Very Funny! a good teacher, but his multiple choice tests are a little tough
Great...freindly and clear...tests are a bit hard but there is a nice curve
Very Good philosophy professor, made the classes worth waking up at 8 for.
makes boring stuff interesting.. nice guy.. tests are tricky, but A's are doable
No Comments
very redundant with his "cliche" lines. ANY QUESTIONS
Tests are impossible! Extremely tough grader, fortunately he's a cool guy.
"queestions.. what's unclear?" he says.. willing to help. tough tests, NICE guy.

makes uninteresting material very appealing. funny guy who spices up class
nice guy funny makes class fun tests seem easy but lower grade then expected
Good teacher; very repedative..Questions, What's unclear?
Attend lectures & test reviews (don't need to read texts), and you'll do great.
good class, lectures sometimes even funny, could make test alittle easier
Good lectures on sometimes boring subjects. Tests can be tricky. Very fair.
very funny guy. makes class interesting & easy. curves tests to help grades
No Comments
Nice guy, test are sorta hard, but I thought he needed a sexy vote
i hope he keeps saying "wats unclear?"
seemed easy at first, but not so much!!!!!!!!
great teacher, very interesting, tough but fair tests. go to the reviews
funny/good views. pay attention and you'll be fine. makes class interesting.
Great guy, really nice and funny. always helpful, great stories to tell...
gr8 teacher, not so easy but ok,
Hilarious. Made class a lot of fun.
great guy, fun class, tests are hard. always says, "questions? whats unclear
great philo teacher
Hes a funny guy, i enjoy class. tests kinda hard
class is not boring. take good notes and the tests are cake
funny guy, very personable, clear and interesting lectures
u MUST take this class.Tests arent as easy as seems,must study,do readings=A-B
oh my god... he is the best, hilarious, class is enjoyable and interesting
great teacher...makes phil fun...go to class and do readings = at least a B
boring, self-centered, dorky, close-minded
A real nice guy but don't miss class!
Hilarious! Great stories, difficult tests, great guy! take this class!
lets too many dumb people ask questions all class period
No Comments
agreed...doesn't regulate on the morons. nice guy, class is boring
Interesting, but too many people ask irrelevant questions!
I swear, this man reminds me way too much of Jeffrey Dahmer.
QUESTIONS?!?!?! Jaime you had your hand up...you're stupid...... QUE
prof. of phil. have all the answers, but they can be wrong, ok class
people argue with him like he hasnt been teaching philosphy for 10 years!
agreed, he's teach the philosophy of others, not his own! ppl dont get this!
ONLY ONE OR TWO PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS & THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!!
funny funny funny guy, hard tests, but funny guy
funny guy, funny stories, easy class, hard tests, ya
class is so easy you just gotta go...funny guy tests relevant to lecture
Go to lecture and read. STUDY = you'll do fine. Tests are reasonable
great teacher.. funny guy, makes classes very interesting
interesting class, funny teacher, but impossible exams
not a hard class, do some of the readings and take notes, makes class interestin
Sometimes unclear lectures, but everything is on handouts. A little boring.
just go to class and its easy- only bad thing is losers who aregue (jamie)
JORDAN = GOD! Loved his class take it !!
long boring lectures, hard tests, good handouts, hard for visual learners
Funny guy. Smart guy. His tests are only difficult if you're an idiot.
Funny teacher and easy class - test is from your notes - go to class for an A
HE ASKED FOR A SEXY VOTE...SO HERE IT IS....
Knows when you're bored and tells a joke. Read handouts, take notes! Great prof.
Tough class, but he makes you wanna learn...question?!
take pass/fail just get the handouts and take 3 tests, no need for class
Great Prof=knows his stuff, HE IS GOD(if u like phil!) Very Sexy:)

this guy is entertaining! Dude is clear as crystal. You will have sooo much fun in his class, and he's bangable.
very clear, pretty easy, tells some good stories and keeps it entertaining
I LOVE JORDAN
awsome professor, quite funny, tells stories and jokes. tests are very easy. just study the hand outs and the notes. def take him.
Took 2 online courses... easy and informative. Just watch the videos and you'll be fine. Recommended. PHIL 102 - Intro, PHIL 203 - Ethics
Interesting and informative. And despite popular belief, you do need to attend class. Yeah the notes are fantastic but some questions are taken from the lecture. He makes the class interesting enough where it won't be hard to drag your a*s out of bed...
