very good in any science and alway willing to help you with your work.
I really enjoyed his class. He is a great communicator. He will stay after class and explain anything you don't understand. I would highly recommend him especially if you are a non-science major.
A wonderful addition to AVC. Mr. Lobos knows his stuff and wants you to get a handle on the basics of Biology as well. Very helpful to those who have been out of the science loop. Hint to those learn mitosis, miosis, and the Kerbs cycle.LOL He's a blast, makes science bearable.
very good teacher. mostly straight forward, really wants the students to succeed. i would recommend jedi lobos to everyone.
Jedi is extremely knowledgeable. He can answer any question tossed his way. Willing to stay and help all of the students. Wants his class to succeed! He is a fabulous asset to AVC. He made Micro fun. He is honest and only expects you to know what he already knows.
Know everything in his lecture notes. Demands alot from students. He is very Inmature but of course knows micro. I would not recommend him. He has a big EGO!!!!!!

Hardest class I have ever taken, but he is fair, and he really knows what he's talking about..."slightly" tempermental. FOLLOW THE STUDY GUIDE!!!!
If you are interested in biology this professor is not for you. Testing very hard. has a wonderful personality and is very helpful. I really liked this teacher and learned alot from him.
Jedi Lobos was the most intense and passionate instructor I've ever had. Biology has never been this fun, yet so difficult. I recommend you take his course only if you plan to learn the material and can attend every class. He's more than willing to stay after to explain concepts and subject matter.
Jedi is a hoot, truely a goofball, he's just a big kid. Really knows how to show you things in a way to understand it, if you still don't get it he will help you until you do. Your going to work really hard, but feel true success. He is an amazing teacher. I hated bio before him, now its my major.
Ignore the reviews, what you are seeing is a demographic that didn't drop, to be honest if I had not had a grant i would have dropped. Do not take this class, even if you like biology, reasons being is that there is no diversity in assignments, 3 hard tests nothing fun, the lab requires a lot of writing, too involved for a general ed requirment
I took him this past summer..BEST teacher ever! all you have to do is STUDY STUDY STUDY...In our class we had a lot of joking around which made the class fun and he uses students for examples to explain some type of process. I highly recommend him
AMAZING!!! Okay I'll be honest if you want to breeze by Bio don't take Jedi. If you really want to learn something wow this is your teacher. He'll get you to the top and prep you for life. He is one of the best teachers at AVC! Thank you Jedi
Mr. Lobos is the BEST teacher I have ever had. He really knows his stuff and he is great at teaching it. If you hate learning Bio then don't take him. His tests are extremely hard but if you study whats on the study guide then you will be fine. He is an amazing teacher and I'm glad I took him for Bio.. I actually learned something! :)
Jedi is awesome. Do not take if you want an easy ride. He'll be sure to slash you with his wolverine claws if you're not prepared for the lecture. STUDY STUDY. You'll learn alot. Funny man.
He's not good if you want to pass a class, but good if you just want to learn. He can be fun at times but also has a tendency to unconsciously make students feel stupid when giving quizzes. Also, he practically expects students to memorize everything he says and his study guides tend to be vague.
STUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOES NOT GIVE MC TEST OR QUIZES
I had absolutely NO interest in this subject, and I still don't.Jedi is not an easy teacher, but is very clear about what he expects from his students. His study guides are exactly what is on the test.Very helpful, takes time to help his students, had several study sessions and offers extra help.He doesn't want to fail his students.STUDY!
Mr Lobos makers biology interesting, never a boring class, even the labs are very fun. he manages to explain in simple terms what the book says.i am glad i am in his class.
If you are the kind of person that likes to study the night before the exam, do NOT take Lobos. He wants exams in full detail (he does not give out Multiple Choice tests). He is a wonderful professor who likes what he is teaching. If you need the extra help, do not hesitate to ask him. His study guides are very helpful.
Jedi is the business. I truly enjoyed going to his class. He likes to get to know his students on a personal level which is refreshing. His exams are difficult, but pass-able. Just study and you'll be fine.
