Sister Burgon is the greatest teacher ever! She has interesting insights and doesn't make the class too hard, and it is enjoyable!! Definitely sign up for her class!!
Easy class. Spiritual too. Take home and open book tests. Good GPA booster.
great teacher, definitely take her class, very easy and interesting.
Amazing class. You will learn a lot about the scriptures and with a little work get an A. Take it...
Amazing teacher, I would take a class from her again.
Great teacher! Do the work and reap the rewards! Take her classes and you will love her.
beware. study hard and mayclose attention to everything that is said in class. Don't be fooled by the niceness of personality. this is a HARD class.
Great teacher. Really knows her stuff, and backs it up with good quotes from the Brethren. Take her class if you want to increase your spiritual knowledge a bit!
She is a great teacher. You do have to pay attention and go to class, but if you put the effort in then you will learn so much and will have a increased knowledge and love for the Gosple
I've never learned so much in a religion class as I did with Sis. Burgon. Taking her class will be one of the best decisions you make here at BYU
This is an amazing class where all tests are take home open note and open scripture. Our text book is the scriptures nothing else. She cares so much for her students. Just go to class to learn and get good notes to help on tests. Other than that class is a sinch.
This was the easiest class ever. It seemed like seminary. No quizes, few and easy tests, and very nice.
Sis. Burgon is soo amazing! She only teaches doctrine from the scriptures or things that the brethren have said - never gives her own opinion as "doctrine". Brings an amazing spirit into the class; tests are take home, and if you keep up w/reading (B.ofM. is the only text!) you're sure to do fine! Wish all my religion tchrs were like her!
I really liked her--she was very interesting, but the class was still pretty easy. There were only three mini-papers, two take home test, and then a reading log. The test were hard, but you have a week to do them and they're open book and open note, so it's not too bad.
Awesome prof. 3 take home tests, all multiple choice. Final is worth almost nothing, you basically just practice sharing the gospel. You have to compile scriptures and quotes on one gospel topic. Easy, cant even be called a paper because you only write a paragraph about what you learned. Attendence and reading scrips are worth points.
If you want an easy A class where you learn nothing than this is the class for you.
Awesome religion professor, only teaches doctrine and doesn't give any busy work, or expect you to known all of the UNIMPORTANT stuff.
I absolutly loved Sis. Burgon. She always brought a wonderful spirit to class. Her love for the gosple was obvious and it helped all of her students feel a similar love for the church. I learned so much from her class. It isn't a hard class because she wants us to focus on the gosple not the grade. She is amazing. Take her class, it's wonderful!
Extremely kind teacher; very good at bringing the Spirit into class discussions. She focuses on principles rather than random trivia from the Book of Mormon. Her take-home tests are pretty tricky, though!
I absolutely love Sster Burgon, and her clas is awesome. She really focuses on applying the scriptures and how they can help your life. If you take good notes and study a little, her take-home exams aren't that hard. They are open scripture. Her final is awesome. I would absolutely reccomend Sister Burgon.
Great professor. Very, very kind and willing to help students individually.
I loved this class. I left with a spiritual high, and she asked us to use our knowledge of the scriptures the same way she would for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend taking this class from her.
Sis Burgon is amazing. Her class is about learning to use the scriptures and how to apply principles to our lives. She's not picky about random trivia. The spirit is so strong when she teaches. Her take-home tests are nice, but can be tricky, so make sure you've done the reading and taken notes from her lectures. The final is wonderful! :)
She is a great teacher! If you take her class, do your reading and attend lecture, you will learn so much! She really cares about her students!
I really like her class!!! I enjoyed even the exams and class is so spiritual. Through her class, I came to love the book of mormon. Autually, it is the first time to read the book of mormon joyfully like this.
Usually teachers that are easy don't really teach you much. She really does though. One of my favorite professors ever. Taking another class from her I liked it so much. Minimal effort got me an A-. But I only recommend it cause I learned a lot from her.
Sis. Burgon is an awesome teacher. She teaches by the spirit, gets the facts straight, and is always available if you need help or have questions. If you want a teacher that focuses on the spirit rather than boring facts and dates, take her. Reading assignments, 2 take home tests, and one very simple paper make this class easy, but still great.