Jordan is KEWL !! definately take him n u'll get an "A" if u study his notes n handouts.I LOVE HIS JOKES, HIS JJ(dog) n JORDAN ;-)
My favorite professor ever! He rocks my world!! and he always has quick amazing comebacks for philosophy nerds that think they know everything and try to argue with him. And i think he's a pretty hot man like George Clooney.
Great Teacher. Class wasn't bad at all. Just get all the handouts and do the practice questions and you'll get an A
good prof very easy exams literally gives you answers
Fairly effortless class- go to class, read dittos he gives...tests are decent, some studying required...odd guy, usually pretty funny and interesting lectures- recommend for an easy group requirement course
Interesting lectures, often humorous. Gives handouts for each class, but going to class helps to understand concepts. Exams require studying but aren't too demanding. Recommend him.
Great teacher, entertaining class, fair tests. Take this class
Loved this course, even when i was feeling my worst, i got out of bed to listen to his lectures. very helpful, just study the handouts and you'll do fine
great class...lectures were interesting...he jokes around alot class was never boring... tests aren't too bad as long as you study
Material can be a bit dry at times, but he's entertaining and obviously interested in what he teaches.
interesting class, tests are passable as long as you study. he's a pretty easy going guy.

Easy class; DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PHILOSOPHY!! Probably the only philosophy teacher ever to say ‘just because’ or ‘that’s too apparent to dispute’. Tests are ok; test memorization rather then if you grasp the concepts. Doesn’t show up for appts made for after class in class
Easy Class as long as you pay attention. With that in mind, realize that this is an introductory course(100 level)!!! If you know philosophy take another class. BTW he never said "just because" or "that's too apparent to dispute" He will gladly debate an issue with you and you will probably lose :-)
took through video tapes, great prof very interesting. watch tapes and youll be fine
overall a nice guy, a little arrogant. it is important to go to class, gives out handouts with most of the lecture info. dont do the readings as they are assigned. at the review session he ends up telling you half of them arent on the test.
Jordan is the man. Makes PHIL sooo interesting. Dont need to read books to do well...he gives you his notes, dont need to record anything. AWESOME!!!
Hated this guy.
Ethics I thought was going to be painful to get through, it wasn't. Jordan talks about some topics that are intresting to every individual. Test kinda hard but doable. You need to study the power point (ESP. for online class!!!) Take him.
way to hard for a 100 class, his lectures were nonsense.. its amazing how someone can strech 15 mins of material into in hour...his grading scale is way off to, Don't take him.. find someone else
his lectures were boring and a waste of time - you only need the handouts that he gives in class.. he sucks at teaching- find someone else
don't just pick up the handouts!!! thats bs, cause u have to go to class to understand his handouts. This class is easy if u want a class u dont have to do much for, just not an easy A, tests trick u up a little, but overall a good interesting professor, just go to class and try to understand
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE...most unhelpful professor ever. Tests were ridiculously tricky. Not easy like the other ratings claim.
Great guy, hard class. Need to really study for the exams but can manage a good grade if you work for it.
Okay class, make sure you UNDERSTAND the handouts fully! Also try to keep up on the readings since usually 20% of his exams are based on them. Very helpful professor though always encourages questions and never belittles you.

Looks like Joey Gladstone from Full House. Other than that, makes sure each student is clear, very easygoing class.
He's so helpful, and his sense of humor makes the class enjoyable.

great teacher, very helpful
great teacher
This guy honestly rocks, he's the only class i find myself going to all the time. He's really nice and funny, he's not an arrogant **** like most professors. Get him!!
This class is very hard! The material is very difficult to understand and Dr.Jordan isnt very clear. He is a nice guy, however, he needs to do a better job explaining the handouts and putting things into simple terms. He seems wishy washy.
He's really cool and always willing to help. The great thing is that he doesn't take the class or himself too seriously so I never mind goin to class
Easygoing, silly, and serious about his subject. Knows very little about popular culture, but this makes him so darn lovable. Tests are pretty tough, but the class is pretty great overall.
ha has a good sense of humor and makes the class enjoyable. i acutally like going to this class. but the tests are confusing the way he words the questions.
He is so happy go lucky. How a guy like this teaches philosophy is beyond me. I was skeptical at first, but his take on the issues is a bit refreshing if not a little annoying at times. He's an ok lecturer, but gets off topic sometimes - for example, a 20 minute story about something entirely unrelated. "QUESTIONS??" gets pretty annoying.
