shes really nice, and all her notes come straight from the book.. class can be boring sometime because all she does is read the notes off of the pwr point to u, but i was able to make really good grades just by reading the chapters --didnt really need to go to class

Mrs. Stiles is a VERY VERY VERY nice lady. She is very Christian and is just the nicest lady out there. But her class is really hard and the mid-term and final exams are very difficult. I studied for 4 days prior to the final and only made a 78 on it. It is an enjoyable class though what with the pig fetus dissection.

She is hard and I had to work for my A but it is not impossible and I took her in a summer course. She gives extra credit up to 10 points on every exam and she will help you any way she can. Do the online work and study and you can make an A...biology is hard period

She is such a wonderful teacher! she really breaks down everything to its simplest form! I love having her! her lectures are boring but she is the sweetest teacher and she is really helpful

Highest grade of my semester. Her lectures weren't exciting, but the textbook helped out a lot. It actually made me more interested in Biology than she did. I don't think I've ever met a Catholic biology teacher before. She is indeed really nice, and she offers a ton of extra credit though. For future students: study the book!

I LOVE Dr. Stiles! She gives lots of extra credit work that is time consuming but worth it. The class follows the book closely so get the book! She is so sweet and very nice. Her tests are moderately hard but not horrible, your going to have to study for this class, but its bio what else would you expect. I recommend taking her class, I love it!

She is an amazing teacher! She knows what she is talking about. However, you must follow along closely with her in the book. I found just highlighting and writing small notes in my is word for word on the tests! This class eats a lot of time with studying an lab though I recommend it!

Took lecture part online. I am 15/hate biology. HOWEVER, she did an excellent job with this hard subject. She made it as easy as possible, is straight forward, and if you study you will make an A(like me). A lot of people don't like her just because it is a hard class (isn't her fault) and they don't study. Reading lab manual is required for an A.

Dr. Stiles is amazing! Very nice, she does teach based on the book but if you have any questions she is more than welcome to go over whatever oh want. I don't see why it matters that she's I loved my lab class we had tons of fun. Other than that she's a very good professor & I would highly recommend her if you want to pass!

Have her for lab and signed up for her online class next semester. Great teacher, sweet as can be, honestly cannot see where all of the negative comments are coming from. Take her class. I haven't taken a science class in a million years, definitely the teacher for adults instead of teenagers fresh out of high school, maybe that's the issue?

I really enjoyed this lab. She gave a ten question quiz at the beginning of each lab. We were given study sheets on what to study for exams. She is very by the book, so if you study the text and go to class you should be fine.

I really loved this course, along with this professor. It was fast paced, easy to keep up with, and at the same time challenging. I would take it again, ten fold. the professor is helpful and easy to work with.

Dr. Stiles was amazing. I have no idea how there are bad reviews on here. She was so pleasant to work with. She went over the materials very thoroughly and clearly. She was always ready for our lab and so kind in her explanations and responses. She gave helpful hints and went into detail. I just love her! So, inspiring.

I took Stiles for A&P 2 lab. she was incredible. The best lab instructor I've ever had. She went through details of everything that you could possible need for the practicals. She is a fair grader. Extremely nice, and made A&P 2 (an extremely hard class) seem easy.

This professor was great and her lectures helped the majority of students in my class get A's on the Lab tests.

Professor Stiles is super sweet and caring, she is very passionate about teaching. If I were to retake this class during a normal semester it would probably be easier. 6 week summer session is not advised as it is too much material to learn in a short time.

This was a great class! I wasn't hopeful when I started the semester because I'm not a fan of biology, but to my surprise 1409 is way better than 1408. Reading the textbook is required for quizzes and tests, the power points help a lot! Overall, this professor is a biology dream come true! I have learned more than I thought I would/

Dr. Stiles is a wonderful professor because she makes herself available for questions in and after class. Although the course was accelerated due to summer session, she was able to make it interesting and enjoyable while keeping the pace of the course.

Professor Stiles is absolutely amazing! She has this aura about herself that literally made me say to myself, "Wow! I want to be like her!" Dr. Stiles was a terrific professor that provides clear instruction and grading criteria in the syllabus. The labs were enjoyable which made retaining the information easier. She made sure all students were aware of the departments expectations regarding missing quizzes and makeup grades. One of the best professors I've had.

The most understanding professor I have ever taken. Being in college, working and having to take care of a family, she is super supportive and pushes you to work hard in the most positive way. She is very clear with her lectures and really learn exactly what you need to be successful in the class.

Dr stiles is a great instructor. She's very passionate about science and it shows. She gives multiple chances for extra credit. Quizzes were heavy in his class - three per week. lecture quiz (online) every Tuesday and Thursday, and a quiz at the beginning of every lab (covers previous lab). There were also 6 discussion boards & 2 field assignment

Professor Stiles is an amazingly kind and exceptionally helpful instructor. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and help prepare us for exams and our future careers.