Sister Burgon's amazing! Great teacher, teaches from spirit, feel spirit every class. Part time teacher so not on campus all day but gives email address & home phone & is very reachable, wants to help however she can. 2 take home exams & final (really easy) 1 assignment- pick topic to research, dont write a talk, just compile scriptures & quotes.
Awesome teacher--She's the most compassionate woman I've ever met. I felt the Spirit every single class. I wish I could take more classes from her. She honestly cares about her students, and she wants to help them. You want this professor!
Sister Burgon is an angel!! she teaches with the Spirit. Take home tests. I loved her class, she the best religion teacher, I've had so far.
Sister Burgon is an amazing teacher! She seems to know the Book of Mormon inside and out! I would recommend taking any class from her that you can. I learned a ton but the class didn't require a huge amount of work. Sister Burgon is always willing to work with students one-on-one and gives awesome feedback on the one paper there is.
I took 121 and 122 from Sister Burgon and absolutely loved it! She does a splendid job and you can tell that she puts a massive amount of time into crafting her wonderful lessons! I really feel like my knowledge of the Book of Mormon has increased exponentially.
Easy class. The take-home exams are somewhat difficult and make you search the scriptures. I didn't have motivation to pay attention in her class though. Good class if you want an easy grade.
She is really spiritual and I especially liked the feedback she gave on my GQA. Easy A, but not the greatest class. Main problem: little bit of a yawner. Seriously, the lectures are pretty boring. Tests aren't too bad though.
Prof. Burgon is super nice. She teaches religion according to those who declare LDS doctrine, not according to her personal opinion. I'm not big into religion, but she sure is! She's non-intrusive but those who are into religion will like her passion and spiritual teaching style. Those who aren't will like her class because it is really easy.
Sister Burgon is amazing! I took her for 122 and then 121 RM class. She was so kind and really does care about all the students. Her tests were pretty easy because they are take home and you can use the BOM. Then her paper is easy if you follow what she wants. I loved these classes and I would recommend to take her because she is amazing!
sister burgon is an awesome teacher who really cares for her students, she is super understanding if you have a concern, you can tell she puts so much time into her powerpoints, test are easy, one assignment which is easy, take this class, spiritual and you learn !
She is the nicest, most spiritual little woman! She has a way of making the NT very real! I have learned so much from her and I constantly finding myself applying things I have learned from her class to my personal scripture study. Take home tests that ask questions about things not covered in class but still fairly easy! Favorite REL class so far!
She is so kind and spiritual. She is very patient and understanding. I really loved her course, because she is doctrinally sound, but not intense and brutal like a lot of courses you find here. Tests are take home, but study for them anyway. And attendance isn't mandatory, but she gives you points for going. I loved this class.
Professor Burgon is a very nice person but her tests don't reflect what the student has learned in class. Tests are multiple choice, open scriptures, closed notes taken in the testing center. (I guess she has changed her test policy since people are saying they used to be take home tests.) Don't recommend her.
Hurts me to write anything bad about her because she is very nice, but i thought her teaching was dull and missed the point of the stories. She liked to talk more about side "facts" than actual doctrine and the Atonement. Didn't really encourage participation- rushed through others' comments and didn't like to get off topic for anything.
I absolutely loved this class! I learned SO much and enjoyed all of her lectures. She is so smart and kind. Her lectures are interesting and her open scripture exams are pretty easy if you just attend class. This class is an easy A and you'll love it!
Class consists of lectures and a little bit of class discussion, usually based on students' questions. Three tests, one self-driven gospel question assignment, and a mild final exam are the only real assignments. Reading the BoM chapters before class will really help your grade.
Sister Burgon is great. The tests are open book, the final is take home. She writes great feedback on the Gospel Assignment. She is always well prepared, and you can tell she dedicates herself to her students and helping them.
Sis. Burgon is a very nice, good teacher. She was always willing to help and answer questions. We also had treats every class period, which made the 2 hour class a lot more bearable. The assignments are easy, but the tests are very tricky, even though they are open book. You have to remember a lot of information from class.
