A nice professor, but class is boring...I took him in Summer 2004, and he did not give any project at that time. Exams are somehow tough. Not sure he still gives you open-book/notes quizzes now. Curves your final grade at the end.

He is very good.

Excellent in what he teaches. Probably the most useful course ever. Hardwork, but you get the most fruit out of his class. The most bang for your buck!

Fair grader through and through! His grading system is very intricate, but impartial and objective. I took both his Business math and Marketing. Although I liked him better with quantitative subjects, his marketing was very informative too. I hope to take finance also with him befor I graduate.

You are missing a lot if you don't take him.

Very easy professor... No HW, no tests... only 1 project and the final. Easy A!!

I got an A-. and it was better than I expected. I have no complaints whatsoever. I enjoyed his class and learned a lot, pure and simple.

i'm very satisfied with the grade. i was struggling between my work and class, so i missed some classes, but i stuck with his lecture notes and did all my share of project. i think the grading system (complicated but accurate) kicked in balacned out everything.

Isn't it funny the satisfied customers seldom bother to visit this site to leave their ratings? Consequently, it is only the losers that take time and trouble to find this site to lash out their frustration by trashing a good professor. I took all his fin, math, mktg and I am more than happy w him.

sorry dude down below. if i'm to be idiot for finding wrong class, i'll be happy to. i took him for bus210 fall 06, and i liked every minute. sure it's challenging, tough, and not so fun, but it's a college work, not a comedy club. he taught the real valuable stuff i can learn nowhere else. hes cool

I really enjoyed working on the project. I also got an A. He posts all the grade breakdowns on Yahoo group, so there is no grey area. Everything is clear, so there's no room for personal, subjective judgment. Almost 30% of the class got A-. Even so, what have I got to complain?

He is kind. I think he is a good person. I can't say his class is very helpful to learn,(because I didn't pay attention to him, and I didn't know the subject) but! at least! he takes care of his students.

Best of the best. He teaches lots of useful stuff I cud've learned nowhere else. Hard at first if this is ur 1st finance ever, but he teaches very tech stuff u can only learn at way advanced levels, so it's expected to be hard, but he tries to pack as much juicy stuff as possible for u in a single course. If u want max value 4 ur $, u must take him

Extremely nice professor. Very fair on grading the 2 Group projects/presentations required. Only 1 exam, which is the final & it was take home. Most of the class was there just to hang out though and did ont pay much attn. When lecturing it seemed no one was listening. He was laid back & very easygoing to the extent that some took advantage.

I don't see how someone can already know grade. We just finished final. Where can u find it? I liked his class every bit though hard. He teaches highly qauntitative & technical stuff. As w/ anything else, if u r smart & up to it, u'll like his class. If u r not, of course u'll say boring. Let's be objective. It's u, not him. U only speak 4 urself.

group of people are splited to work on presentation. we r there to listen teacher's lecture not student's presentations. some groups slack-off. some people in my groups are lazy-bones-slacker. if u r in wrong group, work yr a*s off coz u will not get any help. then proffsor will fill up with his explanation on the subject after ur group fails u.

i like him. he's the best. he gives so much insight into the complex mechanics of the system in easy understandable terms. i don't see how i can't do well in a class like his. even if i don't get an A, i'll have no regret. he's just grrrrrreat!

He is a nice teacher but he needs a little warming up first.Professor Hong is fairly easy just do the two power point presentation and you will be fine. The only problem is it's a group thing and if someone is slacking just do ur project and tell him. Not really helpful on the final but if you like computers take this class he can be boring

You can't be stupid and take this guy's class, plain and simple. That's a good thing though. He is ridiculousy intelligent. You have to be interested in the subject to appreciate him. I definetly would recommend him.

it's not surprising different people perceive him differently. the bottom line is that if u're a good smart kid, u'll love him. otherwise, u'll hate him although only less than the bottom 5% of the class would hate him, which is not surprising. one girl was particularly obnoxious, rude, offensive, disrespectful & disruptive. i wished she got punish

his class is not that interesting but fair to take. Some students complain abt everything in his class but they are stupid as Junior high or even worse. If you are aware of that you are in college, you'll find he is too generous and his course is too easy.

Isn't this board for finance or marketing? How come some people post about marketing here? Lacking even the minimal intelligence to distinguish between the two? Who will take those opinions seriously coming frome the idiots that can't even find the correct place to post? If you have complaints about his marketing class, take it to the marketing.

