She is a great teacher. I was very impressed with her knowledge of all aspects of education. The class is demanding in assignment aspects, but if you do the work, you'll get an A. The best teacher to teach these classes.
Terrible!
She knows her stuff! It is a lot of work, but if you can manage your time properly, you should be fine!
She's the worst teacher ever!! And watch out if your a guy taking the class, she's very bias....she has her favorites and about 1/2 or more of the students drop or don't get above a C!! Also, don't plan on taking a tone of other classes cause she gives a ton of papers!!
She seems to know everything about education. She is very clear when teaching but there is a lot of work. But then again this is college and we should be used to that by now. Overall if you can keep up you will appreciate her later.
It is a very hard class. Literally, I work my ass out in this class. Tons and tons of papers. However, she is very knowledgable. I don't like her tests though. You really have to know the material if you want to pass them.
Very helpful and she knows about what she is teaching. She is very nice and easy to talk to. She makes the class interesting and fun. It's easy to pass the class.
This teacher does not know what she is talking about. She picks out students who seem to be the smartest and those are her favorites. She teaches about HER experiences, not what is said in the text. All she talks about are HER children and that is the way she teaches, based off what she has done to raise her own children. Advice-Dont take her class
Horrible teacher! <<<WARNING>>> DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!! Worst teacher I have ever had. VERY BIAS. Bases class off her experience as a mother. Doesn't care about students. Nasty remarks. Sarcastic. Best advice I can give..AVOID LOMBARDI AT ALL COSTS!
She's a great teacher and knows what she is talking about. Very helpful inside and outside of class. A fair amount of work but all relevant.
She is a GREAT teacher! She is really nice and understanding. If u need help she is willing to help out. she is very interesting and keeps the students interested and wanting us all to cme back everytime we meet! I would recemond taking her!!
She's an amazing teacher who is always willing to help... She's really funny and always makes class interesting..
One of the Best teachers I have had this term during my 2nd year @ harper explains every thing if you are confused about something
i took this same class last semester with some other teacher, i hated it. This semester is different. shes wonderful! Yes u have to study, this is college...hot high school! She is very knowledgeable and will def. take her other classes!
She was one of the best teachers i have ever had at harper for my 2nd year there........so if you ever have to take a class see if she is teaching it
She's a great teacher and it's a great class because you learn a lot from it.
Awesome teacher. Shes a pretty easy grader. A lot of extra credit offered in this class. She knows what shes talking about and is one of the best teachers i have ever had. I would strongly reccommend taking a class with her.
I have Mixed reviews about this class, as Mrs lombardi makes the abstract material easy to understand, however the volume of papers necessary is huge, and the tests are exceedingly difficult. she has great spirit and enthusiasm, but if you are not going to be a teacher, avoid this one. if you are, make sure you get her as an instructor.
I love her as a teacher. Mrs. Lombardi is great. Her tests are a little challenging but you get to use your notes. She is very helpful and her class is fun. I'm taking her again next semester.
She clearly knows what she is talking about, but doesn't make her self approachable. I didn't like coming up to her to ask questions, it's not like I'm a bad student but I felt like an idiot after talking to her.
This is the third class I have taken with her. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Would take her again if I could. She is very enthusiastic, knows her stuff, and is an easy grader. You get to use your notes on the tests but they are a bit hard. Take her if you can. It'll be worth it.
fun, you can only miss two classes and then she docs points. no extra credit, lots of short papers
Mrs. Lombardi is an amazing teacher. She is the perfect EDU teacher because she showes you exactly what kind of teacher to be. The amount of work is very high but what class doesnt have alot of work. SHES GREAT and the only EDU teacher i reccomend!
Best teacher I've had. Shes very approachable. Shes always willing to help you. As long as you do the work and turn it in on time, youll get an A. Tests are decent.
She's a wonderful teacher, has a lot of knowledge about the teaching profession! Take her if you want to be a teacher! A lot of papers/assignments, but she gives homework coupons. Tests can be a little difficult, so study and take notes from the book! Some tests we got to work together. Some extra credit opportunities also! Just do your work :)
One of the best teachers I have taken. There is a lot of papers but they are for your portfolio. As long as you keep up and do the clinical experience, you will do fine. She is always there to help so dont be afraid to ask her. If she taught any more classes I would take her again.
I took 211 and 201 with her! I really like her and she knows her stuff. As long as you do the work, you are going to get a good grade. She gives study guides for the tests and we even had a group test for one of them. She lets you know what she wants and is really nice!
I miss Mrs. Lombardi so much! She was the best EDU teacher I've ever had. I took as many classes with her as possible my entire 2 years at Harper. She's very clear, pleasant, positive, experienced, and passionate about teaching. I'm currently at ISU and professors at Harper were a million times more organized and professional than at ISU.
This is the best teacher ever!I loved her and all the positive comments are true! She is an excellent instructor!