She no longer gives take-home exams; the exams are relatively difficult and one must remember every word said in class in order to correctly answer 20% of the questions. The other 80% are from the scriptures - open scriptures.
She is the most caring person ever. She really wants to help her students.
She is the most caring person ever. She really wants to help her students take her!
Sister Burgon is a spiritual giant. She keeps to the scriptures and words of the living prophets, so no space doctrine here. Exams are easy if you pay attention in class.
Sister Burgon is by far the best teacher I have had at BYU. If you have any questions or concerns with grades or anything she is ALWAYS available by e-mail and love to help all of her students. If there is one woman in this world who makes Satan tremble when she speaks, I am sure that it is Sister Burgon. I highly recommend her.
Sister Burgon is the best religion teacher I've had. Her class is very interesting and she teaches what the prophets and apostles teach. Very helpful and easy to get a good grade. Definitely recommend.
Sister Burgon is the sweetest, most genuine person. She loves the Gospel and her class encourages students to as well. It's pretty easy and the discussions are interesting. I would totally recommend her!
I always love going to her class. She is an expert at inviting the spirit. Take good notes of class discussions. She is willing to answer any question about the gospel. I've studied the Book of Mormon all of my life, but I always learned something new in every class. Highest recommendation.
Sister Burgon is so very knowledgeable and wants to share everything she knows with her class. She is extremely caring and genuinely wants each of her students to do well. One of my favorite classes. Not an easy A, but not a ton of work and very very enjoyable.
One of my favorite professors. She knows so much about the NT but doesn't test you on trivial facts. Just go to class every day and you'll have 90% of the test material. The other 10% can easily be looked up (open scripture tests). I felt like every class was valuable. Her tangents are always relevant or at least related and interesting.
EXCELLENT PROFSSOR!! SO nice and caring! Tests are open book so you can look 95% of the stuff up, so pretty easy. should come to class, but class can be a little dry but you will learn.
really good teacher. Strong testimony. Very willingly to help out with your grade. Test are some what difficult. She pulls the "all theses answers are right but which one is the best" type of questions. Go to class and take notes in your BOM and you will be fine.
Great professor!! Easiest religion professor I've had so far and I've heard a lot of great things about some of the religion professors too, so you can only imagine how great she is!! Extremely sweet spirit! Teaches by the Holy Ghost, and is the best teacher I've had!
Sister Burgon is the best religion teacher I have had yet. Her class is designed around learning how to find answers to questions on your own. She only taught correct doctrine, and told us when she didn't know something for sure. Her class was extremely enlightening, and, everyday, it was hard to leave at the end of the hour.
Sister Burgon was an exceptional teacher. She was very knowledgeable in the subject matter and took lots of time preparing for class. She was able to answer questions well, and when she didn't know the answer she would look it up and get back to the student who wanted to know. She was a very fair graded and genuinely cared about her students.
Fantastic religion teacher. She cares so much about her students and their growth. She's so sincere and invites the spirit every day. The class was also INCREDIBLY easy, which let you focus a lot more on the scriptures and the doctrine. One paper, 20-min reading a day, open scripture tests, final was CAKE. I definitely recommend her. :)
Sister Burgon is the sweetest, most spiritual woman I have encountered at this school. Each class, I came away with a greater understanding of the spirit. Not a good class to take if you think you will miss any lectures, and the tests take some time (you will be looking up a lot of scriptures). Take her class if you can.
Professor Burgon is Fantastic!!! She invites the spirit, allows for questions, and is extremely knowledgeable. There are three tests and a final. The tests are open scripture, so you can look everything up. Final is no-stress at all. Best professor for New Testament!
The BEST religion teacher in at BYU! Take notes=easy test. TAKE NOTES! But its super easy! And she is the kindest teacher. She teaches only doctrine of the church! She has great stories. She is wonderful and the spirit is strong in her room (and she is easy!) TAKE THIS CLASS FROM HER!!
She is such a nice teacher. She really cares about her students. All religion classes are hard but the daily work with sis. Burgon is about as easy as it gets.
