Very monotone. Right out of the textbook so dont go to class
boring and uninspiring. completely useless. gillmore and the textbook are interchangeable, cept the book has pretty pictures.
She doesn't add any excitement to the class, but teaches decently. The course has inherent boringness, and the concepts can be tough to grasp. She does her best to try and straighten things out.
she is alot better then Parkin in explaining topics though she is monotone and needs to bring excitement to the class. Topics need more detail, plus less slides and more black board

very helpful!
very rude if you disagree with her. can teach concepts very well, however has inherent mean-ness and is very very boring
We are not a gang. Stop calling us a gang. Always seems peeved. Anything sets her off. I don't really understand her either.
Enjoy Parkin while you have him...
If you like being treated like you're still an undisciplined high school student, then she's right up your alley. Seriously, take advantage of Parkin while you have him...
Everyone says she's mean & always peeved... but she gets the job done. She does a good job providing the class with informative notes and going through questions. I ask her questions and she'll answer.
She's a ****....she accused me of cheating on the exam and gave me the biggest ****en hedache wit da dean and****......all because the guy beside me was sneezing and he asked for a kleenex.
terrible, mark in 1st sem- 82 with gillmore- 52, she gets mad at everyone and gets even in the exams. Anyone can read off parkins poweroint notes. Treats students like 14 year olds and as a result, students act that way
I think she was a great professor. Unlike first semester, I didn't doze off once. She's much less boring to listen to than Parkin, and she makes her own lecture slides for each class. Would've been more helpful if she made them a week in advance though.
WAY better than Parkin.. a lot more interesting. Teaches concepts clearly thru her notes, and is extremely helpful. I definitely enjoyed 2nd semester better!!
She is not naturally smart unlike Parkin.Sometimes, she is conceptually wrong but doesn't understand logic. She's quite evil and not inspirational. Parkin is the greatest if you read before you come to class.
Jeannie is SOOOO much better than boring old Parkin. She only teaches stuff you need to know for the exam unlike Parkin who assumes we all love learning econ for the hell of it. I love you Jeannie!!!

she is so mean. She even jokes about the death of family members
Not a bad professor - notes are right out of the text, but solving problems is more important. Assignments were pretty good. However, it was TOTALLY ridiculous that students had to memorize ALL the statistic formulas for the final.
VERY helpful, nice and funny professor. Explains material clearly, gives great notes. Makes you practice enough stuff through assignments so you are not butchered on the exam. ppl who take this econometrics course make sure you practice enough and do all assignments, thats they key!
Alright.
100 times better than Parkin. She was so helpful and I didn't fall asleep once in that class. Brought my mark way up. Just bring her excellent lecture notes to class and you're all set! She's great -- don't listen to people that tell you otherwise.
She's not as good as Parkin.
I have no clue what everyone is talking about here. Parkin is WAAAAAAAY better .Gillmore made macroeconomics dull and mundane. She is not nearly as finical as Parkin, which severely hinders your ability to do well. She thinks a superficial understanding will help you pass. Make sure to understand the material and read the book. DONT GO TO CLASS!!!!
Econ is not an easy subject. Gillmore does a great job of reinforcing tough concepts into students. She makes you work hard for your grade, but you will remember everything in the long-run--long after you are done. So put in the effort, and you will reap the benefits. Parkin is alright.
She is much nicer to students now than she was before (Someone complained because she was a b*** in the past). She's not as smart as Parkin...but she IS very clear and very helpful.
Very focused as a professor, while not as energetic as parkin she conducts class in a much more organized, easy to follow manner
Twice the teacher Parkin will ever be. She gives notes, helps students, sets extra hours, and conducts good review sessions (all unlike Parkin).

BRING BACK PARKIN... I HATE GILLMORE. She's a grade 2 teacher in the university setting. Her fill in the blank notes although adored by lazy students teach you NOTHING. She's an out right mean lady and her slow talking puts me to sleep. I call her the ICE QUEEN!

Difficult course material that is expalined more thoroughly and coherently in the text. Degrading in communication. Better to be on her good side. Not very helpful, especially when situational factors are involved. Parkin was more valuable, if you read before class.

