this teacher is hilarious. his class is like a comedy act. Take this teache rjust for the fun of it. exams are all open book, not much studying needed, easy grades if you actually read through material!!

Pommainville is certainly not an easy grader, but apart from that... yes you will enjoy his classes, and yes you will learn law. You will not learn how to present it though, and there is practically no possibility given to learn by doing.

He wears ugly duck shoes. Funny guy. Keeps the class interesting but he makes it hard for you on the exam because he doesn't really give you a method for writing his exams which causes him to seem like a tough grader (which he kinda is...)

He is very funny. The class is interesting and easy. He is a good professor to take it with. I will suggest you don't miss one class because you'll be lost after.Write everything he says.The exams he gives are soooo funny.

The course is interesting. He is very entertaining and knows he stuff. I can't figure out what kind of marker he is. I thought I wrote a bad test and I did semialright. I thought I wrote a good test and I did just alright. Must go to class and must read the book.

This teacher is great! He's really funny and makes a dull subject interesting with funny stories and examples. If you understand the basics and pay attention you will get a good grade. Wish I had more teachers like him!!

It's hard to know what to expect for this class. It's also not easy to get a good grade - there was only one A in our section, the next highest was B+. Pommainville is a really fun teacher though. He will keep you awake throughout the class!

The course pack makes no sense untill Jean explains it in class - often with jokes. Open book exams, but still hard to get high grades.

guys, this teacher is the most funnest and most helpful teacher ull ever get in this unversity, he makes the most boringest subject so much fun!!! He explains everything so well,make sure u go to his classes cuz the course pack is pretty complicated.

I love this guy! He's so funny :) He even jokes about getting a "hot" rating on this site. He explains thing really well, and will keep you awake during a late class. Just be prepared marks-wise...it's hard to get an A in this class

He is really interesting and funny! And being that he is a lawyer - he really knows his stuff. It's important to attend his lectures to get the proper notes for the exams. Highly recommended.

Hilarious guy. Knows his material very well. Has been doing this for 20years. Very helpfull, gives great examples and even finds time to make his students laugh out loud. Truly, small effort is necessary to get an A in his class. He's a bit of a tough marker, but very fair. He encourages participation and NO ONE every falls asleep in his class.

Best teacher ever! He makes learning law interesting and applicable to real life. He curves, so grades are based on average response. What he says is important and although you don't have to go you won't understand much if you don't. Take him over others, he's hilarious!

This prof is amazing! He is so funny and makes you want to go to class. First midterm is a little tough, but the 2nd midterm and final is a brerze. Attend class though because his questions are based on his lectures.

The best teacher i have ever had. It made me love law and understand it. He takes time to explain articles and verbalizes it into small talk. very funny and note taking is a must if you want a good grade. NEVER miss a class, take notes, study them and you will do well.

A very down to Earth person who loves to joke around. He's very good at simplifying the law gibberish into very clear explanation. His examples are hilarious and it helps you remember the terms and how they are all interconnected. And please people, give him a hot pepper! Always attend class, his exams are based on the material he focuses in class.

He is funny and understand the material.. but he doesnt care what you get in the class.. and tries to be funny all the time... dont bother goin to office hours.. or asking questions in midterm or final he wont answer..Dont take this course with him!

This class was one of the best ones I've taken at ConU. I really enjoyed the teacher and the material. The material is easy and as long as u relate the cases in the book to the exam u'll get a good grade. Take this teacher. Dont even think twice about it!

I agree, he is a funny teacher and tries his best to make the class understand. However, the flip side to all this is if you are an A student, beware, it is very hard to get an A as your final grade. From what I hear, they don't like to give A's in this course.

Great lecturer. Likes to make a lot of jokes about his material. He makes what should be an extremely boring class,into a very entertaining class.With him, the subject matter seems clear but its hard to get a good mark on the tests for some reason. Didn't offer office hours before final. Might have been due to part time prof union strike action.

He's a good teacher, clear notes, funny. The only problem is he doesn't correct his exams, some b*tch masters student does it and she grades you as if your a law student. Way to hard grader. Expect a C to B max.

One of the best teachers at ConU. Super funny...class super interesting...One problem..he just doesnt give a damn...and he doesnt correct exams...this random girl does it and she is EXTREMELY hard marker....WATCH OUT....if u want a better grade take someone else..its such a shame cuz hes amazing.. she ruins it all.. :(

Ok, those of you who say it is impossible to get an A, you are all wrong. The trick is to actually to TAKE NOTES in class. And make sure the notes are really thorough, it will help you in your midterms.

