He's only 27 and he's got a Masters in Mathematics and a double major in philosophy and math. He's really an awesome mentor at his age...
I had Jeff in a different school & he is very effective. Yes, he is young & can teach. Math isn't easy for some people, but he make is easy & comprehensible. You want to learn math? I recommend Jeff.
I HATE TCC! But Brignac makes math FUN!!! :-)
Jeff is a decent teacher but is sometimes to quiet. He needs to speak louder so students can here better. I did okay in his class and would suggest him as a teacher. Jeff is better than the other TCC math teachers. But sit on the front 2 rows so you can here.
Easy "A".. Do the reviews and do the homework and you will be fine. If you don't unerstand something he will do everything he can to explain it.
I wouldn't say Jeff's class is an 'easy' A, but he is a great guy and teacher. If you work hard and do the work you should be fine. He is easy to follow, you can tell he puts alot of time into planning. I'm doing well and since I am planning on pursuing a math related field, i'll try to take my math classes from Jeff.
He didn't really make me appreciate math anymore than I ever did but I must give him props for sticking to the topic very well and and endlessly attempting to help a mostly apathetic class.
i love this teacher he makes math easy. the first time i took this class i failed every test and now that he is my teacher i have passed all of them with no trouble! he helps you understand. did i mention he is so cute!! and funny..really nice guy.take him if u want to learn the stuff.oh and he has beautiful eyes:)
I know im doing good in Jeff's class and i am taking his trig class next semester with one of my friends. I took this same class with Mrs. Greenwood and failed, shes mean and not a good teacher. I think i might get an A, but know its at least a B with Jeff. He actually cares and he knows the math so he can make it easy for you. Take his class!
HE IS GREAT!! CONGRATS ON THE BECOMING A FATHER...WAS THAT A SECRET?? IM TAKING HIM AGAIN IN THE FALL..HE IS SO FUNNY AND HELPFUL!!I WENT TO HIS OFFICE TO STUDY FOR A TEST AND HE STAYED THERE UNTIL I GOT IT..EVEN THOUGH HIS STOMACHE WAS GROWLING FOR AN HOUR! THAT IS DEDICATION!TAKE HIM WITH ME ALOUPER!! AWESOME TEACHER!! KEEP IT UP!
yo yo - watz up! Jeff rocks! I swear I aced my final today! We will seen. He makes it so you dont fall asleep in class, he be funny and a good teacher. Take his class, everyone else at TCC sucks! I failed this class 2 other times before this and I have a shot at a B, but prolly a C - which is cool.
Very cute professor! CUTE! and very smart... BUT he IS quiet when he teaches. Sometimes you can barely hear him and he seems extremely nervous when teaching cause he always glides his fingers across the bottom of the board. It's kind of distracting, but he is a great helper!
Cute I found my mind wandering from math to his looks however he was very effective making sure you understood the material. If you stick with him & ask questions you will pass. I don't like too many math teachers but jeff is a good 1. I was sad that he left south campus i needed him for 1314.
So I am takin Jeffs class cuz a friend told me she passed cuz he was such a good teacher. He is already better than all the others, this is my 2 time to take this I failed the 1. I heard another teacher talking about Jeff's woman and that she is preggo and still cute - too bad he is taken. He is cute, it is hard to concertate on math sometimes.
Jeff was recommended to me by a friend and a teacher from last semester and wow is he great! I think he is probably the best math instructor I have had ever! Highly recommend him - very prepared and upfront about what he expects. I think an A is in my future.
Jeff seems to be a good teacher so far. I am at ease and feel comfortable in his class and if I need to go to him for extra help. I don't see what the fuss is about with his looks, a couple girls talk about it all the time. Sure hes cute, but not that cute, plus he is taken. I think as far as math goes he is at the top of his game.
Jeff makes math bearable! I highly recommend him. He is smart, willing, helpful, concise, funny, on task and best of all: easy on the eyes!
Jeff is nice and funny but he is hard and dont care if you gotta work and miss stuff. I failed and have to retake with Greenwood now cuz my job took me away from quizes and a few tests. If all you got to do is school is a good choyce.
Brignac ROCKS! I had him last semester, this semester and am planning on taking him next semester again for Trig. I want to transfer to UTA for engineering next Fall and was roughing it in Math until Jeff's class. Some teachers know it but don't know how to teach it but Jeff knows it and teaches it different ways so everyone gets it.
Math blows but Jeff makes it worth coming to class. He is funny and really cares if we get it. He always runs his fingers at the bottom of the board and then the line of his pocket, he always gets chalk on his pants. Its just another reason to look at his booti. I think i'm going to pass and it is because he makes sense.
