As long as you study for this class you will be fine. It is all memorization but if you ask him questions he will give you an easy way to remember things. Tests were difficult but fair. This class is a "teach yourself" format but be sure to ask questions. He is the best in the open labs before the tests!
I had him as my anatomy lab techer, he is great, he is always willing to ansewer questions. All you do is sit there and study from the book, or study as a group but i learned alot that way. He explains some things but is up to you to learn it, anatomy is a hard class and you have to study alot.
Flat out, Jeff is interested in your success. Anytime I needed assistance he was willing no matter the circumstance. He taught in a way that helped me to learn. I recommend him!
This class is hard but he is a great professor. He is always encouraging and actually gave examples of how his test would be. No tricks or surprises. If you need help he will stay with you until you understand. Easy on the eyes too!
Jeff is a great anatomy lab instructor. This class is very demanding but the labs are so helpful and he offers a few open labs before tests. Jeff is willing to answer questions and wants you to learn so he challenges you to find the answer first. Great teacher...highly recommend him.
Professor Huffman is a stellar teacher! I learned a lot from him, and always felt that class time was well spent. He is very approachable; he is very intelligent and knows the material; his tests were more than fair. He expects you to know the required material. His practice labs were most beneficial. I highly recommend taking from him.
This class is a very difficult class. When questions were asked, Jeff's response would be very general. Sometimes almost rude, as if he was wondering why the question was even being asked. Everyone learns in different ways, he needs to be have more patience in that way and answer the question more specifically and patiently.
Jeff is helpful and will make sure that you understand what you are needing to know for the class and for the tests. Also, not bad on the eyes ;)
Jeff is a decent teacher. He's pretty arrogant and tends to make you feel kind of dumb for asking questions. He claims he'll come around help you individually, but rarely does unless you ask. He spent the entire open lab disecting the cadaver's arm instead of helping students. His class isn't awful if you can get past his arrogance and sarcasm.
He is a bit sarcastic but I would rather have that than a complete boring professor like some of the others. He helped me in class individually for 30 min one time I didn't understand something so I guess the other students just didn't ask for help, their fault not his! He is a great teacher and I recommend you take his class.
Anatomy is a difficult subject but professor Huffman gave great ways to remember terms. He is more than willing to help you but you have to ask him, he isn't a mind reader. He is very smart and a great teacher. You must study all the time for this class, not his fault though its just the class. No complaints from me!
The class is all memorization but Jeff made it easier to remember all of the terms. He was extremely helpful and I plan on taking physiology from him next semester. Can't say enough great things about him, take his class and you will see for yourself.
Way nice guy. Helps you out during labs so you get it right. Doesn't waste time lecturing, just tells you what to expect on the labs and then you break into groups. Helpful and good looking, can't beat that!
Jeff was not a very helpful teacher. He basically read power points the whole time, and let his T.A. answer all of the questions. When he would answer questions, he would basically give you an answer that wasn't helpful and made you feel dumb for asking the question.
My God what a hard class! Terms, terms, terms...memorization galore! I can't tell you what I would have done without Jeff's help. I studied more for this class than any other in my life! If you don't take his class you aren't learning anatomy, you're learning "just good enough". I went to other instructor's labs and he was by far the best!
He goes over most of the terms before you start the lab in a power point. Jeff always knew the material very well. Very helpful if you asked him to clarify some models. Tests were challenging but fair. Attendance was mandatory but the class wasn't boring. I would definitely take another class from this professor.
Jeff is an okay teacher. He always did presentations on the cadavers; however, his course is based off of two scores a mid term and a final. If you don't do well on one, you are out of luck when it comes to grading time. He sometimes came off as being very arrogant and egotistical as well.
Quizzes are so helpful!!! You have to frequently review histology section to do well for the first midterm. Jeff is very approachable; if you have a question he will answer it or guide you to the right source. This is a very demanding course, I strongly recommend professor Huffman.
The labs are pretty boring until you get past the basic biology stuff. His study guide made the tests really easy. Jeff was so helpful and always answered my emails quickly. If you have the chance to take a class from him, you won't regret it.
OHHHH MAN!! He's cool beans for sure AND he sincerly wants you to succeed.
Top-shelf Professor! I had him for Anatomy & Phys. I would take any class that he teaches from him! He has got to be the most electrifying Professor in Utah! Smart, even-keeled, way mellow, and more than fair in every aspect. He answered my rediculous questions with respect. I always learned a lot from him and had so much fun in lab!
