best teacher I've ever had! Because he wrote his own textbook, you can just follow along and highlight as he lectures. You always walk out of the class understanding the material, if you didn't all you have to do is refer to the textbook. But class attendance needed for required points.

Good teacher, but sometimes it feels liike he is busier having a conversation with himself than actually involving his students in the lecture. Of course, maybe that's because no one in my class ever speaks up...His jokes are funny, but they get old if you had him for both macro and micro.

Awesome class. You don't have to write notes cuz you can hightlight in the book word for word what he writes on the board. His quizzes always follow what you have just covered and his test almost always are word for word the quizzes and homework. If you have to take the class, definetly take his

This was my favorite course at TCC. His lectures were always interesting and he was very clear about what would be on the tests. His book was very easy to read. I didn't take his macro course and the other book had way too much information to remember everything. I learned a lot more from his book!

Jeff is a goofy, nice man who really knows his material. Class lecture, notes, and book all mach because HE wrote the textbook, making studying super easy. Attendance is very important b/c of quizzes. Follows syllabus well. There is work, but it is simple. No projects or group work luckily.Gilligan!

mr holt is a great teacher, his book is cheap, and the tests are from the book! just try to memorize most of the terms because they can be a little tricky on the test. I definitely recommend this class to everyone!!

Jeff Holt, Gilligan's Island, Macroeconomics Rap, and Jeopardy! all rocked my socks off this semester. With his enthusiams for economics, Professor Holt helped cement my desire to become an economics major. He's a smart man and a great teacher. He's one of my favorite professors at TCC so far!

His class was challenging, yet interesting, and he has the rare ability to present material like this in a straightforward manner (Gilligan's Island, the Simpsons, etc. are used to illustrate points). The subject matter is fairly challenging, but Professor Holt teaches it brilliantly. He uses stories that paint pictures such as defining macroeconomic issues with a non-existant container of Grape Kool-Ade or setting up an economy on Gilligan's Island. He is very funny and writes everything that is important on the board (a huge + for me). Great!!

I took both Macro and Micro and would highly recommend this professor! He sounds like an announcer and jokes quite a bit. He makes economics very interesting, for economics I suppose. Attend class often, take good notes and just listen really. He explains everything in detail. There are a lot of quizzes, mostly take home.

I have taken both the Macro & Micro courses with this professor. His tests and quizzes come straight from the material in the book. He is a wonderful professor. If you show up for class, turn in your quizzes, and do the questions at the end of every chapter you should do well.

Loud and entertaining. Take home quizzes at the end of almost every class but doesn't even take five minutes to do if you took notes. He wrote the book and it's simple language (his lectures come straight from the book so just bring a highlighter!) Study for tests

Mr. Holt is a great teacher, he occasionally brings food and gives a take home quiz evry class period that only take ten minutes at the most. If you take notes and study the study guides at the end of the chapters you will do fine.

In my opinion, probably one of the best teachers at TCC. Knows his stuff, knows how to teach, keeps your attention. You really leave the class with a great understanding of economics. Take any class you can with him!

Honestly, I am not sure why he is teaching at TCC. He is far better than any teacher I had at OU, or for that matter, anywhere. Lectures are interesting and he ties them into real world matters to clarify. Funny, or at least he tries to be. Show up to class so you can take the quizzes, as you can't make them up (the one bad thing).

Mr Holt is one of the best professors I have taken at TCC. He takes a subject matter that could be rather heavy and explains it very interestingly. If you study the weekly quizes and homework questions you can easily pass the tests

Mr. Holt knows how to keep the class interesting. His class seamed to fly by. Test were right out of the book, so is the take home work. I would reccomend his class to anyone.

I had him for Macroeconomics. His lectures are not boring. He knows the stuff. You use the textbook he wrote, easy to follow. Take home quizes and homework. Test are fairly easy if you studied. It takes more effort to do bad in this class than to pass it. He adds in some humor to his lectures, very enthusiastic about teaching.

This guy is amazing. Not much more to be said that hasn't already been said! You do HAVE to study to get an A. No doubt about it, but the book is awesome, the take home quizzes are awesome. The only assignments that you have to study for is tests. Easy B-A if you study at all. Brownies are great, he is hilarious too.