Sister Burgon is great! I learned a lot from her class and she is so nice. The tests are hard but I think that is the case with any BYU religion class. The final was easy though so that was good. I highly recommend taking your religion classes with her.
She teaches doctrine, and seems to know everything any authority ever said about everything. I've never learned so much in a BYU religion class. She saves time for Q&A and answers a lot of common myths. Great class; very focused on learning rather than the busy work that many other religion classes have.
The BEST! Great class and she is such a sweet person. She really cares about her students.Teaches doctrine and backs everything up with doctrine. Tests could be a little hard but it's doable if you put in a little time. I will take more classes from her-she's just wonderful.
Super awesome teacher. She really cares about the class and the doctrine she teaches. Listens to students, stays on topic, and very helpful. Does her best to keep class interesting. Super easy tests. Just show up in class and review her powerpoints she posts online before taking the tests.
Sister Burgon is an incredibly spiritual woman, and she teaches very lucidly. However, you need a 95% to get an A, and the tests can be tricky in the sense that they heavily depend on how well you can find things in the scriptures. Still, I would recommend taking the class from her.
Sister Burgon is THE BEST, you guys. I'm a senior and I've had the worst experiences with religion classes on this campus. This was the first religion class that I actually enjoyed. She's super spiritual and knowledgable and she CARES about her students. Keep up with the reading and study her powerpoints before the test. Best religion professor!
Professor Burgon is the best. Religion is doable, edifying, and mind-blowing with her as your professor. Professor Burgon is, easily, the best religion professor I have had at BYU.
Nicest professor ever. Attendance is worth points so make sure to go to class. Tests aren't hard and lectures are interesting and easy to pay attention to. One easy paper that's worth 50 points but other than that, no homework except scripture reading.
Sister Burgon blew me away. I love her and her class, and now I love the PoGP more. She teaches with testimony. She cares about her students and helping their testimonies to grow. She took the time to give me personal feedback on an essay. Her feedback meant so much to me. It caused the spirit to rush into my heart and it increased my testimony.
Wow! She really knows her stuff! Extremely humble and sweet lady, and work is not hard at all. Tests are open book. This is exactly what a religion class should be! Love her!!
she is a great teacher. Her exams are a bit too hard, but you will like the class.
Sister Burgon requires attendance and reading the scriptures. Sister Burgon also answers questions regarding the scriptures before each class to reduce confusion and to enhance learning. Several commented on the difficulty of the tests, but if students transfer notes into their scriptures the tests are very doable. I recommend Sister Burgon.
There are many fantastic religion teachers at BYU, but Sis. Burgon is one of the best (that I have taken), hands down. She obviously loves her students, teaches with the Spirit and only teaches true doctrine, not speculation, provides tons of really interesting insights and facts, and the class is not too hard-just right. Long tests but open book.
She is incredibly helpful and if you seek help, she will always be there for you. The tests were hard but she works with you to do the best you can on them
Sister Burgon is the best religion professor I've ever had. I signed up for this class hoping to be part of a religion course that would strengthen my testimony, but not a heavy course load, and Sister Burgon does this perfectly. Just love her lectures, study a little for tests, and enjoy the class. Definitely will take another class from her.
If you're reading this, you're making a good decision-- PLEASE take a religion class from Sister Burgon. She's the best religion teacher I've EVER had, and she really does care about her students. Tests are hard if you just copy down the lecture notes into the margins since it's open scriptures. Going to class was my favorite part of the week. Amen
Sister Burgon is a wonderful teacher and you will not ever regret taking a class from her. She has super interesting lectures, and legitimately cares about her students. Open scripture tests that aren't a big deal if you write notes in the margins like she allows. Wonderful person, definitely take a class from her if you have the opportunity.
Sister Burgon's class is life changing. Everything that a religion class should be- her goal is not to make you work like crazy for an A as some other religion professors do- she truly cares about her students and will always provide help to anyone who is struggling. Tests are somewhat difficult, but they are open scripture.
Sis. Burgon was very nice and the class was informative, She is very informed on the Pearl of Great price and is able to give lots of perspective, yet is very clear when it is opinions or doctrine. like many religion teachers she is very trusting and shows mercy.