He is amazing! Supremely helpful when you need to memorize terms, which is all anatomy is. Take his class and his advice to heart, study all the time.
Jeff is easily the best instructor I've had. He is incredibly knowledgeable, goes above and beyond to help you learn and retain the massive amount information. His very dry wit could be misinterpreted as arrogance if you aren't really listening or not smart enough to catch it. Sorry its true. Looks like a student, teaches like a tenored prof. Hot!
His vast array of caps are magical, and the way he handles words like "sphygmomanometer" with such precision is very captivating! Wish I could have taken some Chemistry from him cuz I sure was feeling some of that!
Jeff was awesome! You have to be ready to study the entire semester! He will answer any question that you have, but really expects you to learn the information yourself. He definitely doesn't hold your hand it is up to you to learn it. He is more than fair and gives you a study guide to focus on. I would take another class from him in a heartbeat!!
This teacher is fabulous. Be prepared to study your guts out but you will learn for your future exams and stuff. I had tons of questions on my hesi exam that we went out many times. Very helpful and will let you attend other labs if you aren't understanding the material. He stays on top of things. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR LAB!
Jeff is amazing!! One of the best Anatomy teachers I have taken from. He is hard but thats only because Anatomy is hard. He is very helpful and willing to clarify any questions you may have. I am a single mom who works two jobs while going to school and still got a B. Loved this class! I recommend him to everyone I know.
Had him for anatomy lab and he was terrible. I don't know if he just had an off semester or what. He only taught on the first day of class and a few times after that focused on the cadavers for about half an hour. Most classes he'd tell us to grab the models and study them. No labels on models, one midterm and one final to cover almost 30 chapters.
Had him for Physio lab. He was arrogant and unhelpful. He made his tests ridiculously hard, and they were poorly worded. He threw 4 out after our first midterm because of the mass confusion they incited. He never responds to emails and never posts grades in a timely manner so you can track your progress. Love physio and labs and I dreaded this one
Jeff was very easy to get a long with and made sure you knew what you had to memorize! He was very good at going over cadavers and tests were not too difficult! just study and stay on top on it!~
Jeff is such a good professor! He really wants you to do well but you definitely have to work for it. He gives you all the tools to succeed but you need to study the book and the models he gives. (He's super cute and nice, too)
He is friendly and makes the class more interesting and enjoyable. He has fun with what he teaches
Great teacher. No matter who you take this class from, you're going to have to study like crazy.
Hard class, absolutely. Awesome professor, absolutely. Jeff is beyond helpful and was more than willing to do anything for you to help you understand. I liked that there were more than just 2 tests, it gave you a chance to become familiar with the test format. Jeff's humor and intelligence made the class a success. Highly recommended.
I went to open labs taught by Jeff and they were more helpful than my own class. My instructor (LJ) was alright but the difference was night and day. I wish I could have transferred into Jeff's lab. His ways of helping you memorize the material was something I wish my lab had taught me.
Jeff is an awesome teacher! He really does care about his students and does everything he can to help you succeed in class. You will have to study, a lot, but as long as you make sure to do your part then Jeff does his part as a teacher and getting the material to you clearly. Definitely would recommend him!
He made this difficult class easier to understand! Highly recommend him!
I was mostly dreading taking anatomy & lab, but Jeff made it enjoyable and I actually looked forward to class. Let's be clear, anatomy is HARD. There is a ton of info to cover, but Jeff does a fantastic job of teaching the material in a clear and organized manner. He's also really witty, and uses lots of amusing memory devices to help. Loved him!
Jeff is a great teacher, he is always willing to answer question and quick to respond to emails. He updates Canvas regularly so you know exactly what your grades are, and he posts a ton helpful links for studying. The class is INCREDIBLY difficult but he does everything he can to help you succeed.
One of the best instructors I've ever had. Take lab from him if you're serious about your future career.
Jeff was a tremendous help. The class is tons of memorization but he gives you the tools to succeed. Hands down my favorite professor so far.
The phys lab manual is in need of updating but he does the best he can with it. The use of physioex helps but seems longer than it actually is. Jeff doesn't waste your time and gives you a heads up before you begin the lab. Email replies were prompt and the two tests weren't surprising.
Jeff was helpful. Comes across as arrogant but ignore it and you'll do fine. Must devote hours to memorizing the material but his class is passable. I like some of his mnemonic tricks.
