This was one of the best class I've taken at Central so far. Wyman is a very laid back guy. He assigns a lot of homework but extensions are given all the time. If you want to be in a class that is fun and alive, then please..Take this course! Jeb is the coolest professor you'll ever have.

Gives a lot of homework but is fairly fair. I didnt do my final paper or one of the assignments and he gave me a 3.3. He does a lot of grammar worksheets. Nice guy and you'll learn a lot. Not a bird course.

Fun and laid back guy. Gives out a lot of writing/reading assignments each week, but extension are given out generously. If you want to interact and bond with your classmates, take this course. Lots of fun for an ENG class. Wyman really takes his time to get to know his students! He even takes 10 mins out on Mondays to hear about student's weekend.

It's not the easiest class, but you can get what you paid for. He is a very interesting guy, and he appreciates innovative ideas. Great teacher.

Jeb throws the class into the world of journalism from day one. The required text is actually a handbook that Jeb compiled, and only costs about $12. If you are into journalism, then take this class. If you aren't, take it anyway.

I love this class. Although there is pretty many homework, u learn a whole lot. He is very friendly and give you the encouragement to write.

He is a very cool guy and helpful. I really learned a lot from him. He's not easy-grading, but if you work hard, you'll get what u pay for. He gave a lot of homeworks but also gave out extensions all the time. If you go to school for really learning and not solely for grades, take his class! Highly recommend!!!

Great guy, manages to make a required gen. ed. credit into something actually interesting. Very hard though - a lot of homework and very fast paced. Even though I got an F, I still enjoyed the class (other than the homework). I got the F because I am a terrible writer, not because Jeb can't teach.

Really good teacher! Must take his class! English is not my subject, but enjoyed his class a lot. He critiques well and really helps you with grammar. Not too hard, just put your best effort and you'll be fine :)

I have had an amazing experience in this class. The material is refreshing and challenging and his curriculum is great for building sound critiques. I have grown so much as a writer because of this class.THANK YOU JEB However, some people think they can get by without doing the work or comming to class. Jeb is a great tool for sharpening skills!

Omg! This is my paradise time in Fall Quarter! He's really helpful teacher. U can have many chance to rewrite as u want! He will spend a lot of time on your rewrite and main assignment! The best English teacher that i have ever known in Seattle Central Community College! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Syllabus may look stressful at first impression: there 6 major assignments and 10 minor assignments. But he is lenient and cannot keep track of his time so most assignments get postponed =). Good learning experience, greatly build up your writing skills. Humorous. Understanding. Easy to get 3.5 or higher.

Jeb was amazing. Although we had a lot of assignments, they were very interesting. We read essays and articles and responded to them, so you could just say your opinion and get full credit! The longer essays were fun to write as well. He made the class fun and personal. He was also very understanding when I was ill, and allowed me a lot of slack :)

I learned a lot from him. He is a knowledgeable teacher but he doesnt teach much. We often have workshop, group work or panel or cancelled classes. He is sometimes biased to some students. It is also hard to ask him questions since he is too busy and rarely replies emails.

Jeb Wyman, hands down, the best english teacher in SCCC. Probably the state as well. He's so, so helpful, and unlike many teachers, he's not burnt out. he LOVES writing and is so kind. Gives great comments on papers and such a hoot. I really love Jeb and his class. Highly reccomend taking a class from him.

Jeb is an amazing teacher! His class isn't easy but if you do all the work you'll pass. He gives back great comments of writing and it was common for me to get my paper back with a million mistakes pointed out but an A for a grade. He gives great commentary and guidance. Best in the school by far!

Jeb is one my fave profs! He is sincere in what his students have to offer and interested in what they have to say. He is patient and very willing to help. He tends to extend due dates. It's work, but so worth it. I had so much fun in his class. The class was actually sad when the quarter ended!

Jeb is such a good teacher. Assignments & classes are always interesting. The work load isn't light, but seriously all you have to do is just get your work done to do good in his class. He offers really helpful feedback, but I do agree with the other comments that it's often hard to read. Jeb is just awesome. Take his class!

If you don't like Jeb, there is something wrong with you. He's easy going & attentive to what people have to say. He is best at helping students value their own work - the scribbles will grow on you by the end of the the quarter. He won't hold your hand. Do the work, show up and you will pass.

