She is a very informative, she is excited about her lectures. I enjoyed her class. Very helpful.

She's nice and caring. You dont get many grades throughout the semester. Your main grades are your midterm and final which can be very difficult. You do 2 point papers weekly, which the points you get aren't even close to the amount of work they require. She's a caring and funny lady just needs to change the grading. You must take VERY good notes

Great professor. She loves what she teaches. Some of her jokes are corny, but they make you laugh. Lectures 2x a week, so if you cant stay up, dont take. Papers due every wk. 4 books are needed for the class, and they are ok, if you are interested in that kind of stuff, known as history. MidTerm and Final, along with wkly paper (which r 2 pts each)

One of the most interesting professors i have ever had. Lectures were very easy to follow, but make sure you take good notes which isnt hard to do since she puts up an outline. The weekly papers seem like a lot at first but are easy. She also gives out extra credit for just showing up so GO TO CLASS!

Great Prof. Always helpful. Mostly discussion classes so you learn a lot from each other.

She is one of my favorite teachers because she is reasionable teacher up here. She gives weekly papers that aren't too bad, they seem harder then they are.

She's a wonderful persona and a great professor that I especially recommend if you're interested in history. Attendance is mandatory and you need to come to class ready to listen and take notes. I found her midterm and finals to be insightful and interesting, but anyone expecting straight forward copy paste questions and answers may not like them.

Easiest class I've ever taken, even including high school. If you're going for the easy A, then this is your class. However, if you're someone who likes to be immersed in the material instead of being lectured at and given grade school level writing assignments, then this isn't for you. Friendly, helpful, and overall a nice professor. Just easy

AMAZING! just one hw a week, no midterms/finals/quizzes! just do that ONE hw a week, and PASS! truthfully, I never spoke in her class, but I still got a A, she talks of class participation, but really, you just sit there! she's so easy, nice, and she does stop if she goes to fast, she urges students to tell her if she's going too fast! so easy!

Dr. Mazak is a wonderful professor! She is very passionate about history. I never thought that I would like history, but I really like it now. If she is talking too fast in lecture, she will slow down if you tell her. There is no final. Most of the time, she lets my lecture out 15 minutes early. I love her lecture! Take Dr. Mazak!

I took her for history of the modern era that is required for everyone to take and i loved herrr. I hate history but this was my fav class this semister. If you actually want to learn take her. You have to go to class and do your work but its not hard at all she makes things really easy to understand. Shes funny and always helps students when neded

Make sure you read the book to pass her test. She's such a nice person. You can tell she really enjoys her job which makes it easier to do well. Sometimes she makes funny comments. I'm going to miss her class.

easy class 5 tests the books are important if you take good notes and put some time in to study you shouldn't get anything less than a B. It was another easy A for me tho

She is an amazing teacher and person! I loved her and her class. Reading the assigned pages is crucial. The extra credit questions during class are directly from them. She also moves fast but she will slow down and repeat anything with a smile. Diffentely a great pick.

Dr. Mazak-Kahne is an awesome professor. You have to read, but if you pay attention and do the readings the exams are a piece of cake. I definitely recommend her. She offers bonus points through clicker questions which are incredibly simple if you did the readings. TAKE HER.

I took upper level classes. Lots of reading. Frequent short writing assignments. Usually some kind of final project and no tests.

Did not really enjoy the content of the class, but she made it easy to learn, she's very funny. Tests (including the final) were 25 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each. She offers a fair amount of bonus, including attendance bonus. We did several readings and took 10 point book quizzes after each one.

She expects you to be mature & act like an adult, which is great. She's respectable. You read a bunch, but she quizzes you on it so just do it. Offers extra credit. Willing to help & repeat herself. You must attend class & take notes, she takes attendance everyday & she doesn't post her lecture slides. Just grow up & go to class.

I was in her women's history and wanted to drop it but she made me enjoy it. Online quiz every week on a reading. Easy points. She was funny when she spoke. Lots of lectures but they weren't terrible.