MR.Lobos first does come out as intimidating. But overall is the best Lecture teacher I ever had. He gives out so much extra credit, organizes study sessions(A Must Attend He Gives Answers that are on the test), study guides and he provided you with slides and videos on his website. He will answer all your questions until he knows you understand.
Prof. Lobos...it's as if he's the lovechild of Bill Nye the Science Guy and George Lopez since he's both knowledgable in his field and that he could be silly at the same time. However, he's notoriously known for having HIGH expectations, so in order to "survive" Bio. 101 Lecture, you need to know the lectures and you need to S-T-U-D-Y!
Lobos is one of the best teachers ive had at AVC! He explans everything in a way that isnt hard to understand, gives you study guides w exactly what will be on the tests. Offers lots of extra credit as pop ?s in lectures & lab, so know the stuff. His tests arent easy but i got an A in his class. Took him for lab&lecture. Great teacher, loved him <3
Lobos is a great professor. I took him for Lab and for someone who slacked A LOT in this subject i learned so much from him. VERY helpful and lenient. You cant go wrong with him
He was the best teacher I had at AVC. It's a hard class, but he will inspire to do your best. Follow his advices, and you will learn a lot , and get a good grade. He will help you to raise your standards, and to succeed in the class. HE IS THE BEST, and you will learn for him. A+
50% of the class dropped. The tests are essay and timed.Stupid stuff might be worth points, like the sylabus.I busted my butt for a B. Take Nissani
DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN'S ClASS. Unless you want to do honor's course work, and not get honors course credit. Test are essays. The good ratings are obviously him rating himself. I got a B but worked like a mule for it. We had a test question that was 3 pages long...if you see his name on the course schedule, RUN FOR YOUR ACADEMIC LIFE!
Although I will admit that he treats this class as if it were BIO 110, I am glad to have had him as a professor. Prof. Lobos is entertaining and knows his material like the back of his hand. I have learned so much material in his class than I have ever walked away with in my previous courses combined. Prof. Lobos is an amazing professor, take him!
he certainly knows biology! he's very helpful and knowlegeable...but yo have to study!!!A LOT!!! Great teacher over-all...highly recommended!
He is the best teacher I had since germany. I would love to have him as a teacher in all my classes. He loves what he s doing and he wants the students to learn. Awesome teacher !!!!!!!
He is the best teacher I had since germany. I would love to have him as a teacher in all my classes. He loves what he s doing and he wants the students to learn. Awesome teacher !!!!!!!
If you're lazy and don't like to work, don't take Lobos. He hates laziness and he'll call you out on it. He's honest and give it to you straight. His clarity on subjects is great, he definitely knows his biology. Extremely approachable and helpful. If you're a slacker, do not take him. You and your grade will suffer.
Lobos really is a great teacher, he knows his stuff and his class was really interesting. One word of advice from me, PAY ATTENTION. do your labs and try hard, he is a hard teacher. Read labs before class, there is a quiz. He hates laziness. If you work your butt off you will pass, too bad I dropped,if I were to ever take lab again, it would be wit
Loved this guy, so easy going and easy to talk to. Just show that you are really trying your hardest and improving and you will get a good grade. He loves for you to ask questions and he also likes to ask them right answers usually earn extra credit so pay attention :).
Definitely recommend this teacher for people who aren't lazy or slackers. His class isn't that hard but requires you to do at least some work. He's really funny, easy going, and understanding. Tries to make it fun and easy for everyone in Lab.
Biology has always been my least favorite subject, and science in general just isn't a strong point for me. But, Mr. Lobos is a very thorough teacher, and I appreciate the consistency of his teaching method. If you need to take Biology as a General Ed. class, try to get his Lab, or even Lecture at least. He made Biology enjoyable for me.
Mr. Lobos is hard but man o man he sure can teach!!!! I think im going to pass his class with a B.. if you're not the studying type, take someone else. But youre missing out on laughter and learning!!! Hes great! take him!
