funny older lady tests are somewhat difficult but she makes class interesting
Very nonthreatening.. Non intimidating... Will work with you!!!
slow moving, boring, vague, not hard teacher
Tests are very easy, but boring class. Little homework though
interesting class. she makes you figure it out yourself, but helps & is nice!
Easy class if you study for test for 10 min.
I LOVE JEANNIE!!!! sometimes very confusing, doesnt really teach, soo cute tho
Hyper, fun lady. NO BOOK. 103 is like philosophy of math. Easy, but unclear.
Silly teacher, but nice. Elementary methods of teaching, small plastic boxes
very boring, grades unfairly, will give B's to those who deserve A's
easy class. easy to skip. befriend her.

She is psycho! I hated this class! I didn't understand anything she went over, and she wasn't able to help me! I passed the class, no thanks to Jeannie though!
Jeannie...ahem...Wilma is a nut-case. I hate math, so I hated this course and didn't understand a lot of it. But, if you're decent at math you should do fine. Not sure what one is supposed to get out of it, but she was pretty funny. I laughed a lot...
She's sooo sweet in that ol granny way and pretty funny, but she is kind of boring in lessons and not too helpful. Plus the tests are REALLY hard and she is nitpicky in grading.
Extremely boring, tests are long and a lot of work, she doesn't explain anything. You have to be able to teach yourself.
very vague, quizzes and tests of stuff she doesn't go over, expects u to figure out for urself. nice but sooo boring. She will drive u crazy!
very unclear, absolutely no organization with class notes, extremely vague and doesn't explain material, tests and quizzes on stuff we have not covered and you're expected to learn it on your own, extremely boring class with no structure, very frustrating
Wow, confusing
she's a bit nutty, but nice. she makes you write papers on how to solve math problems, and if you don't know how to solve them - you're screwed... but if you make friends with her, she'll help you out
she is so nice, and she says things that you never thought she'd say... entertaining, and she has such a good heart!
Do NOT take her for this class. Tests have nothing to do with lectures. Grading is ridiculous. Don't buy the book because it never gets used.

Material is very easy, but she is very boring. I got an A, and I didn't go to the first 2 weeks of class.
Nice lady, and tries to make things interesting, she just can't always find the right way. She rights EVERYTHING on the board. No attendence policy which is always nice
she is sooooo cute! such a sweet old lady, but not that great of a teacher. she will make you smile and laugh though, although going to class is pointless. not too hard if you can teach yourself!
one of those that will drive you nuts. acts nice sometimes, then takes points off for asking a question during tests...i think shes a bit off...doesn't know whats right and whats wrong...she can't teach but can act so stupid you have to laugh
Adorable at some times, annoying as hell at others. Not too hard so long as you study and dont blow it off as an easy A. Make sure you dont ask questions AT ALL during a test day, not even the time, she takes off points....
I think she's adorable...JEANNE! I can't wait to take her next semester...if you like math, it's not too bad at all, if you don't...I guess any level of math this high might be hard...
"I don't want to teach you the material because that would be giving you answers for what's on the test."
Jeanie's a cutie! She loves to dance. Tries to make class interesting,at least once a class period she has us dance or sing.Definately not your typical math teacher, doesn't always know what she's talking about, the textbook is unclear, but Jeanie's a trip
She tries to make class interesting, which she does succeed at. Jeanne can always make us laugh. If you are willing to read the book and do homework, it is a relatively easy class. I enjoyed it.
Jeanne is a trip! She makes class more interesting, but it's still boring. Tests are ok, just read the book. It seems like she doesn't always know what she's talking about.
Nice old lady but isnt willing to help or teach
she's a nerd. she's ambiguous with grading- just depends whether she likes you. she gave us an assignment without teaching the material that even the tutors in the math lab thought was stupid.
I didn't do any homework or pay attention at all...and I'm going into the final with an A. She's not a good teacher, but the class is easy enough that you don't need instruction.
ok dint do anything in 107 and got an A but i guess i skipped too many classes for 207 cuz at this point(the end of the semester) i am strugglin for a B in the class ... just go to class and turn in assignments and you'll get an A
Please JF is a trip. She is unwilling to help her students or give any type of assistance. Going to visit her during madatory office hours are a bother to her. Therefore, I suggest if math really isn't your thinking to avoid this woman at all cost.
goofy lady. shes like 60 but acts like shes 14. class is not as easy as you think it is. definatly have to study for tests. but shes fair. class goes by really slow.
THIS CLASS IS NOT AS EASY AS IT SEEMS TO BE....SHE DOESN'T REALLY TEACH YOU THE MATERIAL SO YOU HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF.....I DON'T RECOMEND HER....