Ms. Lombardi is a great teacher. She is both passionate and knowledgeable about the field of education. If you're planning on being a teacher, definitely take her!
This class was so boring! I didn't have any interest at all. I barely studied for the tests b/c she gave us open notes test. Man, i'm surprised I got a B. I didn't do a/t, she doesn't explain very well on the assignments, so you might have to ask her twice. This class made me lose interest in being a teacher. I would've gotten an A if I cared more
Mrs. Lombardi was a good teacher. She reminds me of a 6th grade teacher by the way that she talks to you, but all in all she knows what shes talking about. I didnt take her class seriously so i didnt do well but i bet i would have if i tried
She's a really great teacher. She loves what she does and is pretty helpful and understanding teacher. It's a fairly easy class. READ THE BOOK! It's open notes tests and you don't really learn that much from just her lectures. There is a lot of homework and extra work. Despite her passion, this class made me realize I don't want to be a teacher.
A lot of work is involved in this class. With that said, it's all fairly easy. I got 100% on everything without an extreme amount of effort. All tests are open note, some are open book. Do the work and you'll pass with an A or B easily.
Fantastic teacher, taught me more then probably any teacher so far at Harper. She really knows her stuff
Really enjoyed her class. Not many people (8 students). Lots of papers, seemed like 1 was due per class, 5 exams, 15 hours of clinical work, but very informative and gave great insight to history of education and new directions it may go. Many students did not seem very interested, but I liked it! To be a good teacher, you have to be a good learner
A fantastic instructor and she loves to teach. Very informative class and she makes it more interesting with a lot of group activities. As with all EDU courses, there are a lot of papers to meet standards. I would take any of the classes she teaches.
Best teacher I have had at Harper. She really knows her stuff and is so nice. I've taken three of her classes. If you want to love education and learn from the best, take her class!
She is a great teacher. She does her best to remain unbiased in the classroom and to help all her students feel validated. I learned so much in her class and looked forward to going each week. Like all education classes, it is paper heavy, but it is worth the effort.
Split class, half online half face-to-face. VERY open professor, allows a massive amount of class disscussion. A lot of writing but it is informative. Easy grader, great class!
Mrs. Lombardi is an awesome teacher. She is very knowledgable and knows her stuff. Only midterm and final and they're all based on the quizzes. Easy class .
It's not the teacher...it's the class. The class is alot of busy work which is awesome if you want to be a teacher. If youre a full-time student & full-time worker and not a education major do NOT take this class. There is a lot of outside of class work. Attending meetings, 15 observation hours, teacher interviews. Deadlines are back to back
She is a very knowledgeable. The class has a lot of busy work and will constantly have a paper due every week. She used to be an english teacher therefore you better make sure you get your papers edited before turning them in. You get to make note sheet front & back for test puts study guides online. Need textbook. I recommend her
Professor Lombardi is the best teacher I have had. I will definitely use this information in the future. She is very accommodating, easy to talk to, and clearly knows what she is talking about. The class is a lot of work, but if you work hard, you can pull out an A or B. Would recommend her to anyone.
Mrs. Lombardi is one of the greatest professors I've had at Harper College. She wants you to be successful and helps you out with whatever you need. These classes have a ton of work, but you get used to it. I recommend you take her classes.
Mrs. Lombardi is the greatest teacher ever! She is very helpful and always here for her students. You need to go to classes or else your grade will suffer. The syllabus looks tough but if you want to be an educator then this class is what you need. I recommend this teacher for all the education classes at Harper College.
If you are interested in private school programs DO NOT bring it up. She will treat you differently. Just say you are going to do public and show up to class.
Overall, she is a great professor. She will answer any questions you have and is pretty clear on everything she teaches.
Lombardi is an amazing professor. I highly recommend her. She is funny, caring and understanding. Yes we have a lot of papers but they aren't tough if you do your work. She is clear on what needs to be done and how she will grade. Her feedback is always great.
Meet once a week to discuss and everything is done online. You show up basically to see what you're doing and turn in papers and discuss. Easy A if you do your work. The only time you need the book is for one case study discussion or to help you on your 3 exam which are easy.
Prof. Lombardi is truly caring, flexible, and knowledgeable. She's amazing! Don't buy the book, use Quizlet for weekly quizzes, mid-term & final. Exam q's are from quizzes & have study guides. Must pay about $90 for BG check to do 15 hrs of observations. EASY A if you do your work/all papers on time, there's extra credit, & attendance is graded.
Mrs. Lombardi is a wonderful professor. She can be a little talkative during lectures. Homework is pretty easy along with the other class work. Make sure you study for the tests especially the midterm & final.