Lobos was amazing! Made Biology fun and interesting. He is a touch instuctor, but makes it not seem so hard because he it very thorough. Definitly recommend!
Class was the hardest class I ever took at AVC. The teacher's tests are just HARD, I never studied so hard in my life. He doesn't like laziness but OH MEE GEE, his class took up the bulk of my times. I had 4 other classes and this is the one that I was killing myself over.
I couldn't say how grateful I am to have had the privledge to be Jedi's student. He is truely gifted & has a deep abiding passion for Science that is revealed through his teaching. He sets the bar high & makes learning a challenge that is beneficial to you & your future science courses. Jedi is an Awesome Pro.I hope to have this privledge again soon!
Jedi is the best! I took his lecture and I understood things that I didn't before, he's really passionate in the BIO field. What ever you do, TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES. Be ready to hit the ground running. Study lecture 2 you'll see it all semester long :)He is so helpful!!!! TAKE HIM!!!!
Jedi is Awesome! He is very helpful, clear, and can pretty much give an example for everything. He knows his stuff! He is also very funny. I got an A in his class without the book. Just take good notes and study. Its not as hard as it seems. I would definitely take his class again. Highly recommended.
Jedi knows what he's talking about. Hes really smart and very helpful. When he offers his time, take it. He really loves what he does and wants his students to succees but wont give you anything you dont deserve. My only regret is that i didnt give more time to studying. BE PREPARED from day 1. Bring your syllabus everyday. TURN OFF your cell!
jedi is a really knowledgeable teacher he really knows his science! he made lab very interesting with his countless "stories" I've learned more in his class then I have ever learned in any other classes I have taken at avc. he doesn't like laziness. he is very helpful giving some extra credit and willing to meet with students so just ask questions
Best teacher I have ever had and probably ever will have. He is tough, so don't be lazy. Study! "Know everything." He knows his material and is very helpful. His class was fun yet I learned so much. He has prepared me for my other bio classes and I appreciate him so much. Other bio teachers at AVC don't even match up to him. He's the best!
Mr.Lobos made the classroom enviroment fun and interesting with his humor. He can have such a humor, however, he also means business. The best advice I have is to just listen to him and follow directions and you will be A-okay. Somebody who is rude and doesnt follow directions, probably won't get far in his class, because he is NO push over.
He's honestly ?the worse teacher I have ever had. He's very pushy in comes off rude. He talks a lot about things that don't pretain to bio. I've found that his ego is huge. he is 1 of ?the worst teachers at Avc. He moves so fast that he doesn't realize people r trying to still get down 1 thing more he jumps into something totally different.
Jedi is really cool. The only thing I didn't like was he doesn't allow you to wear gloves in lab during dissection. Very unsanitary.
Professor Lobos? Luv him, my advice to u is to pay attention to what he says while going over the syllabus. Do ur notebook right away and prepare for next class right away. A quiz every beginning of class. They r easy if u read. He helped me understand many things. He's just awsome.
One of the best teachers ever! Excited about the subject and really went out of his way for students. Took it in the summer of 2013 and I'll be getting an A. You'll have to really work for the grade.
If you want to learn the fundamentals of biology, take Lobos. The man is on fire, is brilliant, and knows how to teach in a way that's relevant and interesting. He doesn't put up with any BS, and loves you if you're genuine and work hard. Held off-time study sessions and did everything he could to help us pass. I got an A, and worked my butt off.
Lobos is great. every class was fun, interesting and all of his stories were great and relevant. I only passed BIO 101 because of him and he was my lab instructor! but he broke things down understandable ways unlike my instructor. Highly recommend him. you'll learn a lot and have a lot of fun. He made me love biology
Lobos is a great teacher I loved going to his class. Without him I don't think I would understand biology at great great teacher and always funny fun class
Awesome instructor. Very entertaining and kept the class lively. Sometimes he gets too into his stories and cuts you short for time on the lab, but if you come prepared you will pass no problem. Would take his class again. Hopefully he will be teaching Micro when I get to it.
