VERY helpful, interesting and entertaining. Makes Stats fun!!
Very helpful professor. Helped to understand statistics concepts and principles. Best professor to take statistics from at EWU.
Jeff Culver is an exceptional teacher who demonstrates service excellence at it's best. He promotes respect and success among his students and Eastern is enriched with his presence.
Very Energetic!!!
The bests stats teacher EVER!!! Makes everything simple, and useful, makes sure you understand what is going on. Highly recommended!
Culver is awesome. He is the best stats teacher at EWU. If you can take his class, do it. One of the top teachers I have ever had. He makes stats interesting with his real world experience. Dr. Birch should take some lessons from him.
Jeff is among the best instructors at EWU. Very approachable, will bend over backwards to give you help if your are willing to ask. Easy 4.0 if you do the work.
Good instructor
Mr. Culver is awesome. I hate stats as a subject but he actualy finds ways to make it interesting. He is very helpful, I emailed him every week for help with homework and he helped me out.
excellent teacher. stats sucks but he made it very easy to understand
Fun class. Not a whole lot of work involved and pretty straightforward. If you have to take stats, this is the guy to take it from.
Culver is the best prof to have for stats. He really helps you understand the material.
Stats II is a little more interesting than Stats I. Culver is a smart guy, but I wondered why so many students didn't seem to get what he was talking about.
He was not helpful at all.
He rocks. I think he's way better than Murph. He's very helpful and always answers your questions - no matter how stupid they seem!
best teacher ever! if u gonna take stats, take it from Culver. helpful, understanding, funny, energetic, interesting, and all of the above!
His tests are very challenging but you will certainly learn something. The class is fun, really fun. He makes his students laugh every class.
Talks really really fast if you don't pay attention the whole time you will be extremely lost! Very energetic and tests are hard but he's good!
Jeff knows his stats.
makes a hard class very easy and very interesting!! if you have to go through the torture of taking stats take it from him!!
Great professor, knows his business. Helpful, knowledgeable, wants everyone to pass and will help you suceed. Talks fast but makes sure to ask for questions.
Great Professor! Made a difficult subject learnable. Has the enthusiasm that makes you stay awake and pay attention during lectures. Would consider even working for him.
Stats 2 is supposed to be the hardest of all business classes. Jeff makes it pretty bareable. Is always willing to help no matter the time or day, will even give out his personal number if need be. Best business professor yet! Highly recommend.
He made things very clear but also expects you to learn it. You will not pass if you refuse to learn. Its a quality class and worth your money. His class and teaching ability inspired me to take more decision science classes
Great teacher. Stats is a hard class, but he'll get you through it. There is no reason with Jeff that you can't pass this class. He lets you take midterm and final in groups! Not only is he very adept at teaching the class, but he has a ton of real world experience. Highly recommended.
Jeff is one of the best professors at Eastern! If you have to take Stats, take it from Jeff do NOT take it from any other teacher. Stats is a hard subject but Professor Culver will get you through it! He is extremely helpful and actually cares if his students are understanding and doing well!!!
Awesome class, most I've learned since I've been at Eastern!! Ownes his own marketing firm, knows what he is talking about. He only teaches night class, material goes quick, you cannot miss class or you'll be lost. If you want to learn sign up with Jeff, if you want a cheesy easy class steer clear, this guy is hard core.
Very inspiring
great TEACHER! He really does a good job of focusing the scope to things you need to know.
Finally a teacher who cares about the students. Great Teacher, I am writing this for Stats 1 and 2. The best business teacher I have taking by far. Material is very difficult, but he makes it understandable. I just wish he taught finance :(. Probably could teach it better than most of the professors at eastern. Very intelligent, and positive person
Challenging but He is amazing and caring and funny and you'll enjoy his class
Jeff is an inspiring teacher and a caring teacher. His subject is difficult but he does what he has to to get you to understand.