Compared to 201, this class only needs 10 obs hrs. Tests are a bit harder (mostly scenarios connecting psychology theories), but just study from the PPTs. Lots of extra credit opps! Same as 201 attendance is taken (sign-in sheet) but only 2 pts per class. If you do well on papers/abstracts/HW, you can miss like 9 classes & still get an A! (I did)
Don't take this class as an elective if you're not an edu major, it can get unenjoyable or confusing bc every paper has you consider what you would do as a future educator. She talks a lot so class gets off track. Exams are easy (all q's off the online quizzes), LOTS of papers. Just stay on track, ask for help, she's EZ to talk to & caring
The books for EDU 201 & 211 are super expensive, over $100 - borrow from a friend. For 211, you really only need the case studies book for 4 short essays. There's a lot of HW but they're super easy, it's just tedious work. She's really understanding & helpful bc she was a previous HS teacher, HS principal, and now Harper Dept Chair
She is very reasonable. She cares about all of her students success. Lombardi should be the only one instructing college level Education department courses.
Such a nice professor who cares about the success of her students. Class is a little lecture heavy but she makes them fun and interesting and always tries to incorporate small activities into her lectures. Its an easy A but it also taught me so much about the field of education and Im thankful I had her to teach me.
very good teacher, teaches you valuable things, funny, easy going, caring, tries to make class interesting,
This profesor does not encourage learning. She makes grade critics poorly. To be TEACHING an education major she should resourcefull supporting INSTEAD IT SEEMS LIKE HER MAIN FOCUS is TO FAIL HER STUDENTS. No one is looking for an easy A. But she is one of those people who hard impossible to satisfy.
Absolutely love this woman! Syllabus is super clear and she gives constant reminders of what is due soon and gives constant clarification on what is required to be done. Super friendly and is willing to help you if you have any trouble. A lot of work but its not hard, as long as you show up and pay attention you'll be just fine!
Ms. Lombardi is very nice, but if you have an opinion that disagrees with hers its completely wrong. She would mark down my grades because my beliefs conflicted with hers which I thought was unprofessional. Tell her what she wants to hear and shes a nice lady who grades easy.
Does not grade assignments in a reasonable time and give vague feedback if she even replies. I will try to avoid her classes in the future. 500 word discussion post and 500 word peer post.
shes ok. she deffinitely has favorites and makes it obvious. tests are super hard. but you can have your notes with you. if you see her in her office for help, she'll give you attitude. takes forever to post the grades online. offers extra credit.
Professor Lombardi lectures for a bit but makes it more interesting than other professors. The class has a few class projects, weekly quizzes that arent bad, as well as a few papers, but is a pretty easy grader. It is a lot of work but is spread out. Overall, I highly recommend taking her. If you have questions, refer to the syllabus or just ask
One of the worst teachers at harper. She's hypocritical and her attitude is abysmal. She teaches one way to run a class, but runs hers like it's the 80's. Boring lectures, unclear assignments, and snarky responses. What's not to like? Learned nothing from the class. At least I got the credits. Take anyone else. (the book is free online btw!)
Would not recommend.
She's not my favorite professor I've taken. She's very confusing on what to do for assignments. She's very funny and nice but just overall her class was okay.
Professor Lombardi is nice and pretty understanding. Asynchronous class. Tests are all multiple choice. She also offered 3 extra credit opportunities. Sometimes I thought she was a little unclear with what she wanted but she's always willing to help you out & answer any questions you have. She would usually respond within 36 hrs.
Since we are online she posts all the lessons for the whole semester ahead of time so people can get their stuff done early, but can be very rude and definetly picks favorites. So many group projects for being online and everyone being on different schedules which is a little ridiculous and can be a hard grader and does not really give good feedbac
Really tough grader even in completely online mode
I had her for an online course and did not have any problems with her! She grades quickly provide feedback on assignments and the weekly discussion boards! Pay attention to due dates, but they typically are due when said. The hardest part was understanding what she wanted for a few assignments! Overall, great professor!! Take her!
I liked professor Lombardi was an okay teacher. You need to put effort into the class in order to get a good grade. There are discussion boards due every Thursday and she expects good paragraphs with quotes from our textbook in each one. Couple papers are assigned, but she gives a clear grading criteria that helps with what to u are expected to do.
I liked Professor Lombardi. Discussion boards every week, some type of paper almost every other week, and 3 exams which were not hard if you study. A group project at the end, which is pretty easy. You need to put effort into all the work to get a good grade. Lombardi graded assignments quickly and gave only a little feedback to some assignments.
She was a pretty good professor. Discussion post every week as well as a 15 question quiz and other assignment such as group projects, reflections, etc. Easy class if you do every homework assignment. Answers emails fast compared to other teachers. Nice and easy to talk to. Reading chapters are kind of long but easy to understand. I would pick her!
Prof Lombardi's assignments are confusing and lack specifics. She takes several days to respond to emails, and when she does she's not very helpful. She grades tough. You can follow all instructions to a T and she still finds reasons to take off points. The bullying group project was tough, the class was all online, and my group mates were lazy.
