an inclass session.
Hardest class I've ever taken. I wish I would've taken a different class or different teacher.
Doctor Mitchell is very knowledgeable and helpful. This class was challenging but as long as you study youll get a B or A. Dont wait to study for the lab test. The pictures were all from the cadaver tool. Dont miss any essays. Use the study guides. She gets back to students fast. Overall, shes great!
If you are looking for a Micro professor Dr. Mitchell is it!! Not going to say this class is easy, but you will definitely learn a whole lot. Expect to write about 8 mini essays and one research paper (no something to stress about) they are easy A's. If you highlight in book along with the lectures you will pass. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!
took attendance. was scared to take science at college but made an A in this one. you do have to read the chapters and study for the tests but she is a good teacher and wants to see you succeed. 4 tests, mult choice w extra credit, and some easy 200 word essays and a project to help your grade. you'll have to do work but it is worth it for the A.
Online. Teacher doesn't respond to emails often. To pass you must be self disciplined & able to learn by reading the book on your own. Study guide helps for Exams. Online Lectures/Power Points are a waste of time. Read the chapter, take notes, use the smart book study tools. Curves all Exams. Essays are easy but grading scale is unclear.
Online. Don't bother with Lectures or PowerPoint Presentations. Read Chapters, Take Notes, Use Study Guides, & Use SmartBook Study Tools. To do well, must be Self Disciplined & able to learn from book. Very "Hands-off" style Professor (essentially directs you to the topics in the book you have to learn on own). All exams are curved.
I wouldn't take another course with this professor unless absolutely necessary to my degree. The amount and level of information that was needed was way above an A&P I level class. Test were 100 questions for a 60 min time frame. Some of the questions did not match the material. It seemed as if I was going through a Dr. program, very discouraging.
I enjoyed all of Dr. Mitchell's classes. The online anatomy classes are not easy As but take a lot of work. I think if you study and contact her with questions you will do fine. I loved her Micro and biology classes! I feel like she wanted me to learn a lot and I did. I want to be a nurse. I feel very prepared now because of Doctor Mitchell.
Her class is not very hard, she gives you a study guide for every test, although the tests are slightly difficult. She curves them though. She's a great science professor; she knows her stuff! The book is used only online and you almost never stay to the end of the class time.
Im taking her for Anatomy and physiology 1 right now and the test are 100 questions, 85 mins each you have about 4 exams a midterm and final. You also have 8 essay assignments and you have to have a lock down browser and a camera. The test are extremely hard even if you study. You have to read the chapters in detail. you also have a lab exam
Dr. Mitchell's class is challenging but really not too hard. She emails back fast and does video meetings since I'm not close to the college. Watch her videos and use the study guides and you'll pass easily. The lab exam was easy multiple choice, just find all of the pictures to study. I highly recommend her for this class and also A&P 1.
Dr. Mitchell is a funny professor who is passionate about what she teaches. The class is pretty tough. Theres an exam every other week and lectures in between. Theres also a short response to write every other week. Theres also a lab test and the final. Study study study!! You have to really work for your grade.
Professor Mitchell is the actual best. By far my favorite Professor at NWFSC. She's informative but also easy going. She knows her topics so pay attention and it'll be smooth sailing. she does have a lot of tests and they're long but all multiple choice. She's such a cool prof. she has loads of cool stories and is super straight forward.
If you are reading this, this is a sign to NEVER! EVER! TAKE A CLASS WITH PROFESSOR MITCHELL! I had her for my online class and she puts ZERO effort into actually teaching the material and she takes so long to respond to anything you may need help with! The tests are almost 100 questions long and they are SO HARD even if you study for hours on end
I have to say Dr. Mitchell was an amazing teacher! She has a lot of patience and will work with you in any way possible. She does make you work for your grade but its well worth it cause I learned so much from her class. I plan to take her for A&P2 online. I thought I wouldnt be able apply myself to online classes but she restored my faith.
This class was the toughest I've ever taken, but Professor Mitchell provided lecture videos that helped. Make sure to read the chapters and use her study guides. Tests are difficult, but she curves the grade which helped A LOT. There are also 7 essays (200 words each) and 13 cadaver quizzes to take.
The tests are extremely hard. The lectures are not well thought out. Gets too specific and heavy into the material and teaches at a doctorate level, not as a basic college course. Would not take anything she teaches again
Dr. Mitchell was by far my favorite professor for anatomy. Took A&P 1 with McArthur and failed. But got a B in both A&P 1 + 2 with Mitchell. You'll be cramming a lot so study well. All her exams were multiple choice which made it a little easier but you HAVE to read the book. Gives generous grade curves. Be prepared to write short essays often.