Great teacher. I'm international student but I've learned a lot from him and my writing skill made a huge progress. I receive a 4.0, which is very amazing. He's pretty easy, unlike the requirements he wrote in his syllabus

Mr Wyman was one of the best teachers I've had at SCCC. He kept class interesting and always seemed interested in his students. I really appreciated how he didnt use a text book but takes the time to make his own. That's amazing!

I was pretty surprised at the workload of this class- it's required that you write 3 poems, 10 pages worth of short stories, and a dramatic scene, on top of work out of the reader. While I had some difficulty getting the work out on time, I felt that the assignments helped me grow. Jeb is good with the students and passionate as well.Thank you Jeb!

The most awesome teacher I've ever learnt with. He is friendly , helpful , easy-going , kindhearted , knowledgeable. You can submit your works whenever you want , just before finals. His grading focuses on the content of your writing and the grammar structure, and it is relatively accurate.

Pretty straight forward ENG101 class. I thought the assignments tied in very well to the weekly readings, and were all of general interest to me. Prof did a real good job of accounting for wide range of skill levels in the class. Some topics though, that should have been wrapped up in one class period, would often spill into two or three.

This class was really easy, but a lot of writing...its an English class, duh. He is really laid back about getting work in on time and since we got behind, he just canceled the last few assignments. This was by far my fav class this quarter and Jeb is amazing! Plus he's hot :)

The best teacher you will have in SCCC, very chill and great personality. A nice guy and a great class. Just make sure to show some interest in his class and turn in all of your assignments. The due dates aren't strict and neither is attendance, but please, don't make it seem like you don't care about his class!

he is good. if you work hard , you will get a good grade (even though you are not native speaker. I took English 101 and 102 with him. I am sure you will pass this class if you follow the ways he teachs. ask question if you don't understand.

He is one of the best teacher I've ever seen. He does not give a lot of work but his research paper takes much of work throughout the quarter. His class is very fun and interesting. He will give as much time as you need to help to improve inside and outside the class. Take his class without thinking.

My experience in his class was amazing. He helped open up my world perspective by pushing me to look at my research subject in a much broader and far reaching way. I left his class feeling accomplished, capable, and proud of myself, and I have Jeb to thank for that.

He's a great prof! Highly intellectual. If you want to learn and study hard, his class is a must! However, it's not an easy class. He pushes and gives lots of assignment each week besides the research paper stuff. If you work hard and do well on both your research presentation and paper, no worries. You get to socialize w ur classmates too :)

I took his creative nonfiction class; it was such a refreshing course. I found it challenging, in a good way, especially as someone who enjoys the art of storytelling. I appreciate that he took time to mentor me as I was writing. He is both positive and helpful. Take Wyman's class for your English credits, you will enjoy his teaching style.

Jeb is a great professor. He truly cares about his students. I felt very comfortable sharing my work with him. Jeb even gave all of his students copies of a book he edited, for free! The only difficult thing about his creative writing class is that sometimes I felt like an awful writer. Prepare to be amazed by your peers!

Jeb will make you push yourself to become a greater writer. He grades tough and wants to be taught something new. I learned a lot in this class, but every weekend you have quite a bit of research work to do. Handful of group projects as well. There were no test or quizzes.

Professor Wyman really cares about his students, and will help you suceed with great feedback and you can always see him after class if you need help. His classes are laid-back, have great dicusions, and are very engaging. Show up to class, participate, do the assignments, and you''ll do just fine in the class. Also he is very understanding!!

Jeb is a nice professor. I think I was doing well in his class. Beside, Jeb cares student's idea than grammar. But you would better doing well in both.

Jeb is a great teacher. Hes caring and doesnt lecture boringly to the class but instead utilizes other methods to teach. Great professorId recommend any of his classes to my peers.

Jeb is hands-down the best instructor I have ever had. On the surface, it looks like he doesn't teach much because his lectures are more like a personal conversation with each student. In reality, he is getting to know each person and crafting a unique world tailored to us. We walked in as apathetic college students and walked out as a family.

I took ENG 101, and ENG 102 with Jeb classes, and it was Wonderfull. Jeb is a great instructor and understands his students. He will support you how to think critically, and he wants you to work hard to get a good grade. If you need help he is available at noon every day. As a former ESL student, he makes me love English.

This instructor changed everything about my education and influenced my choice of major. He will push you to be the best version of 'you'. He is kind, open-minded, respectful, and pretty humorous too. No one loves as much as what they do than Jeb does, and it rubs off on his students. It'll be the best choice you'll make at Central.