He comes off as a complete hard nosed guy, but he is by far THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. He will bend over backwards for his student. He really prepares his students for the real world, and doesn't just get students through his class. A must if you have to take the class!
Jeff was an excellent teacher. He made me realize stats isnt just some boring thing you have to suffer through to get a business degree but something VERY useful in the business world. The class is tough, but he will help you. I spent between 7 and 20 hours per week on homework but learned a ton. He is highly recommended
Jeff Culver really cares about getting his students into Grad School. He is very helpful and clearly explains Stats in a way you can understand. His class is hard, but he does everything he can to help. Highly recommend Jeff if you are entering the MBA program and need this foundation course.
He is a great professor. I was not incredibly interested in the subject but he made it interesting and was a great teacher. He is also very approachable so when the class gets hard he'll always be there to help! Be ready to learn! You'll leave this class knowing stats inside and out!
really excellent. clear and concise. wants everyone to pass. the only good stats prof at EWU
Very good professor but he brags about his life a bit too much. Some students have complained about his teaching style but I think he made it quite easy to learn stats. The grade is based off of a few homework assignments and the midterm & final. Homework assignments are all in minitab and if you miss one assignment you are screwed.
I took Jeff for both stats classes 2 years apart and his teaching still hadn't changed. Still walks in with a coffee and Mt Dew and talks 100 miles a minute. If you read, go to class, and pay attention to his handouts, you should pass. Our mid-term and final were take home, but he switches it up. Usually done w/class w/in 2 hrs. during a 4hr class.
Good professor, I dont think his grading is all that accurate. Still best option for these classes
Entertaining, fair, shares a lot of real knowledge. Great prof. I would take him anytime. Does have a hard time explaining assignment instructions. don't be a smart-@ss
Extremely helpful professor! He's amazing at what he does and explains everything crystal clear and even adds example packets. Definetly take him!
One of the best profs i've had at Eastern! Really explains thing well. He's very entertaining and makes a difficult subject not too bad. It's definitely worth taking a class from him!
The ONLY stats teacher i would take stats from. Great teacher and explains everything very well. wants you to learn the material and succeed in his class.
Great teacher. Talks very fast. If your class is engaged and working together that is when his style works best.
Jeff is top notch: He's funny, serious, brilliant, and a bit disorganized all at the same time. The material could be considered difficult, so don't miss class, don't get behind, and most definitely learn how to make your pencil and brain work faster. He'll clue you into the important stuff, but reading the book will fill a few gaps.
Best teacher I have had at this business college. Shows how stats works in the real world and helps us apply it to real problems. Why can't other teachers at this college do this? Jeff taught me stuff I will use in business situations and doesn't waste time unpractical outdated teaching methods. He is also very lenient.
Jeff is seriously the best professor, and he does everything for a reason. I'll remember certain things forever, and I guarantee he did that on purpose. He breaks the stats up to make it understandable. Go to class and participate, your class will be rewarded. You also won't want to miss it for the sheer humor and fun.
I took Jeff last quarter and pulled a 4.0. He makes every class interesting, and you can tell that he wants his students to learn. Be prepared though to put alot of effort though. Even if you miss one class, it will hurt, and you will be completely lost in the material. I forgot to mention his midterm and final are take home. Overall, he is awesome
Jeff is an awesome guy. Very enjoyable lectures, he injects plenty of humor. Be prepared to work hard, this material is not easy but he works hard with the class to make sure you understand. Do not miss class if you can help it as he covers lots in class. Participate! I would love to take more classes with professors like him!
It seems like everyone does very well in his class. That is because he gives you take-home exams for midterm and final. However, the class is no cake-walk, you have to pay attention, and if you miss one class, you can easily be lost. Other than that, it is a great class. Just make sure to have a study buddy in class for outside work; helps alot.
Excellent teacher! He really cares about his students. He gets a little hot headed if the class is slacking off-- so pay attention. This quarter he had to change up the course. No more take-home exams and he put a lot of grade weight on the final assignment. The material is complicated but he gets you through it. I highly recommend him!