Jeff is totally hot but is also a good teacher. He makes sense and he is funny. I am going to class this semester for the firs time every class because of him. Who knows maybe I will do good! Sign up for his class cuz he is the best!
Brignac is awezome! Friend is taking him cuz she things hes cute and i'm takin with her for fun, but wow he really is a good teacher. Its hard stuff but he makes it okay and i am gettin it. Take Jeff!
Monotone, hard, unyielding, uptight and you can't hear him speak. I barely passed and I tried.
I hate math and usually have to work hard for a C. Jeff makes it much more understandable, he teaches each topic in different ways so you have a better chance of getting it somehow. It has really worked for me. He is very approachable if you need help and provides occassional humor. Highly recommend him.
Love, love Jeff! Am doing WELL all because of HIM! TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! He is the BEST!
Jeff is best! I took him at South campus and was SO sad when he left! I am actually considering making the drive to NW in the Spring just to take my last math class with him. Am trying this semester here at South and am failing! Jeff makes it crystal clear and really cares if you get it! TAKE JEFF'S CLASSES - you will NOT regret it!
MATH STUD!
He's a very good teacher. Goes over the material as many times as you need and drops the lowest test grade! Yay! I've always been horrible at math but I passed the first time and made a B+! I'd take him again so I definately recommend him!
He is AWESOME. He knows how to explain everything really well to your understanding. This class was a breeze. He is GREATTTTT!!!=]
I really liked taking Jeff's class. I had fun and he made it easy for me. I didn't understand a lot of things when I first went into his class, but he showed me differnt ways to do the problems and then I got it.
I know its the first week but Jeff seems like a really awesome teacher so far. I am taking his class on a friends recommendation. Jeff seems helpful, funny and knowledgeable, I have high hopes for this semester.
First time I have had a teacher who knew what they were doing at TCC in the math dept. I get it and am pleased with my progress this semester so far. Thanks Jeff!
Jeff is truly the best math teacher and probably the best teacher I've EVER had! My mom and I don't know why he is at TCC he should be at TCU! For the first time I understand math and I have always worked to understand it, but have never had anyone able to teach it in a way for me to understand. Jeff tries different ways until the class gets it!
He is a pretty awesome teacher, I think I will be taking him again for the summer
I have learned so much this semester and it is because of Jeff. This is my third time to take this class but I finally 'get it' and it is all due to Jeff. He teaches the same material in different ways until everyone understands. He is patient, smart, hilarious and understanding. I am going to take him next Fall if they ever post his schedule.
Jeff is a great teacher but seems to be a bit on the arrogant side. If you are looking for a good math instructor you can't go wrong, just be prepared for some pompous days.
Jeff Brignac is a GREAT teacher and makes math very easy to learn. He makes sure that everyone understands the material he is teaching before he moves on. Homework is not mandatory and is only given to help the students better understand the material. This is my second time taking a class with him and I will again if he is posted.
Best Math teacher EVER! I completely hated math and could never understand it before this class. He makes the material very easy to learn, and I actually help friends with their math work now! You dont have to do the homework but it is helpful and gives practice tests before the actual test. Got an A in the class!
I failed, re-failed and failed again until I took Jeff's class. I not only passed, I got a B! Because of failing so much my parents are making me pay for school so now I work and go to school, it would be so much easier if Jeff would teach online classes. C'mon Jeff!
great teacher! he is always there for you whe you have a question and he never forgets. extremely helpful. i will be taking him for my other math classes! veerry handsome too.
Total hottie and great teacher! I love that he doesn't collect the hmwk but gives it out. He also posts practice tests and the answers to help you prepare for the test. He is the best and I will only take him for my Math classes!
BEST TEACHER YOU CAN EVER HAVE FOR MATH. TAKE HIS CLASSES WHEN POSSIBLE. I WISH I HAD HIM FOR ALL MY MATH CLASSES.
good teacher
He is a great teacher!!!! I never understood math, and was always really really bad at it!!! Make sure you go to class...b/c he gives quizes, and you can't make them up!
I don't see what everybody sees in Jeff. I had a hard time understanding him. Nice guy but his teaching style was not what I needed.
Am taking a distance learning class with Jeff and wow is it great. I tried with another professor first and they had hardly any material up to help us and were slow to respond to emails. Jeff is on top of his game, his notes are EASY to understand WITH examples! Love him!
