great guy, great teacher
this guy teaches like he wants you to learn
The best lab instructor/prof at the U of L
Lab teacher for 2000 level class. Great curler at the local club. Helped me with a project even though I didnt show up for a single class of his. What a nice guy!
Kind of confusing to listen to, because he thinks out loud and it's hard to tell if you should listen or not. Very approachable.
seems confused. nice, but confused.
easy material, repeats himself over and over and often seems confused, but still gets the point accross, over and over and over
Excellent teacher, really wants you to learn, he mumbles sometimes, but he's cute anyway. Great teacher, he cares!
If it weren't for Jeff's lab clarification after the classes well, I know I wouldn't have done well. Knows his stuff, confusing when thinking out loud during an explanation. Crap, if he doesn't get it right the first time! Because you now know how not

best lab teacher i had in any class.
If it weren't for Jeff, there's no way I would have made it through the class. By far the best instructor.
Dam he is hot!
Jeff is a really nice guy. He talks at our level and does not try to impress us with any fancy professor lingo. The worst thing about this class is the lab quizes. Although it is open book some of the questions are very hard. Quizes were more stressful than final exam.
Was usually late, unhelpful and an unorganized, hard marker!
Funny guy. Exams are a little bit hard.
Jeff is a good lab instructor, but not so great in class. He writes exams so that you cannot finish them. Know your sh*t!
Jeff is a great teacher and he tries to be as helpful as possible. Great lab teacher and even better prof. If you have to take this stupid course, do yourself a favour and take it with him... I hear no one does better.
Jeff is a very nice and friendly guy and he will help you to solve every your question. However, his midterm will be difficult.
Jeff's awesome. I retook econ 1010 with him, after bombing it with a big fat D taking it with Townley... and now I find that 2900 is so much easier than it would be with any other prof that I've had... It's not that his class is easy, it's just that he relates everything to real life, and goes way out of his way to help you do well... awesome guy.
Jeff is the best professor I have had at the University.
GREAT teacher, very very in depth teaching, has good examples that help students relate. Encourages questions and answers them with exteme detail no matter how dumb the question is, not to mention he's funny. Would reccommend him to anyone.
Jeff's my hero! He's so funny, approachable, and understanding. Even though the class averages were kind of low, her curved our grades if we improved on later exams. Awesome guy.
He really is a great professor for the masses but I found if you approach him personally after class he isn't quite as glowing as he is in class. His 1-on-1 isn't quite as upbeat as he comes across in class. His teaching though is excellent. I had him recommended and I'd pass on that recommendation.
Jeff is a role model teacher. Super nice and often had interesting examples. My only complaint is that I felt he used graphs a bit more than necessary to explain concepts. The tests were reasonable and he would often give the class extra marks on the test.
Davidson is a great prof! He is easy and has interesting classes! If possible take classes with him!
Jeff's a great guy. Down to Earth. Kevin Smith look-alike, which is always midly entertaining in its self. Lab quizzes can be a pain in the ass, but are helpful in the long run.
Jeff is very helpful. He puts things into perspective.

so i thought i was screwed when i got an econ prof who was hard to understand, but his tutorials really helped me through this class. I eventually stopped going to my econ classes and just went to the tutorials cuz i founf them more informitve. The guy really tries to relate econ to reality, and refrains from dumb farfetched textbook examples.
Great prof! i'd definatly take another class with him if possible. Its not an easy class but if you keep up with him and do the lab quizes its not bad at all. Keeps class as interesting as econ can be.
HE DOESN'T ALWAYS KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT HE FREQUENTLY GETS MIXED UP IN CLASS. SEEMS LIKE HE IS LEARNING ALONG WITH US. HE TRIES TO PUT IN JOKES TO NOT MAKE LECTURES DRY THAT IS GOOD. THANK GOD FOR THE LABS OR I WOULDNT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. YOU GET LAB QUESTIONS AND HE GIVES YOU THE ANSWERS IN CLASS IT REALLY HELPS.HE DRINKS COFFEE 24/7
this guy is a sickkkkkk teacher, had j.allen first time around he was bruutal compared to davidson. id take a bullet for this guy
This was possibly the best teacher i have ever had. The midterms are a little to long for the time you have however he is willing everything in his power to make everyone successful.