I find his class quite challenging and useful. The contents require high level of intelligence, so if you are not smart, naturally you can't expect any fun in his class. If you're a dumb and stupid idiot, you will be the fox just calling the grape sour instead of blaming your own short-comings especially in the grey matter in your coconut shell.

READ READ READ THE BOOK, nothing else will help. He will answer any questions, but can still be a little confusing. He is very nice, and will try to help.

Most rewarding and highest quality course ever. One thing though - You've gotta be really brainy to fully appreciate his class. Any otherwise, you're nothing but an incompetent fox only blaming the grape to be too sour... like many of the comments here.

Not an easy professor only the most intelligent minds will appreciate, but his lecture contents are probably the best value for your money. If you're a braniac and want to get the best of what college education can offer, you must take him!

He's not a marketing person, but more of an economics andfinance person. That was so evident bcoz I took his finance too in the same semester. He might not be too interested in marketing himself, but the grade is okay as long as you do all the work according to the guideline.

He tries to cram graduate level contents into an undergrad class. That tends to make his class hard, but on the balance he's a great professor overall. It's only that the students must be intellectually up to it. Grading is on the curve, so the majority of the class would fall within reasonably good grade range. Real McCoy serious stuff!

prof.hone is a very nice prof, but he's not explain very clear about the lecture in class. he dont have homework he only have one take home quiz, one take home midterm, and one final. but no review sheet, u need to read the book.

Prof. Hong is a caring, patient professor. He maybe a bit boring, but he tried his best to lecture the class. and his tests are TAKE-HOME tests, which is AWESOME. I will definitely take his class again. Thanks for give me the A, professor Hong.

Great teacher! You learn a lot and he is very understanding; always available for office hours or to answer an e-mail question. Very easy to pass unless you simply don't try. I took him last semester and specifically took him again this semester. Definitely reccomend.

Everything is online for this class, the quizzes the midterm and the final. The professor is very unclear for his lecture notes. doesnt like answering questions or going over anything. expects you to learn everything all at once. if you want an easy A show up to class on time pass all your quizzes and tests.

Professor may seem a bit rough, but he's really good at teaching yes his class may be hard, all tests are online he's not a stickler for those assignments of course they help your grade.

Hes best during Winter/Summer sessions. Very organized. Excel heavy. If you dont know Excel, you WILL have problems, but he is patient & will repeat up to a point. Is exacting in how he wants assignments formatted. Dont fight him on it or %, not points, will be taken off. He can get esoteric on some concepts because he knows what hes doing.

Have only good things to say about this professor. Those who complain must be the ones that simply didn't work hard. He's simply awesome if you take his lectures seriously and work hard for your grade. After all everything he teaches is very useful as well as profound. Eventually it's for our own good.

I was one of his student at BMCC last Spring and Fall 2019. Now, I am enrolled at Baruch College, and I just finished my first semester this Spring 2020. I would like to thank him for his support during my time at BMCC. His courses helped me to understand stocks market and to do good during my first semester at Baruch College.

Professor's online lectures are vey boring and repetitive, and his instructing is not the sharpest. However, it gets the job done, especially being online. His tests are verrrry easy and there were barely any other assignments. We only had like 2 quizzes, otherwise it was just 3 tests and 2 exams. I'd take this class again if it was online.

This class is not easy. But combing the professor's lecture with your self-learning, you will learn a lot about Finance. Raising your hands and participating will give you extra points to improve your grades. Wish you the best of luck!

Anyone who fails his class either doesn't participate(extra credit) or clocks into his class every few weeks. If you pay attention, getting an A is easy. If not, you'll probably end up writing one of the many undeserved negative reviews he gets. It's a tough class but a fair one.

Professor Hong brings credible real-world experience to Financial Managment and explains concepts clearly. Lectures could be more engaging with more hands-on practice. Clear grading criteria, based on attendance, assignments and exams. Take advantage of the extra credit. Put in the effort, and your grade will reflect it!

Pr. Hong is very knowledgeable at what he does. He is highly intelligent individual. It's just the style of him teaching that I did not really find beneficial for me. Corporate Finance is very interesting and useful class,I wish we could just have live classes instead of watching old recordings.Overall make sure you get extra credits participating.