I really warmed up to Jeanne taking 304 with her. She really appreciates it if you're participating or at least trying. She gets to know her students and is able to give good feedback/ assistance. She's one of my favorite math teachers.
Grades ambiguously. Talks to you like your five. Smells funny. Nothing about her class makes sense.
Very confusing grading process not recommended. She talks to you like you are a child and will not help you if you dont do things her way.
i love her sooo much. Best teacher, kinda like a grandma
being in this class wi like having your grandma as your teacher. Jeanne is great. She is really sweet and trys really hard to make you understand the material. You have to put in a lot of effort, but she will meet you half way and help you out a lot if you ask her too. As good as you can get in math
i have had this crazy woman twice. she is funny and nice at times, yeah...but she sucks at teaching and grades homework really hard..you never know what is on tests and you have to go to office hours for even the chance to know what she really wants..good luck if you get this woman, you'll need it
She's not THAT bad. i hated her for the first few weeks of class (both semesters) but then you get used to her and her teaching style and it's really not bad. i think she teaches the material very well and tries to make sure that the whole class understands it. just go to class. tests are hard.
Great teacher, cares much about her students and tries hard for them. Read the lessons, practice prob, and do h.w. in the book. Read lessons and practice prob before class and you will understand the lessons!,its like that for all calc classes. get to know her, she's really nice and fair grader.
Such a funny little lady. She tries hard to make sure you understand materials, gives homework, and test reviews which help for the sometimes ambiguous test material. Always trying to keep the class entertained. Goes SLOW, I've had her 2 sem. and have gotten a B and an A. LOVE THIS WOMAN!! :)
Jeanne is amazing! She really cares and has rapidly become one of my favorite teachers. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat. She genuinely wants you to understand. The material is difficult but Jeanne is great at helping you understand if you just do the work. Ask good questions.
I LOVE Jeannie... by far my favorite teacher at JMU! I've had her for 2 semesters and got a B last semester and have an A now... take her. She goes slow and if you have a question, she'll take the time to explain the answer to you. And she cracks me up!
Really funny lady!! She's really sweet. Some work and tests are a little hard, but it's not that bad. i would recommend her.
I love Jeanie so much. She just went out to dinner with us. She is so nice, and very helpful with everything you need. She always has office hours. She wants you to do really well
I think that Jeanie will always be my favorite professor at JMU. I have had an amazing year with her, and wish I could take more classes with her. She truly cares about all of her students and will do anything to help you. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN! You won't regret it! :)
I think everyone in my class will agree that it has been an awful experience taking this class. The end of the year project is ridiculous and a waste of time. Also she doesn't have a set grading system for tests so sometimes she takes off more points for some people than others. Awful class!!!!!
the people that say jeanie is sweet are LYING!! SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE FACE BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS CLASS.she makes you teach yourself, then grades how bad you suck at it. 10 question tests..yep thats 10 rediculously hard questions and a big F if you miss a few concepts.19 page proj 2 weeks before final
This class has been a complete waste of my time! Jeannie does not do a good job of teaching the material-we pretty much had to teach ourselves. She gave us a 20 page project two weeks before the final exam and then gave us a 50 question true/false exam. Do not take her if possible!
HORRIBLE! dont listen to anyone that says shes cool. I had her for 107 and 304 and she sucks. Both projects are a ridiculous waste of time. 20 page paper sucked. Her tests were impossible. The average of the first test was a 25.. DO NOT TAKE HER if you want to keep you sanity. she should be fired!
Jeanie is the cutest little woman! she's like a grandma, always eager to help you, although sometimes she confuses herself in the meantime. She truly loves her students, we just went out to dinner with her, now what prof does that?! Her tests are kinda hard if you don't study, but do the review sheet and go to office hours and you'll be fine.
Jeannie is th sweetest woman i've ever met. She's like a grandma to all her students. She very helpful and knows her material. She's funny too.
Jeanne is great! She is so nice and as long as you try she will not give you a bad grade. Her tests can be somewhat difficult but she always gives extra credit, if you can try to get her!
Jeanne is the sweetest person in the entire world. She is so incredibly cute! The class isn't too bad. Tests are a bit difficult but allows test corrections for extra points. I'd take her again in a heartbeat.
Jeanne is extremely nice and yes she's like a grandma, but she's not a very good teacher at all. Trust me. Her tests are incredibly hard and she doesn't prepare students well enough. She gives you easy examples in class and for homework and then when the test comes, she screws you with questions that are much more difficult.
Basically, read all the ratings w/ sad faces b/c they're very accurate. She doesn't even thoroughly explain the lessons and problems that end up on the test. And for students like myself who are way too busy to make her office hours, good luck studying the night away, or for days in advance! Cute lady, but HORRIBLE teacher. So not recommended!