DON'T BUY THE BOOKS - take notes. Jeff's just THAT good. This guy's cool beans. He's a teddy bear (so cute)! He did both lectures and labs, so they were in tune and productive. Lab practice questions suck, but do them; they help! Many of the midterm/final questions were off the lab practice questions. All multiple choice, but thorough. Thanks Jeff!
WOW. LOVE HIS STYLE OF TEACHING, THEORY BACKED UP WITH LIVE EXAMPLES. EXAMS ARE REALLY TRICKY, WATCH OUT FOR THEM.
This class is pretty challenging for a 1000 level but a good mark is still doable. A large portion of the grade comes from a presentation; pretty easy marks if you don't mind public speaking and do some research. The tests are quite challenging and he expects a lot. However the material is quite interesting and he provides a lot of supplement.
Jeff is arguably the best prof I've ever had, however so far definitely the best prof I've had that teaches a class corresponding with my management major. Very helpful and clear in his lectures. If you like extra practice buy his textbook. But he lectures so well you really don't even need to use it. Jeffy is the man!
Phenomenal teacher! Labs are really helpful. Teaches you exactly what you will need to know on the exam. Exam questions are a little more difficult than lab questions but they are pretty straight forward. He's willing to help you if you're willing to put the time in. Take a class with this guy!
Jeff was the best prof. I have had here at U of L. He is hilarious but at the same time knows his stuff and knows how to teach it properly. Take Jeff if you can!
Great Prof. Had two classes with him and both classes were great. He makes class interesting and gives good examples. Very helpful outside of class. Jeff is the best prof at the UofL!
Good prof, tried to make a boring class interesting. Notes were a little hard to follow, but overall good teacher, the final was worse than expected though compared to the midterms.
Made economics as interesting as possible, but did lack clarity of the content that needed to be learned. Sometimes he would just ramble on an example and the conclusion would be the class still confused. But overall he is a pretty chill professor.
Interesting prof. At times his explanations could be a bit wonky and confusing, but if you work at it the concepts are pretty easy. Pro-tip: USE THE TEXTBOOK! Cannot stress that enough. Get ready to read/use a LOT of graphs. Midterms aren't too bad if you put the work in and he's a pretty chill and funny prof too.
Best funniest prof ever! Wants you to succeed! Love his energy. Just makes your day better!!!
Alright, this guy is pretty cool and I liked him. However, with some of the more complicated concepts, his explanations got pretty confusing. Use the textbook!!! The textbook is great for graphs and really helps with this course. Not necessarily a GPA booster, but it's not that difficult either. Great prof.
Fairly easy class, just use your textbook! Seriously, his explainations can get somewhat convaluted and not make any sense, however, the textbook is great! The graphs within it are superb at explaining some of the more difficult concepts. Overall, not too bad of a class, you just have to put a bit of work in. Recommended prof.
Jeff is a great guy. By far the best professor I have had at the University of Lethbridge and funny too!!! Go to class, pay attention, and you will ACTUALLY take something out of his classes you can use in the real world.
<3 That is all. Thanks Jeff for giving me a class that I actually want to show up to. You should teach other profs how to do the same!
Easy-going, honest guy. Love that every question in class is a "great question!"... bahaha <3 you Jeff... Wants you to succeed, but make sure you show up to class -- he doesn't email out homework or post it online. Class website could be prettier. Good teacher overall!
This guy is fantastic. Explains things clearly and actually wants you to do well. This is the first class I've had at this university that I both feel will be useful in real life AND enjoyed going to every day. Way to be, Jeff.
Jeff's a great prof. For this class you're best off reading the textbook before classes, as he moves very fast through his explanantions, and if you haven't done the reading, it's very difficult to follow. Other than that, he's my favourite prof
Go to class. Do your work. Study Hard. Great Prof
JEFF. What a BEAUTY! hilarious laugh, always made me laugh. Great guy, loves to help you succeed and offers bonus assignment marks. Def recommend this class, Jeff is great loved him!