This professor is awesome! He is so passionate about biology and always has some life lesson story to go along with each lab. I truly enjoyed going to class each week it was actually fun! He can be hard on you at times but you learn so much from. Take him you wont regret it.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Really interesting and appreciates biology. He is always there to help his studets, I looked forward to going to lab each week, and he has the best stories each week that relate to biology and life. I highly recommend him as a biology professor.
Best teacher ever. I hated science but after taking his lab class I'm actually considering a career in the science field. You HAVE to do your best, it's not an "easy A". I looked forward to his class each week. I got an A in Bio101 solely because of him. He makes the most complicated concepts easy to understand.. Plus he's funny. Take his class!
I agree with the fact that he makes the course enjoyable. However, this teacher doesn't mess around. You either keep up with the lecture or pack your bags and go home. The grading structure is extreme much similar to the fundamentalist dr.rainbow. If you must take a biology class, I assume this is as good as it gets..
This professor is great and knows his stuff!! He is passionate and converts the material into layman's terms for you. You do have to work hard for that "A" though. Study hard, give him 100% and you'll be fine. And his tests are not multiple choice so study hard!
This teacher is awesome! He made me genuinely enjoy being at class. The material isn't terribly difficult (though no multiple choice tests is not ideal) and he really wants you to LEARN. I took the class over summer, which was harder, but I would still recommend this class. He wants to help you!
Lobos is a great teacher. He tells a lot of stories but they all pertain to bio. And he really funny. He doesn't play when it comes to work and as long as you are there for labs he provides all info needed. If it wasn't for me I wouldn't have passed my bio 101 lecture class. Highly recommended for lab
Jedi isn't clear on what he asks from students. Truly the worst on campus. Gives trick questions and essays.
Funny & nice, but don't let that fool you. 2midterms and a final, no multiple choice, short answer. He gives out study guides, study those and youll at least get a 50%more on tests. Hints (or plainly states) what he wants to see on tests. Expects u to print out notes, hard to follow along wo them, especially if trying to write them down
Lobos is a very good teacher! He will stay after class and go over things until you understand it. He is great for visual learners, really explains this well and uses visual examples! Hilarious and keeps class interesting! He makes you work for your grade though!
I couldn't have asked for a better Biology instructor. In high school I didn't do so well, but with Lobos, everything was so clear And easy! He made lectures interesting with personal experiences. He does expect good work from you in return, but I would definitely take him again.
Lobos is a good teacher but he tells TOOOO many stories. There were days where his stories would eat lab time and we had to stay extra time to finish. His philosophy is "if your going to take a course milk it for everything it has to give". He is willing to stay extra obviously but he also like helping in a way that promotes thinking.
First things first he does not play around ,but he is very helpful. Before every class he would ask what your lecture teacher are taching and from what you learned in lecture he makes a smaller lecture to fill you in if you didn't learn something or were edgy about it.
He's very nice and very helpful but this class is hard! You will pass with a good grade but you have to study and put in the time. There is a lot to remember and he gives you a lot of opportunities to get a good grade. I took him my first semester at AVC and I'm so happy I took him!
Amazing class, and an Amazing teacher. You have to work for your A.
Lobos is great, IF and only IF you're a bio major, he's passionate which is great but makes the class MUCH MUCH harder than it needs to be. Unless you're a bio major and actually need all this in detail avoid at all costs. So extra when it comes to test taking as well makes you spend $ on greenbooks just to collect them bc he's paranoid of cheaters
Jedi is hilarious and made Biology fun, at first... He revokes points on tests for ridiculous reasons (boxing instead of circling!), and has 30-60 point questions on tests that gaurentee you fail because he doesn't give partial credit. He expects too much out of his students.
