He hardly taught us anything. Our class was from 1:30 to 3:50. We usually left at 2:15. Many students and I felt like we were teaching ourselves the material. No calculators.
Did not prepare me more the next class.
good guy, he will go out of his way to help you.
he's great. teaching style is kind of spontaneous, but he tells you what is going to be on the test. very helpfull, he will sit and explain things in plain english. very, bright, he doesn't use a calculator in class, but students can.
Jeff has a very direct style and does a good job of walking you through what you need to know. If you follow along and actually put in the effort to learn what he is teaching, you will do fine. He is an easy grader. We didn't leave early, he stayed and we worked on homework + had quizzes.
cool guy.
FUN! Great teacher. Great person. Easy to talk to. Very helpful. Leaneant grader. Smart! Wants you to see the big picture. Reccomended. Anti-strict. You don't have to line up your equals signs like other teachers. A+++
Great teacher overall but his tests are quite difficult. Of course the real issue is that calculus is difficult. He's willing to help as much as he can, after/before class, etc. He's very fun and relacksed :) in class. Even if you flunk, at least you'll have had a good time.
Jeff's class was too laid back and easy. I was not prepared for MTH 252.
Looks like Steve Buschemi, but better looking. Very sweet! Very helpful with calc, which is not easy. Did some stuff on the board one time that lost me, he requested we trust him, then all became clear later...challenged us too, which is also good.
Jeff is an excellent teacher. He is definately laid-back and that might not translate well into 252 if you take a different teacher. You will still learn a lot in his class, just keep in mind that most other math teachers are sticklers compared to him. He has a great personality and is very funny too!
Jeff is the bomb diggity. He gives you practice exams before each exam. His real exam is almost exactly like his practice ones, which makes studying very easy. You are assigned quite a bit of homework, but the homework is not turned in. You get quizzed on one of the homework questions about once a week. Just do your work and you will pass.
Best damn teacher, EVER! Jeff is the nicest guy and the best math teacher I've ever had. He made the material so clear and he is there for his students every step of the way. He is so casual and laid back and makes the class fun... as fun as calculus can be anyway. He gives sample tests which make the real tests easy if you do the sample tests.
Instructor is lazy. Very nitpicky about answers, and shows bias against some students. Will not check homework to tell you what you did right or wrong but assigns it anyway. Bad experience. Told classmate "I am rooting for you to fail this class"
Great teacher. Jeff understands student's situation and though he is a laid back guy, he will make sure you understand what you need to. Jeff may come off as a little lazy, but his teaching methods are clear and easy to follow. you just need to understand math.
This guy is a lazy (not laid back)----! He told the class he didn't care if we passed or failed, because either way he still gets paid. On the first test the class average was 53%, he blamed all of us. DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER!
Jeff is a great teacher, I would suggest him for any level of math. He just seems to understand math, and though at times it seems like he can't express exactly what he wants his students to understand he's a great guy. I didn't do amazingly well in his class but I not only like him, I respect him.
Jeff rocks! His dry humor is perfect for a the subject and he is able to communicate the course content very well. Show up to class, do the homework and you'll come away with a good grade.
Jeff is friendly and funny and makes learning math a comfortable experience. I took both math 60/65 with him and my only wish is that I could have continued on with him for 95/111c. He is genuinely interested in making sure students understand the topics to the best of his ability. He is an asset to any school's math department. Highly recommended.
Very laid back. Lectures good but can be confusing if you don't ask questions. Open to dialoge. Slow test returns though, midterm scores delayed because he was playing online poker (his "other job").
I don't think he likes being a teacher. Every class he says his lectures could have been better, or he is tired. He hates grading so the turn around time is slow. Doesn't really answer questions. Lots of group time. Doesn't do examples that will help with the homework that you don't turn in. 3 tests-thats it.
Jeff is a great guy- I would've liked to share a pitcher with him after class. While I'm sure he spends a lot of time preparing/grading, he doesn't inspire or go the extra mile for his students. It seems hard for him to bring himself down to a student's level of math comprehension. Good, but could be so much better.
i took his class at mt hood and was very dissapointed. he was very unwilling to help with problems and made you feel dumb if you asked for help. Because the teaching system is different at pcc he was unsure of how the courses mhcc worked. This backfired in his teachings and was overall not a good math teacher to have.
Jeff, was a good teacher if you attended the whole class. he does relax after a class or two. ask the right questions and he will be more than happy to help you.