I tried 0304 on campus and good lord the teacher was terrible. Then I tried distance learning and that teacher would never email back, never put up notes, and never check in with us. JEFF IS AWESOME! I kicked butt on our first test because I finally get it. The examples Jeff gives are easy and simple. He also is constantly checking in with us.
I found Jeff extremely boring, and had the hardest time paying attention to his incomprehensible lectures. I would never recommend him for another student or an aspiring mathematician.
I found Jeff to be a great instructor. I have grown weary of teachers who are dull and rooted in their 30 year old methods. Jeff is young, smart, funny, and best of all, a truly inventive teacher. I am applying to UT's Engineering program in the Fall and took Jeff to finish my math basics. You won't be sorry, he is anything but boring.
I took Trig during the Summer, and Jeff was to this day, the best teacher I have had in mathematics. He is very clear on his teaching, not to mention he's hilarious. I wish he taught advanced mathematics courses.
I would not recommend him. I have struggled all semester with his class and he really isn't very helpful. I have not found him to be very attentive to his students except for a few. His grading isn't very fair
he is a math geek who does not understand the position of someone who has difficulty learning math, someone who does not just "get it". he just teaches it his way and its his way or the highway, only 14 students of the original 32 who started the class remained after the drop date. i dont recommend him as a teacher.
I don't know what other people are thinking saying that Jeff isn't a good teacher. He is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had. BECAUSE OF HIM I got it and think I may actually be able to handle the math I need for my degree. Also, he is a babe and I think he isn't married anymore. He never talks about his wife and isn't wearing a ring!
He was very confusing to me. I didn't like his style of teaching.
I think Jeff was a good teacher. He takes his time with each problem and fully explains it. I didn't go to class very often, and managed to make a B. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't understand math, I would suggest going. He makes time outside of class to help any of his students. I would take him again.
He really had a way of breaking down the math. Wonderful teacher.Do the homework!!! Attend class. He provides copies of previous tests as reviews.
He was an amazing teacher. I have never made an A in a math class before this one.
awesome teacher. very patient
very patient, very helpful, funny, easy to understand, gives lots of examples, and is fair. You can't go wrong with a Brignac. My girlfriend took his wife for Eng at another campus and we both like the Birgnacs.
great teacher really nice guy. very patient and will help you IF YOU ASK. Test were pretty hard though.
Jeff is incredible. I have always hated math until him. Truly I went from skipping all the time and having to retake math and making Fs on tests, to doing well. I went to class because he was a good teacher, funny, and super cute. I ended up with a B and couldn't be happier. Take Jeff. A friend suggested him and wow!!
I attend TCU during the year and have attempted Stats there twice and never 'get' it. Jeff's class is just as hard, but he is an incredible teacher. I understand and he makes it bearable. Take stats with Jeff. You won't be sorry.
First, Jeff is a dreamboat. Second, he is funny. Third, he is the best statistics teacher ever! I tried to take it at TCU and the prof was horrible and just expected you to 'get' it without explaination. Jeff bends over backwards to explain and give examples. Amazing guy. Wish he was at TCU for all my math!
A fellow classmate just told me about this site today and wow do I wish I had been using it for prior teachers. Jeff is the best math teacher I have ever had. This is my 3rd time to take statistics and this is the first time I feel like I have a grasp on the subject. Jeff is approachable and interesting.
i am so impressed with jeff. i have never understood probability before and finally do! i am telling everyone at my university about him, they all need to take stats with jeff. seriously, he needs to be at a big school.
Took Online. Great teacher. Very encouraging and makes himself available to help. Very clear expectations and informative. Textbook not needed if using MyMathLab. Exams taken both online and on NE Campus.
Delicious to look at and a great teacher! Couldn't ask for a better package.
Hi there! I was your typical slacker, spoiled daddy's girl when I started TCC. I took Jeff and left a bad review, but now have retaken him and really see what a FANTASTIC teacher he is!! IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS STUDENT, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH JEFF AS A TEACHER!!
Great teacher. I got a C, but that is great progress for me! Couldn't be happier. Jeff really breaks the material down and teaches so everyone who is trying should get it. Funny too.
Took the online class. Not really reocmmended. Nice teacher, but class is not easy by any stretch. Tests were HARD, and all were on campus. Some questions on tests are not even in chapter materials. He is willing to go over tests with you to see where your probelm areas are. Txtbook not needed.
I don't really know what my course number is but I took Calc with Jeff. Honestly, he is the best professor I have EVER had. The material is hard, but come on - it is MATH not gym. The guy is always prepared, willing to help, and breaks up the boringness of math with humor. He is the greatest!
I took Alg with Jeff and OMG is he a great teacher! Plus he is a nice man to look at when at the board. hehee.