I'm not good at Physiology but I took it from him and he is awesome! He allows you to work in big groups so that you can do well. Do the practice quizzes on canvas for the midterm and you will ace them! I suck at physiology and got a 98% in class overall.
He is a wonderful lab instructor. I am happy I had him as my teacher. I do not think I would have passed with any other lab instructor. He is funny, clever, passionate, easy to listen to, and best of all great at what he does. This is not an easy class but with his help you can succeed.
Jeff has a passion for anatomy that is clear from the moment that you walk into the class room. He wants you to genuinely learn and use this info in your profession. His canvas page is great and he gives you all the tools you need to do well. You just have to put in the time and work.
Jeff is a great teacher, but the course isn't designed well to learn in a class full of students. It is several people around 1 body or the TA's attempting to teach you- and half the time they just confuse you more or tell you to look it up. Overall, the course isn't too difficult, they dont try to trick you but get ready to teach urself everything
Jeff was super nice and funny but I found that I was confused about 90% of this class. He teaches really fast and expects you to understand the information instantly. Sometimes I felt hesitant to ask questions because he would make me feel silly for not knowing already. The labs are fun though and he wants to get out of there like you do.
I won't recommend to take with him because He read the lab through really fast, just try to get out of the lab early. When you ask question, he will look at you like" you are so dumb, or so stupid". You may have good grade if you are comfortable study by yourself. To me, not helpful at all. To be fair, I don't want future students to be regret .
I don't like the way he went too fast, and most of the time just reading myself and do practical. There are five activities at the same time he read through and you have to do practical. He seems to be annoyed when you ask questions. Won't recommend.
He went too fast. He doesn't like when you ask a lot of quesitons.
Here's the thing, this is anatomy lab. It is not going to be easy whomever you take it from! Jeff is awesome. To do well: print out the sheets he posts and put them in a slip cover and use an expo marker to practice, GO to open lab. I would take him again. You will not pass anatomy if you aren't putting in 100% effort.
Jeff is really nice and a funny guy. However, I think his true love is anatomy and could care less about physiology. He goes very fast, and seems annoyed when you ask him a question. It's a little embarrassing when you ask in front of the class, honestly. His tests aren't too bad if you study but expect to do most of that at home.
The phys lab book isn't very helpful but Jeff was. He was always willing to stay after class if I didn't understand something. While he did go fast in class, he was just reading the lab book which you could have done before the lab anyways. His quizzes are online and his tests were not surprising. He's a bit sarcastic, but I found him funny.
I got such a poor grade because this is my first time learning about the human body, EVER. This class is difficult too! But don't let that curve your judgement on Jeff. He is a great teacher! He finds ways for you to remember things and makes it fun. He is ALWAYS willing to help and is always thinking of his students. Great guy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I was so scared to take this class but they helped me pass my FIRST time! Chrissy the lab aid is so helpful and amazing! They both have funny ways of remembering things which helped me allot. GO TO OPEN LABS! That is the only reason I passed this class my first time. Take this class from him he's awesome!
The class in itself is tough. If you don't devote hours to memorizing and identifying, I doubt you'll do well! Jeff is very helpful at providing resources to help you study!
Jeff is an excellent teacher who honestly wants his student to learn the material. He provides a wealth of study aids for those with diverse learning styles. There are bi-weekly inclass quizzes & online quizes, but a majority (2/3's) of your grade is from two inclass practical exams that cover TONS of material. Buckle up and get ready to study.
He really cares about students and is there for you. His hilarious tips greatly helped to memorize many things. Anatomy is a difficult class so be sure to study outside of class. His class is well structured, he uses different types of teaching to get us stay focused and keep the lectures fun. Take it from him! He is amazing!!
Jeff is hilarious and has great ways to help students remember the material. Lab is a lot of work so don't fall behind. He is approachable and has great ways to helping students learn the material. Stay on top of the quizes and studying and you'll do fine! Expect a lot of study time, after all, it is an anatomy course.
Jeff is way cool, but his teaching habits for Physiology aren't the best! I took this for a second time and never went to class because I didn't feel like I learned anything but knew attendance wasn't mandatory! I like him as a person.. but not for physiology! He lacks at the explaining part for Phys, in order for the student to understand!