Jeff is awesome. He was very helpful to all of my needs and helps in anyway he can. He also makes class fun and does lots of examples on the board. I love all the group work time he gives. Overall he is an awesome teacher and a great guy.
Great teacher! Two parts to every class; lecture with examples on the board and then group work. Copy all notes from the board and you will do great. Not an easy grader, particular on the format but for good reason. Left this class understanding EVERYTHING. Can't say enough how much I enjoyed his class. I would take him again in a heartbeat :)
I didn't learn with his teaching style
If you put the effort into this class you will pass. His tests are not easy and he is somewhat picky on structure. HW is somewhat optional and you never turn it in...he will VERY occasionally check it, but for 111 you better do the HW if you expect to pass the midterms and final. He will let you use one 3"x5" note card on the midterms and final.
Does not grade homework so you don't catch what you are not understanding. Tests include problems not seen before even though attended all classes. Hard grader particularly on format. Only grades midterm and final. Does not grade tests in a timely manner and when they are the only things graded you need that feedback which you don't receive.
Jeff is a great guy, and knows his math. He is one of the easier calc teachers at pcc when he is teaching it. He does grade pretty hard on format and showing your work, but should be expected in calc. I would take him again, only downside is he doesn't post his notes online.
okay he is not a good teacher!!!! no way!!! i get math...i did all my work... did all homework assignments..tried my best and thought i understood everything..but then at tests he changes everything!! i think he gets the kicks seeing students fail!!! do not take if u want to pass or understand to move on to next class!!! SUPER HARD!!!!!!
I might of had a little bit of a crush for some reason. I LOVED jeff's class. he is really nice and funny. awesome teacher!!
Jeff was a great teacher! Other the other post are complete slackers if the thought he was a bad teacher. He explained everything very well. If you copy all the examples and notes on the board you will understand. Group worksheets right after the lecture are all about what you just learned so you have notes to figure out each problem.AwesomeTeacher
Jeff is a wonderful teacher who loves his job and will do whatever he can to help you understand the material. If you show up to class and make an effort to understand the material and do the work, he will do what he can to help you pass the class. If you don't show up to class he will not waist his time on you. I really enjoyed his class.
Im not a math person and found math 65 to be hard, but with Jeff i had no problem understanding this stuff. he is VERY helpful, is calm and patient with his students, and is quite funny. However he doesn't really check homework, and it takes him longer then usual to grade tests.
This man is the shiznit! He will really listen to any concerns you have and work through them, just show him you are trying! I pulled C's for the first 2 exams and ended with an A because I worked through it and he was a part of it. Great guy.
Jeff Lacks is really an awesome guy. I'll admit I had my problems with him at first, but it ultimately came down to learning his system of teaching and grading. Once I really focused, I found his class to be both challenging and fun. He is honestly the first teacher at this college who has taught me anything and seemed to care about my progress.
Jeff is an all around good guy. He's witty, helpful and cares about his students.
Such an awesome guy. Not only is he hilarious, he also has the amazing ability to simplify even the murkiest of algebraic equations. I love his class. And let me tell you I HATE MATH.
This professor is sarcastic and talks down to students if they ask questions during class. He also won't take extra time to talk to anyone after the class is over, (unless it is the day before the final exam). He isn't happy to be in class, he makes a joke of it every day. If math is not your strong suit, do not take this w/him if there's options.
terrible. i hate this class.
Great teacher. He makes up the lectures just a few hours before hand. Lots of jokes and really willing to help. First half is lecture and the second half is group project work.
He is a great teacher! I think some people misinterpret his sarcasm. He is funny & helpful. I would take another math class from him!
This is the best math class I have ever taken! Jeff took the time to explain everything. First part of the class was lecture second part was group work. HE IS VERY strict on format. Have to work extra hard to get A's. Gives out B's like its going out of style. As long as you show up to class do home work and show that you understand you'll pass.
Jeff is a great guy. He knows the material and has several ways to explain it. I'd take another math class from him.
Jeff is a great teacher! He IS sarcastic, but he made the class more enjoyable in that way. He explains everything thoroughly. Whenever i was confused about something he helped explain it to me in a way that made sense. I would definitely recommend Jeff.
Jeff is great, although a little flaky at times. He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material and answers all questions. He is definitely the type of instructor who wants to prepare his students for success.
Jeff is a likable guy, and is friendly. However, my qualms with him are only when his sarcasm would detract from the material. I would find myself hesitant to ask him questions because of his sometimes rude reaction. That is not a quality of a good teacher imo. Also, talking louder does not invoke understanding. These are just minor issues though.