FABULOUS!!!! Took him online and it was difficult but the most thourough online instuctor EVER!
I took his course online. He is very helpful. He encourages you to stop by and visit during his office hours for any questions. You pretty much know what to expect during test because the homework you complete is very similar.
Great instructor. Will teach multiple ways to solve a problem. Spends plenty of time taking questions and going over material again without getting bogged down.
I took Jeff a year ago and have been trying to take another one of his classes but he is not teaching what I need. So nice and always helpful. Great Teacher.
I took Calculus II with Prof. Brignac. He emphasizes the big picture on tests and lessons and doesn't get caught up in petty details. Very friendly and helpful, got an A in his class. Grade is entirely made up of tests and take-home quizzes. If you're at all apprehensive about Calc. II, Brignac is your prof. I highly recommend him.
His easy explanations made it difficult for tests and homework. He gave sample tests that were much easier than tests. Very anal about running over on time limit.
One of the est Math professors i had ever had! He needs to go to TCU and teach the professors how to teach! Only complaint; he doesn't teach the classes i need.
His tests where 65% of the grade, if you have test anxiety dont take him. I took him summer one and failed because of test There is no make up on anything I passed his reviews with no problem but only on scutal test! btw office hours are 2 days thirty minutes each
Took his online summer class, so I never saw him at all. From the way he sent emails/typed lessons he seems like a very helpful professor. All I can say is the class is not easy in summer. You're doing about 3 weeks worth of work in one week, so be prepared. Otherwise, fairly decent class. Tests are quite difficult, but manageable if you study.
Great teacher, very straight forward in expectations, and can I just say, "YUM". He is super cute!
No clue if he is cute as I took his online course. He is superb. Even through his online course he was able to portray his personality and teaching style and accomplish what other instructors could not. Jeff is an excellent instructor.
Excellent prof. He can be a little monotone but crystal clear in his explanations. He is very helpful if you ask. Definitely a solid prof. He gives some partial credit but do not rely on it. However, I cannot say there was ever a surprise on a test or quiz. As I said before Jeff is solid. I would take him again without a doubt!!
I hate math. Really hate it. I happen to need it for my major but Jeff made it so I could get through it. It is tough but he really explains things well. He is also very helpful.
A-MAZING! Probably one of the best math instructors I've ever had. He needs to come teach at SMU!
I have attempted with 2 other teachers at TCC as well as at my university, TCU, and I drop because of failing grades, despite hard work on my part. Jeff breaks the material down and really has a gift for explaining and not bogging you down. Can't recommend him enough.
GREAT instructor! Makes a hard subject simple. He has a gift for explaining.
Cool dude. Great teacher for hard subject.
This is my second class with Jeff. He's an excellent instructor. Calc II is just a hard course no matter who teaches it but we were in good hands. He is especially helpful in office hours. I'll see him for Calc III in the Fall.
Works the easiest examples and leaves the hardest problems from homework for the next class to go over them. His tests consist of the harder problems from the homework with a few small twists.
The professor is very patient and is more than willing to do several examples so every student will understand the concept. He is very focused on what needs to be known. Does NOT require online math homework or any homework at all.
very easy, nice teahcer ever, very clear on material, extremly helpful,
Amazing teacher. Very well spoken, easy to understand, easy on the eyes, and tests are straight forward. Couldn't ask for better. I am taking him because my BFF took his wife and said she was amazing. My friend says she talks about him and their kids all the time, but Jeff never mentions being married or anything. So that's odd. Bottom line - cool!
Awesome instructor, very clear, helpful, and good communication. Hoping to take another online class with him.
I never actually met this teacher because I have him ONLINE and math isnt my best subject i had to repeat this class but Mr Brignac was very helpful even if it was through an email. If you have trouble i recommend visiting him during his office hours he will help you review for tests or quizzes.
Very clear professor. If you are not the best at math he really helps you understand the subject. I would highly recommend this professor for any math subject.
Great teacher! Easy class to make an A if you do all the work. Sometimes took a while to respond to emails. Worked around schedule.
great professor! would highly recommend! very easy to pass if you put in the effort!
Seriously great teacher. Blew me away. I am from UTA and will try to take all math through this dude. He has no business being at TCC, needs to move on up.
Took his class because a friend (ex) recommended Jeff. He makes an agonizing subject simple. Jeff has a gift for explaining. Truly. But better yet, he is a really good looking guy. Enjoyable class from all angles. Haha.