Professor Stiles is a sweet lady. Her lectures can be difficult & confusing to understand, so just know that you will be basically teaching yourself. So listen, take notes & record. Make sure to stay ahead & have your "student study guide" filled out correctly. That is your bible. Once you get behind its hard to catch back up. Very time consuming.

This was a class I was worried to take due to it being a 5 week Biology class, but Ms. Stiles made it as fun and worry free as possible. She was such a caring and great teacher. She wanted you to pass and gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. I would recommend taking a class with her for sure.

She is such a sweetheart. This was for Bio summer course at TCC. There is absolutely no way you should not make an A in this class. She gives you all the material you need up front: the entire course lecture slides, a clear and efficient grading scale ( only 50% tests), links to a free online textbook, and mass extra credit. Caring and awesome!

I absolutely love her best Bio 2401 professor. Oviosly you have to reed your book if you want to pass. But definitely take her she is amazing!

Dr. Stiles is a great professor. This isn't an easy class, and if you take it once a week be ready for some self study. There just isn't enough time to cover everything in class. She gives detailed outlines and reviewed the material before every lecture exam. She answered questions clearly and did a great job explaining the material.

Enjoyed Dr. Stiles, she was very open to others about their ideas and prospective. If she didnt honestly know the answer to the question she would be upfront about it and would research the matter. Great lecturer and was always willing to give extra-credit.

Dr. Stiles is a kind and caring professor. She will do all she can to help achieve desired grade. She consistently gives extra credit and points students in the direction of what to study, without flat out giving you the answer. Anatomy is a difficult subject, but she makes it as easy as she possibly can. I would take her for any class she teaches.

I like JeanMarie Stiles she is very nice and willing to help you succeed in this class. It is alot of work, i have never seen so much work in one class in my time at Tarrant County College. I would never take this class again not because of her just because it is alot of work for one class. need open book tests.

She was an amazing professor. If you have any questions in prepping for the test you could email her for feedback and would get an answer within the hour. She gives a 100% on homework if you simply make a 70% on each assignment and get it completed on time. (Usually 9 chapters due at once every month). I would definitely recommend her!!! 5 stars

I took a mini-mester hybrid online and lecture class which was hard! I struggle in the Sciences so I was very scared to take this class. Mrs. Stiles is understanding and fair. She wants her students to succeed and does what she can to help the students get through all of the labs and assignments. I learned a lot more than I thought I would too.

LOVE Ms. Stiles. Biology is a tough course in general, but she tries to make it as easy as possible. She caring and compassionate, extremely understanding that most of us are working adults. Grades liberally, and truly wants you to pass while learning. Answers emails quickly. If a problem arose, she works with you to continue to be successful.

Although she rambles a lot in class and youll pretty much learn everything on your own. She makes it so easy for you to pass. There is so much extra credit and shes not a tough grader at all. But there is a lot of work and the tests are by an outside company that even she answers incorrectly sometimes hence the reason for extra credit.

She is awesome. Listens and want you to succeed. Encourages finding the answer for yourself which I personally learned better from. 2 tests - proctorio. I learned majority of class from her lab than from the lecture part. no quizzes. some DBs.

She is a great professor. I feel like she hasnt taught this class for very long because there was some of the assignments and things that she wasnt clear on. But, she provided a lot of extra credit opportunities and extended due dates if we were struggling to get some of the assignments done on time.

Jean Marie Stiles is an excellent BIO professor. She encouraged me when I need the extra push to continue. She was awesome and understanding. She also answered all my e-mails and gave me guidance when I had internet problems. I was nervous, do to the fact that, I had never taken an online class. God put her as my teacher to help me out when needed.

Very sweet lady and extremely understanding! She will explain anything youre having a hard time understanding. She gives extra credit opportunities for almost every test. The lab was extremely interesting and the lecture was fun! (I took the summer class two years in a row). I will genuinely miss having her as a teacher

I took Dr. Stiles at Paris Junior College for both A&P 2 and microbiology in Fall 2019. Shes really sweet and definitely wants everyone to do well in the class. Read your chapters and study what you read and you will make good grades. She also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities so theres really no reason not to do well in her classes.

Biology 1408 as a summer course is not easy in itself. However, Professor Stiles did everything she could to help her students succeed through the class. She gives great lectures, clarifies when needed, generous extra credit, and works with you if you have special circumstances. If you're torn between choosing a professor--take her!

If you do your reading assignments you are able to pass all the homework and exams. Labs are fun, some easier than others.

Dr. Stiles seems to enjoy the subject matter and clearly lines out her expectations for the course. She is aware of the difficulty of the course content and gives multiple opportunities for success. Grades fairly and consistently, responsive to questions and emails, encourages class discussion. Highly recommended and respected.