Great Prof. Easy to comprehend and fun to talk to (in class and on the smoke balcony) I would highly recommend taking his class!
Jeff is without a doubt one of the best professors at the university, a great guy who enjoys teaching and truly wants to see all his students succeed, fantastic class, fantastic prof
Jeff is a boss! His method of teaching should be studied, engineered, bottled, and sold to every prof in the world!
Jeff is a killer prof. For all you business students that are worried about taking stats 2, take it with Jeff. He makes formulas super easy to understand and he's easy to talk to after class. if you aren't a math whiz but you work hard he's the prof for you
Davidson is such an awesome teacher! He made the difficult portions of the course very understandable and fun. He is very approachable, and always willing to help his students so succeed. His exams are multiple choice, and somewhat difficult. As long as you pay attention, and go over key points in the textbook you will be fine.
Great lab prof. Makes examples easy to understand. Always available to help.
Jeff was an amazing teacher. His course is perfect. He has taught it so many times that you can feel that he knows the material inside and out. I will forever recommend him as a professor. Only recommendation is that this material is SUPER valuable to future courses. Great course taught by great professor.
Jeff is an awesome instructor. One of the best at U of L. Pay attention and do the assignments and you will do great. Very helpful instructor, I suck at math but did great thanks to Jeff :)
Jeff is still my favorite prof at U of L, I have had him for both Econ 2900 and Econ 1010 lab. Without question I would take any class he teaches if I could and would highly recommend him to anyone. Econ 2900 would be a very difficult course if Jeff didn't teach it and if you need to take a second level stats course this is the one to take.
jeff is a great teacher. he explains things really well and has the best lectures.
Jeff is a pretty sweet guy! Down to earth
Jeff is pretty awesome! He's really funny and makes class lectures fairly interesting. While he is sometimes unclear about how to solve a problem (typically equations), he tries his best and is always willing to offer help outside of class. His tests are multiple choice and his quizzeshomework are super easy.
I heard great things about Jeff as a stats prof, and was really hoping to have him for lectures this semester. Unfortunately, Jeff ended up teaching the labs for 2900 instead, but he made everything that made my head spin from the lectures much more clear. If you need to take this course try to get it with Jeff teaching the lectures and not Duane
Jeff is a great teacher, he goes through material thoroughly, and makes lectures interesting and fun, minimal studying needed to obtain good grade.
Jeff is an amazing prof. I would definitely take a class with him again. He knows his stuff and will admit if he made a mistake. There are take home quizzes and he will drop your lowest 2-3 marks. Midterm was a bit tough but you just have to do a lot of practice problems. Grading scheme is amazing. Anything above an 80 is an A
I LOVE Jeff! This is the second class I've taken from him, and I always recommend him to my peers. He's funny and has great examples in class, so going to class will be a huge help. He goes through step-by-step how to solve the questions, and pretty much tells you what kind of questions will be on the exams. Always gives the chance for bonus marks
He overexplains some things but for the final I was very grateful that he did. He is super nice and is willing to help you as much as you need. My favorite professor that I have ever had at the U of L. He gives lots of examples which is super helpful for the assignments and final.
Jeff was by far the best prof I've had in Economics. His lectures are meant to complement the text -in his words "I'm not teaching you economics, you are." you need to read the text to pass the course and his lectures promote great discussion. Agriculture focused prof so thats a plus
Jeff Davidson teaches a very good and entertaining class. He focuses mainly on the tougher concepts while expecting students to study alone the simpler information. If you put the work in and use the study guide given the class is not terribly difficult.
Amazing Prof. Taking another class with him because of his ability to teach very hard concepts in easy terms. Does expect you to read text and he teaches the more difficult concepts. Responds to emails within minutes. Very helpful! Lots of room with small quizzes to boost mark up.
Jeff's lectures are vey engaging - very good at relating concepts of the course to concepts and situations that students can relate to and understand. Good prep for exams, no surprises on them. Would take again for sure
Would not recommend taking any classes with this prof. I missed a few classes due to an ongoing illness and surgery, however i pushed myself to go to many classes when i was very sick and in pain, studied for hours on end, completed all tests and assignments, which the prof took note of and still failed me. He was not accommodating at all.