Nice teacher! She knows what she's doing and is even charge of the Education department. She does respond back to email fairly quickly which is a plus about her if you have any questions or concerns that come up at anytime. She cares about her students and wants to see you succeed in her class. Take her if you have the opportunity to do so!
This professor is great and really cares about students learning and their education. This class had 3 essays, weekly quizzes & discussion posts, 2 exams, and 1 project! She sometimes gives feedback, but not always. Discussion posts have to be based on rubric or you will get points taken off. She does not really care that you have other classes.
oh my goodness! after the first week I had to double check to make sure I signed up for a 200 level college level course and not a 600 level grad class with the amount of work and expectations for this class. Save the stress and take this class somewhere else.
I would stay away from this Professor if possible. She is a hard grader, even more so she is one that just takes off points to take off points. She does not give good feedback and the work load is heavy. Even if you follow the guidelines, she will stay take off points. She isn't very friendly or understanding either, so beware!
Took Ms. Lombardi bc she was the only professor available for EDU 220. My grade just went from 95% to 80% bc she's THAT tough of a grader. She just takes points off to take them off. 3 tests (THIS IS THE EASY PART) not to hard, D.C boards every week , 7 papers TOUGHEST GRADER I'VE EVER HAD, 1 group project. A's & high B's in every class but HERS.
She's the Best!!! Wish I had all year round, She remembers your name! Even though she has other classes. I had her this semester for two, lucky me. I love how organized, detailed in explaining debriefs and communicates with her class. She is accessible to answer questions and meets with you. It felt like I was @campus with her professionalism.
I first had Mrs.Lombardi in my education and diversity class. I wasn't much of a fan of her because she is such a tough grader. I originally was going to take a different teacher for this course but that class ended up getting canceled. My view point has changed. Mrs.Lombardi is an amazing and caring teacher but get ready to work your tush off!!
The class was not mandatory but was is a big discussion class. Lots of writing assignments but they were due at the end of the week so there was enough time to get them done. She was very tough on having the correct quotes and sources to prove your points in essays. Over all not a bad class.
Best professor at Harper. The classwork seems easy at first glance, but you will learn new things. E-textbook used is a great tool for studying as you can choose to listen to the book while doing chores and is available offline as you read without internet service. The material is relevant to modern times & issues face in your career.
Professor Lombardi was fairly difficult to work with this semester. She does not accept any late work under any circumstances and is an incredibly harsh grader. She has very high expectations that are hard to meet, and overall, I dreaded completing assignments for her class the entire semester. I would never take another class with her.
Professor Lombardi was so easy going and allowed room for mistakes. She responds to emails very quickly and is always so sweet. She has clear instructions on what needs to be completed for the week. There is a good amount of papers and projects but that's with every education course. She is a pretty easy grader as well.
I took EDU 211 in 8 week summer class. There' s a TON of work which is to be expected in an 8 week course. She can be rude in her comments when grading. She is very clear on all her directions and always emails back quickly with any questions you may have. She can be intimidating, but I learned a lot from her. Get ready to do a lot of work .
Used to be my favorite education professor, but not anymore. She is very rude in her comments and looks for anything to take points off especially in her discussions. I found myself having a hard time wanting to come to class because my best was not enough. Don't take her if anything. She is a very TOUGH grader. You will have a HARD time!
I don't know why people rate her low. Best education teacher out of the whole faculty, if you're on the fence about which professor to choose, make sure its Professor Lombardi. Heavy on papers, but is very accommodating with corrections and due dates. As long as you keep in touch through email and come to class, it'll be a smooth semester for you.
One of the best teachers I've had in an education class, CHOOSE PROFESSOR LOMBARDI. Assignments always have clear expectations set but she can be picky on grading sometimes, however it makes you pay more attention to detail with assignments. Group Project, lectures and discussions, and heavy on papers. All around a great course to take with her.
A lot of work, and she can grade tough but over all this class is not very difficult.
There was a lot of work for this course, but most of it was based on short readings, videos, and personal experiences. It's a great class for non-education majors too! The materials the professor chose show very interesting perspectives. Very inspirational and organized. The assignments aren't hard, but make sure to read the rubric for full credit.
Professor Lombardi runs a challenging but rewarding class. Lots of writing assignments, but clear grading criteria. Engage with the material and use study tools like unstuckstudy, and you'll do well. Not an easy A, but worth the effort.
Had her for past 2 semesters, EDU 201 and 211, and loved her! She has a fun personality and is great at teaching. The assignments are clear, but make sure you stay on top of your work, because sometimes it can feel like it is a lot. However, she is very accommodating and caring. Typically 3 assignments due a week, plus 4 exams throughout semester.
This teacher was great! She was so kind and easy grader and didn't provide much work