Jordan is a hot tamale. His tests are a little difficult because of the clarity of the questions. If you go to him during office hours he's very helpful. Brings his dog to review sessions. He is very personable. Recommended!
really cool, funny guy. His stories are hilarious. Tests arent bad. he gives you hand-outs with all the notes so you dont really have to take any. Very helpful.
Well his tests seemed hard to me on the first two exams just because i didnt read carefully. AND the options for multiple choice questions are quite similar but if you read the questions carefully and go to class you will do really well. I recommend this guy for everyone. I loved his class and was the most talkative student .
I was excited to take this class, but was disappointed in his way of teaching.Only 3 exams-final is NOT cummulative no midterm. Not very easy 2 understand-test ?s are extremely tricky(seems like there is more than 1 answer)-should go 2 class bcuz notes are not clear enough 2 teach oneself.Use office hours and I would suggest tape recording lectures.C
Tests are tricky. Class is simple. He tends to go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the course. You'll get sick of "QUESTION?? WHO HAS QUESTIONS?"
His tests are a bit tricky. You HAVE to read the test questions carefully. I didn't the first time and got a D. The 2nd test I read them carefully and got an A-. If anything is unclear, he is almost always in his office and is happy to help.
Easiest class ever...take it to fill a requirement because it is a no stress class that has very minimal reading.
This guy has a pretty big ego. Bragged about other jobs he had been offered. In class he stated his opinions a lot. The class is not really taught with a neutral stance so beware. Overall the material is interesting. Don't bomb one of the tests because there are only three and that is the entire grade for the class.
The reading are old english!!! It's hard to understand them and the tests were difficult. Bad teacher and I wouldn't take his class again. Got D's on both tests and studied my ass off!
great class. read over material for exams and go to class and you'll be fine. makes sure you understand his lectures. had class at 9:30 and didn't mind waking up early to go.
Great guy, great lectures, great class. Exams can be a bit tricky but you should still be able to get a decent grade if you just do a lil studying.
Jordan is a great teacher, very entertaining. His lectures are clear and everything you need to know is in the supplement. Study and go to class and youll do well.
Easy class, funny guy. Do the readings and go to class, and the tests are no problem.
The guy's really nice and funny. It was a group fufillment for me so I was not very interested in the material, but it wasn't overly difficult. Exams you do need to know your stuff, but I'd take him again if he was teaching a different Group A/B.
awesome teacher...hysterical
His lectures are easy to understand - he repeats things over and over. The supplement has everything you need to know from his lectures, so you're supplied with an excellent set of notes from the beginning. His tests aren't that hard as long as you go to class and study. He's sooo funny, tells lots of stories that have nothing to do with the class.
I really hate philosophy, so that might be why I didn't do so well. BUT, it seems to be a motif with these phil profs that you go to class, take notes, study, then get the test and go huh? They always seem to ask these questions you can barely understand. Maybe that's why I hate it so much. Other than that, Jordan is pretty cool, and funny too.
He wrote a whole book about PASCAL'S WAGER... Very religious and intolerant of arguments he doesn't support. Deliberately misquotes philosophers he doesn't agree with. If you have any interest in philosophy (and aren't just looking for an easy A), DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES! Ethics is a really cool class though, just take it with someone else!
Everything you need to know for this class is in the course supplement. Bring it to class, follow his lecture with a highlighter and take notes in the margin. Tests are tricky enough that you need to put in some work for an A. PS - He's great in person, but his online class is terribly BORING! (but also fairly easy)
Such a nice man. Very interesting and prepared. Take this class!
BOOOOORRRRIIINNGGG!!! If you can sit through his online lectures, wow, you have a lot of patience. test are straightforward. Will ask question or two to make sure you view lecture and not just reading the slides. same as using book. but most from slides themselves. very, easy B. it's obvious that he favors Christianity. is america as apple pie.
Professor Jordans pretty cool and funny. his class is easy as long as you pay attention and read the supplement. it has almost everything you need to no, so you dont have to take alot of notes. i like philosophy so i enjoyed this class. i recommend it.
He was funny in his own dorky way but he basically teaches everything from the book that he wrote. If you read from his book and go to class just so he can at least try to clarify it then you'll get a better grade. Good class but he will make his opinions on the topic known to you so don't be shocked.
