Internet Class is Soooooooooooo Easy

If you gonna take his class, u have to be prepared to study on ur own, u won't get any help from him. His lectures are very unclear, he spent all the time explaining the homework that we can check in his site online.
Took the 8wk class and he is not very helpful!
Ashley is very knowledgable in the field of accounting adn definitely knows what he is doing. However he tends to lack the ability of wanting to help his students.
Whatever you do dont take this class!
He is such a nice guy, although he doesn't really teach anything in the class, you can ask him whatever you want!
He is the coolest professor. I loved his lectures, he is very entertaining. I took him for both Financial and Managerial Accounting and everyone in our group recieved an A . The Managerial class is much harder than the other class.
He is lazy, and counts on you to learn his entire class from a cd.
He is a cool guy; however, he teaches nothing in the class, u have to study yourself. His test is really hard and include the stuff that he didn't go over in the class.
Very hard class. I took both Financial and Managerial. He is funny and knowledgable, but the class is very difficult, hard tests.

He is a very nice guy. I took the class where he used the CDs to teach, which he's not doing any more. If you study for his test for atleast one day, you'll past. You don't have to show up for any of the classes, and if you need help, he there.
The teacher is great. Time flies in this class. He's helpful and laid back. Don't take accounting with anyone else.

WOW!!! is all i can say. hes THE WORST TEACHER i have ever had in my grossmont college career! his class is very difficult and you cant even understand what he is saying. I took Math 178(CALCULUS) and got an A, but i dropped Bus 120 with this teacher!
would not teach anything at all and would expect you to read the chapters and make sense in your own. now you do all the understanding your self if you can
At first the homeworks are a little overwhelming. Make sure to do them and the quizzes for the extra credit. Tests are not too dificult, he offered 2 retests Fall '03 semester to the people who did poorly on the first 2 tests.

Oh wow this was bad. I never understood what he was trying to say and the second that i did he went off on some story that had noting to do w/ accounting. VERY hard teacher to understand. If you can learn by just reading a book,take this guy, if not.....
For and accounting class its easy. As a class in general it is hard. Do not expect to get an A unless you are very gifted. I worked my but off for a B. He is very direct on what you need to know, but he will only show you how to do it just once!

HE LET US RETAKE THE FIRST EXAM BECAUSE EVERYONE FAILED. HIS TEACHING AND LECTURES GET BETTER AS THE SEMESTER GOES ON. STUDY THE BOOK AND YOU'LL DO FINE.
If you ACTUALLY do the H.W. you will do good in his class. He is a very nice guy and willing to help with any problems you have. For an accounting class I found it enjoyable and his tests are pretty easy. Make sure you read the book though.Hot storyteller
He seems bored with the subject matter because he knows it so well, but because he knows it so well, he cruises right thru it. Exams are tough unless well studied for. Always bring a calculator.
This teacher is very old, slow, and boring. He teaches stuff in a weird way that is hard to understand, at least for me. Good luck..
Great professor, he teaches the material in an easy to understand matter. Read the book, do the hw, no reason why anyone shouldnt pass the class. The old man gives good real life examples, and is very wise.
Very clear teacher, talks slow for all you foreigners. If you are good at econ/accounting type classes you should get an A, just do the homework, which is easy.

I don't see how anyone can call this guy a bad teacher. The material is hard, but information is basically spoon fed.
I wouldn't recommend to anyone to take his class during the 8 week session. Rough material and he doesn't use his time wisely to explain everything that I would have preferred. You basically teach yourself in his class.
Tests are very hard, doesnt let you use notes, class seems very long/boring. Not very clear when explaining material. Homework due everyweek, grades homework like a test. Only easy part of this class was online quizes. Other than that this class will prob be your hardest class/most time consuming..
Mr. Ashley tries to break down Financial accounting the easiest way he can for his students. The info is pretty straight forward. The test can be hard if you haven't done the homework and some online test. Otherwise he's an okay teacher Don't miss lectures or you'll miss out on how to do statements etc that the book doesn't break down as easily
His explanation is very unclear and weird. Even though I studied a lot, i could not pass his class. Dont take his class! His class is so bored and it is just wasting of your time.
Ashley is a sarcastic son of a B$tch but a great teacher. The class is challenging but with some effort anybody can get an A. Study the problems at the end of the chapters because they resemble the tests. Lets you retake a test and drops the two lowest quiz grades.

Took Him for both my accounting classes before transferring to State. If you don't study and can't add and subtract, you won't do well in his class. You won't do well in any class for that matter. People who want to learn and have fun, take Jed. He's a great teacher.
He is a good tacher and alwyas avaliable, but his tests are hard. I suggest a study group and a partner to help you get through the class. There are a lot of quizes and tests but he does drop your worst score. He is alwyas willing to help as long as you are willing to learna and work.
. He doesn't curve, but when only 10% of the classroom is passing a B I think this guy should "reconsider" curving. I mean come on Mr. Ashely the least it would do is make you work harder on explaining in class that will improve the 10% B's and 60% D's. And please correct me if I am wrong.
In my opinion Jed has been teaching so long that he rushes throught the materials because he knows it like the back of his hand, and expects the student to keep up! I dont' know how I passed this class. Overall I liked Jed.. sarcasm and all!!

Sarcastic? Yes & degrading, rude, evil. We all have to study for a good grade. But being rude to your students, not a good teacher. Don't take him..he will ruin your spirit..if you let him. +50% of the students fail. Why? Students dont want to put up w/a teacher you has rude snotty responses. Take Schulman! He's the best.
Jed is possibly the hardest teacher I have ever had. His teaching does not align with the tests. His online quizes are very hard and the homework can take hours. He is only teaching for another semester so just avoid him Spring 06.
Unsupportive smartass who takes pleasure in demeaning students. The class was way harder than it needed to be because Jed made it so. If you get stuck with this guy, I suggest relying on private tutoring to make it through.

Accounting is not an easy class to begin with, but his method was very straight foward. the exams are hard, but if you do the homework and quizzes there are no surprise questions. This class is not as bad as others make it seem.
Dude, these classes are seriously hard and require tons of work. I went to www.mycollegepost.com and found an awesome tutor at SDSU to help me. If you want to get through these classes with decent grades the first time around, I recommend this strategy.
Accounting is a super hard class. I got an A but i had to put in extra hard hours. The professor has a unique style but he only teaches whats on the exam. there are 12 quizes but he drops your 2 lowest. The teacher is good but beware of the amount of studying you have to put in

This is the worse instructor I have ever come in contact with and I already have an associates degree. He uses class time to talk about things that are not class related. He heartless and tackless, he insults people. I don't know why Grossmont continues to employ him. Bad judgment on their part. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Jed Ashley is a nice guy, and a pretty good professor, but this class is incredibly difficult! You have to put in a ton of study hours if you want to pass. I HIGHLY recommend getting a tutorer early on.