He's a little sad man but an awesome teacher.Didn't like his teaching at first but he has tried his best and has improved greatly. Always there to help anyone who's willing to learn. He likes to make students think logically, rather than giving the lectures and answers. Again, awesome teacher.
I enjoyed Jeff's class! He breaks up his class into lecture, groupwork, lecture, groupwork so you don't have to sit through a lecture all class. That made time go by super fast. He's fun to joke around with and is easy to talk to. He's always willing to help, as well. Show effort and willingness to learn and you'll easily pull off a B!
Jeff is really straight forward in his teaching style and you know exactly what is expected of you. He prepares you for mth111 better than any prof. and thats his main concern. Because of Jeff I absolutely rocked 111. All you have to do is show you are trying and he will do everything in his power to make sure that you are ready to move on.
Great likable teacher who is great with helping you out and help you get a passing grade if you show effort and that you deserve the grade you got. Thanks for a great term. BTW, he isnt an old sad man like someone said 4 comment before mine. He is a joking kind of guy. He always comes prepared to class with fresh new jokes. It helps class go easier
Jeff is such a great math teacher. I have taken MTH95 enough times to recognize the best teacher when I listen to them. Jeff is the best. Easy going, helpful and encouraging. He mixes up the work and he will let you know exactly what he expects you to know. Just show up to class, and you won't have much trouble with math.
Jeff is an awesome instructor. His lectures are concise and clear; afterwards there is a period of work time during which he is available to help. Friendly with a good sense of humor. Passionate about his subject. Class is fast-paced but if you pay attention, he will make sure you do well.
Love this teacher! He is very sweet, clear on his teachings and will answer any questions. He looks like he needs a hug though...
He got assigned Math 60 or Algebra 1st section, at the last minute. He usually teaches MTH95. He wasn't well prepared for MTH60 but managed. He was helpful but took a while to grade tests. I was told that due to the other 4 classes he was teaching. Pleasant and funny.
Nice person, but I didn't like his teaching style. Short lecture with a few examples, then gives you groupwork to figure it out on your own. If you have a question, he will answer it, but I never fully understood the material from the lecture. Class was enjoyable with lots of sarcasm and jokes.
Biggest sweetheart ever. I was convinced every teacher at PCC was careless and bitter and he's the opposite of both. He's so helpful and brings such a positive, funny attitude to class. He actually gets to know us and treats us with the upmost respect. He adjusts his lectures to the pace that we're ACTUALLY at, not what he expects us to be at.
Was more interested in flirting with the young ladies and cracking jokes than actually teaching. I found him offensive at times and he would laugh his behavior off. Would write 1 or 2 definitions on board with an example and set us off in groups for remainder of class. Excuses for his lack of enthusiasm were that we were the his last class.
He is the least helpful teacher ever. He only knows one way to explain something and if you don't understand, he basically says too bad. Focuses mainly on group work and less on lectures.
Jeff's an engaging lecturer and obviously knows his stuff. If you're having a tough time, he'll explain things to you, but you do end up feeling kind of stupid for asking questions. He's got a great sense of humor.
A teacher that cares about the students. Available to help and answer questions, but has a sharp, funny wit. Rare teacher who is easy to get along with and teaches well. I highly recommend this teacher. He's willing to make math fun. The book was useless, the only reason I got an A was this teacher's method of teaching. Vader approved.
Jeff is awesome. Take this class
I had a lot of fun in this class. Jeff is easy to get along with and he's always eager to help. The material is pretty easy but you'll get a disappointing grade if you get complacent and don't take good notes. Pay attention to the specific formatting required on the exams and an A is definitely attainable. I highly recommend this guy!
Great teacher! Math has never been explained better, really interactive and helpful. He really wants his students to succeed. The content isn't easy, but he's a fairly easy grader. Take his class!
Jeff has to be hands down the best math instructor I've encountered at PCC. He made class entertaining and thoroughly explained lessons. A real care/concern for students who put forth the effort. Even when I struggled at times Jeff never made me feel like I was a lost cause. If youre not afraid of a little hard work you want Jeff to teach you math
Jeff puts in as much effort to your learning as you do. Great teacher for students who are willing to put in the work. Very funny, makes class entertaining while you learn.
Great professor, wish i had him for my next math class!
He was one of the best math teachers that I ever had. He was smart, funny and knew his stuff. I have never gotten higher than a C in a math class but I got a B+ in his. He is very clear about what he is explaining and will answer any questions that you might have about the material. He also left plenty of time for group work and questions.