Very cool and relaxed teacher. Repeats most things, giving several examples so you can understand each topic. The only boring part of class was when several questions are asked at one time and everyone tends to lose focus. Three tests basically from his Supplement and some reading questions thrown in. I would gladly take another class with him.
This class was very easy. The material in the supplement book covers almost everything on the tests. Prof Jordan was clear in his lectures, and is an extremely nice guy.
I thought the class was extremely boring and uninteresting. If you aren't interested in religion, don't take the class. He cracks a lot of jokes that aren't funny, but you should laugh anyways.
Great teacher. Makes the material really interesting and entertaining. I don't know why no one laughed at his jokes, they were really funny. The only downside to the class is the annoying kids who always ask pointless questions just to try to look smart.
Go to class. Read the book. He likes to ramble, but the tests are all multiple choice.
He's a decent teacher, I guess, but a horrible philosopher! I swear, I'm smarter than this guy! He'll constantly make statements like "a and b, so obviously c" when the conclusion is WAY off in left field and relies on TONS of assumptions! If you want an easy online class, you've got it, but don't take him seriously or you'll come out dumber.
Very Easy. I love this class. My lowest test grade was a 94. He gave a 6 point curve when the average was a 79 already. The last person to comment said he didnt like him because he makes assumptions well that is mostly what philosophy is based on. If there were no assumptions it would be more of a science. Great prof he makes the class fun too.
Great guy and a really interesting class. Tests are not that difficult and its easy to get a B in the class however getting an A might require a little more effort. Overall a great class to take though
Prof. Jordan is the man. Real Smart, and knows his stuff. Easiest B you'll ever get, A isn't hard either. 3 exams/3 = grade. Tests come straight out of the stupplement he gives you. If your good at memorizing stuff, take this dude. Not a hard class.
big lectures. should go to class to do okay. tests are fair, but tough. Sometimes don't know what exactly to study for tests.
Horrible class especially if you take it online, has no direction in his lecture and seems very unsure about the entire subject, try to avoid this professor if you have to, but if you take him don't get your hopes up cause you'll be sorely disappointed.
Hes an awesome man and a professor, hilarious to say the least. He did his best to make a not so interesting class amusing, and made it worth while to go. I didn't do so well but i recommend it to anyone. Hes a great guy, helpful, and just tries. Even with the annoying know it all in the back. Tough class, but hes a good prof.
knows the stuff, is funny and interesting. I enjoyed the class, asks every minute for questions which is good unless you have a really annoying kid in the class. an easy A
class was interesting, but the people in it were annoying because they looooved to talk about philosophy. jordan is a great guy though, and i laughed a lot. buy his lecture notes and follow along in class. tests aren't too bad, but do well bc they are your only grade
Took this class online, Professor Jordan is pretty funny, found myself laughing out loud at some of his comments and stories. Must watch the lectures though if taken online! Tests can be tricky, just because a lot of info, but overall easy and interesting class, great professor!
AMAZING TEACHER. makes boring lectures funny and interesting. go to his office hours, you can get points back on tests!! not hard to do but very worth it. get to know him! great guy who actually cares about how his students do. show some interest and he will be willing to give back.
Nice guy-but doesn't give allowance for explanation of philosophy. Multiple Choice doesn't cut it for Philosophy. Essay paper saves grade if you aren't skilled in "gotcha" questions. Poor examination questions based on his MOS-Yes I did OK on his tests-but Philosophy is more than double negatives on test questions...Needless
I took this class online, pretty easy class and the workload isn't too bad if you stay on top of it. There are two tests, a final and a short paper. He is very helpful if you go to office hours. I would reccommend this class.
Excellant Professor, takes what could be a boring topic and makes it very interesting! I really enjoyed the lectures and he is very knowledgeable. Exams are straight forward. Go to class, study, and you are sure to get an A
Awesome professor! Lectures were pretty interesting, and he includes hilarious anecdotes. I never opened the books and ended up with an A. Took it online. 3 mc tests and a short paper.
Great professor..really nice guy-go to office hours! Test questions can be kind of ambiguous but if you go talk to him and explain your answers he will give you points back. Definitely take a class with him.
Quite possibly the worst teacher at UD. Exams are impossible and his lectures make no sense. Avoid at all costs.
Professor is hilarious during lectures. Do not be discouraged, first two days of class are boringgg. Take really good notes (he doesn't have ppt's or anything). I would recommend rewriting the handouts he gives you in your own words. Take the time the read the assigned readings, they will show up on exams. 3 tests and that's it, so do well on them.
