awesome teacher. he is very helpful, and willing to explain something to you until it makes sense. has a good sense of humor.
This class was very hard. Alot of material and the tests were extreamly hard. Good instructor, great sense of humor, but a difficult class.
Great teacher. If you want to know accounting this is person to take it from.
Great teacher! Very helpful ! Gives u a chance to pull an A even if U get one D on a test!
Good instructor, though online is mostly self learning. Some busy work, and homework is not graded for accuracy - both bad and good. Tests are pretty easy, though should be studied for.
Highly recommend this teacher. I actually learned something in this class.
The tough part of the class is learning straight out of the book. I would recommend BA 95 first. The teacher is a liberal grader on homework. Overall, I would recommend.
I took all of the accounting classes on the web, as long as you do the work and read along with the schedule you will do fine.
Recommended teacher for online classes. He's on top of emails, and gives you a very clear outline of what he expects of you each week. You're not required to participate in the discussion board, thankfully. If you like learning on your own, this is the teacher to help you along!
I took this class online, and found it frustrating to get responses back or anykind of help from Mr. Edwards or from classmates. Unlike the person below me, I wish that the discussion board was used more! I also wish we could have worked at our own pace, I could have class complete in 3 weeks!
Always got a response within 2 days of any of my emails. Again, was clear in what he expected of you. Definitely no complaints here. Though, going to warn you, what you get is what you get. I was 2 points shy of an A out of 600 points so I received an 89.667% and got a B for the class. He's very set in that regard. But it's what you earned anyhow.
I took the hybrid versions of both BA 211 and 212 from Prof. Edwards. You have one lecture a week but all assignments/quizzes/tests are on-line, therefore open note/open book. Very easy to get an A if you try. He was an accountant first and now teaches just because he enjoys it. He is good at relating the material to the workplace.
Good teacher with real experience as an accountant. He keeps up with today's business industry. A respected teacher that runs a good class. Not too boring for an accounting class. I really recommend his hybrid courses.
I never met him person, I took classes online 2 terms. Great teacher!
Jeff's online accounting class was very straight forward. If you do the homework you'll get an A on the weekly quiz. Homework was easy and he gives examples to match against the homework. 10 question quizes. Always responds to questions. I would recommend this teacher.
very good instructor, he teaches from the heart.
This teacher post everything online at the beginning then he's done for the term. I've taken many online classes that have been interactive and interesting within a dull subject, but this takes the cake. He certainly could do more, or should i say could have done anything to make this class actually useful. Too much time with Groucho Marks!
Midterm and final are hard and long! Aside from that the weekly homework is very manageable do the homework and quizzes and you'll do good. Overall I would recommend him.
Mr. Edwards is a great instructor. He is very easy to follow and has a knack for explaining the material so that it is crystal clear. Highly recommended!
He teaches both in class and over-the-web. You basically learn everything on your own from the textbook in online version. Grades are based on multiple choice quizzes and electronically submitted homework. You'll get an A as long as you do good on exam/quiz & keep up on HW. full pts on HW based on compltn, right or wrong :P
I have taken all of my accounting courses with Jeff, and love having him as an instructor. He takes the pressure off of taking the courses required for Business. I recommend taking BA 211-213 w/ him!
Teacher wouldn't take any late work for an online course, which is terrible for a class designed to accomodate people with a lot going on. In three terms of taking all online classes, he's the first teacher who hasn't accepted late work. The assignments are straight from the book -- pointless. Definition of a throw away class.
This class is an easy "C". If you do the weekly homework you are practically guaranteed a "C". You really need to work and be a little lucky to get an "A". If you're undisciplined, do not even attempt the web class. Overall, it's taught right out of the book, so if you like learning in that format, this class is for you!
Took for online Acct III class. Challenging text book, but he kept the class fair by answering e-mail quickly, and heavily weighting homework assignments towards final grade. Also curved tests based on class performance. Would recommend for this class.