The midterms are quite easy, and it is possible to do well on them if you give very detailed and complete answers - the marker is very picky. they dont prepare u very well for what u face on the final exam tho. its MUCH harder. :( this teacher, however, is hilarious. class is a pleasure to attend. he explains well & makes paying attention easy.

wow, the best teacher in the school. he's SOOOO funny, i've never laughed so hard in a class. I got an A, so it is definitely possible if you take good notes, study, and give thorough answers. my only wish is that he taught classes other than COMM 315, so i could take him again. :(

Great teacher, real-world lawyer; makes the class fun and interesting. It's fun to listen to him; he's engaging. My beef though with him is that the second midterm wasn't adequately covered in class and missing information couldn't be found in the book. A lot of questions in the exams felt like they went beyond the course and lectures. Not cool.

Amazing, hilarious prof. I haven't felt that excited to go to a class in a long time. Great job in making a dry subject super interesting. Very open to questions and comments. One thing though: do not skip class. The book is absolutely useless without his explanation. Exams are a bit weird but nothing impossible.

He has made a boring class interesting. Everything he says is important, even though it might not be in the textbook.

Exams are fair, not hard. Teachers make subject easier to digest considering law is pretty boring. He explains the laws in a much more real life situation so that it becomes helpful for you knowledge. The textbook are just plain laws, teachers gives all the explanations. So go to class. Funny teacher.

Very funny, honest guy, his lectures are the same since like 2008 with same examples so you can attend any section's lecture and itl be the same lecture, but he is very clear and gets the material in your head only by attending his lectures. Two 25 MC midterms and 50 MC final, which sucks, but as a teacher,highly recommended!

I did not find him helpful at all. Law is already boring I just went to class to get my other studying done. Midterms are very tricky for some reason and final was just as tricky. They somehow turn what could be an easy class into something really confusing for absolutely nothing. I heard other teachers are much better, did not attend .5 classes

This class is an easy A if you attend all lectures and stay engaged during them. Pay attention to the examples that he uses for how to apply legal concepts. Both mid-terms and final were M/C. He has a weird grading policy but I managed to do well with below average studying.

Extremely effective teaching, very entertaining, nice person. Sadly, the evaluations do not appear to effectively discriminate between students who study and those who don't. Random results from one test to another for a given student. Most of the class ends up getting B. Frustrating. The method of evaluation needs to be examined critically.

Awsome prof, he really brings what could be a horribly boring subject to life, makes jokes, makes it interesting and memorable (which really helps for exams!) All exams are multiple choice, 25-25-50, basically one question per % of ur final grade! Trust me, take him!! Way better than other profs for 315.

If the other teacher's are horrible, you must take HIM! The good sides are: he makes class pass really fast(boring subject), he gives great examples and explanations. The downsides are: You depend on him(not book), he doesn't explain everything for exam, and he's not too helpful... However, There are horrible teachers out there and he is ok not

He's a great guy, very respectful to students. You appreciate that he actually tries to explain things instead of being lazy and unhelpful(like others). Only pitfall is that his exams are tricky and he doesn't prepare you because he only covers it in a basic manner. Except that, take him! Subject is very boring and he makes class go super fast.

Great teacher! One of the best teacher i've ever had! Yes, he is old school, no powerpoint, you need to take heaps of notes and write fast! But then, the way he speaks and explains stuff is so clear that you dont need additional study to succeed. Just read your notes and the coursepack and youll be great! Funny, friendly, know his stuff! You'll pass the class without ever attending but for those who do go, he makes a boring subject actually fun. Answers students questions and gives exemples that makes the harder midterm questions seem easy. I would say attendance is the only way to ace his class. He believes class average should be b- or c.

Love his humour! Law can be dreadful at times, but he definitely tries his best to make the course interesting while explaining the material clearly. Very respectful to his students, listens to every question.

For such a dry class, he's a pretty good professor He explains well and tries to give life examples to associate it with the law concepts He has 2 of his own tests which are a bit tricky and apparently more difficult than other sections

He's a great prof, very knowledgeable and accessible outside of class if you need anything. This class can be dry but he makes it feel like a breeze. Tries to include little bits of humour in his exams too.

Tricky MCQs and lectures can be long and boring.

Fun and excellent teacher, he made a boring course fun. He also did his best to cover as much content as possible. Although exams are hard to me (non native speaker)

Jean makes such a boring topic a very interesting and dynamic experience and he makes sure to cover as much material as possible. Make sure to attend all of his lectures as he gives an easier explanation to the concepts. Also read the textbook, it helps a lot. If you encounter difficulties, reach out to him. Doable to pass his class.

Read the whole textbook and take notes to be prepared for the exam. Get the paper textbook so that you can bring it to the final (don't write inside). You don't need to attend lectures to do well, but the prof's lectures are really great. He explains really well and gives lots of examples, very engaging, and encourages us to ask questions.