Gives good analogies via verbal as well as written examples. Grades fairly. Going to anatomy practice lab makes all the difference regarding cadavers. Is funny and tells he cares about the students and tries to make it fun. I took anaomy during the summer - got a B. Could of tried harder if I was more dedicated
Very funny, and teaches concepts well . Beware on his short answer quiz questions and you have got to study for tests. Go to class he will tell you exactly what you need to know. Homework is time consuming not his fault but still annoying so prepare yourself to do more in this class than your lecture class. I would take a class from him again.
I would recommend Jeff to anyone talking BIO2325. He was awesome! His quizzes are online and he gives you as many chances as you need to get 100%. The in class quizzes aren't hard at all as long as you studied the material beforehand, and at times he would make the in class quizzes fun by using a quiz app on the projector. He's great!
I think Jeff knows his subject but the physio lab is the worst lab ever! The class is overly complicated & doesn't even teach much. Plus, there is 1-3 hrs of PhysioEx work on top of the class! This is not Jeff's fault, but he does test on the PhysioEx work. Hopefully the whole lab is revamped soon because it did not contribute to my understanding.
I took A&P together, the only way I was able to do that is because of Jeff being my lab tech and Melaney Farr being my instructor. All of the quizzes and post lab write ups are on canvas. He does a lot of group labs and is a great resource.
Jeff is very knowledgeable and a funny person, however, not a great professor. He did not seem to be passionate about teaching. My lecture class was behind on the subject, so everybody was lost during lab, because he would not go over the basics. His lab is not hard to pass, but I did not feel that I learned a whole a lot.
This lab isn't hard but the MT and final are a little rough. He has questions to write at the end worth 25-30 points of the MT and final and they are killer! So study hard for those 2 tests. Otherwise it isn't too bad. The write ups are time consuming but help sum up the lab. He also does quiz's you can take as many times as you need-they arent bad
This lab is as boring as any other. You do experiments, you go home. Lecture didn't teach the same concepts during the same week as lab so that sucked. Jeff did as best he could I suppose with what he had to work with. I had him for anatomy and that lab is waaay better. That's how I know it's not Jeff, it's the lab. He's an awesome professor.
This class was so hard but so great. Jeff is an awesome teacher, and offers great tricks and ways of memorizing the endless amounts of info. This was like a foreign language, and the hardest I have ever worked in a class... and I already have a bachelors degree. Don't let the studying back up, you won't do well if this happens. Study every day.
Jeff was great! super laid back, sarcastic guy. He goes over the material quick but super easy to understand. He answers any questions you may have and his take home portion of the test was easy and the in class wasn't bad at all. I would recommend Jeff anytime.
I loved my lecture class and learned quite a bit. I was disappointed when I took Jeff's class though. He seemed not very interested in his students. He was not easily approachable without making you feel stupid. The book was terrible, so I found other means of learning this class. Easy A, but I feel like I walked away learning nothing still.
Jeff is fantastic! The lab book isn't great but he gives you better material on canvas. I felt like he really cared if I was learning. He would stay after so I could ask questions until I understood. Totally laid back and sincere. The lab does have shortcomings but without Jeff it would have been boring. Treat it as a lab, not lecture.
This class was a breeze. You don't even have to show up, just turn in the lab reports (you can get all the answers in the PDF files he posts in canvas) and do the quizzes. Jeff does play it off like the tests are going to be easy, but they are TOUGH. I got 30/50 on both the midterm and final. So be prepared for that.
Jeff tried different methods of teaching to accommodate students'' different ways of learning. For example: showing real ECGs and leads in class and showing YouTube videos with songs, pictures, etc. I was always excited to go to class.
Jeff was always using different ways to help us learn; youtube, journal articles, real life examples. He went out of his way to give extra information when the lab book was lacking. I thought his tests were easy, but I studied so if you do what you should be doing it'll be fine. I'd definitely take any class from him because he fits the way I learn
Anatomy is THE hardest class I've ever taken. The amount of things to learn is overwhelming. Jeff and his TAs are SO helpful. I studied my butt off for this class and I did well. Without Jeff I don't know if I would have passed. He has quizzes online and in class, and two tests. All fill-in-the-blank but he prepares you through his canvas site.
Jeff is a nice and funny guy but not a great instructor. Attendance isn't taken so dont stress about going to lab (you won't miss much anyway). Do Jeff's quizzes and lab reports (answers can be found in the lab manual). Study past quizzes and Jeff's lab summaries for medterm and final.