Great prof. Teaches so that you actually learn the material and not just memorize it for the tests. Recommended.
Great teacher that helps you understand the material and be able to apply it. This is an important course and he makes sure you are on the right track. Work hard and there is no reason why you shouldn't receive a good grade. Homework is straightforward, midterm was in groups of 3 or less and even let us take it home to finish.
Jeff tries really hard and gets out of his way to help his students, you just need to want to be helped. He goes over the hw every class before he sends you home so you shouldn't have any problem doing it when you get home. Mid term was take home and final was in group. So it was nice.
Really wanted his students to do well! Make sure you listen and take notes. He likes when you ask for help outside of the classroom. There's a lot of information so you have to come to class and do the homework but overall, if you have good work ethic you'll do fine.
One of the best teachers at EWU. Extremely hard class to lecture. Probably one of the most important classes I took. Give's you the real world statistics. By far better than any other statistics professor. This guy brings his knowledge from the real business.
Great Professor. Mr. Culver applies theory to real life situations. that way it makes you want to learn it.
Best teacher I've had at EWU. If you fail his class it's your own fault. He will give you every chance to succeed, highly recommend taking your STATs classes with him as well as Mktg 416. Not the easiest, but will go out of his way if you put in the work.
Jeff is the only prof to take for any stats class. He moves fast, and he can be intimidating at first. But he's a big teddy bear and will do anything to help you understand the material. He is always available to talk to you, and responds to emails quickly. Textbooks are only used for charts, so share books with a classmate!
Culver is a great teacher, he teaches business forecasting for the DSCI Minor. Class was 1 night a week in computer lab. He practically walks you through the lecture and reports that are due the following class. Easy Class if you do the work. No tests, No projects. Small Class. Extremely talkative and helpful.
Stats is a difficult class. Culver understands this & does his very best at making it understandable- he works through packets with you that are guidelines to finish your homework. Had to take the midterm by myself but the final we were able to take in groups of three. The last homework assignment is very difficult so start that as soon as you can!
I only come on this site to check out what professors I'm taking the following quarter. I don't rate. With that being said, I felt it was necessary to comment on how AWESOME this guy is. This class is DIFFICULT and DRY. Jeff Culver makes it as ENTERTAINING and easy to understand as one could. TAKE HIS CLASS. But GO TO IT. Miss one, and you're lost.
This professor is fantastic, sassy and a bit of an butt, but in a good way. He takes you through the material in a way that makes sense, step by step. He treats the students that show respect the utmost in return, fantastic professor. Going to drive 30 mins to the off campus class just to have this prof for the second level of this class.
I've taken three classes with Mr. Culver now and he is always fantastic. He will always make time to help with anything you may need. He makes boring lectures interesting, and he is super funny. I have never had a teacher that genuinely cares about the success of every student as much as he does!
i really liked his class
Fantastic professor who really went out of his way to help you succeed, he is very dedicated to his students. His tests are very hard but statistics is a difficult subject, and he really makes it approachable with his methods. This class would have been a nightmare without this professor.
Amazing professor who actually cares about his students!
Mr. Culver is one of the best teacher's I've ever had. He was so helpful to me during this class. Don't be afraid to go talk to him if you need help or are worried about your grade. He can be really intimidating in class but is totally approachable and kind in person He wants to help you however he can and is always willing to go back over material
I'm almost completely through the business core and Mr. Culver is DEFINITELY one of the best. I took him in 245 already and am taking 346 with him now. No such thing as an easy instructor for this class, but Mr. Culver is your best bet for learning the material and getting through it. Be prepared to work. Tough course.
He is a great professor that wants you to succeed and get into the next class, he is very helpful if you are confused.
Great teacher! really wants you to learn. HW is pretty simple as long as you pay attention in class because he shows you how to do it step by step. You get your handouts for the tests! don't miss class!