Awesome professor. He explains everything in the best possible way to get you to understand a difficult subject. Calculus is not easy, but this professor can help. I highly recommend him for any math subject
Jeff is an awesome teacher! He has worked with me at least once a week since the beginning of the semester. I am a TCU student and have taken this class twice before and didn't pass. After having Jeff's help with my class all semester, I have successfully passed and understand it! If you struggle in math, he is the professor to take!Topi
This is exactly how math ought to be taught. Textbook was not required, he gave us all the notes and examples we needed. All we did in class was work through problems. No homework, a few quizzes, no surprises on the tests.
Currently taking his class, he is a great professor. Simplify complex math so that you can understand the foundation and build up upon it. Gives life examples and he likes to review what you learn the class before. He provides everything you need to pass the class with an A, you just need to follow up on your end.
Brignac is an excellent professor. He explains stuff in almost excruciating detail to ensure that everyone understands it. Can be a tough grader, but if you show your work, he will generally give you at least a few points for the problem.
Great professor. I had him for calculus I and II. I will be taking him for calculus III over the summer. Nothing is unexpected. He gives at least a week notice before a quiz and over what lesson(s). If you took good notes and did the homework on the lessons the tests are just like the lessons with numbers changed.
Very tough class, I retook calculus with another professor at the same campus and made an A when I was going to make a C or D in his. I am fairly strong in math but he is tough. Exams are entirely show your work questions. If taking him, take this class by itself if possible and practice the practice problems given over and over.
Great teacher! I am horrible at math and I still passed! you do have to do the homework, but most importantly you have to pass the tests to pass the class since grades are 70% of your grade! Would def. take him again!
I have taken Jeff for multiple classes. He is the bomb. Seriously. Breaks down the toughest material into layman's terms. He also always makes time to help you outside of class and doesn't tolerate idiots distracting others in his class. Is his class tough? Sure. But it should be. The point is that he teaches so you are prepared.
I have taken all of my Calculus at TCC with Jeff. No homework. No textbook. Clear, self-made lessons that are exactly what you'll test over. No guesswork. Show up to class, take notes and work through the problems at home for practice. You'll do great. I believe in you.
With this guys personality you will feel comfortable in a math class. He has a calm personality, is very friendly and is always there for you. Hes pretty much the guy to lean on when your not strong.
I love Mr. Brignac. Love. Him. He is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He knows more about math than the people who came up with it, I swear. The guy knows everything. He is amazing at explaining, and he will answer any question you have. Math is hard for a lot of people, and if you have to take more advanced math, take Mr. Brignac.
Brignac is a beast for Calc II. I really enjoyed his teaching style. He teaches from his own lessons which are organized and easy to follow. Read the lessons, know the lessons and you will do fine. There was 1 problem per test that was on the lesson (exactly) that he didn't cover in class, his way of seeing who's doing the lessons. Funny guy too.
NO ACTUAL HOMEWORK BUT GIVES PRACTICE PROBLEMS TO DO IF YOU CHOOSE. DON'T DO THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL. HE WORKS OUT MOST OF THEM IN CLASS SO IF YOU TAKE NOTES YOU HAVE EXAMPLES OF EXACTLY WHAT TO DO. I WAS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT ALL PRACTICE PROBLEMS FROM THE NOTES. IF NEEDED, HE EXPLAINS FROM THE MOST BASIC LEVEL WITHOUT MAKING YOU FEEL STUPID.
I have taken Brignac for Cal I and II and I can say I have made it through. This guy is calm and laid back. He has hand outs that he made and uses in his class. He teaches by working the practice problems on the hand outs. Cant see it any better than that.
Great
He made the material very easy to comprehend and no homework except the lecture hw. Didn't need the book and he broke the class down but in the end I felt like it wasn't challenging enough and did not require mass studying, especially if i'm going to need the class for advanced courses. I recommend taking another professor if you want to learn more
Jeff has masterminded an awesome curriculum with aspects that many of us have only dreamed of; No textbook, no graded homework, and no crappy MyMathLab! Doing problems to learn rather than because they are required helps you focus on what's important with the extremely limited time you have available. Wish all math teachers would be like Jeff!
I had Jeff for Precal, Cal 1 & Cal 2, and have nothing but good things to say about him. No Homework, no book, the only problems that you do are the ones you go over in class in his lessons. He is amazing at breaking things down step by step and reviewing algebra & trig. Tests come from the lessons, no tricks. Very caring and accessible.
Prof. Brignac is a great educator. He is good at explaining concepts and various methods of working problems. Final grade is Quiz/Test heavy. The quizzes are all ScanTron, but the tests are written. He is very fair when he grades the tests. The lack of an A in this class was all on me, and not the professor. Taking Calc II in the fall from him.