Jedi is a good lecturer. He has passion for the subject matter and humorous anecdotes. BUT, his tests are very difficult and he doesn't allow student to bring any type of aid. He complains that students don't do well on his tests, but when 1 question is worth 1/2 of the total points, you should allow students to bring an index card to help them.
His lectures are great and very funny but this was so hard. His test are crazy hard and he expects you to know way too much. I would never take another class with him. I understand having high expectations for your students but his expectations are too high.
Jedi, as he is known to his students, is funny and laid-back, but don't confuse that with easiness. His exams are tough, but he gives study guides and you can get extra credit just by answering questions correctly in class. He likes to demonstrate biological concepts by having several students stand up and act them out, which is fun and helpful.
Lobos is such a great teacher he knows how to relate bio to stuff so it makes it so much easier to understand and remember he will tell you everything you need to know but his test are hard a couple questions are multiple choice then the rest are answers you have to write out yourself so you really remember take really good notes
He makes the course enjoyable, but his test are way too hard. A lot of students in my class failed the course. I would NOT recommend taking him.
Mr. Lobos is a true class act, one of the few teachers that actually made a difference in my life. He really pushes his students to be the best they can be, and his amazing lectures and real life stories really help you to understand biology. His tests aren't easy but he teaches you what you need to know, if you study you'll do fine.
I don't understand why he isn't a doctor, this man knows his stuff. I wouldn't mind being a bio major if he taught all of my classes, that's how great of an instructor I think he is. I took him in the summer so it consisted of: 3 tests, a couple quizzes (2 were take home; BRING FLASHCARDS), participation points. STUDY, write down everything!
If you can memorize entire lectures and every single detail then this is the class for you! Must memorize every single lecture in great depth (includes spelling). Expects a lot from students, tests and quizzes are not multiple choice. Gives study guide but it's pretty much entire lectures he wants you to know inside and out. Just run!
Tests are short answers and essay questions no multiple choice There was take home quizzes that were fairly easy. Deducts points off everyone's grade if someone's cellphone goes off during class. Offers extra credit during lectures but boy you gotta know your stuff before attending lecture. Overall he's very funny, great professor the class is hard
Jedi's a great guy, he can teach you the hardest of stuff, BUT, this was the hardest class my friend and I have ever taken. One frequent mistake (from a SOAR kid that would leave his phone on) costed us -50 points. Take my advice, read ahead on his lectures and know them like the back of your hand. Study beyond hard, and good luck, you'll need it.
Jedi's class was the first I've taken right out of high school. His lectures were always entertaining because of the stories he told. He gives extra credit like candy as long as you know your stuff. He seems like a nice guy, but don't let that fool you. His tests are REALLY HARD and almost my entire class failed. If you can, avoid taking his class!
At first I wasn't too sure of him. But after not doing so well on the first exam I stayed after class. He gives you all the feedback you need and is really good at getting back to emails and such! I recommend making your own flash cards to study. You need to be able to have written answers for all your tests and quizzes. Overall he was awesome.
Great class. Amazing lectures. Study for test.
His test are either hard or easy. You study, then there easy. You don't study, the test will be hard. That simple. So study (the correct way of studying).
Hilarious teacher, fun lectures, but super hard test even if you study he's a tough grater if you major is bio take him if your major its not bio dont take him.
His lectures were always entertaining and he's passionate about what he teaches. He deducts points off of everyone's grade if someone's phone goes off, which I think is a little unfair we shouldn't have to suffer for others mistakes. Tests are written answers. Gives honest and good feedback. Study lectures prior for a shot at extra credit.
Great Class he made biology easy to understand, applied all lectures to situations you can relate to. Was absolutely hilarious I never wanted to miss a class because he made me crack up! Test are very hard and makes you work for it. HE does however, give you a study guide and all class notes are available on his website. Would love to take again!
Jedi is such a great teacher. Slackers stay away, you will not survive his class. You will learn so much from him and he is willing to meet with you one on one if you need extra understanding. He's super funny and makes his lectures easy to listen to. If you study for the tests you will pass, if you don't study you'll fail- plain and simple.