Great teacher, takes a high interest in helping his students succeed. I would absolutely recommend him.
He gives you time to work on the school work in class so that when you hit a snag and don't understand something he can explain it. He also can explain each problem in a dozen different ways if the first way didn't make sense to you. He really cares about his students and makes sure they leave understanding the material.
Jeff was HANDS DOWN the best math professor I've ever had! Math is one of my worse subjects and Jeff has an incredible teaching style and is very clear in his lectures. He really shows an interest in his students success and as long as you show up, pay attention, and do your homework, YOU WILL SUCCEED. Absolutely recommend him to anyone! :)
Mr. Lacks is a great teacher with an awesome teaching style His Lectures are easy to follow and the course hw is directly related to the lectures. GREAT CLASS
It's teachers like Jeff that give me hope for humanity because it's teachers like Jeff that truly know how to educate a classroom full of students. His lectures were always so very clear, he cares about his students. Getting to know every student's strengths and weaknesses, for each individual's improvement.
Jeff is the most helpful teacher I have ever met. His class starts with a lecture and after break we had groupwork and a kick start on homework. Ill admit the class is not easy, but jeff made a pleasure to be in. During lecture he pauses between steps and asks for questions. Very humble guy and easy to work with. TAKE HIM! you wont regret it.
I don't recommend this professor. I asked several times about my grade and he was not helpful.
Thought the class had some benefits but I do not like sitting in groups with hardly any lecture ahead of time. So the groups sit there not knowing what they are doing half the time. The instructor runs around with his head cut off trying to help each group which doesn't work well. We don't go over homework at all. Not good.
Jeff explains math in a way that everyone can understand it clearly, and if for some reason you don't understand he goes out of his way to help you. He cares about his students, and offers plenty of opportunities to help you succeed in his class. You do need to do your homework to learn the material, but if you show up and try you'll do fine.
Jeff has a sarcastic sense of humor, so if you're offended by that, he's not the right instructor for you. Other than that, he's very invested in the success of his students. If you're serious about putting in the work, he'll go out of his way to make sure you do well. His explanations are clear, and he'll explain it until you understand.
I love Jeff, he honestly saved my semester. He truly cares about his students succeeding and is so helpful and makes himself available to everyone. I hate math with a passion, but having Jeff makes it hurt way less. Gets extra cool points for being funny, if you are able to grasp dry wit and sarcasm lol.
Best math teacher I have ever had. Had him for 58 and 98 and now he is my tutor for 243. I could not do this without him.
Jeff is the reason I have learned Math. He goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. Given that you take advantage of using him as one of your tools for success. I suggest reading the chapters beforehand and going to class prepared with a few questions. Participate and put in 100% and you will understand math and pass.
I love Jeff, and I wish he could teach all my math classes. He can help others understand better by wording questions/problems differentlyrics by taking on a different point of view. He tends to progressivelyrics get louder as class goes on. He connects with everyone on a personal level and gives 10 minute breaks. This class is a good challenge.
The class text book is ridiculous, the whole curriculum is ridiculous, ineffective group projects and teaching
Jeff is such a great instructor! I would definitely take his class again. He is a little funny & tries to check in on everyone. Jeff is also very understanding. He can change the POV so it's more comprehensible. He is strict on how he wants some math equations solved. The class importance is to focus on understanding and not what the grade will be.
Great instructor
Jeff is really cool! He is funny and obviously cares about his students' success. He does a really great, clear job of explaining ways to solve problems, and will keep explaining and helping his students until they understand. He gives you chances to redo your assignments for a better grade, which has been a life saver!
I love Jeff and miss him this term. He is an amazing teacher. He loves his job and his students. I have terrible math anxiety, at times it will even make me vomit, but Jeff's understanding and willing to work with me was incredible. He would actively encourage me and be genuinely proud of me through out every class. I highly recommend this teacher
jeff is the best math teacher I have ever had. I have a learning dissability when it comes to math and he helped me every step of the way. if you want a good teacher go with Jeff.
Best math teacher I have ever had for so many reasons. Math is tough for me, it takes me a long time to understand math concepts. Jeff would explain something to me in as many different ways as he could, until it made sense to me. He is also hilarious and makes sure his lectures aren't boring, and I really enjoyed going to his class. Awesome guy!
Jeff is the best math teacher I've ever had. He's empathetic and very passionate. Calc 1 was a blast with him and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Listed below are some memorable quotes from him. "The equals sign is very sacred." "I have some sort of prime number fetish." "No! Puzzles are stupid! This is the universe! This is real!"
