Dr. Nolan is extrememly intelligent, however, teaching Math 125 and skipping crucial steps during the process will lead the avg. student in Math Lab all week. Where the tudors already know that you're from her class. The grading process includes 5 oral exams, hw graded in class ea. Mon., 7 exams & final. If you know Math125 take her if not run away

I do not recommend this teacher, wort teacher in ELAC. When she lectures, she expects you to know it, and when you ask questions she gets upset, and does not answer your questions. She will treat you like a 2nd grader, expecting you to have your color pencils, stapler, dividers etc, and she will take point off if you dont have them. DONT TAKE HER

Dr. Nolan's teaching style was difficult for me to comprehend. I hate math as it is and taking this class made me detest it even further. I would not recommend this instructor to anyone unless they had excellent knowledge at math.

this is the worst teacher ive evr had and i went through the lausd skool system. she is a whole month off schedule according to her syllabus,she doesnt answer questions,she corrects a few problems out of 30 on a hw and only gives u credit if those problems r 100% correct and she uses minitab, program that none of the tutors new. absolute worst teacher i've ever had in my entire life. just hearing her voice and seeing that dull expression on her face will be enough to drive you insane all semester. her "list" of supplies that u must buy is ridiculous and she takes points if you dont have everything on that list. besides her class i am a straight A student.

Dr. Nolan is a horrible instructor. She has a monotone voice and makes math extremely boring. She claims she wants to make math fun, but her personality and her demeanor speak louder than her words. She is unmotivated and does not motivate students and She's the worst instructor I've ever had. She's in all honesty a horrible teacher.

The first time i took this class, i failed n i had to punish myself by taking her same class again the following semester!she is a terrible grader, and gets frustrated and puts you on the spot if you do not understand the math. she makes mistakes on the board and interrupts you when you try to correct her! WARNING: extremely boring and monotone!

WORST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. believes highliters help, but they do not. No study guides. NO help. You have to meet with her for binder checks, which have nothing to do with math. Did not use rate my professor, but this experience with her class made me use this for every class i choose.

Honestly she is terrible at teaching. All she does is have a set of notes she copies on the bored and reads them with her monotone voice and expects us to learn from that. She underestimates our maturity levels and treats us like we are in elementary. Maybe 15% of the class was there by the end of the semester, and more than half, probably failed.

She's not specific about the work we have to do. She takes attendance really late even when the class is finished, she tells us to wait; making us miss our other class and being late to other classes.

Dr. Norlan is Awful, a condescending tone when you are asking for help, intimidating atmosphere when asking for help. Lectures are a motionless powerpoint, while she sits behind her podium reading like a list in a monotone voice. Teaching method according to the Math chair, “It’s Different…” I didn’t learn a thing! WASTE OF TIME! DON’T TAKE HER!!

Nice person but very serious. More than half the class dropped. If you need extra help understanding math 125, she is not for you! Her lecture consists of pre-written notes with very little explanation so you have to be able to understand what she is talking about otherwise you are on your own and will need tutoring.

Does not know how teach what so ever. Gave her the benefit of the doubt and i failed the class. Does not go through the material. If you like to teach yourself this class is perfect for you.

TERRIBLE TEACHER

Threw me out of class because I forget my homework on my desk at home. Offered to re do the whole thing during the in class work period and have it turned in before the end of the period. Luckily it was still during the week period where you can add and drop classes, so I got into another instead. I felt bad for the people left behind. Oh well

The worst math teacher in ELAC!!! She thinks the world consists of high lighters. She checks your binder and other un necessary material. She never wrote on the board, she already has everything written down on her slides. Her homework has nothing to do with her tests! Her tests are supper long and hard. She doesn't even give heads up prior testing

THE WORST INSTRUCTOR EVER! I never thought i would be making a review for an instructor, but she is truly a VERY BAD instructor. Never helps, teaches WAY TOO FAST, always late & to top it off always talking about her personal life. My high-school math teacher helped me more than she did, her lectures are unclear, i dont know how shes an instructor.

Worst Teacher I have ever had. She uses the same notes from 2001, just projects them up on the board and reads everything off to you in a very low, monotone voice. She doesn't explain, just reads it off. Thank god for the math lab & Khan academy, otherwise, I would lose my A average. She seems to mean well but she should not be a teacher.

It's a shame that I have come this far in the semester and feeling like I should have dropped the class sooner or changed my Professor. There are no lectures in this class. The teacher has good intentions for the students but I have not gotten taught anything. If you're ready too copy a bunch of notes with very little or poor explanations take her.

I wouldn't repeat this class because I feel we didn't receive the help we needed. Also this teacher had a unique way of teaching (kinda hard/odd to explain) and it didn't connect with me personally.

Very dry and boring and presents without personality. The method of teaching is not helpful in the slightest as she does things without explanation and expects you to just know already even if the concept is barely being introduced.

If given the opportunity, I would give a rating towards the negatives. Lectures dont line up with homework. Make a 180 if you see this professor teaching a class. If you arent good at math, don't consider this class by a long shot

Takes her time at the beginning of the term and then speeds up towards the end because she doesn't move at a fair pace all the way through. Quite honestly a waste of money to take this class if you don't already know calculus. First math class iv'e worried about passing because of her teaching style. steer clear,listen to her ratings on here chaps.

Shes always serious and give off the vibe that she doesnt want to be there. She told me I was going to pass and that I shouldnt drop that class. Dont take this professor if you struggle with math.