He is a great teacher. Unable to make a A is all my fault but i am pretty sure i will make it next semester. He has no homework or stuffs like that. But you have to study for the tests and quizzes. And he sometimes offers extra credits too.
Hes okay at explaining things, but hes not great at it and unless you ask the questions he dont just explain everything. Hes a real tough grader makes you show your work on tests. Homework is not turned in for grade. I took accelerated course, you have 4 major tests and Quizzes and Daily grades are an easy 100 just show up for class.
If you have knowledge in Algebra already then the class will be a breeze. Even if you aren't that familiar with algebra or its been a while he covers exactly what will be on the quizzes and tests and he gives a ton of resources for now to make an A. If you show up thats a free 100. He is there to help you and to make you understand.
Has his own lectures, so you don't need a book. No homework, so you don't have to waste your time. Partial credit on exams, multiple choice quizzes, and final can replace a low exam grade. He explains things very well. Go to lecture and work through the lessons to study, they are a fair represetation of exams/quizzes.
I took him for Calc.3 His method of teaching is very different from previous teachers I have had, there were no cushion grades and gave poor feedback when handing back tests. Would not take him again.
I have taken this course twice previously and failed. I got an A in his class. He teaches the material very thoroughly and is happy to clarify anything you need help on. I am terrible at math, but for the first time since middle school I actually understand what is going on. He's extremely nice and genuinely cares that you do good in his course.
Jeff was a solid teacher. Took calc3, not a fun class regardless of teacher. He is very patient and doesn't mind reviewing old material to catch you up. Would gladly take another class with him. No textbook required. Tests are very similar to his lectures. Quizzes were tough.
After barely passing five previous math classes, Im now consistently getting As and Bs in both Calc I & II thanks to Jeff! Super nice guy and very helpful during office hours. No homework, but the majority of your grade comes from the tests; study the lessons over and over and there will be no surprises. First math classes I havent cried in!
You have to teach yourself the math, he doesnt go over the little problems he gives you to practice, sure hes a very nice but try teaching yourself calculus it isnt easy you can watch him go over it time and time again but when you are at home and do not understand your screwed, who gives college students a grade for showing up for class? He does
Mr. Jeff was great math professor, and he give you lot of homework to do.
Prof Brignac is very helpful, has videos on YouTube that he posts on Blackboard to help if you get stuck. It's been 4 years since I've taken a math course and I passed with an A+. Homework has many questions but if you do one or two a week you will be okay. Quizzes are the same structure as the test, just the numbers are different. Loved the class.
I hate Math with a passion but when I tell you professor Brignac did wonders! He is amazing at explaining in detail how to work out the problems and has a video for step by step procedures on the what we were going over. He extended due dates when he saw us struggling and the homework and quizzes you can redo until you get 100%. He is great!
As an engineer and chemist, I have taken many mathematics courses with many professors, and Mr. Brignac is definitely at the top of my list for the best math teachers I have ever seen. He is also available outside of class if needed for tutoring, and he is a very nice man. I highly recommend him for all your math needs.
Back in school after over 15 years and I had absolutely zero memory of anything I learned in pre-algebra almost 2 decades ago. Mr B was fantastic! Walks you through it step by step and actually cares about his students.I still need a Trig course for my BBA and I'm hoping to find one that he teaches. Take Mr B's class. You won't be sorry.
He's a great professor, nice guy, and I love his teaching style, but I would strongly discourage taking him online. The software he chooses to use for test proctoring is riddled with errors, and he does not respond to emails.
He seems great professor at NW campus and he is good breaking down. I would take him again if I want to.
He amazing, I never thought I could get an A in calc but I did. He teaches in a way that is simplified and he even reviews old material so that every one can be on board. I doped this class at UTA because I was gonna get a D and hadn't learned anything. But after taking Brignac's class I actually learned the material and came to enjoy it. TAKE HIM!
Great professor, very organized. Graded assignments right away and when changes were ,made to schedule he communicated this. I would take this professor again the homework is a great support for completely and getting good grades on exams. Make sure to take thorough notes, as each topic takes some practice.
I would absolutely take more of his classes! There were a few things I did not remember from high school (been awhile,) and I sent an email explaining exactly the questions on the homework I was struggling with and he made sure to post information videos ASAP! He explains VERY well and is VERY simple explanations that MAKE SENSE.
Wish I could give a negative rating. Unclear with his online work and very little consideration for students.