He is hilarious. His lectures are very interesting for the most part. You must study for the exams, they are tough, but definitely manageable. Try to do all the readings, about twenty percent of the test comes from them. The textbook contains all the notes he talks about in class and is extremely helpful. You do have to work a little do to well.
Pretty funny and an interesting class but exams get tricky. 3 tests and that's your whole grade. DONT RUSH THROUGH THE TESTS. Definately go to class for notes he dosen't have powerpoint or anything and you have to do the readings. Overall, if you put some effort up it's not bad. Didn't do too much work and got a B, can't complain
Completely devout Christian who pushes his religious beliefs all throughout his lecture. Incorrectly presented information on Dora's case in his lecture on Freud. Clearly uses this intro class to push his own agenda and beliefs. Tests are done fairly. Do not take unless you have to, very poorly poor organization on slides
first of all professor jordan doesn't use slides, referring to the person under me. If you want to take a philosophy class, take him. I got a 94 on the first test honestly just go to class and read his supplement. He's a good teacher and anyone who says otherwise is just lazy or totally disinterested in Philosophy. not that bad.
super easy, who ever gave him a bad review must just be a bitter person. he makes things interesting and isnt afraid to make you challenge what you previously believed. he remains objective and plays devil's advocate for every possible side of each arguement. only 3 tests that really weren't bad
Lecture can be a bit boring at times but overall not a bad class. Go to class because most of the test comes from lecture. 3 tests make up your grade, 50 mc not bad very fair. Gives a review sheet before each exam, holds a review session and will answer any questions through e-mail or office hours. Good choice for Breadth A
By far the easiest class I ever took.. I highly recommend it for a Group A class! He was a great teacher.. taught the material and threw in some jokes/stories to make the class a little more interesting. Sure, some of the lectures were a little boring, but overall I thought the class was interesting. 3 exams (50 multiple-choice) make up your grade.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Most of the class is just learning vocab words. Show up to class, pay attention, take notes = easy B. I studied for 15 min per exam and got an A. Professor is easygoing and funny, lectures are entertaining. Notes are just scribbled on the blackboard, but the info is so simple that it doesn't matter.
QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took this class online and do not recommend. He is not clear in his lectures. His tests are not that easy. I have not learn anything, definitely not an easy A or B for that matter
I highly do not recommend this class. Don't get me wrong, Professor Jordan is an AWESOME professor, one of my favorites here at UD. However, if you don't have any interest in Philosophy you are going to struggle. Lectures are extremely deep and hard to follow. His tests are also difficult.
I started out really interested in the subject until I encountered this teacher. He teaches with an agenda not relating to the topic, but his personal opinions. Tests were difficult and there were never opportunties to make sense of the material. If you asked questions in class he would talk in circles. Not recommended.
Not a good professor. Focuses too much on being a funny guy or keeping you awake rather than teach the subject. You can think you know everything for the test and then be fooled when you see the questions. do not recommend
Wow the people on here! Honestly he does have an agenda, he promotes his views. But that means he's very passionate about the subject, even if its a little biased. Great guy, very intelligent, and easily my favorite professor at UD so far. Not an easy A due to block grading and only 3 grades (all test) but fairly easy B. Recommend for your Group A.
Terrible professor do not recommend at all honestly so unclear and unhelpful. I had no idea what he was saying during every single lecture. Pointless readings that you must read multiple times to understand. Tests (3) hard and confusing. DOOO NOT TAKE THIS AS A GROUP A WAY TO HARD. Harder than calculus !! I got a b
Really cool guy, doesn't really require a huge ton of effort to get a good grade but can't just not try at all either
Terrible class. Way to hard to be a group A requirement and would not recommend it to anyone. This teacher is self-righteous and makes you do readings from the textbook that do not make sense.(He also wrote the textbook) which should not be allowed at schools due to requiring students to buy his work.
Very easy class, Difficult to get an A, but an easy B for sure. Just go to class and play attention and youll be fine
I can't believe anyone would recommend this professor. He is easily my least favorite professor at UD, absolutely crazy, didn't learn anything. Would never recommend anyone take this class
Way too hard for intro class. Also the way he teaches philosophy is awful. He uses probability equations all the time that make no sense. I went to every class, got all the clicker questions, tried on the test and still only got a B. Avoid him if you can. And if you take this be ready to hear QUESTIONS a million times a class.