I took the 11 day Micro class with Holt. Very simple class because he makes a tough subject easy to understand. No surprises. Super easy quizzes and homework assignments. You can make a "B" very easily. If you put in a little more work you can make an "A". He's friendly and makes good brownies too! I wish OU had more teachers like him.

He lectures straight from the book...he wrote it! he passes out 5question quizzes often but they are easy 10pts. I took Macroeconomics and Microeconomics with Mr. Holt. You will not find an Instructor at T.C.C. that explains the material better than he does. I only used one book for both classes which saved me money. If you need Economics than take Mr. Jeff Holt. Take home quizzes. Homework assignments and there were a total of four test. He made economics easier to understand. He wrote the book that way. He doesn't use blackboard and his office hours are not helpful to people who work. I didn't think he was very approachable either. But, he gave very easy work, if you just read & do the homework, quizzes & study.

Holt uses many illustrations to make sure students understand. He brings homemade treats for full attendance. He wrote his own book, so he is always knowledgable and helpful to students, particularly those who struggle with math. The subject is very clear. Daily take-home quizzes, weekly worksheets, and tests that come straight from review sheets.

Mr. Holt is an excellent professor. His lectures are very smooth, informative, and even funny. He takes concepts that are rather obscure and explains them very well to his students. Most interesting class I have taken yet. Professor is a master in his field and TCC is lucky to have him on their staff. In this class, your grade is truly representative of your effort. Homework and daily quizzes are worth as many points as the tests. Professor has a methodical, well though out teaching method that makes economics interesting.

THE BEST TEACHER AT TCC HANDS DOWN! Organized, very smart, helpful, and hilarious! His lectures are very colorful, I have never laughed so hard in class! Good instructor. Took this course twice before at another school, and was finally able to pass with a C. So, you can at least pass with a "C" or better, depending on your work ethic. You will need the book, which he wrote.

Show up. Do the SUPER SIMPLE take home quizzes. Complete the homework assignments (only 4 of them). Use his study guides found in the book HE WROTE to prepare for the 4 exams. You'll get a GREAT grade. I'd strongly recommend taking this course. He was a very enthusiastic teacher that made the class enjoyable.

Jeff Holt is a great professor who is dedicated to helping students understand the material. His tests are not too difficult, but do actually test your knowledge. His use of stories to explain concepts keeps class interesting. Being fairly laid back and friendly makes him easy to approach. If you're taking an economics class, take his class.

If you need to take micro or macro econ (or even if your degree doesn't require it) TAKE PROFESSOR HOLT! I cannot tell you how great he is. Attend class, pay attention, take notes, use the study guide, do the quizes and the self tests at the end of each chapter and you cannot fail. A+ P. Holt!

Professor Holt was a great teacher. He kept the subject interesting by using real life examples. Professor Holt is a GREAT teacher, he really knows his stuff. He makes his lectures interesting and funny. Do the take-home quizzes, take really good notes and do the review questions at the end of each study guide and you’ll do great. I highly recommend him.

Listen, and listen good, all you have to do to ace this class is: Do well on the quizzes and homework packets, REREAD THE CHAPTERS AT LEAST TWICE THEN DO THE STUDY GUIDES AT THE END, reread the summary of the chapters before the test, and you'll Ace it if not get a B. Awesome professor, you'll be dumb to not take him!!

Best class I've taken at TCC. Jeff Holt is a friendly and funny guy and he makes economics interesting. Took him for Micro/Macro and got A's in both classes.

I don't often think of professors after finishing their class but I really miss Jeff Holt! I had him for Micro and Macro econ. It was challenging at times but I would recommend him to anyone. He literally wrote the book you use. Watch Gillian's Island before taking this course. You'll see what I mean. Sure wish he could teach accounting.... :

Great lectures. Hilarious, dry humor. Actually covers what is in the textbook so you can study by reading the textbook. Go to class, take notes, and do all the homework and you will get an A.

Jeff Holt is the best and most informative teacher I've ever had. He relates all aspects of Economics to real life so that they're easier to understandrelate to. I took his class for both Macro & Microeconomics and am so glad I did. You'll need the book, which is about $75 for both classes. All the notes that you'd have to take come from the book.

Loves giving analogies to compare modern economics with Gilligan's Island and has a take home quiz every week. If he gets perfect attendance one week, the next he brings brownies... Aside from the (easy as all get out) quizzes, what isn't to like?