Great teacher, really helpful!!!!!
Awesome teacher. She actually TAUGHT vs. just repeating what the textbook says. Took the time to work problems with the lecture notes and did exam preps. Plus highly approachable, but doesn't like slackers in class. Word of advice, READ THE TEXTBOOK and skim her lecture notes! Her notes are good for working problems.
Really Good Teacher. Very Helpful with extra help. But she is a **** when it comes to those stupid assignments!
fair teacher who actually teaches. did a decent job keeping the course interesting. truly cares for students sake. gillmore has definitely changed my perspective about university
She's nice, but compared to Parkin, her teaching style is kind of dry, she uses overhead. 1st midterm was easy, but make sure you study hard for the 2nd midterm and the final, my mark went down from the 1st midterm. She helps if you ask her questions. Make sure you call in 'sick' when exam time because she got pissed off last year.
I hated the fact that she used clickers for not only quizzes, but atttendance as well! Although she was boring, she was still pretty easy when it came to exams. Unlike Parkin's first-term exams, hers never had any "challenge" questions. Make sure you get past years' exams and I guarantee you'll get an 80+.
Jeannie knows the material but she really has to work on her personality. I attended her Econ 122a lectures in 04 and was initially put off by her condescending attitude. However, she actually has a sharp wit and an easygoing personality if you visit her during office hours. It's too bad that most students do not get to see that side of her.
the exam is easy. although the clicker makes you go to most of the classes, seems to me, it is kind of wasting time on her class and she likes embarrassing students. I prefer Parkin.
She is pretty good...
Gillmore is a bit of a tedious professor, but it is very easy to get a good grade in her class. First, you have to be sure to check out past year's exams, as their are usually 10-20 questions that are identical. Also, the clicker quizzes are the same for morning and afternoon classes, so ask a friend in the morning class. And use the study plan!!!
Jeannie makes economics bearable. Way better than Parkin...she gives us all hope after him first semester. She really cares and wants you to do well. All you need to do is put in a little effort.
Anyone who thinks Gillmore is a better prof than Parkin probably sucks at econ. Parkin makes it so much more interesting than Gillmore. If you like grade 3 fill in the blank notes than Gillmore's a good go.
Just go to class, then you don't really need to study that hard to get A+. She makes everything clear! I liked her, liked her notes oh, and you should always attend class since she sometimes gives hints for the exam
Bewarrre this stupid lady can fail you. After I got my final mark i emailed and and asked if she can please go over my marks to see where i messed up. She emails me back telling me, there is nothing to check. AVOID HER AND PARKIN AT ALL COSTS.
dun need to go to her class at all. I got 100% on macro and only went to 2 classes
i prefer parkin more than her. parkin does make economics more interesting. she makes econ/macro like a high school course where you cram everything in and then you ace it. parkin has challenging questions- but it is the whole point of econ. econ is not all about memorizing facts. this is why people who study all day and nights get 100s.
better than parkin Period. But
Boring class and a boring prof. She's alright at teaching material, but doesn't really engage her students.
Good teacher, clever and knows what she's doing. Exams are very fair, make sure you go to class though, because she makes it pretty clear what she is going to emphasize on the exam.
She was great. Wasn't crazy about writing out the notes, but it certainly helped. She is around when you need help and you can tell she cares.
Gillmore is far easier than Parkin. That is a fact. She is the econ prof for those students who feel no desire to be challenged or inspired. The lack of challenge questions and interesting material can lead to an incredibly boring class; however, if you have no actual interest in economics and are simply looking for a good mark, go for it.
Easier than Parkin. She is funny and if you follow her, she makes a lot of sense and makes it easier to understand. Also does an optional bonus project to get 5% added to your mark at the end of the course (thats a lot!) Try to get her for micro and macro for sure.
Amazing prof! Put all the notes online so you could print them off and bring them to class with you. Very funny, good at explaining things, and easy! Loved her class plus the bonus assignment
She made the class sooo easy. Told us so many hints on the midterms and final exam. She teaches like a high school teacher and there is no challenge whatsoever. Her class notes were also very helpful!
Great at explaining concepts and running the class. Lectures are very helpful and clear. She essentially makes the notes for you, and they are available online. MIDTERMS are relatively easy, however she included 7 VERYYYY difficult questions on the final. Great prof, but you need to study hard to do well on final
exams are very like past exams, be sure you get past exams. helpful to answer question and textbook very useful!
Great prof. Makes the information crystal clear. Always eager to help students understand and learn. Easy to follow. Hard course but teacher makes it understandable.