The lecture were video tapped from the early 2000's. The lectures were boring and almost everything he talks about he says has been disproved. Just a silly class with too difficult information for a 100 level class. do not take as a group a requirement
I don't understand any reviews bashing this guy. Not only was the course incredibly easy, Professor Jordan has some interesting quirks that make him a unique and fun teacher. Sure the lectures can be quite boring at times, but he tries his best to captivate our interest. Whether he is yelling "Questions!" or telling a story, he's the man!
Jordan is clearly very interested in Philosophy, but the way he teaches can be weird and hard to follow. He presents everything as an argument then critiques it, but posts the slides online before class, which is helpful. There are only 3 tests, which are easy enough to pass if you go to class and pay attention. He like to shout "Questions?"
His account of the difficult distinction between prudential and epistemic reasons was as thrilling as it was masterful. Highly highly recommend.
Took this class because I was required to take something for group A. I thought it would be about different philosophers and a variety of personal philosophies in general (Which it should have been). Instead I got to hear this old man ramble about Christianity for a semester and push his views on us. Then the tests were also insane.
Dr. Jordan is a really nice guy who is passionate about philosophy. He does his best to make students interested. Lectures are long and lots of people fall asleep, but attendance is mandatory because he has clicker questions throughout class (the answers you give don't matter) that add up to 10% of your grade. 3 MC exams (one during finals week)
Lectures were very interesting, overall this was my favorite class at UD. However, it's very confusing and he recommends studying for 40 minutes every night. Only 3 exams which are straight from class notes. Don't take this class unless you plan on giving it your full attention.
I had to change this class to a passfail because the tests were so hard. I went to class every day and did not pass, yet people who never went to class passed the tests. Worst classtests ever and are designed to trick you. DO NOT TAKE.
Great professor, very interesting. If you do the one reading assigned a week you will have a good understanding of the class. Show up, do the work, and youll be fine. One of my favorite professors... QUESTIONS!!!!
Like all philosophy classes, you need to do the reading to understand it. He tries to be funny and if you pay attention in class it isn't terrible. He will like you more if you go to his office hours often. Gives review sessions before each exam and has clicker questions just for participation. Not a bad group A but you do have to work for it.
Professor Jordan is a very laid-back and approachable guy. Sometimes his lectures can be a bit confusing but if you show up for class and pay attention, you can do well on the exams. He doesn't trick you nearly as much as other professors do. He also has a good sense of humor, which is nice considering that lectures are pretty long.
JJJ is a very funny professor. He relates his lectures to stories about his life. There are only 3 exams, the homework assigned are optional and if you do them you get extra credit. If you go to his office hours, he explains everything. The exams are all multiple choice straight from his lectures so try to take good notes.
took this as a breadth requirement- not really my favorite subject but jordan makes it bearable. do the hw for extra credit, & go to class-- clicker ?s count! the exams are straight out of the notes(on sakai) & readings so just make sure you read carefully. overall a great guy who wants you to succeed and loves what he does. QUESTIONS???
I found Jordan to be kind of strange, but funny at the same time. His lectures were confusing sometimes, but studying the powerpoints and quizlets really helped. Remember that when he asks for volunteers to hand out exams on test days volunteer! He gives out extra credit to those people!
Upsides: It's possible to get and A in this class IF you do all the readings and pay attention in class. He's funny Downsides: His slides are kind of hard to follow because of abbreviations Attendance is 10% of your grade Readings are kinda long
Not going to lie, this was a very tough breadth course. It is not impossible to do well but unless you are willing to do the work, I would take another class. Jordan is an awesome professor and is definitely willing to help you if YOU make the effort to see him. If you have no interest in philosophy I would find another class to take.
You are the most wonderful professor. Thank you for furthering and reigniting my love for philosophy.
You have to go to class but JJ's a bro
Good guy. Class was a little more difficult because examinee questions can be tricky. QUESTIONS?????
I took the class online and watching the lectures was torture. Most of the time I would wait until the week before exams and cram, but the recordings are from 2005 which makes learning tough. Exams can be tricky, and there is 1 easy paper. I'd take him again in person but online- never again.
Jeff Jordan was great. As long as you go to class and do the readings you will be fine. I definitely recommend. He also can be very funny.
He makes philosophy as fun as it can be (not that fun still, though). He gives lots of extra credit opportunities and the exams are relatively fair.