TAKE SISTER BURGON. Bar none the best religion teacher I've had in my 4 years at BYU. Her class is so inspirational, she really knows her stuff, and the tests are structured in a way that if you look at the powerpoints and know how to use the scriptures you'll ace them. Pretty easy but also very enriching class, I would 100% take her again!
I have taken two classes from Sister Burgon and I would say that shes by far and above the best religion teacher I have had at BYU. She is so sweet and her tests are structured in such a way where if you go to the lectures and look at her slides you will easily ace all the tests. I've never gotten below a 94 on any of them and I've taken 8 now!
Sister Burgon is the sweetest professor I have ever had at BYU. She cares way more about your relationship with Christ and your testimony than the academic part. She does everything she can to help you understand the material and to strengthen your testimony. Her tests are open scripture and come mostly from lecture and her slides. She is awesome!!
Sister Burgon is a professor who really cares about her students, more than maybe any professor I've had. She sets very clear expectations, and the way to succeed in her class is very straightforward. But she is much more concerned with our long-term success and happiness than with our grade in the class, though she is willing to help with both.
The religion professors at BYU are all typically really great, but I would rank Sister Burgon somewhere in the top. She is enthusiastic about the topics, very knowledgeable, and lenient grader. The tests weren't hard, as long as you know the material of course. Read the chapters, review the powerpoints posted online, prepare to laugh in class :D
I hated this class. Her tests were so hard- no matter what I did I couldn't do well. Yes, they were open book- but all that means is that nothing is off limits. It is one of my lowest marks and I feel like I learned nothing but HER personal testimony of the book of mormon. Plus my paper for her was 12 pgs long- WAY too much for a ge.
The spirit in her classroom is so unique. She cares deeply about the material, making it a personal spiritual experience, & the students. I got a 3 page response to an assignment w/ her personal commentary/ insight on a topic I had been studying #tears. She makes sure you succeed. Class gives you the tools for lifelong testimony building.
Easiest religion professor at BYU. I never took notes in class, usually played games on my phone and got an A in the class. The "paper" is just a compilation of scriptures and quotes relating to a gospel question. That's literally it. It can be long, but sooo easy. Take notes in BoM from slides before the test. She has an amazing testimony!
I felt the spirit and learned something new everyday! Her knowledge about the BOM and gospel is exceptional! She is kind, caring, and she realizes students have a lot going on with life and tries to make this class work with that! Use the slides which she posts, keep up with the reading chart of the Book of Mormon, attend class and it's an easy A.
You can tell she cares a lot about what she is teaching and the tests are open book with marginal notes which is nice. That being said, the biggest downside to her class is that the tests are kind of vague and time consuming.
I love Sister Burgon so much! In my opinion her classes are what Religion should be: she focuses on the spirit and not so much on the Book of Mormon as a historical text. Still, I learned a ton. Homework was pretty light, just reading a chapter or two a night. That being said, the tests are not easy. Like anything, you have to study.
LOVE Sister Burgon. She offers every class for you to call or text her with questions you may have. She genuinely loves each student and the gospel. However, her tests are much more difficult than they should have been. Still a solid choice for NT.
Sister Burgon is a great teacher and a great person. Her assignments were meant to help enhance your scripture study and they actually help. You are allowed to use your scriptures for her tests, and she encourages that you write notes in the margins. Incredible, spiritual lectures. She is passionate and teaches well. She is also funny
Sis. Burgon is so sweet. She does all she can to help you. She does, however, give somewhat dry lectures and always gets behind. The class isn't too hard, but the exams can be tricky. An A is 95%. If you take good notes and go to class then it's an easy A.
I would definitely not classify this class as an easy A. The tests were HARD. That being said, Sister Burgon is merciful and she loves teaching. She is very approachable and is always overjoyed to discuss a doctrinal principle with you. Fantastic person.
Sis. Burgon is the nicest and most caring person. Her class is interesting. Her tests can be hard but it has been my favorite religion class at BYU. She is willing to discuss anything with students and is very approachable.