She's a nice person. I really liked her notes because she summarazied the chapter nicely and it was easy to follow in class. She also never made you read chapters or parts of chapters that were unnessesary.
Loved that she never used powerpoint, and provided great exam review though it was always rushed. Exams were definitely tricky
Her exams are harder than anything. She says she'll make them easy but end up making the hardest exam ever.
She is very knowledgeable in her subject and loved the topic of economics. Her lectures are useful and she sometimes gives out information about what is on the tutorial quizzes. Her exams can be difficult, but definitely doable if you do many practice questions. I recommend taking her class because of the bonus assignment that will bump your mark.
She is the best first year Econ prof for sure. Go to lecture, you can listen the whole time and she really knows how to explain concepts. Her midterms are very fair as long as you do the readings. Her extra assignment gives you 5% onto your final grade which is a blessing from heaven. Definitely choose her out of any other profs for Econ.
She's been trying out this thing this where she has online quizzes, quizzes in tutorials, and quizzes in class. Like for real? Enough quizzes bruv. Also, midterm all open ended???? That's not even good for the markers let alone the students. Definitely will not pick again.
Okay, so I'm sitting here in a situation that many of you will face. This prof assigned us questions for the exam with no answers. Well, she sends us on an online scavenger hunt through her favourite website myeconlab to look for answers that are not even numerically correct. At the end of the rainbow however, there are no answers and I am screwed.
I don't know what her problem is but she has fun making the course as hard as possible, she doesn't post anything, sends me the wrong mark and can't even tell us whats on exams. She gives you such a broad scope to study for most kids fail the final, unless you read the whole book. She's terrible I recommend anyone else
Jeannie is an awesome professor. Her notes are thorough and exams are fair. Some of the questions are straight from the study guide, so I'd recommend using it. She's actually a fairly funny prof, which isn't easy when you're teaching economics.
Overall a nice prof but I dint find her very helpful. Her exams are hard!
Not willing to communicate with students, rude, she keeps making calculation mistakes on lecture.
She won't actually what or how formulas are applied. Questions, and then next second you see the answers. Could not figure out what is going on. You would be better off reading the book. Just skip the lectures, which are meaningless.
Gillmore is awesome for econ, does everything old school with hand written notes. Just go to class and do the homework and you should easily get over 90 in this course.
Don't really like the way she tested on us
She was good in past three years. But not in 2016. 12 online quizzes plus 4 tutorial quizzes plus 3 exams made life hard. Talk too fast! First midterm was not multiple choice exam and I was tricked by that. Most importantly, I asked if I can see last midterm, she said no way with cold face.
Heard good reviews about her in previous years. However, felt subpar to me this year. Very good attitude but a good attitude has no correlation with being able to present course material. She tries very hard to make things interesting and it just ends up making things confusing. I can't ever tell if she's cracking a joke or being serious
Terrific prof, fair and tries her hardest to make Econ interesting
FABULOUS professor. Makes very clear notes with everything you need in there. Fair grader, and will give you test hints if you go to lecture. Go to lecture and you will do well. Do a bit of extra textbook reading and you will do exceptional.
Does not use PowerPoint for lectures, insisting on using a projector where she writes on some paper. The problem is her handwriting is hard to read & depending on the lecture hall if you have a bad seat in class - you won't be able to read what's on the screen. Because of that you have to be listening carefully to her voice, which is very shrill.
Professor Gillmore was by far my favorite professor at Western. Really knows her stuff and is very helpful during and after class. If you go to class, you'll get an A, and if you don't, you'll get a significantly lower grade.
She is an amazing prof. Had her for macro econ and she clearly outlined everything you needed to know for the exams and quizzes. There were pop quizzes in tutorial so you had to keep up with the readings. As long as you come to class, do the readings and practice questions, guaranteed 90+
I'm not sure why her average rating is so low, because Professor Gillmore is seriously the best Economics professor at Western. She can come across a bit intimidating, but she is seriously one of the nicest and most caring people ever. Her lectures were very helpful and complimented the readings perfectly. She made macro one of my favourite courses
Horrible. She tried a new method where attendance was mandatory and there were worksheets in class worth 10% of your mark. She did not lecture and left us to figure it out in little groups. Absolutely terrible, I learned nothing and she was condescending to top it off. Her second midterm was especially hard. If she tries this method again, avoid it
