Mr. Gray is a very considerate and interesting instructor who makes english FUN! I have never like the subject, but I grow to like it after his class, now im planning to take 102. There is only 4 essays , 1 mid and final. He gives extentions to the papers. WONDERFUL INStructor!!

English was never my best subject,and Mr Gray didn't help.I think he's a cool, relaxed,funny but not a good teacher.He gives boring lectures through powerpoint were he repeats what he wrote word by word.And he doesn't give any feedback on essays but just tells you what you did good on it.This class is oriented to those who want to major in english.

This class for me was difficult. He does explain, and teach very well, but he is a hard grader. Also, he doesn't say how to improve the essay. He only shows the good points of the essay. I had to do extra credit in order to pass this class...

I absolutely hated English, but the guy helped make it bearable. He has a gradual but steady learning curve. Beginning with simple 1 page essays and peaking at 5-6 pagers. Even if some work was good enough for the beginning of the semester, Gray's standards will become more stringent as time goes on.

Mr. Gray is an excellent teacher. He gives very clear directions and his feedback on essays help when you're writing your next essay. He's also very relaxed and relates to students.

hes hot gorgeous!..now that thats out of the way. his teaching makes you feel like you can actually be a good writer he motivates you and gives you some confidence in your writing. The readings are hard but he walks you through them and makes them easier to understand. oh did i mention hes cute!..lol

he gives 4 essays throughout the semester. he does grade tough but he does it to help the student out for English 101. He's kinda cute and has a good sense of humor. at times though, you will get bored.

Honestly, i really like Jeff Gray, he really wants his students to do well in writing and goes over everything in detail. the homework and test are so easy. As long as you show up to every class, most likly you'll get an A.

Very understandable Homework and easy if you really get into the story he wants you to read and of couse very juicy information on how to do essays as long as you pay attention. had to drop due to family emergency. But loved his class. Plus he is so cute so couldn't really focus lol. really recomend to take his class.

He challenges you to be a better writer. His essays seem hard, but he is very helpful with notes and gives guidelines. very good with explaining all topics on essays, had a workshop for everyone and will help you when asked. he is not rude at all he is kind. keeps you interested in the topic. even if you don't like English you will enjoy his class, but be prepared for a lot of homework. the assignments are simple though.

Great teacher. Essays are what matter, the midterm and final are like 5% of your grade, do well on ur essays and you'll pass. Prof Gray is the best prof! A lot of students may not like him because he wants his essays in a specific manner. He gives guidelines explains how he wants the essay 1 week before it's due. First two essays are easy the last two a bit tricky but following the guidelines will help you. He's preparing you for the next level of English don't whine!

I took professor gray for English 28. English was never a strong subject for me but he really prepared me for English 101. He makes English enjoyable! Professor Gray is a GREAT teacher! He is very straight forward on what is expected. Lectures are great, uses current day situations, video clips and doesn't move on until everyone is clear on subject. He is always available, gives great feedback and encourages you to do your best. Workload is manageable, goes over HW,final & midterm.

He gives good feedback for you to know what to work on and what you're doing ok. He makes the lectures be relatable and likes to make sarcastic jokes once in a while to lighten up the classs.

Unlike my uptight AP high school teachers, Prof Gray made literature enjoyable. He doesn't focus so much grammatically/stylistically as he does analytically. His lectures are more like conversations, inviting you to take on a different lens when reading the stories. Yes there are essays but they are manageable. Talk to him! He's funny and caring.

Prof Gray is a great instructor. If you want to have a challenge in writing i suggest you take him. Also, make sure you do all the readings because he does quiz you on the readings. His class is pretty straight forward, there are no surprises. If you are good at writing take him, if your writing needs some polishing take him too. no regrets.

Overall, this teacher is easy going and very understandable. He is open to questions and helps explain the best he can. His prompts are not difficult and you get another chance to fix the answer to the prompt due to the correction of rough drafts during class. Reading is necessary but not so much. He respects students and keeps the class amused.

I took English 28 & English 101 with Professor Gray, and he was amazing! Before enrolling into his English 28 class, I hated writing because I had little knowledge about essays and thesis statements. But now, because of Prof. Gray, I enjoy writing and I couldn't be happier with my work.

Prof Gray is clearly passionate about the subject he teaches. You will definitely need experience with writing and the English language to pass the course. There will be a lot of reading done, but the course is definitely worth it. Grading guidelines are very clear and deadlines are very reasonable. He is accessible and always ready to help.

Discussion questions forced insight and critical thinking to the point where I never thought about word count. Meaningful and attentive participation in class is what saves your grade. Loved! Loved! the class. Professor is super nice and helps you a lot. I swear if you participate, do the readings and the discussions, there's no reason not to pass this class with flying colors. On top of that the lectures are just not a drag so that's always a plus. The discussions online and in class are always fun and interesting.

Class is discussion and participation heavy (but they were great). There is readings and hwk that will be relevant to the overall class so try not to miss it. Nothing horrible to say, but do the work and he is easy to talk to so don't be scared to ask for his guidance on your essays if need be.

Excellent professor! I am currently in my 3rd week and I love my online class. One textbook for the semester and I rented from Amazon. Very considerate grader and has amazing patience. I can tell he has a passion to teach well and wants us to succeed. He provides great feedback and replies fast! I highly recommend English 101 online.