I liked the fact that he used a lot of real life examples and experiences in explaining things. Because of this I felt like I could relate more.
Some of his quiz questions are not in the book rather in his slides that are not available online. Too long to answer his emails.
Jedi is one of the best professors I've had. The way he talks and presents the material is pretty engaging so its kept my attention. Jedi will stay late to help or answer any questions you might have. I'd recommend taking him.
Although he is a tough teacher to take, if you don't try you won't pass. The labs were pretty straight forward and he does go over a lot before you start labs so take plenty of notes. The notes will save you in his class so pay attention to his real life scenarios. He is also hilarious, the most down to earth teacher I've ever had.
if you don't study for tests you wont pass. I do not understand his lectures so i had to teach my self everything. his tests you have to memorize things exactly how they are or you will only get partial credit. no multiple choice everything is short answer.
Lobos is a great professor. When it comes down to it, you get what you put in. If you are focused and work hard this class will be fairly easy, but if you don't you will have a hard time. He is an inspirational instructor who genuinely wants his students to succeed. He is easy to talk to and he makes biology relatable and easy to understand.
Jedi is one of those rare college professors who actually cares that the students will have learned something when the course is over. His lectures are always interesting and he relates every topic to real life situations to make it easier to understand or remember. However, he makes you work hard for your grade--meaning you have to study A LOT.
Overall he is a witty , silly and a very interesting professor. Although he has a tendency to take out his personal moods onto unsuspecting students. His quizzes are all written , no multiple choice ever. His exams are written also. So either know the material or dont take his class.
Professor Jedi is a great professor , he is hilarious , he gives you his 100% And he expects that back from you. He makes sure you leave that class learning something and explains the material very well, also makes it easy to understand . Theres a lot of studying to do but he gives you study guides, if you don't pass it's because your lazy to read.
Lobos is an amazing teacher i truly recommend!! He's very fun and light-hearted and very comfortable to talk to. His tests are hard only if you dont study. He tells you what will be on it and as long as you do what he says you'll be fine! Use his office hours!
Im not going to lie - this was a tough class. You will pass as long as you study and LISTEN TO WHAT HE TELLS YOU TO DO. He will hand you this class if you follow his simple instructions. He really cares about his students and tries to make the class as easy as possible. Would recommend him.
If you think you'll pass the class with bare minimum work then don't bother taking Jedi. He has an intricate form of teaching the material and applies it to nearly everyday life. Jedi makes the subject interesting by using funny and witty examples that'll make you remember it. Overall I actually enjoyed his class and honored to be his student.
He is really an awesome professor! This was the hardest class I have ever had to take but biology is not very easy in general. If you have to take biology then take him! He really cares for his students&has honestly changed my life. He is straight up and real. Participation matters! Speak up/ voulenteer. Study the guide&go to after office hours!
Get ready to take this class, if not a bio major. You have to pass ALL his test with 80 or up and not multiple choice. Don't recommend him.
Get ready to this his class if not a bio major.
Jedi is one of the most dedicated professors at AVC. He truely cares about his students success whether they are bio majors or not. Its not an easy class but there are plenty of opportunities to make up points (extra credit). I would recommend this class to anyone who is passionate about biology and wants to be better prepared for transfer. Go USC!
Professor Lobos is a GREAT professor! You definitely have to work for your grade, but you will gain a great deal of knowledge about Biology. He relates a great deal of the material to real life examples and scenarios. He is VERY accessible outside of class and also goes out of his way to make sure that we learn the material. Make sure to STUDY!
Mr. Lobos is THE BEST instructor I have ever had! He is funny, straight forward and most importantly ACTUALLY cares about his students and their success. You cannot just cruise through his class, you have to actually work but he honestly gives you all the tools to pass with an A. If I could take him again, I would! TAKE HIM!!
Hes a nice person but not a good professor in my opinion. The quizzes and tests are not multiple choice so if you dont remember things the exact way they are in the lectures youre going to struggle. He also rarely gives back assignments so you dont truly know your grade till the end of the semester.