Pros: Jeff is a very nice guy and it's clear that he cares about his students and LOVES his job. He held review sessions for tests was willing to help. Cons: He has not taught calc for many years, so his lesson plans were often scattered and he'd make mistakes during lecture. HIGHLY recommend him for lower levels. Just not the best for calc : )
Jeff is a great and nice guy. He truly LOVES his job and cares for his students. I will say - he often blazes through his lectures which was an issue for me. I can see he would be an excellent teacher for a lower level of Math but not the best for Calculus. If you're someone who does well in Math you'll do fine with him.
Engaging and energetic. Perfect style for evening classes especially
Jeff is one of my favorite professors ever and my favorite math professor period. If you let him help and get to know you he will really help you and care for you. If you have the opportunity to take a math class with Jeff, you should definitely take it.
jeff is the best professor, cares and loves his students and makes class feel like home. he is helpful and compassionate and nice
I took his class this past winter, but Jeff is such a amazing teacher so I wanted to come back and leave my comments for others. You cant skip class, a lot of information is covered. His lectures are short, but he walks around offering support and help with the material the rest of the time. If you struggle, Jeff will help. He really cares.
Jeff is a amazing math teacher. He cares about his students and wants everyone to be successful. He will (patiently) explain concepts until you get it. I took his 105 class and recommend his class to everyone. A couple things to know, the 105 class is all group work and little to no lecture. Be prepared to work hard, but Jeff is a fair grader.
Jeff is awesome! Incredibly personable and understands the work school balance. Doing all the homework is definitely how you get an A in this class. Attendance is a good idea but missing a class once isn't the end of the world. Easily accessible by email, and taught great life skills. Made math class fun!
Jeff was a really great, encouraging professor who wants his students to succeed. He definitely provides a semi-challenging and thought provoking course load, but he dedicates a lot of time to helping us understand and relating what we're learning to our lives. Definitely recommend, especially if you don't consider math to be your strongest suit.
I took Jeff Lack's Math 105 class and enjoyed it very much. His teaching style is different than most for this class. Before every class you go class preps to learn the material then in class you do worksheets. He gives great feedback! I would take one of his classes again.
He makes sure to connect with each student individually and will help explain things in different ways if you don't understand it the first time. He also is always full of energy and puts his all into the lectures.
I loved this class!!! Taught so much good stuff! Like how to do taxes and loans and stuff. Jeff was great, cares a lot and he did a flipped classroom approach which I really liked, definitely recommend!
He is a great teacher and really likes to help the students. I liked his class mainly because it felt very personal and fun.
I'm currently in Jeff's MTH111 class, and I felt I had to write a review about him. So far, the class has been an amazing experience. The workload is low (could be because of remote class), the lectures are descriptive, and Jeff is great at answering any questions. You can really tell that Jeff cares about his students.
Jeff is a great professor and I would take his class again! The homework was purposeful and it was never overwhelming. If anyone in class did not understand something Jeff would happily review it again through different examples. I got sick & missed some class and Jeff went above and beyond to ensure that I understood the materials and resources!
Jeff Lacks is the BEST teacher I've ever had! He really takes his time to explain everything! Would highly recommend!!!
I hadn't been to school in almost a decade, so I thought readjusting to math was going to prove difficult. But Jeff was by far the most attentive and understanding math teacher I have ever had. A part of me wishes I failed the class just so I could have the pleasure of taking him again. He listens to you and really goes the extra mile. The G.O.A.T.
I liked taking his college algebra class but I felt like the lectures didnt help me learn. I used the materials we had to teach myself which was easy and useful. Homework wasnt too heavy and there was no tests. He is very caring and you dont really need to show up to zoom lecturers if you have all his notes written down (which he provides).
Jeff is a fantastic professor. I have always struggled with math, however, Jeff goes over the material at a pace that makes it easy for everyone to understand. He is constantly making time for any questions and is very respectful. Overall he is a down-to-earth caring guy and I would highly recommend taking any class with him!
Made Math seem like a breeze and my class flew on by because it was a pleasure to go to class. Everything was very straight forward and online because of the pandemic.
Prof. Lacks, or as he insists that you call him - Jeff, was one of the best professors I've had. I encourage you to take his class if you can. At the time I took his course I was working full-time and was at my wit's end due to stress. Despite that, Jeff did a lot to accomadate my constantly changing schedule. Again, Jeff is a great guy.