Had him for physiology lab..... worst ever!! He doesnt give you any feed back on homework. There were only two tests given, and he claims to give you a study guide. Nothing on the study guide was actually on the test. You could tell he really didnt care about this topic and sat down the entire lecture. We only watched YouTube instead of experimen
I had a different professor for anatomy lab, but Jeff allowed me to learn so much more during open labs. He knows what he's doing and he makes sure that his students are achieving their goals. This is a hard lab, no professor will force you to learn, but they can provide a good learning environment and proper instructions. The rest is up to you.
Jeff is an awesome teacher! He gets you excited about anatomy because he's so passionate about it. He is VERY approachable, hilarious and finds different ways to help students learn the material. I just finished the class, but still want to learn more! This class is hard, but it helped me do well in my lecture. Memorize every term in the lab book!
What a wonderful anatomy lab professor to have. He honestly made me excited to go to class, and I couldn't wait to hear his stories onc I got there. He makes learning anatomy fun and exciting. Definitely a must! I suggest to any student taking anatomy, MEMORIZE YOUR LAB MANUAL! This will ensure a good grade on the midterm and on the final! :)
Jeff is a great person but I had a hard time learning from him as a teacher. If you put the effort in youll pass but that means going to all open labs and participating every time he asks a question
Jeff is a great professor, really knows his stuff. He has stories and examples that help you remember specific things. Open labs are a MUST, you really learn a lot from them, attend as many as possible!
I was actually in another anatomy lab, but sat in Huff's class for more exposure to the material. I cannot say enough about this guy! Material was presented so well. Lectures are interesting. Smart & knowledgeable, was not a question he couldn't answer. Went out of his way to help me succeed. And he's hilarious! Take anatomy from Jeff Huffman!!
I seriously cannot say enough about this guy. My first lab professor (the firs time I took anatomy) knew his stuff, but he was also somewhat lazy. Jeff goes above and beyond to make sure that you KNOW the material. He brings out models, gives you mnemonics and a bunch of tips to help you learn. If you fail this lab, it's totally YOUR fault.
Jeff is a great instructor. His lectures are helpful in learning the material. However, you will need to be prepared to study outside of class. All the material you will need to know is in the lab book. Jeff also supplies a lot of resources and encourages students to find the learning style that will help students be more successful.
Jeff is an incredible lab teacher. SO thankful I had the privilege of being his student.
This was one of the hardest classes Ive ever taken. Theres no way around having to memorize terms but Jeffs teaching style made the class easier for me to learn than from my last instructor. His canvas site is better than the actual departments for the class. Study each week before the class and ask him questions. Hes a fantastic professor.
I had the hardest lecture professor, but going to Jeff's class every week was like a sigh of relief. He made everything way easy to learn and memorize and he always had a funny way of memorizing things. If you are at all nervous about taking human anatomy I HIGHLY recommend Jeff. I would take his class every semester if I could.
Jeff lectures the first part of lab while his TAs go over the term hes talking about on the model at the same time. He would also walk around and point things out, then go back to the PowerPoint. Sometimes he taught us in small groups, with his TAs teaching other small groups. I learned so much from Jeff. Study and listen to pass the first time.
Jeff is so nice. Very good class because he helped me so much.
Wow. I can honestly say that Jeff is truely exceptional at teaching. He lectures, did small group study, and was really hands on. He could answer any question and is so laid back. Anatomy is difficult, but he lets you know he was there for your success. Put in the time and you get what you give. Looked forward to every lab, hes easy on the eyes.
Really great class. Funny, smart, consistent, personable.
I took Jeff for my anatomy lab course last semester and he was beyond amazing. He is incredibly smart and will answer all your questions without making you feel dumb. He responded to my emails very quickly which was nice when I was stuck on something at home. Everything about this course was amazing. Take your lab from Jeff. 10/10
I LOVE JEFF! This is a hard class mainly because he expects you to work hard and do your very best. But the great thing is that he believes in you and gives you the tools to succeed! If you go to open labs and study, study, study and ask questions if you get behind or lost you will rock this class! I honestly miss this class!
Jeff is literally the best professor you could ever have! He cares so much about his students and always goes above and beyond with anything you need help with. I really wish there was more professors like him! He asks for feedback on what he could do better and how he can help you succeed. He makes the class fun and is seriously the best!
Jeff is awesome! He makes anatomy enjoyable! It is a super hard class but if you put in the time and effort it is easy to get a good grade!
Jeff was an amazing lab prof, I learned more from him than my lecture prof. Always willing to make time for students who need the extra work. He's TA's were great as well. Weekly quizzes on material learned from week prior, open labs are great to go to as well.
