Great teacher. She's straight to the point hands out quizzes of exactly what's gonna be on the test. Like every math class the grade depends on you going to every class and understanding each lesson and not just showing up and doing the homework(which is unnecessary besides for study purposes). So she is animated in class (although some chose to use a different word), I found her to be entertaining. A math teacher has to do something to keep her student's attention. Besides she will let you know exactly what's on the test! She is one of my top two math teachers when it comes to explaining problems as well. I would take her again!!

I really enjoyed Dr. Smith last semester. I feel really good about transferring from Saddleback because she really made me work hard. This lady is hilarious! I had her for summer school and she was great! Explains everything very well and is available for questions after class. She can get pretty intense at times, but it honestly just made me laugh. She's a great math teacher and very smart.

I heard from a friend that this instructor doesn't put up with any shenanigans in her classroom, and that's exactly what she does. If you are serious about learning, take Dr. Smith. This is not a high school classroom like some of the students think it is. One warning, do not miss class or come in late. She will unleash her wrath on you.

She is forsure hard, i ended with a D in her class, so i am taking it over agian. what hurt me the most is the only grades that you get in the class is the tests, which i believe there was 3 of. I found her to be quite easy.All the tests taken refect the quizzes which are easy anyway since there are no calculators allowed. Recieving an A or B in this class is an easy challenge but it does reuire some extra hours memorizing data. If your not looking to take calculus I recommend something else.

Mrs. Smith was the best math teacher I've ever had. If you struggle with Math, you won't find a more understanding, reasonable teacher. She's not easy. You have to work hard. But it's so worth it. I took 3 of my math courses with her(8,11,9)Yes, attendance is important for a good reason, she simplifies everything in the book to make it easy on YOU. I can't help but laugh when I read the comments of those who complain about mandatory attendance. IT'S COLLEGE! The only reason you should miss a class is for an emergency or if you're honestly too sick or contagious to go to school. Smith is the best Math prof. at this school. Best math teacher I've had yet. Tests aren't hard. She gives practice quizzes almost every class. She goes over the homework thoroughly and answers all questions. She's strict and straightforward. If you want to learn, take this class. If you're in it for the grade, I'd take someone else.

Okay, here's the thing. I liked her. I thought she was a good teacher. She makes things simple and easy. She allowed me to take the second midterm late because of the fires (email her if you have an issue!). I got an 85 and 75 on the two mids. I got 10 on the final. Why? Because I followed the book's way of doing the problems instead of her way.

I thought I'd have trouble with Calculus but she simplified it in ways that made learning fun and interesting. She does things her own way, which turn out to be the best way. Very intense class and I must say, not a nice old lady. But the one thing I absoluetly loved about her, is that she made precalc so much easier. Well when you're not allowed to use calculators in a trig class, it does make you study you know.

Dr. Smith makes Calculus super easy, and she is very straight-forward. There are 3 tests that make up your grade, and she gives quizes frequently. The quizes aren't graded, but the tests are exactly like the quizes so study them and you'll be fine. I never did any of the homework and only studied the quizes, and I got an A.

Easy teacher. Show up for class and you'll understand the material. If you study the quizzes, the tests are practically the same. She's willing to help you if you show up to class. It's not difficult.

This class is just like every TRANSFERABLE class. She is straightforward about what she wants on her test! She may be old & senile but if you give the effort she will give it right back! She has office hours everyday! her homework is not long maybe 10 problems a night on average and it's optional. The people who rated her bad are probably bitter.

I can't really say this class was easy, but I did get an A. There's a lot of material to know, so you have to put in the work to learn it, but as long as you do that you'll be fine. Her personality can be abrasive and she isn't always good about answering questions, but I still recommend her as long as you plan to take the class seriously.

I barely passed this class, only because i fell behind and was too lazy to ask for help. She comes off as a cranky older lady at first, but trust me, she's super nice! Professor Smith made this class very easy to understand. She took the time to explain all aspects of the course and was extremely helpful with understanding algebra concepts. Excellent teacher! I got a D in Calculus the first time around, and retook it with Prof. Smith and got a B! She explains things very well- 3 exams (no cumulative final), each worth 1/3rd of your grade. Quizzes help you with the exams, with are VERY fair.

Not for grade quizzes; all the material on the quizzes is on the tests. Study the quizzes. Do the homework. I got an A on all three tests doing that.

Dr. Smith teaches you the easiest way to do the math and her tests are made from daily quizzes. Very knowledgable teacher and extremely helpful during office hours. Definitely a ball buster who expects you to earn your grade. Highly recommended for anyone going on with math.