Professor Wyman was a wonderful professor. While I wasn't in an in-person class, each assignment I completed he gave me excellent feedback, that helped me to further improve my writing. This class is quite a bit of reading and a lot of writing, yet it is all manageable and engaging if you like writing and stay on top of your work.

Jeb Wymans class was amazing. He gives amazing feedback and cares for every student. The work in the class is very interesting and the class is engaging. He doesnt care much about late work and cares for you as a student. He is also quite humorous and his class didnt even feel like class. Definitely would take this class again. 10/10 class.

Wyman was one of the best professors I've ever had. Just put effort into your papers and he will always appreciate your work and give you good grades. His lectures can feel long but they are interesting. He's inspirational and it feels like a learn-learn relationship as he loves learning new things from your papers.

I took his ENGL& 101 class at the start of the pandemic in spring 2020. He was super understanding of and difficulties that students were having and giving them extensions or helping them to finish something they were struggling with. Overall super supportive and understanding and encouraging.

I took his class in Winter 2020 and it's still my favorite class of all time. Jeb is an amazing professor that really cares about and motivates students to learn. It is easy to get an A in his class, but I don't value my grade in that class as much as what I did in it. You just need to pick a research topic that you really like and you'll enjoy it.

I admire how much Professor Wyman cares about his classes. He gives great feedback, but be prepared for a LOT of assignments. You'll have a hard time relaxing with this course. He assigns so much work that it's hard to focus on one assignment at a time without feeling the need to scramble to get everything else done. Luckily he's a forgiving grader

literally the best teacher ive ever had. he has a unique way of teaching. its not reading and writing only like other teachers. He gets to know his students really well and help them write. works with you on a personal level and even helps you get to know your self. loved this class!!

I took his creative writing. Jeb Wyman is an amazing writer himself and motivates students to do their best work. He is so kind and passionate about being a teacher. He gives great feedback, and compliments as well. My favorite class I've taken in college so far.

Professor Wyman gives great feedback and I've learned a lot from him. Make sure to pick a topic you are very interested about for your essay.

You can tell he's a very caring teacher and he gives constructive and specific feedback. He clearly cares and knows a lot about what he teaches. He genuinely is interested in his students works. He's very flexible with late assignments but there are a lot of them along with 15 page research paper. Make sure you plan your time well.

You really need to work in this class, otherwise, you won't get a good grade. Prof. Wyman wants his students to improve and he provides detailed feedback if you need to focus on specific aspects. There's also a big paper due at the end of the quarter so it's better to start working from the beginning.

Amazing teacher. Assigns a decent amount of work, but they are easy to do if you put in effort. Lets you submit work super late. Gives awesome feedback and is just a great, great teacher. Take this class if you can.

The best English class I have ever taken. I would highly recommend professor Wyman if you want challenge your critical thinking and have fun in the process. His class was really inspirational and creative. He is also very supportive and care for his students.

Mr.Wyman is the first one you should consider taking for both 101 and 102, especially for 102, the only purpose is a very long research paper, this requires a lot of work however, it will be divided into several parts and there is nothing I could complain about him, he is hilarious, inspirational, all comments are clear, one by one !!

Jeb is literally my favorite teacher I have ever had. I've grown a lot as a writer in 2 classes with him, but most importantly he is one of the most thoughtful and caring people.

He is really nice and you can tell he cares about your learning. He gives good feedback and takes the time to answer your questions.

I recommended professor Wyman to all the people I know, and like me none of them had any regrets. Is not just about his interesting topics, but the techniques he uses will make you want to learn more. If anyone has a problem with his class, I believe you are the problem.

Cannot recommend his class more! Such a caring guy, really wants you to succeed. Gives AMAZING feedback specific to your essays. Workload is not too bad, and he helps guide you through the research paper.

Wyman is very kind and generous. He really cares about writing & giving positive feedback. The only complaints I have are: his class is unnecessary to show up for (all real learning is on Canvas), his class didn't make my writing stronger, and it seems like everyone got an A+ no matter what (I never knew if i was doing *actual* good work or not).

My favorite course that I've ever taken. Jeb gave great feedback on my writing, while also praising what he thought I did well. I normally dread discussion posts, but the prompts for the discussions were genuinely interesting and often made me want to write more than the required amount. I made probably my best projects out of any class from this.

He is one of the best teachers I've had so far! As an immigrant, his coursework also helped me better understand the culture, which I truly appreciate!!!