Great teacher, I had him for my math 111 class, and he did a really great job, especially online. All of the lextures were completely optional and always provided a recording afterwards. We had absolutely no test, no exams, and only had to do the base level of homework. Not only did I pass the class, I also felt prepared for future classes.
No quizzes/tests or exams which is great, unless you are looking for the discipline and will be going into a higher level math class. You do not have to pay for a textbook as he gives you free access to the code for a pearson class with the etext, and this is where you will complete some homework assignments. Light and easy workload. Great teacher!
Professor Lacks makes the concepts really easy to follow and understand. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He does not have any exams - at least not in the Math 111 class. It also is not mandatory to attend class. He records the lectures so you are able to watch them on your own time. Great class!
A truly awesome teacher who cares about his students. 10/10 would recommend to ANYBODY. woowoo
jeff is the best math teacher i have ever had!! i’m a weak math student, but jeff taught everything in a way that made sense. jeff made me excited to learn math every class period!
Such an amazing professor, I would definitely retake his class and am truly bummed he doesn't also teach Math112. If you sometimes struggle with math and need an understanding professor who will help you understand thoroughly, you need to take this course. Plus no quizzes which has been so helpful!
He genuinely cares about the success of his students however, if you are moving on to another math class I would not recommend. No exams, or quizzes, grade based on written HW (1-2 questions a wk), online HW (16-22 questions) and weekly notes. No feedback on HW, short/rushed/ lectures, not much explanation, just examples.
Professor Lacks was a very accommodating professor and a rather easy grader. No exams or quizzes whatsoever, the class is purely based on homework assignments and an easy A if you know what you're doing. He explains the material pretty well, but if you looking for a challenging math course that teaches in-depth this probably isn't for you.
Overall, he seemed like a caring professor, though his grading was all over the place. By the end of the term I only saw a few assignments graded. The whole term he talks about how much of an "easy A" taking math with him is... it's not true. He instills false hope in his students. I genuinely believed I was doing well. He's not a good professor.
Mr. Lacks gives no tests. Your grade is based on your homework and lecture notes. He explains the concepts in a way that's so easy to understand. I would recommend taking his class to absolutely anyone.
His syllabus is well organized. He his really willing to teach the class and would clarify your doubts even if you ask him for the 100th time. And there is no testing. Would 100% take his class again
I had Jeff online for my first semester at college. He's awesome. Take his class.
When I had him he was gone for the first month. Good teacher otherwise.
I took Jeff for MTH 111, he's a super chill funny guy. Would definitely recommend taking one of his classes!
He the goat
Jeff is great, and really takes the time to work 1:1 with everyone. There's class prep before each class,(short videos and notes) then the actual work is done in class w/ your group & he helps you every step of the way. You work with the same group all term & have 2 group tests, 1 midterm, 1 final + a group project on a social issue of your choice.
You aren't graded by much, just the completion of the math book, tests, and your one group project. don't think that means it's easy! just keep up with the pace of the class and at home videos and you'll be ok. its group work in class, and individual study at home, so not for everyone. i loved it though! and if you need accommodations just ask.
Professor Lacks is great. He's incredibly nice, cares for his students, and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. I'm not a huge fan of the 'flipped' classes, so I did feel like I had to teach myself some of the material at times, but Professor Lacks will help you with anything you need if you just ask. Overall just an awesome guy and professor!
My favorite teacher so far at pcc! Super excited about math and genuinely cares about his students. Assignments and clear and consistent. Wonderful teacher!
I've never felt compelled to write a review on any professor before but Jeff was sincerely the best professors at PCC I've had. Caring, appreciative, knowledgeable, and an incredible instructor. I hate math and he made it tolerable. Thank you Jeff!
Jeff Lacks is a very good professor in my opinion. He made sure that this class would be right for our goals on the first day of class, constantly gets excited about the learning we are doing, and tries to have us build relationships with the others in class through group work. He is caring and very flexible.
Professor Lacks is a great math teacher - super chill and makes even tough material digestible. No exams, just homework and weekly notes. unstuck study was a game-changer for study prep. Definitely take his class if you need an easy A!
Jeff was great. Very little late work accepted--I think maybe one week's worth could be a bit late. Consistent schedule--lecture + notes, worksheets, and online problems each week. Two midterms and a final exam that can be worked on for a week total before turning in. Stay on track, reach out to him if you're not understanding and you'll do good.
Responds quickly and wants his students to succeed.
I was lucky enough to have Jeff as an instructor in a required math sequence after 27 years outside of the classroom. He even met with me on some weekend days to provide me extra help. I am forever grateful to him as I am now getting my masters degree in higher education.