She is so awesome! The tests are not bad at all. Quizzes practically every week- do the readings and you'll get 100's. Gave a good bit of extra credit. If I could, I would take her again. She is so nice and really cares about helping you. Act your age, and you'll get along just fine

Definitely my favorite professor! She's so sweet and genuinely cares about her students. The online quizzes are so easy. The multiple choice on the tests are easy, but she grades the essays pretty hard. If you do the readings and take notes seriously, you'll do well. Offers a lot of extra credit. I'd take her again!

Dr Mazak-Kahne is awesome. Definitely recommend her. She gives bonus assignments toward each exam worth up to 20pts (4 exams). There are also some reading assignments with 10pt quizzes to go along with it after. Overall great class. Take notes, study & its an easy A. Not to mention she's hilarious & a very friendly prof always willing to help you!!

She is by far the best professor i have ever had! Her lectures are interesting and she makes them fun. She gives study guides and they are word for word what is on the exam. She is also very understanding with her office hours which is nice if you do have to miss class. I typed notes because she talks fast.

Be prepared to take a lot of notes. She doesn't post the powerpoints online so attendance is crucial if you want to pass. Her notes are broad so make sure to write down things she says during class. There is a reading and quiz every week and four exams throughout the semester. Overall, I enjoyed this class and would take Dr. Mazak-Kahne again!

This woman is amazing. Lectures are fun and she is hilarious. Not a fan of the class but she made me love it. If you show up, listen and take notes, and do the readings and outline you will get an A. Each test has an essay question but you know the 3 prompts before you take the test so you can prepare. Highly recommend taking her for something!

I loved U.S. History with Dr. Mazak-Kahne! Such an interesting class since her focus was Women in History. She is absolutely hilarious in class, which makes time go by so fast. Her lectures are very clear, and she makes it really easy to ask questions. No homework, 4 exams, and a few short papers. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Mazak-Kahne is great! She is hilarious during lecture and makes the time pass fast. There are online quizzes every once in awhile but you have from Friday- Monday at to take them. Attendance is crucial because she does not put the power points online and all the information for the tests and essays come from the lecture/book.

Way funnier than people give her credit for. Very understanding but also requires a certain amount of respect, which is completely reasonable. Many students complain about her no cell phone policy, but you really will do much better without it, and its all she asks of you. Small price to pay for everything she delivers!

She was an amazing professor who made lectures interesting and exciting. The only real downside is her tests are text heavy and papers require clear-cut facts. She is a hard grader on said papers and will rip it apart if it doesn't meet her standards. But overall an amazing professor.

Dr. Mazak is such a great teacher. She cares individually about her students and is always willing to help. She requires some thought and effort to be put into the class, but she always keeps it fun and jokes around. You WILL use any textbooks she assigns and you should never put off any papers you have to write for her - she grades hard on papers

I didn't think I would like her due to her tough grading style, but as the semester went on, she became one of my favorites. I love her humor and she is always ready to help you if you need. Attendance is mandatory, participation does matter, and no cell phone use in class. The textbook is a must, as that's where her tests come from. 10/10

She's super funny and really cares about her students. All of her tests are taken online on your own time. She grades her essays very tough. She's super easy to talk to and you can tell she's passionate about her job. She makes history very easy to learn and I don't dread going to class. I could not have picked a better professor for History.

Never dread going to her class! Her lectures are very detailed, but interesting. You can tell she loves what she does. She is hilarious and says the funniest things. Her tests area little challenging, but if you pay attention in class you will be fine. Essays also aren't terrible. Always lets us out 15 minutes early too! Highly HIGHLY recommend! :)

Dr. Mazak-Kahne was my favorite professor this semester. She has an appropriate sense of humor. She will most likely let you out of class very early most days. All tests are online, and the answers are easily found in the book. The only thing I would say that kept this rating from a 5.0 is her tough grading on essays. Show up to class its mandatory

Absolutely loved having her as a professor. She understands that Hist 196 is a 100 level course and treats it as such. Her class is lecture heavy, but I never found myself being bored because she made them so interesting. The class is set up very straight forward. 5 Online Chapter Tests. 4 Essays. Participation. Would highly recommend taking her.

My favorite professor this semester! She is super funny and tried to connect with all of the students in my class. All of the tests are online, and if you take them in a group they are really easy. Every class is a lecture but I never dreaded going to her class because she made them so interesting. 10/10 would take again

Dr. Mazak-Kahne is a really good professor. She makes it very clear of what is expected of you, and how to succeed in her class. A huge majority of the assignments come from the textbook, so you will need it. She is a bit of a no-nonsense type of prof, but if you put in the effort, she will be understanding. Her lectures are interesting and funny.