Jean had videos for exams but the videos did not explain anything, she pretty much just went through the notes telling you to review it yourself. You had to teach yourself. The exams are big and theyre pretty much the only part of your grade.
She knows her stuff! I believe she said she was a med school professor too, so her lecture videos have good detail and she's not boring in the lectures. Heavy reading and mostly self-study. Focus on the bolded material, take good notes. We had a writing project at the end that was an easy A to boost your grade. I would take again but only in person
Dr. Mitchell is not super involved but if you reach out to her for help or questions she is quick to respond, she also gives good feedback on essays. Pretty easy class but the quizzes are time consuming and the tests are tough, however many study sources are available. If youre an independent worker/learner this is the class for you!
She doesn't teach; she's merely the host of an online course. You'll teach yourself by reading the textbook, going over the powerpoint, using her "Chapter reviews" which just label 90% of the headings in the book that you're already reading. She has 3 year old videos where she 'reviews' by telling you to learn things as she scrolls through the ppt.
Her online classes are easy to follow. This is my 2nd class with Dr. Mitchell. Got a A both times. Talked to her on the phone and Zoom. She's super helpful and easygoing. Grade is mc exams, essays, lab quizzes. Used the dissection program a LOT. Use study guides and watch her videos. She adds extra points to tests! I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell!
scrolls through her powerpoints as reviews for test and does not break down the material enough for someone taking anatomy and physiology 1. she is too smart for her own good and just speaks as if you should automatically understand everything she says. very difficult class that includes multiple mental breakdowns and taco bell trips at 2AM.
Unfortunately, if you are not able to self teach you will not do well. She gives you a long list of concepts and topics and tells you to study that. Then on the test she asks for obscure items that may or may not have been in your choice of study material. Her class is not tailored well for online students. The only thing that helps are her essays.
Dr. Mitchell is GREAT! Easy to pass if you just try. She helped me when I had health problems and made sure I finished the class. Class takes time but she adds points to tests and lab stuff wasn't too hard to learn, essays are easy. COOL dissecting program! She called me when I needed help. I'm taking A&P 2 this summer with Dr. Mitchell.
Dr. Mitchell is a phenomenal professor. I'm taking more classes with her. She is very relatable and really wants to make sure everyone understands the information. I'm in the military and she's making sure I get everything done before I deploy. I would recommend Dr. Mitchell to anyone needing to take science classes. She truly cares about students.
TESTS ARE TERRIBLE. Way too hard. Took this class with several of my fellow 4.0 straight A classmates and we all struggled to pass. Literally the only good thing about this course was that she adds a huge grading scale to exams. If you need to add 16 points to a test to make most people pass- theres a problem! Wouldnt take this ever again.
Shes truly the best teacher Ive ever had. Years later, I can still remember her speeches.
Professor Mitchell had a lot of negative reviews before I decided to take her. Well, ignore them. Shes an incredible teacher who helps students when they are in need. Zoom calls, office hours, you name it. Shes down to earth and really cares about what she teaches. Test are a majority of your work, so study hard with everything she provides.
Great professor! Really wants her students to pass her class, but you have to put effort into it. The course consists of 6-7 labs, a lab report (not difficult), participation, 2-3 quizzes, a lab notebook, and a final exam. We only met once a week (hybrid), so it was CRITICAL to go to class. Her stories will have you on the floor! Review your notes!
This class was really hard. The best advice, STUDY HARD! I took a full load to finish my prerequisites, so it was very hard to keep up. She is an amazing teacher who knows her material. However, she does lecture most of the time, she answers any questions you have. Take a lot of notes and study.
Prof. Mitchell's tests are hard, only if you don't know what to study. Make sure you study the end of chapter review quizzes in the text book. Most test questions come from those end of chapter reviews; definitely pay attention to those, otherwise, you're going to get low grades. Also Professor Mitchell gives generous grading curves!
Easy B or A if you try. She answers questions fast and showed me best way to study for tests. Used her lecture videos and study guides. Lab exam is right from pictures on book website. Also got A in AP1 with Dr. Mitchell. I would recommend taking her for science classes.
Dr. Mitchell doesn't lecture or teach you the material! She goes through the powerpoints and her "lectures" consist of her saying something will be on the test and telling you to look at it. If you can't learn this way or teach yourself the material, don't take her classes.
Taking A&P 2 now with Dr. Mitchell because her online classes seem very easy for me to follow. Can be hard if you skip studying. Extra added points helped my test grades. She said nice things about my essays. Had 2 Zooms with her because I needed help with MacGraw. Wish I could take a regular class but online fits better with my job and kids.
This is the 3rd time I have taken A&P 1 with Professor Mitchell. Her class is hard; if you can't teach yourself, you will drown. I have finally passed but also realized I started taking it seriously.