Sister Burgon is absolutely amazing! Her lectures are so inspirational and uplifting. She knows so much about the scriptures and doctrines and helps you to understand them very well. The assignments aren't too bad, just make sure you do them. Open scripture LS exams. I hope to take more of her classes in the future! Highly recommend her!
Sister Burgon is such a caring and Christlike individual. She is very reasonable and truly cares about her students. That said the whole class is based on her lectures with limited class involvement. Certainly was difficult to pay attention at times. The tests or open scriptures and online but they are the hardest and longest religion tests ever.
Your typical BYU religion class. Tests are a little detail oriented, but not hard. She lets you take notes in your scriptures and use those. Honestly this class was a little boring, For the last 2/3 of the semester I paid no attention during lectures. She is a really sweet woman.
Wow. I am so grateful I took this class. She has helped me understand how to research my scriptures and really study them. Sister Burton is funny and she really brings the spirit in her classroom. If you are looking for someone who knows their stuff, TAKE THIS CLASS!
My favorite Religion class!!! This class made endowment experiences at the temple way more mind-blowing! Study the power points for the three midterms! She constantly testified of all principles and doctrines, which made the class way more spiritual! Don't stress about the final, it is manageable and different from the other tests! I Love the PGP!
I loved this teacher and her class, but the Exams were extremely difficult. I learned too late that you've got to take notes on what she says in class as well as what's written in the powerpoints to do well. Extremely knowledgable and caring woman. I'd love to take another class from her.
Sister Burgon is SO knowledgeable about the gospel and I enjoyed her class, however I did feel like it was very difficult to get an A. Tests were challenging and because the class was graded with so few assignments, it made it difficult to reach the 95 required for an A. Overall, I still enjoyed the class, but I don't think it was a very easy GE.
Sister Burgon is probably the best religion professor on the BYU campus. Her lectures are inspirational and she focuses on helping us understand how to find answers to personal questions in the scriptures instead of just memorizing facts. She posts her powerpoints online and her tests are open-scripture, so if you showed up to class, it's easy!
Sister Burgon was a great religion teacher. She really cares about her students and focuses on learning the gospel and feeling the Spirit rather than just worrying about grades. The assignments she does give are meaningful. I always left feeling uplifted.
The sweetest lady I have ever met. She is way more focused on spiritual messages, yet adds gems to enhance spiritual understanding. She clearly has a strong testimony of the Gospel, and is merciful to her students if they need extra time. Required 30 min. a day scripture reading. The final is EASY. Find two scripts. per question with NO essay resp.
Burgon was a great teacher, and an AMAZING lady, but she was not very interesting in her lectures. I found it veryyyy difficult to stay engaged and stay alert. She tests on things she says in class which is why you have to go to pass. The tests were VERY DIFFICULT. I took amazing notes but still averaged a B on my tests.
Sister Burgon has one big assignment aside from tests and personal scripture study, and it's a scripture study assignment, not a paper, but you assemble sources about something you care about. The class is great, she really cares, answers questions, and doesn't preach false doctrine or push any opinion. She teaches fact or says she doesn't know.
I LOVE HER! 3 Tests on LS during the semester. Not a single paper or reading quiz. She cares about her students a lot and loves when you ask gospel questions. Sweetest professor I have ever had. Super easy, just go to class to get your attendance points and pay attention to her slides. Great class, lots of learning, easy A. Cant go wrong here.
Sister Burgon is really sweet and cares a lot about her students. She makes a great effort for the class to not be an added stress to your class load so there aren't many assignments. Her exams were a bit confusing and I never really figured out how to be successful in them but the class overall was easy.
Sister Burgon is great, caring, accessible, and gave me more feedback on my paper than I've ever seen before from any professor before. She always gives the chance before class to ask any questions you have, and always tries to support everything she teaches with church authority.
Sis. Burgon is very loving and very passionate about the Gospel and the PGP. She sometimes rushes through her slides to say everything, but that is because she tries to give enough time for questions at the beginning of class. She is willing to say I don't know and respects comments from others. She wants everyone to succeed. She is a lovely lady.
