I am a Psychology major and i was very disapointed in this teacher. She reads straight from the book and can not give any further information on the topics we study. Her tests are fair as long as you read the book on your own but can be dificult because she jumps around and wont get half way through

Even though she reads directly from the text, I liked the fact she actually used the text unlike some other instructors. Her class was entertaining and her tests were easy. This class is an easy A, and what made it really enjoyable was the subject of the class.

She is a complete angel... So sweet and nice I really enjoyed her class and learned a lot from her... Her test are fair and she goes over everything that is going to be on it... I loved being in her class and would take every psych course with her if I could...

she speaks with the class takes up discussions exams based on the material of the book and with extra handouts very nice if you like the type that are strictly by the book then she is not for you

She is like a warm hug, she's so nice. She makes the course easy because she wants students to get it and be interested. Really makes the work accessible, and she's understanding and patient. This is a course that could suck with the wrong person, but she's wonderful... summer session was especially easy and relaxing, but interesting, too!

She is a very sweet and cute lady. She's straight out of the book. However, she is very sweet in class, open minded, not judgemental and VERY VERY VERY lenient and generous with the class. She like participation alot. What more can I say, she's great!

This professor is so sweet and very clear on what will be on her exams and if she thinks a question is unfair she'll give you extra points on your grade. The subject matter is very interesting and informative and she makes it easy to learn.

I love this teacher already and I haven't even taken her first test yet but by the opinions of others sounds like everything is gonna be okay if I follow her notes and the book. Even though I hear she's new to teaching I'm happy to have her as a professor because she's so specific and clear on everything she talks about. I don't walk out the class

I love this class, the professor makes everything soo clear, and exams are exactly what she says they will be, dont miss a class, read the text and notes, and you should get an A. Plus prof Ryan is sooo nice and patient, i really enjoyed this class

Really nice professor, she gives a review sheet before each test so you know what's on it and she doesn't give any suprises, they're straight forward questions. my only complaint is that she taught straight from the text book and the class seemed slightly elementary

This professor is probably the best at Hunter. She's clear, funny, reasonable, and you actually enjoy learning. She's helped me out so many times. I had a lot of fun in her class, she's the best!

Get friends plz, stop talking about your lives in class. Other than that, she's great, kind, and will always try to guide everyone in the right direction!

Love her! This is the second class I am taking with her, and I am sure I will get more. She gives 4 exam very easy! If you study the review sheet, and just know all the term, you get an A. But remember in order for that to happen you need to go in class because everthing comes from the lectures.

Easy A. Just read the text & attend class you'll do fine. Going to class makes reviewing for the tests easier but not entirely necessary. She also drops your lowest grade.

Such an easy A! I took 3 of her classes and all are very, very simple. I just studied EVERYTHING FROM THE BOOK (SIC!) after getting a review sheet and submitted extra credit work whenever possible. She is extremely nice and overly indulgent.

easy A if you come to class and take notes. reading the book might help with one or two questions on the midterm but you'll be ok even without those few questions. majority of the exam materials with be from the notes. speak up, participate and you'll be on her A list! loved her!!!

prof ryan goes out of her way to make sure her students are taken care of. Notes-review sheets and outside help are always available. If you dont do well in one of her classes you simply didnt try. She is the type of person you want to hug everytime you see her :)

Prof. Ryan is helpful and understanding. She drops one of the lowest exam grade and gives extra credit for those who want to improve their grade. Her exams are easy, all multiple choices, her lectures are all from the text. Definitely take her for psych 170. Easy A.

EASY A, shes really nice. I felt like i was in kindergarden alot of time. The topic can be boring especially if you had sex ed in HS but its always good to take this class because theres alot of things that can be learned from this class.

This class was quite easy. She gives 4 multiple choice exams and gives review sheets before the exam. It was during the summer, so we had an exam every week. She takes attendance everyday and the exams are based a lot on her class notes, so it's important to attend class. She is also very friendly and nice to all of her students.

Professor Ryan is so nice and clearly wants everyone to succeed. There are four simple exams (the lowest grade besides the final is dropped), and she gives out a ton of extra credit. Also one of the most interesting and enjoyable classes I've taken at Hunter thus far. Phenomenal, A+ professor.

Professor Ryan is a great professor. She is clear and organized. There is lot of class participation on interesting topics. She is not difficult as long as you attend class, read the text and study everything from her review sheet. It's a straightfoward class and she follows the text.

Prof. Ryan's technique of making all the information relevant to the students and reinforcing the material presented in the book, is the way to higher learning.

just finished her child psych summer class. shes a great professor and really knows the material. attendance is mandatory. always brings up material students can relate to and is not judgmental. her tests are from the review sheets she gives out and are straight forward.only teaches relevant things and is just AMAZING

she is an extremely sweet and kind lady and really funny in her lectures. The exams are hard though and are multiple choice, but she really does try extremely hard to help everyone out. i love her either way though cause she is a sweetheart.