Jeff is a great prof! He really knows how to explain the difficult concepts in a way that makes it seem easy. Class is mostly just going through problems but that's how you learn how to do it! Weekly quizzes, the best 10 count. A midterm and a final, each worth 40% of your total grade. Its a tough course but he makes it as easy as it could be!
I have taken multiple classes with Jeff as he is one of my favourite Profs. His teaching style is all lecture based, no powerpoint slides. He explains everything in detail and clearly , with many examples. Midterm and Final are worth 40% each though so make sure you are prepared our you can slip fast.
Pretty good prof, just lots of textbook reading for the online quizzes, pretty easy class though if you show up and study
Jeff is an awesome prof. He is a very passionate lecturer and cares about his students. Although you should never miss his classes. He goes through a lot of material and a lot of useful examples in class, and if you miss them, you will have a very hard time understanding. Midterm was very hard, make sure you really understand the concepts.
Super good prof! One of my favourites here, he makes the lectures relatable and funny while still teaching the important concepts. Super easy to go to for help or questions, really approachable and willing to help. Doesn't use PowerPoint slides and goes out of the textbook so make you show up for lectures. Exams are relatively easy
Took in the Summer of 2017. Really good prof. Lectures are clear to understand. He makes you earn every inch in this class though. There is a homework problem for marks due every class. He will help you understand the concepts but will not tell you if you have the question correct until after it has been marked. Would take a class from again.
Jeff isn't a bad prof. His lectures are entertaining and he's good at explaining the concepts, however I found him very difficult to reason with one on one. Not as approachable as I was hoping for. The midterm and final are very difficult. Overall good class if you keep up with the content on your own as well as attend each lecture.
Jeff is a really caring professor. He's more than willing to help if you are stuck and really wants to see his students do well. He takes into consideration that you have other classes and is willing to do what it takes to minimize stress.
Don't miss a class. His classes are so helpful because he just does examples but they are exactly like the exam. His examples helped so much, he really wants his students to succeed. Whatever he teaches, is on the exam, and he doesn't surprise you with anything new. Just go to his class and follow along the example and you'll pass.
Took it summer 2018, 12 take home quizzes but he chooses top 10; 30%. Midterm 35%, Final 35%. He is very specific when grading especially wording wise. His in class problems are helpful when doing the take home quizzes.
Jeff is a great professor. He has enthusiasm for his work, and it really shows in his lectures. He teaches very well and very in depth. Sometimes too in depth. But he always gets his point across. He will tell you what to study for for the written response section of the mid-term, which leaves you with no guessing at what your test will look like.
Jeff is a very passionate instructor. Grading was very clear 25% for assignments, 25% each midterm and 25% for the final. Didn't need the textbook as slides from the book were posted on Moodle. Weekly quizzes were really helpful. Always go to class because he really helps you grasp the concepts and prepare for the written portion of the exams.
He's one of the most fair professors out there. But he makes you work for it, the mid term and the finals are extremely difficult with little to none margin for error. Since most of the problems build on themselves, if you get a answer wrong there goes your whole mid/final. As a prof, he's excellent and i really enjoyed his class.
Jeff is funny and wonderful, the class is incredibly difficult but I think Jeff is the best person to teach it. He is thorough and really gives you all the tools for success.
The best prof I have ever had. He cares that the students in his class learn and he provides the opportunity to do so.
I enjoyed Jeff's lectures because of how animated he gets when talking about economics. He takes a seemingly boring and difficult subject and makes it easier to understand. There are small online quizzes to take on moodle, and larger exams comprised of multiple-choice online exams and in-class written components.
I have taken 2 classes with Jeff and will take as many more as I can. If you take his study advice and follow along in class you will do good if you're putting in the work. His lectures are the best I have had in university as he provides practical knowledge that you can use outside of school as well. Highly recommended.
best proff ive had in my 4 years. Makes modelling easy and simple to understand. I did not have any problems with this course by just doing the assigned work and assignments. AG 3300 set me up to be succesfull in AG 4300. Jeff is hilarious and caring but straightforward with his expectations.
i took 3300 with Jeff so it set me up perfectly for 4300, avdanced modelling. The class itself is pretty straightforward and example based. Lectures are composed of working together through the models. I recommend you take the prereq with Jeff because he touches back on 3300 alot while teaching. The material is pretty tough but it is a 4000 course
I'm taking this as an online summer class that is run only for a month. We had daily quizzes and assignments but Jeff is an AMAZING professor. Explains things in a way that makes sense and explains why things are done. Gives helpful feedback on quizzes. His video lectures are amazing and easy to follow! Two thumbs up from me!