Jeff is a great teacher because he's passionate about the work. He's also very approachable so it's easy to get outside help. Sometimes he got a little too casual with is teaching style for my liking so it seemed like we wasted some time or got off topic but he knows the material and I would take a class from him again so..
Jeff knew his stuff and was willing to help you in anyway you needed. Stay for class the whole time and go to open labs because this class is hard and you need to study a lot if you want a good grade.
Jeff is the man! This class is difficult, but he explains it really well. He works with your learning style and caters to each class. He is well organized and you know exactly what is expected of you. Every lab starts out with a 10 Q quiz, bring gloves, take notes on his mnemonics, and attend open labs. There is also an online quiz weekly.
Jeff is one of the best lab teachers I have ever had. He comes down to anyone's level and uses real-world examples so that you can better understand anatomy. He is funny and his TA (Kristy) is very nice and very knowledgeable in anatomy just like Jeff. 10 Q quiz on the previous chapter before class starts. 100% recommend taking him for anatomy!
Jeff is an amazing teacher, I learned so much from taking this class from him. He has an abundance of resources for you to use, I would definitely take his practice quizzes over and over. His tests and quizzes are very simple and straight forward, just make sure you attend and be prepared to study a lot!
If you don't come to class, you are likely not going to pass this class. This class is full memorization with hands on class. Professor Huffman is far the greatest teaching professor I've had. He is funny and he will provide you all kinds of public websites you can study. Whether passing the class or not depends on you whether you study or not.
Jeff is the best and my favorite professor from Salt Lake Community College. His class is hard but he gives you great lectures and study materials. Halfway through the year we went fully online due to Covid 19 and I'mbummed because I wish I had more time in his class.
Mr. Huffman is a great teacher, he would regularly remind you of any upcoming due dates for assignments, quizzes, and tests. He used to broadcast to help students, but people started to not show up to the online learning so he got rid of broadcast. He is always available via email and answers any questions about a certain topic. I recommend him.
Jeff is a very nice guy! And I can tell he wants everyone to do well. However he is just so smart and teaches his students as if they are already Anatomist. WE are learning Anatomy! I think if he toned down the level of thinking his students should know a good amount already his class can be great, but because of that I would not take him again.
Jeff is an awesome professor!! You have to stay on top of it to pass. You can't let yourself get overwhelmed. The material is hard, but he is always there for questions and has useful tips and tricks. Beware, he is the only one that uses cadaver pictures, so his tests/quizzes are a little harder. Definitely would take him again!!
Professor Huffman was awesome to work with! He really does care about you and checks in with you frequently, which I found to be amazing! All the proactive quizzes were REALLY helpful and the fact that you could take them unlimited times. I'd take another class from him again!
Jeff truly cares if we do well. Sends motivation emails weekly. Eager to help if needed. Only thing I didnt love was that he didnt have a ton of extra credit other lab teachers gave a lot more. But I guess I didnt need it because I got an A anyways Would take him again!
Jeff was a great teacher! If you ever need help he will seriously be there for you. He wants all his students to pass and understand the material. He checks up on you personally, he cares about his students. He makes jokes to help release stress. I really enjoyed him! Defiantly recommend.
Jeff is AMAZING, he truly cares about his students personally which makes it easier to be able to balance school being acknowledged as a person and have life outside of school and sometimes it's difficult for to make school a priority, Jeff actually cares about you and wants you to succeed in all aspects of your life. He goes above and beyond
Jeff was probably one of the most clear cut professors I have had at SLCC, but keeps things light and know when his students are overwhelmed. Class is organized well and makes sure to provide different learning/studying methods to help you succeed no matter how you learn. Practice tests are identical to actual exams with rotating questions.
Jeff was a great professor! This class was extremely difficult and had a ton of information to get through. Because of Covid it had to be online and that made it extra difficult, but Jeff was understanding and was always willing to help students succeed.
Prof Huffman always made sure we had what we needed to succeed. He wants you to succeed and if you communicate your needs, he'll do his best to accommodate you. Several tests/quizzes so you do need to study because it isn't an easy A but work at it everyday and you'll be fine.
Great guy but tough class. 6 proctored exams and a lot of terms to study but he has practice quizzes which are same as proctored exams. Take practice exams like 15 times each and you'll ace the exams. Class requires a lot of study time but Huffman is great and willing to work with students. Offers 2.6% of extra credit and is lenient in grading.