Good teacher, hard class. He is helpful and responds quickly. Be careful of the tests... trick questions earned me my first B and every assignment I got 100%. Go figure.... live and learn
This is one of the worst online courses I have taken. The assignments are put up and you are left on your own. Other classmates complained about assignments getting lost or fairly ungraded... this is extremely true. If you are looking for a teacher to connect with, pick anyone else.
Challenging class, even more challenging teacher. I missed one quiz and my grade dropped from C+ to a solid D. Homework is quite easy but quizes are impossibly hard. I took accounting two years in high school and none of it helped me with this class. what a shame.
Hard topic with a hard instructor. I had a really hard time with this instructor. He doesn't help at all.
Took this as an online course and would definitely recommend. Jeff is clear that no late work is accepted and repeats this thoughout the course. As long as the work is done on time, you will pass. Quizzes are challenging but ensure knowledge. I am taking this teacher next term for 212
If you can take Edwards for accounting. Its easy, especially online. Do the work! Don't be late!
I would not recommend the online class for BA212 if you really want to learn the subject matter. Instructor sometimes responds promptly to E-mail, however, his responses are abrupt. Homework is manageable and easy with sample online tutorials. There are weekly quizzes that have some difficult questions. I had to really apply myself to earn an A.
Will not accept late homework at all, even if there was an emergency. One missed assignment due to a death in the family cause my grade to go down a complete letter grade. Quizes and tests are quite difficult. Homework is easy, dont even have to have the right answers, just fill in the blank with random numbers and you get credit. RUDE TEACHER!!!!!
This is a great online class. He makes it very clear what he expects. The homework is usually easy, but can take some time to complete. Tests and quizzes are challenging. I've taken his online class for BA 211, 212, and now 213. I would definitely recommend him.
I've taken all 3 accounting courses with him, two hybrids and one online. His online setup is very user friendly, and gives you until the following Monday, Instead of the usual Friday to turn in assignments and quizzes. An assignment and quiz per week, midterm and final. In extremely helpful in class.
I took the entire 3 terms with Edwards online. His classes all have the same set up and are realitively easy to follow. This class was the most challenging but was able to pass. Would recommend Edwards to anyone who is comfortable with self learning.
Not very helpful. Moves to quickly with not enough clarification or explanation. Not very flexible.
This teacher was not clear at all. What was on the test was not what anyone studied. He goes to fast and doesn't explain. Will NOT work with you. Stay away!
Not impressed. I am taking a class with him online. His quizzes and tests are extremely hard and do not always reflect what the text says.
I took the online class and it was very easy to follow. Just read the book and follow the examples and you will do well. Pay attention to the wording in quizzes and tests as some questions can be tricky! I felt like it was an easy A because the professor gave pretty easy examples to follow for the most part.
Horrible class, his online directions were unclear and I had to use a different book from a previous class to figure out some of the homework problems.
This is my 3rd class in a row with him. great teacher online, i can go at my own pace.. tests are fair, and no need for stupid posts discussing things, just assignments and tests. Alot of the assignments have demo problems which help when your stuck and just generally help overall. Responds fairly quick. I have taken BA211, BA212, and BA 213 by him
This guy tends to make his tests as hard as possible, with things like reverse algebra to just find solutions. He says "oh there wont be a need for formula's" Then shoves tons of formula questions in the tests. All my friends took this course online, and got good grades. Just wait until its online, hes a dolt and doesn't deserve to see you.
Rude teacher, avoid if possible. Does not like class participation, especially questions.
Definitely take this teacher, I am taking him for an online Accounting course and it is awesome. VERY clear, you know exactly what you need to do in order to get a good grade. I highly recommend this class. Good luck!
Took online. Very straigtforward assignments, but don't be late. Exams are difficult, but assignments are easy, so to get a good grade, the student should be self-motivated. I got an A, but had to do additional studying. I'm usually an A student anyway, but I had to work more for this A.
DO NOT take an online class from him. He never was helpful or answered any of my emails, which I think is beyond rude. The tests and assignments were hard and you can never be late. He never offered extra credit if something were to happen. If you are going to take this class online I recommend taking another teacher.