I took her for Child 210 and Women 235. Both easy classes. Her exams are straight from the review sheet. She adds 10 extra credit points to each exam. She even allows you to do extra credit assignments to boost up your grade. And if you're a bad test taker she allows you to make it up by writing a paper.She gives you every opportunity to get an A!!

This class was awesome. I originally had no interest in taking it (but did b/c it was all that was left) and it turned out to be one of my faves. The subject matter is very interesting & Prof. Ryan is very passionate, funny, and easy-going. Grade is based on 4 tests (worst one is dropped) that are not that difficult at all. No essays! :)

If you don't get an A in this class, you weren't trying as she gives every opportunity for you to succeed. Prof. Ryan is understanding and kind. She also has a great sense of humor which makes the class fun. At times there was too much class participation making us fall a little behind, but the topics were interesting. I definitely recommend her!

Class is easy as long as you do the work. She gives MANY opportunities for you to succeed so there should be no academic excuses for anyone to fail. If you aren't good with the multiple choice exams she gives many extra credit opportunities as well as an optional research paper if you need to pull up your grade. Attendance is a must.

Very laid back and easy going woman. Take good notes in class while she talks because most of her exam questions are from her lectures, rather than the textbook. Do any extra credit assignments she assigns, those points are essential to boosting you from an A- to an A. Attendance is mandatory, so attend her lectures! Def recommend taking her class!

I took her for Psych of Women and Social Psych. She is a great professor. Got A+ for both (I am not a genius). Very clear and teaches lectures following the textbook topics and includes personal experience where it applies. Gives review sheets before exams. Go to class and you will be sure to get an A. Only con is she returns grades very late.

She is also the undergraduate adviser and is always open to staying a few minutes extra after class if time allows to answer questions unrelated to course. VERY friendly and easy to talk to.

Professor Jean is a wonderful professor that every psych student should take. She is clear, fair and funny.

Ryan spoon-feeds information. Extremely easy but you won't learn much. She is highly unorganized and does not fulfill promises of interesting class meetings, such as discussing the drawing's of children.

TAKE HER! I am a Junior and she is the BEST professor I've had so far at Hunter. She's such a sweet person and really cares for her students. Her tests are so easy and she explains concepts with real examples, which makes thing so much more interesting. 4 tests, lowest gets dropped & she gives extra credit! She didn't use the TB but it helped.

Very easy class. 90% exams, 10% attendance, no papers. I read straight out of the textbook for most part. Certain topics, you have to get the notes from her lectures. She doesn't post notes online. I did well enough not to take the final, she drops the lowest grade. I basically completed this course in 3 months.

Took her for the winter course. She does not use PP or gives notes. Get ready to write a lot, she is very nice and helpful. However, her reviews were long and only half of the review is in the exams. Gives extra credit. IF you do well in the exams you do not have to take the final.

Attendance matters as it is taken in every class. Besides that 3 exams and 1 final, lowest grade get drop but you do have to come in for final regardless. All exams are mostly taken from the textbook but her lecture summarizes the book. On a personal level, Prof Ryan is very caring and understanding. Her lectures are not boring. Extra credit gn.

Great lecturer, doesnt put students down when they ask questions and is accepting of all opinions. 4 non-cumulative exams based on notes and textbook, but notetaking makes you stay awake. Exams are not hard if you do the studying and you dont need to take the last one if you do well on the first three. Very clear on grading.

Four non-cumulative exams, drops the lowest grade; participation is 10%, tests are 90%. Very easy professor, kind and understanding. While I felt that she often diverted from the topic during lecture, everything you need to know is in the textbook. Seriously though, you MUST read the textbook

There are 4 exams (50 MC per exam) and allowed some to be open notes bc she was late to post the PPT or VT. Work may seem a lot (weekly BB discussion, 1-2 case studies per week) but if you can manage your time, then it should be fine. Exam can be tricky but she gives you 2 attempts. Overall, shes decent when it comes to teaching and is sweet.

Professor Ryan is super fair and understanding. I took her class in a winter semester, and even though the class is super condensed, she made the class enjoyable. She gives ample time to turn in assignments. For the exams, if you watch the lecture recordings, you will 100% do great on them. Take her class, you won't regret it.

Really sweet professor who clearly values and respects her students. She structured the class so that it's basically impossible to fail. There's a textbook for the class but I was fine without it (just used her slides to study and got all As).

Ngl her exams are not easy and require critical thinking skills / good test taking skills in general. BUT, she gives plenty of opportunities to do other work (paper, case studies) that can count as a 100 for exam grades. I think at the end of the day it was possible to only have two exams count. More or less everyone got an A

I really enjoyed her lectures, she does ask for a lot of discussion boards, but they are very doable. Very kind, professor, and does offer extra credit opportunities. Her exams are a bit challenging, but they are based on her slides and lectures.