My first math class was with her and I'm a first year college student. She was so difficult and did not help at all. When we would ask for help she would get offended and answer in a sarcastic way. Do not recommend taking her, if your really good at math then you'll pass. I ended up dropping her class.

She starts off super slowly and then speeds up by a great amount as she realizes that she won't get through the material in a timely manner. She also wastes an hour of class by grading homework, when that could be done through an online service.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. If you take this class expect to learn 98% of the material on your own. Her lectures were awful. She just solves problems in front of you and expects you to understand. She does not keep up with grades. Don't take her unless a) you're already really good at math b) you like really difficult teachers

I did not learn anything at all. I had to teach myself everything. She hardly explained while solving the problems. She didnt grade anything until last minute. I do not recommend her at all unless youre up for a challenge.

With one month of the semester left, she has not graded a single homework assignment since March. Again, one month left and she hasn't given us a single exam. A lot of her homework assignments had the wrong questions, ex: chapter 13.1 questions only went up to 58, she assigned up to 78. Setting her students up for failure!

Professor Jeanine is absolutely insane. DONT TAKE HER!! with 2 weeks left of the summer session and she hasn't graded absolutely one homework assignment . She is very irresponsible, just goes over problems from the book for lecture and assigns homework with absolutely no lecture. She expects you to know everything.

Hands down, worst professor I've ever had. Where do I start? All class long her "lectures" are drowned out by the sound of her loud breath and fans blaring into her cheap dollar store headset. The class is officially over, and she hasn't graded a modicum of work. She steps out of the room unannounced for up to 45 minutes every class. DO NOT TAKE

Hands down the most unorganized professor i ever had! She makes excuses for everything. She doesn't grade anything till the end so you don't know where you stand at all. PRETTY STRESSFUL RIGHT! She would give an unreasonable amount of questions (20) on a CALC3 EXAM and say you got an hour and 10min to finish. THE WORST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD! RUN!

It amazes me that someone so unprofessional can teach a calculus 3 course. I truly am at a loss for words. Nolan will not grade your assignments until the end of the course. It's as if she puts no effort at all into trying to grade assignments. Absolutely do not take a course in which she is the instructor.

On the first day I thought his class was tough and going into the third day I noticed the professor just goes through problems from the book without any lecture and with out explaining why and how to get the answers. I dropped this class before I failed and wasted a semester. I highly suggest looking for a different professor!

The professor is not completely there.She means well, but if you want to learn ANYTHING, do not take her. I gave her the benefit of doubt but I should've listen to the previous reviews. Worst Terrible Professor I've taken, 0 Sense, Not Helpful At All, NOT specific or clear, has to use headphones w/mic while teaching as if it's online when it's in person instead of offering help needed she says ok not even Math Tutors know how to help out with Homeworks assigned, make no sense, numbers them without being clear! DON'T TAKE!

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I usually don't rate my professors but omg, I took Stats 227 at the beginning of fall, IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. The first day of class she was using headphones and was speaking EXTREMELY LOW, almost whispering, she also assigned like 50 exercises for homework without explaining anything. Dropped the class as soon as it ended.

DO NOT TAKE HER! Worst professor! I took her over the fall semester in person and the whole time she has you log into zoom and watch her through there and if you had questions you had to type them in the chat which can be difficult to explain. I practically had to teach myself the whole semester. She is also very boring and she has no emotions.

Rushed through the course and slammed us with several tests because she didn't know how to pace her class. She was late almost every day and would step out during the middle of the lecture for about 30 minutes. Luckily, I passed but I pretty much taught myself ALL of the material. Don't take unless you're willing to make your life harder.

3rd day in the class and I already crashed out. Her lectures don't help you out with her hw. Like the other reviews say you pretty much have to teach yourself and she mumbles making it hard to understand her.

When it comes to asking questions on doing homework, she will make you take a zoom call. From there instead of helping you understand the problem, she just does the homework for you going super fast not explaining much. I would not recommend this professor as she comes to class late and seems to not care if one passes of fails. no extra credit.

Kind and flexible with deadlines, but the class was long, slow, and hard to follow. I often struggled, with latenight hw & 8:50 a.m. deadlines leaving no time for tutoring. Explanations were unclear, not everyone understood math terms easily. Full Lec + Exams days, rush, assignments time-consuming, and by mid-October only one thing was graded.

This is the worst professor I have had at ELAC. She has very slow lectures that make it difficult to absorb the material. I had to use youtube lectures to keep up and homework was always due at 8:50am which made it difficult to get a good nights rest and also get help outside of class. Take another professor.

First semester here at ELAC and I had to drop this class. It was a zoom class and the lectures were very slow and they did not help with the homework. LOTS of homework, she was lenient about the deadlines though. Hated using MiniTab software since on my laptop it did not look like hers. She is a nice professor, but the class was unbearable.

If your a new student or think in taking this course, I recommend to look elsewhere. Professor is ALWAYS, ALWAYS late and the way the professor explains the lesson is so confusing, even having notes is pointless in tests. The tests the professor gives are so complicated to where questions involves poking through the internet which is ridiculous.

Our class was in person and she would use zoom as a whiteboard which would be hard to understand what she was doing. She wears a headset and it's very hard to hear her, sounds like if she were mumbling. if you go to her office hours she will not even answer your questions properly and instead make you seem like you are doing everything wrong.