Jeff was a good professor, however, online wasn't great with him. All of his lectures were pre-recorded. This made it really hard to stay engaged. He posted so many videos, often I forgot which one I was supposed to watch next. And on top of that, he always cut out at the end of the videos mid-thought, and in the next video, he did'nt include it.
Only had him online, but this is my third course with Jeff. He's very down to earth, and his quizzes are in the style of in depth problems. He posts videos that really dig deep into how to solve problems and what solutions actually mean. This supplements a pretty heavy textbook workload.
Jeff is an amazing instructor. He gives great feedback and explains a tough subject in a relatable manner. For his online class the textbook work was pretty heavy, but quizzes/exams were very fair. I highly recommend him, great instructor!
I attended every lecture this semester and found that to be sufficient to pass the course, so it's safe to say his lectures are quite good. On top of that, the textbook supplied great practice questions. Great at explaining concepts and problems, and put a lot of emphasis on what the answers truly mean and how they explain the problem. Fav prof!
Amazing professor. His way of conducting exams is little different from what i expected and never miss any of his classes. He delivers the content superbly so just a little extra effort from outside will be more than sufficient to get through this course with flying colours. He responds to the mails and also available outside class.
This was my second time taking Econ1010, the first time was with a different prof. Davidson delivered this course SO. MUCH. BETTER. This man had me doing homework for fun after classes. As long as you do your part as a student and try your best you will pass.
I took this course (ECON 2900) during the summer in a 3 week cycle. There was a lot of work, basically everyday there was a "quiz" but most were simple enough and he took the best 10/14 with the first one basically being a give-me. The work was not overly difficult and any mistakes were covered and he was willing to answer questions emailed to him.
Jeff is a great prof. He does all he can to make this class fun and worthwhile. Quizzes aren't very hard but I found the exams to be more on the difficult side, but still completely fair. If you don't attend class you will not pass this class.
The best, worth every dollar tbh
Amazing teacher! Took this course in 3 weeks in July but he made it so much better! He took our best 10/15 quizzes and was fair with the grading and clear about what he expected if you show up to the daily meetings. I only found the exams a bit tougher but still very fair considering they are open book. If you work hard, you will get a good grade!
Econ daddy! Absolutely hilarious guy and helps you understand everything in a straightforward way. No tricks on the exams, but do practice. If you get it in class and practice at home, you'll be fine. If you don't, he provides many opportunities to see him and get help. If you did good in your previous Stats class(es), you'll most likely be fine.
Jeff Davidson's ECON 2900 course has been one of my favorite classes during my time at the UofL. He is a great lecturer and he really prepares you for what is going to be on the exam, and he makes sure that you understand what is going on before he moves onto the next topic in the course. If you have chance to take a course from him, do it!
HE IS THE BEST ECON PROF IVE EVER HAD.
Hands down best prof! If you have the chance to take him, wait to get in his class. He is super flexible and wants you to do good. Hes a prof that ACTUALLY knows how to teach...
If I was any of you people and had the opportunity to have a class with the guy, avoid it at all costs. I understand everyone here is gassing him up to be some funny guy and a great prof if you "pay attention", but he is the opposite. Constantly talks about the jitters he gets from smoking, and doesn't answer emails at all. Theres more but no space
Great professor overall, makes the material engaging. Textbook is helpful, and quizzes are fair. Attendance is a must. Unstuck study was a useful supplement for exam prep.
I had an A+ the whole semester and didn't miss one class. The last week of classes he didn't have in person lectures, only videos. He emailed us what the exam would be on but when taking the final exam, it was nothing like what he told us to study and I did bad on it. I'm a straight A student and ended with a B+ and I'm really frustrated.