Jeff makes every effort to help you succeed. Anatomy isn't an easy class but he truly gives you every resource possible to help out. I highly recommend taking his class for lab even if Jordan isn't your normal campus, it's worth the drive. Take advantage of his open labs as well and you will be in a good place to get a good grade.
TAKE JEFF! Purchasing the lab manual/making notes in it was key for me, but Jeff is so dang organized and makes sure you succeed if he sees you working for it! If you show up and learn the material I promise you will get an A! The only test was the cumulative final! You can make up work all semester if you didn't do as well as you would have liked.
Jeff is one of the best professors I've had in my college career. He provides everything possible to help his students and genuinely wants to see them succeed. His lectures were entertaining and his expectations were always clear. He is very open to feedback. Anatomy is tough, but if you put in the work Jeff is the best to learn it from.
I would take Jeff again in a heartbeat. He is so funny and down to earth. If I could go back and do it again I would purchase the lab manual, just to be more organized, but you don't need to as he provides everything on Canvas. He also provides tons of additional cool resources to learn from. You can tell he cares and wants you to succeed.
Jeff finds a way to make this difficult class fun and engaging! If you get the opportunity to take him for lab, do it! I also find anatomy fun but those who may not are still doing very well in his class. There are a lot of tools provided for study and to be successful in this class. There are also many extra credit opportunities. Take Jeff!
Jeff makes this class a little more bearable. It's a tough course with an insane amount of information given in a short time. He ask the class every week "how do you want to learn today?" Lecture? hands on activities? groups? quiz? He listens. tons of extra credit, easy on grading assignments. Midterm/final is HARD but all the extra credit helps.
Jeff is a very funny guy he makes jokes and can make anatomy fun. But just be expected to know the material. He tells you that you won't be able to know everything but for the tests you are expected to know everything. He tells you you need to know how to study the material but doesn't help you know how to study. Tests are very hard.
AMAZING! Anatomy is HARD, but Jeff will give you every resource you need to succeed. If you work hard he will work with you. If you get lucky enough to snag a seat in his class take it. He offers extra credit every week. Enough to boost your grade ~2.5%. He is caring and so helpful. He has great lab aids that help you too.
Jeff does everything he can think of to make so much information in such short time stick. He is passionate about helping his students learn. Anatomy is a really hard subject, but I actually looked forward to going to class.
Jeff has been one of my favorite professors ever. He genuinely cares about his students and wants us to learn and succeed. He always made me feel cared about, seen, and respected. I would take him for other classes if he taught other subjects!
Literally the best professor I have taken so far in college. Very knowledgeable, understanding, fun and deeply cares for his students academically and their well-being. He makes his class fun and enjoyable since he already knows that anatomy is hard. But he always reminds his students their why in why they are taking this course. TAKE HIM !!
Jeff helps all his students as best that he can. You are allowed to makeup one missed class. His exams are tough. You need to be able to look at something and pull the name out of thin air. There are never multiple-choice questions. He gives you a word bank to help with your spelling for your exams. If you don't study, you will fail this class!!
Jeff is hilarious and absolutely intelligent in teaching anatomy to his lab students. He's very caring and understands the students' perspective and will always encourage the students to close the study guides and breathe on their own time. At the same time he expected us to study the materials. He was a guide but never spoon-fed us.
Jeff is quite knowledgeable, his exams are a bit difficult but he gives you all the tools to prepare for exams. Be prepared to read and memorize a lot of material. He takes a while to answer emails but anyway taking his practice tests, reading and memorization will help you to pass this class.
Jeff was the best teacher I have ever had. He really cares about his students and wants us all to succeed. He is really passionate about his work and it shows. It is a tough class but he made it much easier to learn and he was always so helpful and answered any and all questions we had.
This class was very hard due to so much memorization you have to do, but Jeff will do anything in his power to help you out! Start early, don't procrastinate! His online quizzes are essential, they will help you pass the assessments. I highly recommend taking Jeff he's super funny and cares. He wants you to pass!
Jeff really cares about his students and enjoys the subject he teaches. He gives you so many opportunities for extra credit and has great practice quizzes to really help you understand the material. You have to work for your grade, I was studying 20hrs a week to get what I got. Plan your school schedule accordingly because this class is intense.
Jeff is funny and motivational. He gives you good ways to remember certain structures. Lots of anatomy lab is independent study without the professor but he is always there to help if you need it. The assessments are timed but not too difficult if you study the workbook and attend some open labs.