Jeannie is very nice and for the most part very clear. She gives weekly quizzes and drops the 2 lowest at the end of the semester. I would recommend her to anyone taking this class.
let me quote her: "hmm..yeah i'm not very good at adding" umm...i think it's time to retire. sweet lady, but very slow paced, and confusing sometimes.
Awesome Lady. Very nice, extremely helpful, easy class. Definitely take her if you can.
the WORST teacher ever!...do not take this woman she is the most horrbile teacher at JMU and has her own made up magical math that does not exist..her grading system is unfair and bascailly she wants u to fail....if she is the only class u can take then just dont take any classes at all u WILL regret taking her class..****in pissed me off, horrible
SHe is great
Jeanne was by far one of my best teachers this semester...she is very helpful and want you to do well...i would recommend her to anyone...she gives daily homework and if you do your work you will do well!
Run for your life.
A really nice lady who trys hard, but she has trouble with clarity when teaching hard subjects. Test and quizes were harder than they should have been but she lets you drop your 2 lowest grades, and webwork homework grades help to bring up your grade.
should have been the easiest class ever. we learned about roman numerals and drew spirographs, but somehow most of us managed to have c's in her class. she is a really nice lady but often you are thrown into the material and when someone asks what you are learning in her class you don't even know what to say because it is generally unclear.

This class should have been so easy and would have been if she had taught well. It seemed like we were continuously thrown into the material without instruction and were expected to know things that we were not taught.
She is the sweetest. Quizzes are straight off the homework sheets that she gives out. She goes through 1 topic per class. On odd days, class is still 50 mins even though its supposed to be 1:15. She postpones quizzes if the class does not seem to understand the materials. 13 quizzes, drops lowest two. Final is optional =)
Easiest math teacher. Quizzes are once a week and incredibly easy. If the material is too hard, go to the Math Center and they'll explain well. It's hard NOT to get an A. 13 Quizzes, drops lowest 2, and optional final. Easiest class I've taken yet. She's also one of the nicest teachers here, if you don't like her, there's something wrong with you.
One of my favorite teachers at JMU. Class is pretty easy. Quizzes once a week that are straight from homework worksheets (not graded). Drops two lowest quizzes, optional final. She is such a sweet lady and really wants everyone to understand the material. VERY helpful and cute!! Take her if you can.
Exactly what the 3 previous comments said. Jeannie is the nicest teacher I have had so far. I always leave class with a smile bc she always does something hilarious. Really effective teacher; she teaches calculus by relating it to the real world which I love! Ever wonder why you need calc in life? Take Jeannie. Recommend her 100%
Jeannie is a great teacher. Her notes sometimes run on and become unclear, but she will gladly help you. 13 quizzes, only 11 count. TAKE HER, you wont regret it.
Awesome. Old and unclear at times, but shes funny without trying to be. 13 quizzes, 1 per week, two lowest dropped FINAL OPTIONAL. Basically if you do the worksheets and memorize a weeks worth of lectures you will get a B. Also, each week the quiz is on something different so you really don't need to remember things from the previous week. TAKE HER
LOVE LOVE LOVE HER! awesome class. no tests and optional final. good at teaching the material and i feel like i learned a lot!
Jeannie is just like everybody's grandma. write down everything she writes on the board. quiz every monday which i just looked over my notes and worksheets an hour before the class. final is optional. i loooooved her class.
I loved jeanne! make sure you pay attention. quizzes every monday but they are easy if you study. she also drops lowest 3 quiz grades. she also does random things sometimes which are funny half because of how old she is. good teacher. take her if you can
shes the greatest math 231 teacher there is! i've never had any pre-calc or calc class before and i got an A. you just need to pay attention and write down eevrything on the board and your straight..basically, take her if you can
WE LOVE JEANNIE! She may be a little unclear, but she's so sexy and she teaches pretty okay? But seriously take her, she's got a nice personality, and no final! Plus she dances when she's happy
Well for starters, I found that Jeannie was a big disappointment. She does care but not enough to go out of her way to help you when you go out of your way to seek help. Her class is do able, but you will not gain much from it. Take it or leave it.
Jeannie was a fabulous professor! I am not a math person, but she made calculus much easier to understand. Always willing to help and will go over problems over and over until students understand. Great professor. I highly recommend her.
she is not a very effective teacher. ALL her things are right from the book or something she just printed off and when you ask her how or why tere's a certain answer she just evades the question and asks what you think. you realize she just has no idea. Doesn't require homework but gets angry and punishes you with hard tests if you dont do it.
She is an ok professor. Not very clear with the content she is explaining and she can be hard to understand a lot of the time. She is however, a very nice lady. She also has exams now. 3 tests, 2 writing projects and a final exam. All tests are 10 to 15 questions. So each question is worth a lot of credit.