Professor Gray provided great feedback when asked questions about how to write my essay. As well, with our SI, Amber, I slowly learned how to write better as I never attended High School. I felt his grading was relaxed, especially if he sees potential. Do keep in mind, however, is the class can get a bit "political" and talk about current events.

Amazing professor! Made me not want to miss a single class. His lectures were very interesting and he uses Canvas for assignments and tests. If you have a hard time learning online, don't worry because he literally provides clear requirements and stays on top of his messages. I'm excited to learn from him again for Eng103 Online.

I took his online course for Fall 2019. His prompts are clear and when followed you will get max amount of points. He really shoes you how to build an essay, but theres 3 big essays throughout the semester and 1 essay midterm and 1 essay final. He gives constant assignments that are due every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday usually but are reasonable.

I withdrew from several English teachers classes prior to taking Mr Grays class. Im glad I took his online course. He is very helpful. The work is easy because he guides you every step of the way. By far the best online instructor that Ive encountered. I would highly recommend.

What an amazing class. He is so explicit with every homework. He gives examples and gives really good feedbacks. Literally, his feedback is so specific and detailed that it helps you prepare how to do the next assignment. Also, his assignments include things like readings and writings but it is not too hard because the topics are interesting.

Took him for a summer, didn't need a specific textbook, he provided free links for all the readings. Mostly discussions and a lot of reading with essays of course, but he's really caring and funny. I'd 100% take him again, and he's an easy grader. No zoom meetings. 3 big essays total with other homework in-between. Amazing professor!

I took this class during Spring of 2020 and I loved it. I've never enjoyed English class but Professor Gray made it very fun and interesting. I wish he taught English 102. He's also very understanding and organized. He also tells you how you can better yourself as a writer.

His discussions and homework were easy for me. Follow along with the prompts for the essays and PLEASE go to tutoring so they can help you with the essays. He gives good feedback for your rough drafts so make sure to listen to him since the essays are what count the most for your grades. I will be taking him for English 102 for winter.

Took this English class Spring 2020 and profession Grey was very cool and understanding. When the pandemic started he reached out to every student and made late assignments available for the whole semester. Professor responses are very quick. He also gives great feedback. The class is very organized he gives a list of the weekly assignments.

I took Professor Gray online during the 2022 Summer Course and let me say, I highly recommend! I got an A despite having a full time job and going on vacation for a week in the middle of the class. Therefore, there really is no excuse to say that one didn't have enough time. Our big assignments were three essays.

Professor Gray is very organized with is assignments. Only three essays, lots of discussion posts, but doable. There;s tutoring available and you can ask for help if you need it. You'll have to get/buy a textbook for the class. Professor Gray is a nice professor.

I just took his asynchronous class, so I don't know how he teaches during online or in-person meetings. The assignments and discussions are easily understandable and feasible. It helps understand the unit and the essays. He lets us turn in assignments late (which is excellent), but I recommend to submit on time. Also, he gives good feedback.

Professor Grey is an amazing teacher. I took Shakespeare 215 online. His lectures were fun and doable. He gives so much feed back on assignments and test. Professor Gray was an amazing teacher. Accepts late work if you let him know in advance. Hw due Thursdays and Sundays around 2-3 assignments for both due dates. 3 essays all semester. He takes you step by step in all of them. Also has tutor available for his students! Kinda have to read a lot but topics are interesting! Would definitely take again!

The professor is very flexible with due dates and assignment extensions. Gives 3 big essays throughout the semester that will greatly affect grade. Material has to do with cultural stereotypes and ideas found in the media or television. Textbooks and access to "inquisitive" software is absolutely mandatory and needed for assignments.

Amazing professor! There will be 3 essays which will make up most of your grade, along with some assignments from a textbook to introduce the ideas you will be writing about. He makes himself available in and out of class for any help you may need and is extremely lenient with due dates (mostly uses them as markers for keeping you on track).

Assignments are questions from required textbook and he reviews in class. 3 essays and the final was a review of those 3. Don't slack off even though he is understanding on late assignments. He wants to teach you! Encourages to use school resources. He asks questions to make sure you're understanding the topics.

I had really cool assignments like "The Hero's Journey" where you watched movies and compared them in an essay. Professor is really flexible with assignments and provides great feedback on improvements for the future. You can tell he cares and facilitates your learning process as long as you do the work he'll guide you in the direction of passing.

If you are ever taking English 101 I highly recommend this professor. During the entire semester, we had to write 3 essays which were quite easy, and 1 essay for finals. He is very lenient with attendance and grading work turned in late.

Take ENG101 with him if you're a freshman! The books used aren't free but they readings are so interesting. There's around 5 assignments per week but they are doable and fun. This class was an 8 week course, so throughout the week there was 5 assignments due in a day or two but they weren't difficult. In total, there were 6 discussions, 1 quiz, reading assignments, 3 essays, assignments based on building each essay, and a final exam which is a small essay (won't make or break your grade). He also accepts late work.

This was an online course in summer term B, only 5 weeks. I may have been a little over confident about taking a 16 week course in 5, because I would've liked more time to receive feedback to revise drafts. Assignments due every week on tuesdays, thursdays and sundays. 3 main essays with reading, analysis, and writing assignments each week.