This professor is awesome he is very helpful and wants everyone to learn, attendance is very important.
Culver is one of the few teachers left who actually cares about his students. This is my first time taking a class from him, and I will definitely take more in the future! You absolutely have to attend class if you want to pass since he takes attendance. He goes over homework in detail during class, so attending will make your life a lot easier!
One of the only teachers I have had that truly cares about his students. He moves and talks really fast so make sure you're in class and you take notes. He makes himself readily available for students during office hours if you have questions or need extra help.
Culver is one of the best teachers at EWU. I would advise you to take him for 246 to get familiar with the program he uses there and in 345. He is passionate, energetic, and really pushes his students hard to succeed. Visit him in his office hours more than once and you will have an ally for the rest of your college career.
He is a good one ..
Mr. Culver is one of the best professors I've ever had at Eastern. Took his night class and really enjoyed the class and his teaching style. He can be fast paced and intimidating at first but it helps to read the chapters ahead of lecture and visit him during office hours. He's very knowledgeable and will do anything to help you learn the material.
Mr. Culver is a great guy! You can't be easily frazzled because he does have a harsh exterior but he cares about the subject and students learning it. He wants everyone to succeed! The lectures go pretty quick, so you have to be very attentive. He will help you if you are willing to try!
Culver is by far the BEST professor I have ever had. Easy to talk to. If you have questions, ASK! He is super friendly and will do anything to make sure his students are understanding the material. Would recommend to anyone!
His teaching style is intense and intimidating. Very stressful. He rushes through a 2 hour lecture in about 1:15. Would be nice if he slowed down a bit. Tests are tough, make sure you know the formulas AND the concepts. Talks super tough, but he's willing to do whatever it takes to help you pass if you take the initiative and ask for it.
Great teacher. Show up, Participate, Ask Questions, Work and you can't fail. He will always be there to help you if you do these things.
This is a HARD subject, but Culver is about the most reasonable stats teacher you're going to get. He does talk fast, but most really intelligent people do. It is what it is. Read the chapter before class, pay attention to the lectures, and attend plus. If you do these things, a 3.0 is very attainable for most people. Skip class, and you're done...
He's strict about attendance and for good reason. He seems hardcore at first, but once you get to know him he's a total softy. I completely recommend him as a stats teacher
I love Professor Culver!! I'm taking his DSCI 446, he's super considerate, funny and always have patience! I don't think he is a tough grader, I used to take his DSCI 246, he always gave student bonus. I ended it up with 4
Great professor. He is super hard-core during lecture but a total softy in person. He is big on respect and participation. You will not pass if you miss class. The class itself is overwhelming and I highly suggest you go to his office hours and/or plus groups. He lets you have a page of notes for exams which are heavily graded.
Decision Science is one of the hardest classes i have taken so far at Eastern. Professor Culver is a tough professor who demands a lot from his class, lectures never go the full time, the hw is hard so really be prepared to spend some time on it. Plus group will help you a lot, the midterm and final are worth a lot, but he wants people to pass.
Culver is a great choice for a professor, but this class is HARD. He was always telling us how awful we were doing and was pretty negative about the course in general, but he is definitely the professor to take this class with. This class is hard for just about everyone so the professor doesn't make the hugest difference.
He's tough as hell, but cares more than any other professor that you do well if you make the effort. Easily the best professor I've ever had. He is really intense during lecture & make sure that you participate or he will get angry. If you work hard and go to the plus group or office hours then you should be fine. I've failed stats class & 4.0 his.
DON'T TAKE HIM for DSCI 246 & 346. Jeffery is unorganized in his lectures & very confusing. It's better to take this class ONLINE with Richard and Online class prepares you well for exams, exams are take home & online. It saves time and very easy to get 4.0. In online class, save time & money and doesn't requires meeting in classrooms.