Great online micro class setup and very easy to follow. Ebook and lab activities were helpful. Tests were kinda challenging but all questions came from her study sheets. One long disease essay to write. Do extra credit just in case! Took anatomy with Dr. Mitchell and can recommend her for any science classes.
The test given can be very rigorous (up to 5 chapters for 1 test) but you should be okay if you take your time studying. She gives good feedback to the essays assigned, which are pretty easy prompts and given the option to pick between two. If you have any questions outside of her class, she responds quickly which I appreciate.
Lectures can be hard to follow, Dr Mitchell tends to bounce around a lot and even skip over or hardly talk about important topics that are included on tests and quizzes. Tough grader, heard lots of my classmates mention struggling in the class as well. Likes to throw in her own opinions pretty often. Lab activities were usually pretty fun.
Dr. Jean Mitchell made this anatomy class good for online people I should get a B or A because she's dropping lowest test grade I got a low grade on it for not studying when I was on vacation. That test would've tanked my grade! Watch her videos to tell you what to look at and she says funny stuff. I'll take the next anatomy class in fall with her.
Required us to keep track of EVERYTHING done in class, taking chronological notes in our notebooks to turn in at the end of the course. Did not tell us what to take notes of, just said to take some notes on our labs and did not tell us what she wanted, causing multiple students to get poor grades on the notebook due to not knowing what she wanted.
I look forward to her weekly lectures and she cares that we understand what she's talking about. She tells funny stories a lot. Easy A
Doctor Mitchell made this class easy to follow and as long as you study the book you will be OK. Exams cover a lot of stuff but the guides tell you what to study mostly. I am going to take the next anatomy class AP2 with her too. Follow deadlines and don't miss anything. I will recommend registering for Doctor Jean Mitchell's classes.
A lot of info but doable if you use study guides. Watch her videos and do the other assignments since exams can be kind of challenging. Dr. Mitchell answered my emails quick and we had a few Zooms. Recommend her highly! She is helpful and knowledgeable.
Lectures are very short and not a lot of detail. Gives us a study guide for the test which ends up being about 80 pages of notes to memorize covering 6 chapters. The way her test questions are they're very difficult. McGraw-Hill study review does not help. Their questions are totally different than hers. She drops the worst test grade. Lab test ok
This professor is lecture heavy! She goes fast & does not go into details. Her study guides only help if u spend 4hrs a day 4 weeks. My entire class has complained to her face about her teaching method. she told us don't worry even failing the test we should still pass the class with a 70. -_- I do not recommend taking her esp. If you have +classes
Easy A! Had some Zooms and Dr. Mitchell helped me. Tests are thorough but all other assignments and labs are very easy to get high scores. One report on a human disease. I will take her next anatomy and microbiology class this summer for the nursing program. Take her classes!
Professor Mitchell was very hard to follow. Her lectures were all over the place and it was hard to know what was going to be on the quizzes. She is very sweet and her labs are interesting however, if you don't want to teach yourself this class might not be your best option.
Took three of Dr. Mitchell's classes and recommend her highly. Good preparation for nursing program. Watch her videos!
Dr. Mitchell is great! A&P 1 is tough, with lots of material to cover, however, study guides are given for each module, and a BRIEF overview lecture for each chapter is available for studying purposes. This course had 3 module exams, a lab exam, a disease report, and a final exam. As long as you read the chapters and study, you'll be fine :)
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!! ;) Highly recommend Dr. Mitchell!! =)
Don't take her class. If you do make sure you read to textbook and her notes because the test could have just about anything on it, half the test is short responses. There is one essay and it is a major part of your grade. I got a 50. Which she said I was lucky to even get that. She is not very active in the class.
Dr. Mitchell designed this microbiology class to make everything easy to understand and to get a good grade if you try. Exams are straightforward from study guides and got 100 on my infectious disease essay. Learned a lot from this class for nursing school. Labs are kind of fun! Definitely watch her videos to know what to study mostly.
Study guide does not reflect what was in the text. Don't listen to what she says at all. Only study guide useful is lab exam. If you want to score an A, then you would need to study each chapter for 3 hours minimum every single day. Don't recommend taking it during fall or spring. Overall 4/10 professor.
Recommend Dr. Mitchell for online classes. Easy to follow and understand. Her tests are hard but passable if you read a lot, discussion posts with other students were good, easy report on a disease helped bring my grade to A from high B. Lab test was not too bad with photos from cadavar and multiple choice answers. Hope A&P2 online is also easy.
Earning a high grade is not a given. It's a commitment. This isn't a class you can coast through. Come in prepared by reading ahead. If a subject or topic is unclear, ask questions. DON'T BE SHY!Be ready for the Nervous System unit, it was the HARDEST part of the course for almost every student. EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE AND HAVE FUN! YOU'VE GOT THIS.