Jordan was a good professor. He made Philosophy interesting but lectures would get very boring from time to time. There are only three exams.
Super goofy nice guy. His powerpoints are all online but go to class because 10% of your grade is participation points for answering a clicker question. All the homework is optional but you get extra credit for doing them and they are super easy. He writes the textbook so if you read it and do his test prep its literally IMPOSSIBLE not to get an A.
Dr. Jordan is pretty great. In the beginning his lectures were a little confusing but you eventually understand how he speaks/writes. He's super funny and his tests are pretty straight-forward. The HW is optional but it counts are extra credit on the final. He also brings his dogs to the study sessions!! QUESTIONS?!?!?!?!
The material can be hard to understand but overall its an okay class. Grade is based on three exams and clicker points for attendance. He gives homework for extra credit. The exams aren't terrible but you have to pay attention in class to do well. slides aren't the best and I didn't really like his teaching style but it is good for a breadth course
Dr. Jordan is a funny guy and tried to make the material interesting, which honestly it kind of was. Once you get how he teaches and how he words test questions, you should be fine. Two exams and one final plus 10% of your grade is clicker points. Do the readings and extra credit hw. Not really a hard breadth class as long as you put in effort
It's a really boring class, he tries his best to make it interesting but one time that lead to a strange story about a kitten murder. He's an amazingly nice guy but the way he explains material is extremely confusing, I believe he tries to appeal to left brain, math oriented people but it doesn't really work. Great guy tho.
Jordan's a funny, intelligent, and standup guy. He makes the topics very interesting and easy to understand. We have 3 exams. Homeworks are optional and count as extra credit on the last exam. Clickers count as easy points, so go to class. Everyone should have him at least once in their time at UD. I would recommend him to all. QUESTIONSSS!!!
Jeff is a great guy who definitely cares about his students and wants to help them. That being said some of his teaching techniques are questionable. He tries to explain ideas by writing normal sentences like math equations, or making pointless graphs. If you dont find the subject interesting i really do not recommend
I took this class online and it was a good. You can get an A in this class, if you do all the lectures, readings, study guide, practice exam and extra credit. When watching the lectures, pay extra attention when Dr, Jordan says "Questions?", and "What's not Clear?". It is a indication of the content that you will see again while taking the exams.
Okay so this class was high key boring but it was pretty light. Only three tests, no finals. I studied the day of or the day before and got A's. Read to textbooks tho, he tests you on those. 1-2 graded clicker questions per class so go. He sends out about 10 homework aka extra credit assignments, each worth 1 extra point on the last test.
Jordan is a great professor. Great class.
One of those professors who makes the experience of college worth it. The class isn't too difficult even for those who are uninterested, but there is also plenty of space for growth and conversation in the provided materials if one cares enough to learn. So care enough to learn and take his classes. You'll do yourself a huge favor.
Philosophy 100 with Jordan is a super easy and fair course. Definitely take it for a breadth. It can get slightly boring, but the material is really not hard. If you show up to class and put in minimal effort you will do well. Clicker questions/attendance count for 10%. He offers a lot of extra credit each week throughout the whole semester.
the class is easy, but if you dont stay on track its easy to fall behind. however, you can review everything a week before and do decent on the tests. they are taken at the testing center so you cant cheat. but he is super nice and super understanding and is willing to help you do better on tests.
Awesome dude, pay attention and copy slides you'll be set, 1/5 of tests based on. readings, but I never did any. (Volunteer to pass out tests when you can). Tests not hard if you actually study notes. Exam 1 23%, Exam 2 33%, Final 33%, Clicker 10%
So, the only good thing I can say about Jordan is his continuous "QUESTIONS!?" phrase used time again in class. Unfortunately, one of the exams was completely canceled hence leaving two exams for the semester. He weighed the exams equally even though the first exam was 80% of the course. He also refused to give extra credit to those who did it...
the exams were so hard and he is so boring its hard to pay attention. you have to go to class because of clicker questions there's like 2 every class and they're graded. the lecture slides are posted but not all of them. he will not give extra credit even though the class is so difficult. way too hard for a breadth course dont do it.
This class sucks I dont recommend taking it. I took it for a breath class and the exams are extremely difficult. He makes this class harder than it needs to be. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit which is nice but the exams are impossible. Dont take this class.