I had him for dsci 245 and just started in his 346. He's a great professor and really wants you to learn. Goes over homework examples in class before he assigns the same kind of problems. Very good at teaching and makes sure everyone is understanding. He is there for his students. As long as you show up and do the work, you will pass.
One of the best professor's I've had. He is very demanding on students to work hard in his class because the material itself is difficult. The class is tough but if you are willing to show up to class every time and make an effort to learn, he will teach you and you are guaranteed learn the material. If you need to take this class, he is the one!
He's a lot of fun as long as it not to stuck up to see it. Tests are really hard but he'll help whole class if needed. Always willing to help, wants you to get concept so u can complete any assignment given. Use and be able to explain 6-step process for all of his stuff and you'll be fine with enough effort.
Definitely the best professor I have ever had. I took him for DSCI 245 and he is an amazing professor. He is very passionate about stats and is very caring towards his students, wanting to make sure they understand everything. As long as you're willing to put in the effort, you will be just fine. Make use of his office hours and don't miss class.
The best professor I have ever had. It is not an easy class but he is always willing to help as long as you put your part. Highly recommend him!!!
Amazing professor, will check your homework during office hours before it needs to be turned in and will tell you what to change. He cares that you understand what is going on and he does wants you to pass. Understands that people hate statistics and will help as much as he can. If you want to pass DSCI 346 and you suck at stats, this is your man.
The material is somewhat difficult but he is willing to go over your homework with you before you turn it in. He grades on attendance but for a good reason, there is way too much material covered in one class to justify missing a day.
His class was the hardest class I have ever taken and yet Culver helped me learn everything. He is ruff and will yell at you to make a point but that is just his teaching style. If you can have a little thick skin you will not find a better professor.
Professor Culver is hands down the best instructor that I have ever had. He makes all of his expectations clear, and he will not set you up for failure. He does his best to accommodate and help you. He expects you to act like an adult and do your part, and if you do that you will have no problems. Not to mention his sense of humor is hilarious.
I took him for night classes once a week. This is a class I would not recommend taking online or at night. If I could do it again I would like to meet everyday. He is caring and will not put up with your attitude or you being lazy. Wants you to be successful in the class and is willing to help. Tough class topic in general. Great professor!!
Jeff is an awesome professor and has been teaching for a long time, & it shows. He knows what he is doing and there is true method to the stats madness. Some people say he 'jumps around' lecture; however, that is just the nature of the beast in regards to stats because it is layered & multi-faceted. He WANTS YOU TO DO WELL & utilize his office hrs!
super clear & to the point. keep your phone in your backpack.
Prof. Culver cares about the statistics and wants his students to learn the material. One of the best professors I have ever had, he is always willing to help you succeed if you put in the effort. I would not take this course with a different instructor. This quarter he made a huge effort in zoom meetings to make sure his students were successful.
Jeff was strict on his expectations and policies, but if you respect him he will respect you! Very helpful if you don't fully understand material and will guide you where you need to be! Can come off as harsh at first but once you get to know him and if you do the work you will have a good time! I would take again!
This class you HAVE to show up to class. If you dont. You will not pass. It is a very hard class. But the good news is that this professor is great. He is very accessible outside of class and does more tutoring than all the other professors combined. He really cares that we pass but he expects us to put in the work. If you dont you will not pass
I took 245 and 346 as night classes and they were very hard. Tough homework and long lectures. But I took his 446 class as an online summer course and it was great! He was very kind and understanding and graded easy on the assignments, plus no tests! The material for all his classes is hard no matter what, but he is the one to take to get through.
Prof. Culver made me want to change my major to Data Analytics, and I did. Need I say more? He is tough on all because he genuinely wants to to learn material. Easily best professor EWU has. I just wish he taught more upper level DSCI courses as well.
This class was a breeze for me; probably because I went to each class. The work was extremely easy. Everything is explained in the lectures, including homework. He highly encouraged using zoom hours to get help in homework before submitting. You'll probably fail if you don't go to class. You must follow along in class as well, not just sit there.
