SOC 1 should be super easy if you attend class everyday for a chance to use a 3 pg. study guide on the exams. I've never studied off the book, but instead used his power points.

Just finished taking Professor Gatillon's SOC20 class this winter term and I must say I'm so glad I chose his class. His lectures are beyond clear and understandable. Extra Credit is provided so definitely take advantage. Test questions are pulled from lecture notes as well as the book. *Hint* don't skip class and you'll be rewarded big time!

Amazing professor. No homework unless didn't complete the in class activities, but they're super easy. He gives TONS of extra credit, I ended up having 40 EC points without doing a single EC assignment. If you have perfect attendance or excused absences, he lets you use a 3 page cheat sheet (front and back) for exams

Syllabus is straightforward, but get read to read, cite, and keep a word count! Class was easy, but you had to turn in assignments Wed, Sat, & Sunday which was odd (breaking up the assignments?). Don't plagiarise or you will risk your grade! Make sure your writing is up to 68 or 1A as well as knowing your citations! Other than that, he's cool!

Multiple choice questions are right from the textbook. Tests are not cumulative. Lecture notes are all online. His SOC 5H course is a solid choice for anyone seeking honors credit.

Legendary. I have never met someone who is so dedicated to his students. It's roughly impossible to get a B for this. He replies the fastest but it's recommended you take your draft to the writing center first before checking it with him. Amazing professor! YES! this class requires reading and writing however if you use his notes if will reduce the workload. The final is open book, open notes. It is nearly impossible not to pass.

Prof is caring and grading is clear :) Mostly you'll be making discussion posts +2 responses and you can miss 1 week free (but with the generous extra credit, I was able to skip 2 weeks and still get an A). The 3 exams are no time limit and open book. You will read a whole textbook for this class. It can be a lot, but the subject is interesting.

Professor Gatillon really inspired me to participate in class. He gave such detailed feedback which really assisted students' learning outcome. There is about 2-3 chapters worth of reading per week, but his powerpoints help shorten the amount of time you need to fully grasp the concepts. Really fun final project too. HIGHLY recommend him!!!

Hes not easy, don't expect jibberish lazy writing to get you a passing grade. Prof Gatillon is tough but is extremely thorough in what he expects, inspirational and passionate about teaching, a dying breed. Offered extra credit and i believe exam 1 and 2 were short responses while final exam was 50 qt of multiple choice. recommend getting the textbook as he took most from it for final exam. a project at the end about a film that can be found thru yt. you have to not do the work to earn a grade below an A.