The homeworks were a joke and attendance wasn't mandatory, but if you did attend class you'd get extra credit points. The exams were impossible and not even based off of in class lectures. 95% of the exam content came from video classes, so if you didn't watch them you were probably gonna fail the exam
his lectures are so boring and unhelpful and tests are impossible. so annoying for a 100 level class. def do not take him
He is an amazing person. He is so funny and genuinely knows the material he is teaching. Be ready to read, there are always readings you have to do. I did not do well on his tests because the way he words the questions are very complicated. He does curve test grades and gives extra credit. I would take another one of his classes just not Philosophy
This class made me fall in love with philosophy. If you like that stuff then definitely take this class. People only say its boring because theyre not interested in it, but you really do have to pay attention and go to class if you wanna do well. Exams arent hard if you just come to class and review the content.
Prof Jordan is cool he def knows the material and teaches it well, but you gotta study outside of class for sure. This class isn't an easy 100 level course or breadth but you'll learn if you apply. Just 3 exams all MC. First 24%, second/third 33% and 10% clicker points
Took this class async, only 4 assignments the whole semester, 3 exams, and 1 (500 word) paper. He also gave us one extra credit assignment which was another really short paper. To pass you need to have done all lectures and readings, but they are not horrible. He explains everything really well.
Absolutely awful. Test questions asked about random things he said in class that weren't on the slides. Grade was made up of 3 exams and clicker question points. Class was mandatory since clicker questions were given in every class. He also doesn't allow you to take notes on your laptop and he either drags through slides or talks really quickly.
He is a nice person, however, his class is just as boring as watching grass grow.
Interesting, intellectually honest guy but a dry lecturer. Spends most of class walking through arguments on his slides and expects you to remember the key concepts for exams. Class format was two exams, clicker questions, and a short term paper. Occasionally offered extra credit opportunities. If you like analytical philosophy, this class 4 u.
he's a good professor, but his class is very boring and the exams are very tough, which is bad because the only grades are the exams and clicker questions.
I didn't feel as if he was always presenting every topic we learned about in good faith, but he was obviously passionate about his material which certainly helped when it felt like the class was dragging on a bit.
Easy class with easy tests. Lectures can be long but they go over everything you need to know for the test. Not much to say about this class. On a side note, Professor Jordan sometimes had some choice opinions on some topics.
Not bad if you stay on top of asynchronous classes. usually 2 lectures a week split into 2-4 videos, but manageable. 3 exams in the testing center. several extra credit opportunities and only 6 easy homework assignments all semester. always responds to emails. would take this class again
very difficult. u get hw assignments and extra credit opportunities but neither of those do much for ur grade because the 3 tests at the testing center make up ur entire grade.if u aren't great keeping up with ASYNCH class material dont take this class.
Jeff Jordan is the man. Offers extra credit opportunities that boost your grade tremendously. Go to class, take good notes, and put in the time before exams and you will end with an A. Overall great class taught by an even better professor.
Great professor. The topics covered are interesting and he can answer any question you have about them. I didn't make it to every class, missed an assignment, and still finished with an A. He is an amazing teacher and the tests don't feel like their trying to trick you, everything is covered in class or in readings.
His lectures are typically long and he can talk really fast. Make sure you take notes. He is a really nice guy and cares about his students. The tests do have questions on there about readings so make sure you read. The tests are straightforward, he doesn't try to trick you. He gives you practice exams so be sure to utilize them. Just study.
Jeff Jordan is a tremendous guy. The lectures are typically pretty long, but he makes them engaging and wants discussion to occur. He really cares about his students. The material can be a lot, and it can be difficult, but he offers lots of study guides and has review sessions to help for the exams. Attendance is mandatory unfortunately.
Jordan was a great professor. I joined his class late to satisfy a breadth and ended up finding a love for philosophy. He is truly passionate about his job and will answer any question. Attendance isn't mandatory but some exam questions are directly from class. Exams are pretty easy and he offers extra credit.
Great guy. He's the reason I added a philosophy minor. Super clear when teaching. Awesome when answering questions in and outside of class.
Professor Jordan is a great lecturer who makes the material engaging. Attend classes, take notes, and use resources like the free textbook and unstuckstudy ai to prep for tests. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it. Definitely a class worth taking.
Exams require a lot of studying! Only about 3-4 exams the whole year and 1 assignment and that is it for grades. Very stressful time when exams came around. He's a pretty nice guy, but a boring teacher and doesn't provide any enthusiasm in the lectures. Was painful going to class every day.