He is an AMAZING TEACHER! He explains everything SO CLEARLY that after his lectures you will 100% understand math. He doesn't give any homework, so you should practice on your own. You'll have quizzes with infinite attempts and 5 tests, which are extremely easy. Just practice a bit, listen carefully, and you will LOVE math because of him!
I got a C but don't let that scare you. He is such a good teacher and he is very thorough with the stuff he shows you. I am really bad at math and I haven't taken a course in almost 3 years. Even though I got a C, I am proud because I understood a lot more and I still passed.
This man was born to teach. He explains every concept incredibly thoroughly with tons of examples, and makes sure you know EXACTLY how it relates to whatever concept came before it. Any time I was confused, I could email him and he would respond very quickly. I had struggled a ton with calculus before, but have a solid grasp now. 100% recommend.
If you hate math, you will love him. If you haven't had any math courses in 30 years, his lectures alone will have you understanding clearly. Do yourself a favor and TAKE HIS CLASS! 4 exams, 4 quizzes with lowest dropped. 16 homework assignments with 5 lowest dropped. I suggest brushing up on factoring, but he goes over EVERYTHING! TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!
I took Mr Brignac for College Algebra this spring 2021. Let me tell you that I am no good at math. I have tried to take this course at least 4 times and have dropped out or failed. Mr Brignac helped me understand the assignments and did I mention that I took him online? He gives video recorded sessions and allows you to use notes on the quizzes.
This guy is absolutely amazing! I haven't taken a math class in years and explained that when I introduced myself. He told me he doesn't expect anyone to remember algebra. He explains everything in detail. He always made time for me if I had questions. Even at 9PM. I would take him for every math class if I wasn't moving to Hawaii. 100% recommend.
Jeff is a really nice guy. The material is difficult but taking notes word-for-word, drawing for drawing is key. Also, printing out solutions for the extra exercises for each section in Webassign helped me immensely! There will be test problems that don't resemble homework problems but they resemble another problem in the chapter exercises.
I Never received higher than a C in math for 4 years until now by taking calc 1 with Mr. Brignac in the summer. This was my first time taking this class and I'm normally horrible at math but it was actually fun. He did give extra credit this sem for each test also. Total 21 quizzes and 5 tests with 3 quizzes dropped. Take him and you'll enjoy math
There is no homework grade so it is purely on quiz and test grades which makes the class harder because your effort isn't counted. I am bad at math. He made things simple. He's a great educator. Patient and kind. Still calculus, I spent an average of 10 hours per week at the math lab (NE is better) in order to get my C. Half the class dropped.
This guy is awesome! Really appreciate that he was my professor. He broke down the process and then took us through actual examples that were related to the material and the test. #StatCats
I was terrified to take stats. My first math class in 15 years. His lectures were amazing and he broke everything down and started from scratch in all his lectures. If there was confusion on a topic he was easily accessible through email. GREAT teacher. I wouldn't take a math class with anyone else. Plan to take him for college algebra
I graduated high school ten years ago. Going to college was very scary for me because I felt so far behind which was made worse by the fact I had accidentally clicked a seven week course. However, Jeff's class was an absolute breeze. If you cannot take his class, watch his youtube videos. He makes everything so easy to understand.
Lectures are very easy to understand. Gives 2 weeks to do 2 chapters of homework. He responded to my emails within 24 hours. GREAT math professor!! I plan on taking him for stats in the fall
Professor Jeff was absolutely amazing! There was one time when I couldn't take a test when it was due because of technology issues and he allowed me to take it late without any penalty. He had amazing lectures that really helped me understand what I was struggling with. I would recommend Professor Jeff to anyone looking into taking a math class.
All assignments are completed on MyLab & Mastering. It is one of my favorite ways to complete assignments at TCC. Using the "help me solve this" feature lets you learn everything you need to know. He makes videos for every new topic. He goes into detail and is readily available to explain anything further that you may need help with. He's very nice
The class was kind of difficult, but it's algebra, so that's to be expected. He allows you to use notes on the test, which helps a ton! That's the main reason I was able to pass. The homework is not terribly difficult, you use My MathLab, which is included with the course. I would take him again!
He explains the basics, helpful for those of us who haven't had a math class in some time. You're able to use notes on the exam. Important since exams are worth a lot. He uses My math lab but it is a helpful tool as it shows examples and lets you try again and again. Quizes (you can retake) are basically the exams, just different numbers
Professor B was great! He gives plenty of time to complete assignments. His lectures are amazing and he explains everything in a way that makes it easy to understand. He drops the lowest quiz grade and 5 lowest homework grades. The final is the unit 4 test and it's not cumulative. He's very kind, understanding, and offers extra credit discussions.