Warning, uses Connect for quizzes and tests. Formulas are different from the book with items left out to do the calculations. Did very bad on all 10 question quizzes and 40 queston tests. No discussion at all. Never heard from inst. Even the internet follows the calculations in the book, so no help there. On line, would't suggest.
Took an on campus class for BA 222. I got to skip the final because he throws out one grade of 4. Homework is gone over class and then you get to turn it in, easy 100%. Just have to show up to class. Like him so much took an online class BA 242. This was a very and I will say it again very easy class. He enjoyed class participation.
Mr. Edwards instructs a straight forward and clear cut course. Everything needed to pass this class online is right in the textbook. No strings attached. Great online organization.
Mr. Edwards offers a very organized online course. This was the most challenging accounting course thus far, and provided crucial and applicable tools that can be utilized in almost any business setting.
Horrible!Did well in all accounting classes in the past and it was impossible to pass this one with an A. Most points were in the Midterm and Final where you were not given sufficient review material to prepare for.Found myself fumbling through the textbook and 2 McGraw sites for guidance!Questions asked via email never answered either.
Class was pretty straight-forward. Text book and online workbook were pretty easy to follow. Mr. Edwards was easy to contact, and helped me quickly with any issues I had. Highly recommended instructor!
Very easy class, but don't expect much help if needed. You can expect a snide comment, but not much help. However, it's a very easy class, the tests and quizzes are simple, and the workload is light.
Very straight forward class, do the assignments on time and you will get a good grade. He even offers extra credit points. One HW assignment and quiz each week, plus a mid-term and final. I highly recommend this instructor.
Vey easy cass because it is very clear and straight forward. Had 1 assignment and 1 quiz weekly, mid term and a final. Had a B only because I missed 2 weeks, otherwise it would be an A.
This is by far the most useless class I've taken. No learning involved and the teacher makes you sign up for MyFinanceLab/Pearson (better shell out more $ for his salary). No learning involved. The homework problems are math problems (kindergarten-level). Good class to take if you want an A from doing no work.
Edwards is an awesome teacher! I did in-class but could've easily taken it online since everything is on Connect. In-class he gives lots of explanation, Q&A time, & real-life experiences. The online PPT notes are AWESOME. HW prob & quiz each week. 3 non-cumulative exams. Exams basically same as quizzes. Lots xtra cr avail. Would def take again!
I wish I could be an instructor like him, no need to do anything just tell my students to purchase a $125 online access code and let the website does all the work and yet getting paid. WORST CLASS I'VE TAKEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE!
Pretty much 100% of the work is done through Connect, which is pretty bogus but all online business classes through PCC do this. Late work was not accepted, however a 76% was a B and 86% was an A, which was pretty cool.
I had no interaction with the instructor at all. Class uses connect website. One homework question and 10 question quiz each week. 40 question midterm and final online with a 3 hour allotted time. Glad I took this class online. Tons of note and the book helped on the final. If you are just checking accounting off the list take them all online.
This is the worse teacher I've ever had at PCC. First of all, he doesn't "teach" anything. You have to buy the overpriced and newest edition of the textbook and you need the access code, so you can take the class on Pearson's website rather than PCC's D2L. This teacher never responds to Emails and he's not there all of the time. Ridiculous. 010.
Stay away from this guy. He's completely absent through the entire class while another site does all the teaching for him. It seems that every PCC business class doesn't use D2L but instead uses external websites with access codes (which you have to pay more money to access, like $120 more, not inclusive with your tuition). Waste of time and money.
I never leave reviews on this site but unfortunately I had to sign up for this professor as he was the only online professor who wasn't full (for a very good reason). I live out of state so going to class was not an option for me. While all of the classwork is done remotely, the professor is completely absent. All work done through another website.
If you want to pass the class without learning anything, then take this online course. Everything is done through the book's online content. There is absolutely no teaching provided by the instructor. At times there is one homework problem. Great class if you just need a grade, bad if you want to actually learn the subject.