Lobos is the funniest and most inspiring professor I've ever taken. He made me love biology again and has continued to inspire me in pursuing the sciences and improving my work. His class isn't easy but is definitely fun and challenging.
literally the best teacher ive ever had. great at relating material to the real world and makes easy to remember connections. hilarious and a great role model.
There is nothing spectacular about him. He knows his stuff, he can be kind of rude sometimes, I wouldn't take him again.
Dr. Lobos has been one of my favorite teachers since coming to AVC. The man knows how to appeal to all types of learners during lectures and will tell you exactly whats gonna be on the exams. He is very accessible and gives great advice for the class and for life. The exams are more short essay and answer oriented so you better be prepared.
Dr. Lobos is AMAZING. His lectures are very visual & interactive. If you are a visual learner this class is for you. He is always there to help his students & it is basically impossible to fail his class. Just stay on top of your work, do your labs, AND LEAVE YOUR PHONE OFF. Other than that you'll easily pass this class & get some good laughs!
Good lecture for Lab, always tried to help, funny but he dont play games. Dont test him or lie to him. He wants to see you pass but requires effort. If you aren't trying to do the work this ain't your class.
Dr. Lobos is a fantastic instructor that truly wants everyone to pass. The course is a lot of studying by itself, but if help is needed he is always in his office and is very willing to help. He takes lab very seriously and will take off points if poor choices are made. I would highly recommend him for BIOL 204 if you really want to learn micro.
i struggled in his class i wasn't straight from high school and never took biology before he expects you to know alot. He will lock you out of class even before start time. he calls on you during class. he does give extra credit so participate. he will put you down at times. He goes off subject alot so its hard to follow along.
Dr. Lobos is the best bio professor I've ever! He does makes you work for your grade but it is worth it. You will learn how to actually think; it will not be memorization type of class but more of an understanding of the materials. Overall, it was a great experience!
Professor Lobos is a great teacher if you really want to work for it. I am a very lazy student and took this class at 8AM. I barely passed. All of the grades are based on quizzes and tests, no homework. All of the exams are short answer, no multiple choice.
Although Dr. Lobos is very informative and i did enjoy his lectures, he is also a very tough grader! He will use the textbook, but will go against the book, so when you take the quizzes/tests if you do not phrase your answer his way then its wrong. He is very critical and can come off as rude and demeaning towards students. i would not recommend.
Honestly he's the best professor to ever take for Micro.. The lectures are long, but his exams are fair and he's ALWAYS available for office hours to help you out. Honestly best class I've ever taken, just study daily and you'll be fine.
this class gave me anxiety
VERY TOUGH GRADER. Tests: mainly essay questions. If you give too much information in your answers he gives a 0 even if the correct answer is there. He offers extra credit but on very difficult ?s Theres a rare occasion its an easy ? He goes off topic ALOT and wastes class time telling unnecessary stories thus cramming lectures into one class
Participate daily because itll help with getting your grade up. There is no homework but a lot of studying. He uses proctorio for all quizzes/exams, so theres no way you can use notes. And theres barley any multiple choice, so know everything in detail because hell want you to explain answers. Study hard and youll pass. Good luck!
Has a huge ego! Thinks he knows how his students think during tests. No homework. Just tests, quizzes, and participation points. Can be rude when answering questions by saying: "It's obvious that..." Have to answer questions how he wants you to on the test. Will give you a 0 if you word the right answer differently or write too much.
Has a huge ego! He can be rude when answering questions by saying "It's obvious that..." No homework. Just test, quizzes, and participation points. Will give you 0 on test questions if you don't word it how he wants it. Gave me 0 even though my answer was correct because he felt i didn't understand the material. He confirmed my answer was correct!!
he's a very tough grader and doesn't give you many things to do, your whole grade is pretty dependent on a few tests. gets frustrated and blames students for technical problems in online classes. personally don't recommend.