HE is a great prof and is very caring. Anatomy is hard, but he will help you and work with you. I recommend going to the open labs they are super helpful. He does do a heavy midterm and final exam, but if you go to the open labs you will do great!
Favorite class ever! Jeff is an amazing professor and I learned so much in this class. I highly recommend going to open and taking the unlimited quizzes that he has. Jeff has so many resources available.
Had Jeff for lecture & lab. Willing to adapt & teach in a way that works best for students. Having him for both classes rly helped reinforce material. I was told to switch professors bc Jeff was tough & I'm so glad I didn't. He's pretty average as far as "toughness" goes. It's evident he cares about your success & wants to make class enjoyable.
Jeff was a great professor! He's passionate about anatomy and has so many different resources to help students in their learning and studying. There were pre and post lab quizzes (open note, multiple attempts), in lab engagements (you get credit as long as they are done), in lab assessments on material from the week before, and a midterm and final.
show up=100% in lab %. buy the textbook if you can, he provides the papers needed if you cant. practice quizzes are what you will be tested on so if you get good grades on those (always available) you'll get easy A. When learning on cadavers go to open labs. By far best teaching practices to help remember names. If you DONT take him, good luck.
Jeff is hands down my favorite teacher, and he made anatomy lab my favorite class ever. The amount of effort he puts into the class is insane and he wants you to succeed! I would 100000000% recommend him!!
Jeff is very engaging. There is a ton of material you will cover and it will feel overwhelming. USE THE PRACTICE quizzes at the end of each module for each subject. they will be your savior. go to open labs. this class takes lots of repetition, you will be frustrated, but succeed if you put in the hours. you don't need the textbook or lab manual.
I had Jeff for both lab and lecture and I'm so glad I did! He is one of the best professors l've ever had. Anatomy is a tough class, but with Jeff it felt just a bit easier. He cares about his students and their success. 1000% recommend taking a class with Jeff.
Jeff was a little helpful but I wouldn't use him like a search engine. I felt he was a little like a bully in your 7th-grade middle school. The organization of the course was all over the place. Unprofessional. a little tempered and seems to care more about his pocketbook than helping each student. Run don't walk away. In all, my experience.
Jeff is one of the greatest professors I have ever had. He wanted you to get the most out of the class and cares about everyone doing their best. He asked what we wanted to learn and wanted to help us get the most out of the material. Make sure to use the practice tests and the "assessments" will be much easier.
The professor is engaging and passionate, but the course load can feel overwhelming. Using the practice quizzes and attending open labs are key to success. Unstuck study proved helpful for study prep alongside the free textbook.
Jeff is the best! I always loved coming to class ready to learn! The labs are roughly 3 hours long so keep that in mind. If you do the practice quizzes you will do great! you will need to use brute force to pass this class
I had Jeff for both lab and lecture and it was the best decision I made. This class is tough no matter who you take it from. If you put in the hours each week to study outside of class you will pass. No one will hold your hand and tell you what you need to study. If you are struggling with the cadavers or something from lecture, GO TO OPEN LAB!!!
Jeff is cool and you can tell that he cares about what he is teaching and wants to help his students succeed. While his lab is difficult, I really enjoyed it and learned a lot from him. Anatomy is a class you have to put work into regardless, so if you're willing to do that and want to learn then Jeff is a great teacher to have. Gives extra credit!
If it was an option, I would rate the class 100/5 stars. I took this class as a guest student from the University of Utah and let me tell you, Jeff is a quality professor. Better than any science professor at the U of U. You are given the RESOURCES necessary to pass the class, an A is 100% possible if you put in the work! GO JEFF OR GO HOME TBH!
Imagine LIKING an anatomy class, instead of despising it because of the fact that most professors tend to enjoy making a subject harder than it needs to be. NOT Jeff though! Jeff makes class fun, enjoyable, applicable, and more! I recommend taking the lecture and lab with him! Best professor in the state of Utah and deserves a raise! 100/5 fo sho!
My experience with Jeff has been good, however the things i have heard about jeff are not so good. But it looks like you guys wont have to worry about him as he is no longer employed at SLCC.
I was in one of Jeff's labs this semester, and out of nowhere, he was replaced. I was really enjoying him, and his teaching style clicked with me to help me understand the flood of material that is given. If SLCC is lucky enough to get Jeff back, I would certainly take advantage of him for lecture and lab. He has been amazing. Thank you, Jeff