I took the summer course. 16 quizs that dont count towards grade (just helps you know where your at). The tests are EXACTLY like her packets. HW due every day, but you dont have to turn them in until the test dates. Three tests with about 15-25 questions. Shes a little harsh and set in her ways. but she is very clear and easy.

Math is not my subject & this was my 2nd attempt at Statistics, but Dr. Smith is excellent. She has seen & heard it all before, so she knows how to get you through the material-Just do the work EXACTLY as she says and you will pass! Dr. Smith is my favorite professor. I started last year from pre-algebra in summer and took her class again this semester for Trig. She makes math easy and her math skills are awesome. if you want to do good in Calculus 3B, which is mostly trig, you need to take her. she will make you remember all your angles and formulas which will serve you good in the future. all her tests are made up of the quizzes you take in the class.

Solid teacher. Knows what she is talking about and wants you to do well. 2 tests and a final. Homework doesn't count but if you're borderline she will bump you. Strict. Dont expect to text/talk or do anything but math because she will kick you out.

Smith is by far one of the best math professors I have ever had. I got a D last time I took trig and in a six week course with Smith I got a B! She bases her tests off of her quiz's and she never gives you any surprises. She can be very strict so if you are gonna be late don't even bother going to class. I would take her again for sure!

She's strict about attendance. Get an A if you pay attention & do the homework. Pros: She presents her concepts very clearly and her test questions aren't difficult. I am currently taking this professor again in Math 10. She is clearest professor I have ever taken. She has a pretty rough exterior, but as long as you show her respect and show up on time you should never get yelled at. (Or ask stupid questions, like what is already stated on the syllabus) Overall one of the best math teachers in the department.

If you are overly sensitive or have a limited sense of humor, avoid this class. If you would like to understand math on a fundamental level I would recommend this professor, she teaches the basics that allow you to understand the subject clearly.

If you are serious about learning trig, this is a great teacher, she doesn't tolerate nonsense. Tests were formed by non-graded quizzes which you would receive almost every day. My suggestion is to bunker down in the LRC and master those quizzes and expect a good grade. Homework isn't required but highly recommended.

Professor Smith is a phenomenal professor if you put the time in. She takes what she does very seriously and expects you to do the same. Study hard. Review the quizzes. Dr. Smith is a great professor and her lectures are easy to follow (usually based on HW from the textbook). As long as you keep up with the HW, show up to every class prepared with good questions, and study the quizzes(almost identical to the exams if you ask me), you will ace the class. Even though this professor is tough and hard on you, if you put your mind to it and ignore some of her rude comments it's an easy class to pass. Many people get hung up on her hard class style or the fact that you actually need to go to class. She tells you exactly how she wants her tests and if you do it you'll get 99% on your tests.

I have to say, Prof. Smith is probably one of the best Math teachers I've had. Yes, she can be stern and and impatient at times but it is only because she wants you to work hard and treats you like an adult which you should be acting as. If you are an easily offended millenial, this is not the class for you. She will push you to get better at math.

Professor Smith is the best professor Ive ever had. I took her Math 8, Math 11, and Math 124 classes, getting As in them all. Homework isnt required, but crucial for success. The entire class is based on three test scores, but the class quizzes help you know EXACTLY what to expect on them so theres no surprises come test day.

The entire class is based off only 3 tests but if you do all your hw, she will bump your grade up. She is not the nicest person when lecturing. Professor Smith is an experienced professor. Took her for both math 8 and 11 and got A's in both. The hw she assigns is long is long, but is good practice. The quizzes matches the hw and the exams matches the quizzes. If you don't do well on a quiz, she goes over it in great detail.

Professor Smith scared me at first. She was old, came off strong, teaches things "her" way, and only grades the entire class off of 3 exams (100 points each). Homework is not graded, therefore it is not required but highly advised. She collects HW every class and if you complete it all she will bump up your grade if your on the edge.

She is a good teacher- she gives HW that is optional but if you want a better grade I recommend doing it. Do not use your phone, show up to every class, and do the HW (even though it is optional). I had a C the whole semester but I did EVERY assignment which helped bump my grade up to a B (she is more generous when you do the HW so DO IT!)

If you cannot manage to do well on three tests the whole semester then do not take the class. Honestly, I got an A in this class by studying the Quizzes and Working on problems I did not know. Just ask questions in class, pay attention, and study and You will be fine. She is very nice if you at least try to do well. Good Teacher.