Basically if you do your part, you will do well in this class! Professor Holt is an amazing lecturer and gives out study guides and practice tests before exams. It is not an easy class but you will be just fine if you show up to class and apply yourself

Awesome professor! Funny writes everything on the board for notes! Gives homework out at the beginning of each section and you have until the class before the next test to do it. Very clear about the information! Take notes, you'll do just fine. Quiz almost every class, but they take about 30 seconds to do and are 10 pts a piece.

Professor Holt is probably the best professor that I have every had in college! He is very clear and fair about the work that he requires. 1-2 simple, take home quizzes every week. 4 homework assignments and 4 tests. Tells funny stories in class. Oh yeah, he brings brownies for perfect attendance! :) Taking his Micro course in the Spring!

Best professor I've yet to have at TCC. Taking him in the spring semester for Micro. I took economics in high school and thought I just didn't understand it, but taking Holt made me realize it's not that difficult a subject. Show up to class because the lectures are thorough. His brownies aren't half bad, either.

This guy is a hoot! He was a blessing to have as my instructor, and will be taking him again for Microeconomics. Quiz almost every class, but takes 5 to 10 minutes each. TOO EASY! Tests are not bad, but they thoroughly test your knowledge. READ THE BOOK! Not hard to read, as he wrote it. (If everyone shows up one week, he brings brownies the next.)

Jeff Holt is a hilarious guy and he makes class interesting. He is passionate about what he teaches and his approach is very understanding. Tests are a little tough but take notes, study the study guides at the end of each chapter the last two test he handed out a study guide and i passed the class with an easy A. Take his class!!

I really enjoy this class, this professor is hilarious and very informative. The structure is excellent and easy to follow. Exams aren't the easiest, but he does give you prep materials and if you study and pay attention, you should be able to score well.

Jeff does a great job at teaching economics. He is very clear and you know what to expect every class. The homework is very easy if you just read through the chapter. Test are challenging, but if you do good on the quizzes (homework) than you'll do fine in the class! Definitely recommend.

Expectations are clear from the first day of class. There's a daily quiz that you must be in class to receive (or email him about your absence), there is homework for each exam, and he puts appropriate material on the exams. Largest plusses in this class were his humor and the lectures followed the textbook (which he wrote).

Professor Holt is great at what he teaches. He is also the writer of the book, so everything he teaches is word for word in the book. There are 4 tests and 4 homework packets. There are also quizzes (only 5 questions) that are given each class period that are due the following class. If you're a bad test taker, these quizzes will save your grade.

Took Jeff for both micro and macro and he is great! He has really corny jokes and brings brownies to class if there's perfect attendance! Overall, if you study and ask questions you should do fine!

Jeff holt is a great professor, there's no reason to get anything below an A. I don't know why people think he's hard when it's one of the easiest classes I've ever taken and I'm not familiar with economics at all. I'm taking both his macroeconomics and microeconomics and they are both great He gives you plenty of material he gives out for studying

Mr. Holt is an amazing professor! He has a great amount of knowledge and passion on the subject of economics. He makes learning fun and memorable. Jeff Holt is probably the best Economics professor throughout all TCC campuses. He teaches with passion and for someone his age he actually knows how to connect with students much younger than him. 190 points of take home quizzes, 155 pts of homework due before exams. If you don't go to class you will fail. Tests are not bad. Highly recommended.

Jeff Holt has been the most capable and engaging professor I have ever taken. I did two of his fast track classes back-to-back and it went by all to quickly. He teaches in a way everyone can understand and gives you many forms of help to help you prepare for each test. I HIGHLY recommend him. (Also makes lectures entertaining and engaging.)

Jeff Holt wrote his own textbook which is amazing! It makes it so easy to follow his lectures. He's enthusiastic about the topics covered. You HAVE TO STUDY for tests! He gives study guides though so it's pretty clear. Will be taking his microeconomics class next year. Do the homework and quizzes and you'll help your grade significantly.