Quiet man, so I could see how some would be slightly intimidated to ask for help. BUT that being said- he's an excellent teacher and a genuinely nice person. He makes every resource available to you online and in class. Unlike other Accounting and Business profs he makes really helpful handouts. I loved having him as my instructor!
mediocre teacher. all homework and tests were online and i found quizlets for everything. Extremely easy to pass, not amazing for actually learning the material. Easy access if you do need to ask questions though. you're allowed two missed classes before he starts deducting points.
The course is set up in a way that allows students to actually learn the material and not just memorize terms for a test. Great professor.
He's an average teacher, nothing special. All my homework/tests/quizzes done on connect which made it pretty easy. attendance was mandatory. He does a good job explaining things just a little boring. Always available for help
If you want to pass the class keep up with homework and quizzes and you will do fine. Keep in mind the mypearson stuff is graded differently than the standard grading system so you have to do all the assignments to pass.
I'd recommend students to take Jeff's online course if they're looking for a relaxing online experience. I've taken many, many online courses in the past and BA 212 with Jeff has been the most smoothing one so far. I like how the online class was extremely smooth. There were no hiccups or anything like that.
Jeff is a great teacher. He is very clear about expectations each week. Coursework is done through MyAccountingLab. He gives you a weekly study routine and if you follow it, you will do well. He responds quickly to emails and is very helpful if you have questions. You can take practice quizzes multiple times.
Online class. Jeff Edwards relies on Pearson publishers ancillaries for teaching the class. Lectures, PowerPoint, practice problems, practice quiz followed by graded problems then graded quiz are all done in MyAccountingLab. Very time consuming, often extremely boring. Small introduction video at the beginning of each week, the rest is upto you.
Mr. Edwards is a good choice for an Accounting teacher. There is a lot of work, but no more than what you would have to do for a in-person class. Imagine this course as exactly what you did in Accounting 211, except no boring lecture, just the online videos and the same MyAccountingLab. He also posts a update video each chapter on what to expect :)
Loved this class because it's entirely self directed. Every week you have a chapter to read, an online homework assignment and a quiz. Wash rinse repeat. Two exams taken online and that's it. There's even practice homework and quizzes that match the real ones verbatim, so you can make sure you've got the concepts down before committing to a grade.
I feel I chose the wrong instructor for what is considered the hardest accounting class. He does not give feedback, doesn't post any helpful lectures other than just a video of what you will do that week. He isn't helpful. Basically I had to try to learn and understand this by myself which I failed. I would NEVER take him again.
Class consists of: weekly quizzes, 5 homework questions due weekly, a midterm and final. While there are only 5 weekly questions, each one can have 30+ steps to it!! Don't leave this to the last day! Midterm & final are toughest because they are more like the homework than quiz questions. Lastly, keep track of Due Dates; Jeff gives no extensions!!
I definitely recommend his class if you're looking for a more relax course. No discussions, which was AMAZING!! He lets you read the textbook, or if you're more visual, he provides videos on pearson. He gives you practice problems that are exactly like the graded problems. Super easy class if you read and do the work, you'll get an A.
While he utilizes Pearson Account Lab, which does cost extra, I do NOT buy the textbook and only use the online book edition by just purchasing the Pearson login. Apparently several are not happy with Pearson on here, but I love it! It has great media, practice, and other aids that make learning easy and self paced.
Taken him twice BA 212 and BA 213. Each week you have one chapter to read, HW, and a quiz. He provides PowerPoints, lecture videos, and study guides. I highly recommend watching the videos before reading the chapter. Everything is due the following Monday. I prefer classes with one due day a week so works well for me.
Mostly self-guided course, but Jeff was always there if needed. And I liked his video introductions each week! I enjoy this format so this class was perfect for me.
Amazing instructor. It's pretty much at your own pace. You don't need the book. Just read his lecture notes, do the quiz and homework. For me, the homework was the most time consuming. The lecture notes took time but weren't hard to comprehend, but with the homework you have multiple attempts and can see the examples and that helps a lot.
Instructor is very nice, with a professional attitude to students. The class is very problem heavy, and too complex for a 200 level course. After reviewing video content, there's reading, practice tests and problems, then actual tests and problems: it's overwhelming. The Redshelf content fails to provide steps on how to solve failed problems.