He is an extremely difficult teacher. His grading is absolutely horrible and very harsh. He expects his students to completely know concepts and information as if we have competed our degrees already, forgetting these are literally beginning classes. He makes it difficult for students to ask questions because he answers them in a very rude way.
Dr. J is a GREAT PROFESSOR. His exams literally contain the content that is on his study guides, so it's always clear what you should be studying. If you know how to study effectively, you should do well. Very approachable outside of class. His lecture style and enthusiasm for the subject makes the material extremely enjoyable to learn.
I personally did not like this professor. I heard many good things about him, so I'm not sure if it was because it was online but it just seems that he cared more about giving information rather than making sure the students understood everything. He's a very tough grader and gives hard tests and quizzes. He also tells too many irrelevant stories.
This is actually the best class Ive ever taken in my life. Jedi is a professor that will be there for you as bad as you want it. If you like to take shortcuts this class isnt for you. But especially for nursing students, if you want to learn and be the best in your field, this class is great to start disciplining yourself. It depends on you here.
Given the circumstances of online learning, Dr. Lobos made the experience great. Super informative, helped relating topics to real life events. You have to study and put in the work and participate. There is no homework, but don't get behind on your lab notebook and study everyday even for a short period of time. Good luck!
An absolute Terror, would have an easier time Very elite and rude about his craft because "he cares" feels more like a gatekeeper imho. Does not return assignments, entire grade based off of a few tests. Giant Ego inflated from USC or where ever the hell else he teaches. if less than half students would not take again huge red flag. save ur time.
This profesor gave me so much stress. He was a good lecture teacher but makes it difficult on the exams. Please do not take him hes stressful.
He is a funny person and a nice teacher however, His grading is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I just took my first exam, got a low grade and i genuinely did study! like everything. and most of my explanations were correct but since they were not what he would say i got everything wrong. SO i would be very cautious in this class.
Hea a great BIOL 101L instructor. He explains the topic so vividly with interesting real life examples that you can listen to him lecturing all day long! Really makes the class fun and interactive between lab group. The only downside is that for some reasons, I get a couple questions wrong here and there in weekly quizzes before class. Love him!
Lobos was indeed a great professor. He cares about all his students, hilarious and really explains everything so well. I would 100% recommend him to anybody with good working habits and putting they're all in every lab. Lobos is not an easy nor hard professor, just wants students to succeed. Class includes lab manual, weekly quizzes, lab journal
Dr. J is an incredible person and teacher. I'm so glad I had him for lab. He made the class a ton of fun; he had us cracking up all the time! If you want a solid teacher, take any of his classes. You will learn so much. He will prepare and guide you like no other. Don't hesitate to visit him during office hours too if you need help.
The whole time the professor will keep telling you to drop out of the class instead of helping you if you do not understand. I have never been so stressed out about a class. I studied off study guide and he must get kick out of putting in trick questions. Yeah this is your life, you love this subject but for students this is why we pay, to learn.
Dr. Lobos is a phenomenal professor, the class itself (Micro) is a difficult subject, but he makes it so much more enjoyable, and makes you actually want to learn more. He gives you all the support you need to succeed in his class. Wouldn't chooser another professor.
Lobos is amazing. He wants to create good learners and efficient persons for the medical field. He gave some many opportunities to succeed. This class is difficult, by Lobos made it enjoyable. Tests were predictable. He was the best professor I ever had!!!
The most brutally unfair exams I have ever seen.
The most brutally difficult exams I have ever seen.
Lobos is the most difficult professor I have ever had.
The most helpful professor I have encountered. Made the class enjoyable and was open to questions and confusion. You'll do good on the test if you work hard, there was one lab notebook we had to submit and he gave study guides. He was helpful even when I needed help outside of class. Honestly, the best mentor one could ask for.
The prof can be tough but if you stay engaged and use study tools like unstuck ai, you can do well. Tricky grading, but lectures are worthwhile if you put in the work.