By far worst professor I've ever had, he is rude to all students and will make you feel like an idiot for asking any questions. He is impatient and harsh, unhelpful and plain mean. if you can take another teacher that isn't him you should.
Terrible professor, rude to students, would yell at students if they accidentally had their mic on or joined late. Not understanding of any extenuating circumstance. Dry lectures, rudely sarcastic. I would highly suggest a different professor.
Excellent prof! Taking him again for DSCI346. He is very helpful when he can see that you are trying. Do your part, show up to class, stay on top of the homework, and you will do well! I would not consider math to be a strength of mine but he was very patient and kind with me. Very personable too, great guy! Asks about my goats lol. 11/10!
Professor Culver is the most caring professor that I have had during COVID. He comes off very strong, but that is because he wants everyone to succeed in his class. If you show up and participate in all lectures the course work is very manageable. He is not a teacher who is trying to trick his students.
Professor Culver has no patience, especially for online classes. He doesn't record all of his lectures for students who can't make it to zoom meetings and he is overall, very impolite.
He starts off as a mean old grump but once you understand he wants the best out of you he makes you work for the grade you get. Lectures are scheduled at exact times and will gladly give help with homework during lectures but if students are leaving no help is given. Worth your time to show up and work for what you want.
His class was very hard especially after having a bad pre requisite. If you try he will help you and wants you to learn. He actually puts lots of effort into his teaching and material.
Provides hand outs that cover everything he discusses in lecture, and is always willing to answer questions.
Doesn't has homework or homework format organized. I had to go back every time to look for the correct homework format. He sends out two once and I used the wrong one. He took off a lot of points. So, very unorganized on his part. And there are times where he sends notifications so you have to skim through the notifications to find the homework.
Worst professor at EWU and could not care less about students. He is rude during lectures and makes you feel like an idiot. If you can avoid taking his class I highly suggest you do so. This professor also hates when students email him and can be very hostile towards you if he does not like you.
Culver is a great professor and very informative. You must attend lectures or you will not pass. Everything is handed to the student to succeed in this course with step-by-step instruction for each homework assignment and he is very helpful if you go to office hours. There is only one 2-3 hour assignment per week, so if students fail its on them.
Professor Culver comes off intimidating at first but overtime he grows on you. He wants students to succeed and is a nice guy. In the end, the class is very rewarding and you will learn from Culver.
I had a terrible experience with my prereq for this class and had put off taking 346 for around 4 quarters. Mr. Culver was fantastic and helped get me through and I passed with flying colors. His handouts are the best I've received from a teacher. Take notes and pat attention, and ask questions. He's willing to help and wants you to pass,
Prof Culver is one of the best prof I have had in the 3 years of being a EWU student. He comes off strong but he really cares about his students and takes his time to really make sure you understand the material since this course is very intense.
It's tough, but if you come to class, ask questions and come in for office hours, you will do well. With all the new information, be ready for the first few weeks to be overwhelming, but the professor does an excellent job at preparing you for your homework assignments and exams. Just be sure to always be responsive during class!
Culver is an outstanding professor. I have taken every class I can with him at EWU and they have all been amazing. The handouts tell you exactly what you have to do for every assignment, so if you fail you failed yourself. Office hours with him are extremely helpful and he will answer any question you ask. He is a funny professor and cares.
Im not sure why this professor is rated so highly. He doesn't seem to understand that his students may work for have a life outside of his class. He makes me feel like an idiot for asking for clarification. I have taken two classes from him and I came to him during office hours with a question and he told me I should have learned this by now
Kind of a chaotic vibe. You learn a lot, but it is very stressful in the meantime. He seems intimidating, but he is actually pretty nice and helpful if you have questions.
A tough class but Jeff is a total bro. If you're a bro, and you know about bro's, you'll really like him.