One of the best professors I've had. He wrote the $60 book, use it for macro and micro, it is clear and directly follows the lecture and has study guides for each chapter that are very similar to tests. You can tell that Jeff Holt absolutely loves teaching. His lectures are simple, yet informative. He lectures, and you will have a take-home quiz almost every class. He's really into Economics, but he doesn't get carried away in lectures. He knows exactly what he's talking about & could probably teach in his sleep. Prof. Holt is super clear about everything, and he's glad to help if you have a question. Also, he's got incredibly corny jokes and an easy-to-listen-to voice. I took both Macro and Microeconomics with Professor Holt and enjoyed both classes. His lectures, like any, can drag on but are more interesting and lively than most others. If you attend class and pay attention, you can get an A fairly easily. You will know exactly what material will be covered on the tests before taking them.

Great teacher, he kept his lectures very interesting. He wrote the book so his lectures go page by page through the book, no jumping around. Wants his students to succeed and if you happen to miss class he was very quick to email you the quiz you missed. Class was straight forward. Best prof I have had at TCC.

Prof. Holt is a great teacher. He is extremely organized and has his lectures down to a science. He gives a quiz typically every class period that is worth 10 points and is extremely doable, these quizzes if done can save you a letter grade. The tests can be a little more difficult, but all the material is given to you and if you study they are NP.

Textbook is inexpensive because he is the one that wrote it. Textbook is easy to follow with great examples. He does lecture a lot but they are very interesting and well thought out. Quizzes are due every class (for classes that meet once a week) but are easy. Tests do require studying, but the information is all on the quizzes and homework.

I took Professor Holt for both macroeconomics (2013) and microeconomics (2023). His lectures are structured, very clear and directly taken from the book (so easy to follow along and highlight while you listen). He is energetic and gives many examples of the information given which makes it easier to understand/comprehend. I loved his classes!

This is the only class I have ever taken where I will actually miss going. He is so good at teaching this subject! He makes me excited to learn every time. I took Micro and Macro with him and I learned so much. Tons of easy point opportunities from simple take home quizzes so if you aren't a good exam taker this helps a lot!

Holt is amazing. His tests are a little hard but his study guide clearly goes over the study guide. The textbook he actually wrote. Also please, please do your fellow man a favor and never miss a class. Holt makes really good brownies when there is perfect attendance. Someone kept missing so we didn't get brownies that often.

One of the best professors I've had a TCC. Definitely read the chapters before going to class to make it easier on you. Homework and take home quiz points matter and can really help you out. Do the practice exams in the textbook and the ones he gives you and you'll be fine.

This man is a pure genius when it comes to breaking down economics in an understandable manner. Attendance wasn't required for the course but I came to class every single time just because he made it fascinating. If you get the textbook, the homework is completely effortless and the tests are only as hard as you make them.

Best professor at TCC! Everyday I woke up early and excited for class. His lectures are so fun and he gives great relatable examples which make it easy to understand macro. He is really passionate about economics and he wrote his own book so its perfectly in-sync with the class. This is the type of teacher you wish all your teachers were like.

Professor Holt, is one of the best professors i have taken. He not only knows the material but his great at transmitting it. He is clear at what he expects from you, he provides his class notes which make so much easier to follow lecture in class. Professor Holt is the Economics teacher of the century! Learned so much in his class and lectures. Clearly explains all of his expectations and grading criteria, so be ready to read that whole book if you are taking both micro and macro.

I took Professor Holt's 8-week micro class online and it was a great class. All the work for the class was not excessive and was manageable. The textbook is required but easy to understand and used on all the tests/quizzes/hw. He also has open book tests. If you can take Professor Holt DO IT. He was amazing and the class was great, would take again

Took the online 8 week class, and although there was a lot of content in a short time, it wasn't too bad. You'll do fine if you don't fall behind, but you can only work ahead a unit at a time. Quizzes and homework rely heavily on the textbook, but the professor wrote it so he can answer any questions. He may also round your grade by a point or two.

I took Professor Holt's 8-week class and thoroughly enjoyed it. He has a big ego about himself, but he correlates it into his lectures to make it more entertaining. He also had some issues with his wording choices on quizzes and test but other than that, he doesn't grade harshly and if you pay attention, you'll do great!

Professor Holt sets up his online class to where you cannot fail. You must put in the effort into the study guides, reading material, listening to the lectures he posts for each unit. The quizzes are set up to work on them as you read and can go back to them. Exams are easy if you study the text and study materials He was very responsive to emails.