Really great at expelling all of the topics in the online lectures, is also willing to create extra lectures over any issues you have in the homework - which is done through mymathlab as well as tests. Doesn't provide any reviews for the tests but the quizzes are exactly like the tests. Really easy to reach outside of class all around good teacher.
Great professor! Take him if you struggle with math. The videos he provides are very helpful and he's great at teaching. Highly recommend.
He is a great professor and even has his own YouTube page where he goes in-depth with any math problems. Exams are weighted heavily on your grade so make sure to take great notes because his tests are open notes. Unlimited amount of tries for homework and quizzes to get better grades. also offers extra credit. The bad grade was due to me not him.
I took his 4 week algebra class and was nervous, but he's awesome. He was super helpful and the work overall was very doable. It was fast paced (like most 4 week classes) but he offered tons of help and you can retake the assignments and quizzes until you get the grade you want. Exams are weighted heavy but open note and exactly like the quizzes
Prof. Brignac is an amazing instructor whom I would choose again and again. Even through his online class I was able to recognize that he enjoys his work and wants his students to succeed. His instructional videos are thorough and easy to follow; tests are timed but open note. Put in some time & effort and there is no reason why you can't do well.
Great teacher. I hadn't done math like this in a long time, and before diving into the more difficult areas, he reminds you of previous principles to use and what you should do. He knows it's been awhile for some of us. He is very responsive. If you need help, all you need to do is ask. 100% recommend and would take his class again.
Professor B is incredibly helpful. He explains concepts clearly and offers tons of support. Leveraging Unstuck AI alongside the open-note exams really helped me succeed in this fast-paced algebra class.
My experience in this class the information is valuable. However, if you have questions regarding the material don't expect a prompt reply which may affect your grade. Also, if you're not prepared to write out every detail shown by the textbook example, your grade will suffer regardless of what's demonstrated in class.
The test is open note with lockdown browser but there's a reason. The tests are so hard! This was my most stressful class I've taken this year. You'll have to submit photos of work for the last 5 questions of the test but he grades them harshly and you have to have your work from him and NOTHING else. Tests are 75% of grade!! Never again!
I took this course online, and it is still one of my favorite classes. Professor Brignac cares about you getting a good grade, but you have to make an effort. Taking the practice quizzes repeatedly and meeting with him helped me so much.
Really good professor it was just hard to keep up with his online class, if math isn't your strong suit (especially calc) I think you'd get way more out of his class if you just took in it person since that's where most of my struggle came from. Overall he's a good teacher
Tough grader you will do a lot of homework but it will only be worth 8% of your grade Test are worth 78% and are fill in the blank .. You will also lose point on your test if you don't show work exactly how he wants …. Save yourself do not take this course
I'm looking forward to taking as many of his classes as I can. The lectures are so thorough and he is very helpful if you get stuck on something. It is a lot of work, but if you put in the time you can get a good grade.
I am not that good at math, but this professor made it easier. If you struggle with math he is a good option.
The tests are HARD, BUT you get to use notes which is the only thing that saved me as well as the extra credit. Tests are 78% of your grade and proctored. I do think he is passionate about teaching and his YouTube videos help a lot. He is quick to respond to questions and tries his best to help. Don't be afraid to reach out. Work HARD. Many dropped
If your adham don't take it trust me you can't watch the hub
So good at explaining each topic. Allows you to use AI on quizzes and homework. Tests are proctored but almost exact replicas of the quiz. He was awesome and made it so much easier with the grading and extra credit! No final!!!
Professor Brignac is the best professor I've had in any course. Very thorough lectures. Uses examples from the homework assignments. Provides quizzes prior to the tests which really helped me keep my test grade high because if I failed the quiz I had feedback and knew what to work on more. Basically, he actually cares about his students.
I don't typically leave reviews for professors but Prof. Brignac was awesome. He provides videos and a textbook, but his videos are good enough that you don't have to read the textbook. He is very chill when he talks so you might need to speed up the video but besides that he is great. He has these discussions where you can answer for extra credit.
Took him during the summer and unfortunately failed his class but as I am about to finally pass the class I took with him I feel I owe him. He was willing to work with me on exams and although I didn't speak to him much he was a great professor and he explained the material very thoroughly on his lecture videos which I used over this fall. 10/10
This professor does not care about your situation, there's a small amount of forgiveness if you need an extension on a test due date. Otherwise the class is based 75% on tests so get ready for that. I aced my neuroscience class yet still couldn't pull off a C in this one, if that tells you anything. Good luck I guess.