His statistics class was okay, but his multivariate data analysis class had such ridiculously confusing directions, I don't know how anyone could get a good grade unless they email him every day, to figure out what he's asking you to do. Many like him, but for multivariate data analysis, I don't know how people absorb anything he is saying.
Jeff is an awesome professor, he is very intimidating, but he is very knowledgable and has a passion for his work. The class is very difficult (and overwhelming, I got headaches almost on the daily in class), and you need to keep up and ask questions as you go, but overall I think Jeff has taught me more than any other professor has at Eastern.
Would not recommend.
Jeff is an awesome professor! He genuinely cares for the students success and is always willing to help by either email, office hours, and at the beginning or end of class. However, you HAVE to go to his lectures. I recommend the 6-9:50 lectures, he barely goes past 8:30-9 and sends plenty of help your way.
This professor talks fast and only explains things once. You will be using all of your print credits for this class. Also does not grade fair or consistently.
Prof. Culver is a professor who genuinely cares deeply about his lectures and it shows in his teaching style. He wants the best for his students and he's my favorite professor I've had at Eastern so far. I appreciated his course greatly, he will challenge you but as long as you come in with a great attitude and eagerness to learn you'll do great.
Professor Culver is super passionate about what he is teaching. He likes to include the whole class while lecturing, so be prepared to respond to questions he is asking, he does this to make sure the class understands what is being taught. Following the hw outline will allow you to pass this class with flying scores.
Culver is an excellent professor, I have taken multiple classes with him and he is great. He genuinely cares about his student's success and is highly passionate about the material.
Professor Culver can be intimidating at first for some people, but he is a really great educator. His primary goal is for you to understand the process, not simply regurgitate info. Attending his lectures is a must, the content is a bit difficult, but he is always willing to help clarify. I would highly recommend this professor!!
I was having trouble during my first week of this class. He scheduled a zoom call with me so I can understood what he was looking for on the assignment. Some are short and very easy while others tend to be longer. Ask questions and watch the lectures!
Mr. Culver is a great professor and I highly recommend taking his class. He explains every hw assignment well so you shouldn't get lost at all.
He is very unreachable and hard to work with. He does not allow students to use their accomodations (illegal) and loves to give 0's. If you are off by one decimal on any project answer the highest grade he would give is a B for that assignment. Overall very unreasonable and doesn't treat you like a person. He has a god-complex.
I took his class Mondays from 5:30pm-9:50pm as the classes are scheduled for 4 hours he always had class finished within 2 hours. He teaches exactly what you need to know, also hands out step-by-step instructions that he goes over in the class.
Very poorly laid out class.
Jeff is a great professor because he actually teaches, the students giving him 1/5's don't want to learn stats, they just want an A and Jeff doesn't play that game. He is very willing to help and his teaching methods have helped me through my masters degree stats class. Quit complaining about Jeff, it's stats and it can be hard, study more.
Professor Culver is passionate and engaging. The workload can be challenging, but attending lectures and using resources like Unstuck study really help. Overall, a rewarding course if you put in the effort.
Knew what he was teaching, but was hard to reach at times and never gave clear feedback on how to improve. Feedback also just feels like he's bashing your work, rather than helping to fix it. Other than that he's a decent teacher, it's clear that he understands his material well. It's a difficult class with a large workload.
I took this class online and it was great. His lectures helped so much in completing homework as the problems were very similar and sometimes would walk us through what to write for homework assignments. Midterm and final were unlimited time, multiple choice, and allowed two tries.
Jeffs class can be daunting at first but he really seems to care and actually grades fairly, his humor can be dry at times but other then that I have nothing bad to say, make sure you show up to class and actually try and learn the material and you will be fine.
Ive had Jeff for both stats 1 and 2 and its pretty easy. He does allow for exams to be taken at home based on class attendance and allows open notes. However, SASSY!!! I cringe every time I see someone raise their hand. One time he asked the class a question and when someone responded, he goes "yeah thats not even right" and moved on. AWKWARD