Sis. Burgon is so great! She believes the purpose of religion classes should be helping us learn to find answers in the scriptures, so her tests are open scripture and papers are really clear cut. The final is just copying and pasting scriptures. It's a great class to just focus on learning instead of grades
She is one of my favorite professors at BYU! If you do bad on a test, email her and she'll do all she can to help. She is super accessible outside of class. Her lessons were very inspiring and I learned so much about the New Testament! She lets you use scriptures and notes you write directly in your scriptures to the tests, so that helps!
She really really cares about her students and does a great job of making the course as interactive as possible. She cares more about actual learning than she cares about grades, and puts a great emphasis on building the testimonies of her students. Always accessible and helpful. Tests are relatively straightforward.
Sister Burgon is my favorite professor at BYU. I have never seen a professor so caring, sweet, and kind. She literally gave me 3-4 pages of feedback off of a paper I wrote! She is extremely dedicated and is a spiritual giant. I have taken her twice now, and I will be back for more. She inspired me to learn as much about the gospel as possible.
Sister Burgon is an amazing professor. Very little homework. Only reading scriptures every day, a few smaller assignments and a few exams. She cares so deeply about each individual in her class. She wrote a long page of feedback personal to me on my assignment! She also wants to answer your questions and will go beyond measures to help you!
Sister Burgon is very nice. She is understanding, and while this wasnt the most interesting class Ive ever taken, it was not bad. I definitely recommend if you still have some religion credits you need to knock out. No essays, just one project due about halfway through the semester and that was it other than exams. There are the weekly assignments.
If professor Burgon can't get 5 stars, I don't know who else can. She is the best professor ever.
She's solid. I didn't particularly love her as an instructor, class felt a bit slow/boring at times, but she is super caring to all of her students. Class is graded pretty much excusively on attendance, daily scripture study, and 3 midterns throughout the class. Midterms are pretty straightforward, just go over the study guides.
Sister Burgon is a nice lady, but I did not like her class. Her lectures are boring and I found it hard to pay attention, but most of the information on the exams come from class. The exams are difficult with very specific answer, and each are worth 20 percent of the overall grade. This class was unnecessarily difficult for a religion credit.
Sister Burgon is a very nice lady, however, she does not know how to administer a religion class. Attendance is graded because many of the questions on her tests come straight from inferences about scriptures that she mentions in passing during her uninterrupted stream of gospel trivia. If you plan on taking this class, better take detailed notes
Sister Burgon is very caring but her tests are VERY difficult. If you aren't an expert on the new testament plan on taking very extensive notes in her class. If you want a class where you can just listen and not take notes, this is not the teacher to take from. Also, you have to get a 95 to get an A in her class. So take that as you will.
Sister Burgon is super nice, but her class is difficult. Her lectures are pretty boring, and it was hard to pay attention in class, but the majority of the questions on the exams came from very specific things she said in the lectures. If you don't take very detailed notes on all of her lectures, it will be pretty hard to do well in the class.
Sister Burgon was very kind, but at times she tried too hard not to step on anyone's toes. You have to get a 95% to get an A, and the tests are weighted pretty heavily, so you basically have to ace every test. She was willing to work with me, though. Just too much work for a religion class, I think.
Professor Burgon is amazing. I would rate her a 6 if I could. She truly is a wonderful person. She goes above and beyond to help her students and to make sure they understand the content. She is a wealth of knowledge, I learned so much in her class. Im really grateful for professors like Sister Burgon. Please take her class if you can.
Sister Burgon gives beautiful lectures and does everything she can so that each student can be successful. She is possibly the kindest professor I've had.
She is very sweet and caring, but the lectures are JAM PACKED! We covered so much material you really get lost in the sauce. By the end of the lecture it is often difficult to remember hardly any of the material. A lot of the exams were questions that were very difficult to answer because it was all based on her knowledge and opinions.
AMAZING! Clear teaching and a spirit-filled environment. Any question is answered with love and no judgment during class or after. There's a study guide given that looks VERY similar to the exam. She allows you to use your scriptures to take the online exams and encourages us to write and use notes in our scriptures. Easy A, focus on testimony vibe