You will not pass if you don't do the required readings, and there's a lot. The lecture information is also very important to the tests. She is very thorough with the material but also really reasonable when she grades and you can tell she really cares.

I took Dr. Mazak-Kahne's HIST295 my freshman year. She is a very thorough professor, which means her feedback is useful and good, but that she also doesn't tolerate minimal effort. You need to do the readings, as she mentions them specifically in class. A stickler for knowing your sources and the context around them. Very helpful professor.

Very nice and she's funny. Gives good examples in class and her lectures are easy to follow. Make sure you read your book for discussion days though or she won't go over that material and you'll be screwed for the test. Tests are over d2l and you have usually a week to do them. Answers are all from the book.

Dr. Mazak-Kahne is genuinely one of the most caring teachers Ive had, as she has given us multiple mental health days. She gives plenty of time to turn assignments in, which do not stack up. She really understands and is interested in what she teaches and it shows through her teaching. Make sure to read the book chapters though.

Dr. Mazak made class fun. She blended the class with interesting discussions and lectures. She is great with communication when needed. Sometimes I would get very tired during class and she would still manage to keep me engaged. Overall, she is a caring lady and knows what shes talking about.

Discussion Focused, lots of readings

This class was easy and had interesting lectures. Let's you use your notes and book during the exam and the exam came from the book. You had to do discussion posts and read your classmates post and had to participate in the discussion three times. Gives bonus points for attendance and part of your grade is attendance. Overall good class!

This class is super easy. She lets you use notes and tells you where to find the quizzes from the book. We had to do a discussion post before every class for participation, but we didn't have to reply to any. Her lectures are always engaging but to understand them, you need to read the chapters.

Dr. Jeanine Mazak-Kahne is amazing! This class wasn't bad, final is cumulative just take good notes! I got out of class early almost every day! She does take attendance but it is for credit.

I took this class over the winter and it was extremely easy. There's a big project at the end, but it was easy as well. Very kind teacher too.

Very sweet lady. She posts the textbook so u don't have to buy it. U could probably get by without ever reading a single page of the textbook, but she does like when u participate. Lecture is boring but if u take notes, it's easy to get an A, there's just 3 2-page papers and 4 short essays for her grades (& participation & the final exam).

Dr. Mazak is a very kind lady. All she asks is that you put in effort and you participate. If you think she is mean you either don't get her sense of humor or you're simply a bad student and you know it. Her classes are easy as long as you try.

Dr. Mazak's class was amazing. Her lectures were funny and entertaining. She made sure students understood what was being taught and was heavily engaged with the class. She offered several extra credit opportunities and put the textbook online for free, so there is no need to purchase it.

HIST-196 was one of my easiest classes. There were a few short essays (500-600 words), and she was clearly passionate about the material, which made it enjoyable. As long as you attend and participate, the class is a breeze!

Very easy class and doesn't have tons of work. She doesn't use slides, but her lectures are very interesting. Participation matters, but it isn't very hard to do. Her readings are extremely simple.

She is a very sweet lady and says numerous times that she does not want an individual in her class to fail and offers office hours if help is needed. Her grading rubric is very straight forward for what she would like to see in the papers she asks the students to write.

Dr. Mazak-Kahne is an awesome professor! She makes the class as easy as possible while still providing a lot of great resources and information throughout her lectures and outside of class. She also provides a lot of extra credit opportunities and participation points, and she is a very fair grader. I would recommend her to anyone taking history!

One of my favorite professors IUP. If you get put into a good class that participates a lot, she will let you guys leave early almost every single class. She does take attendance and requires students to participate. The only assignments were the exams and the 2 page length paper you had to write based on a movie.

Dr. Mazak is great. The class lectures have to do with the reading the prior day. Research paper due end of semester. Pretty interesting, light reading material, not a hard class if you participate. She has a way of making an otherwise boring class super fun.

Good professor. Attendance does matter and so does HW. She will allow late assignments up to certain dates. A lot of lectures and a good bit of reading.
