i thought he graded hard and when i would try to ask him how to make my essay better he pretty much did not help. i got a b in engl 101 so it was weird going to a teacher that graded different. Not to mention, the philosophy topic was boring.

This guy has a horrible teaching style. He just puts notes on the board for you to copy, boring! The movies we watched were good and I learned quite a bit,but I would not take a class with him again.

Anyone would be crazy not to take a class with Dr. Netto! He's extremely helpful and absolutely fun. He'll make you want to go to class and he'll get you interested. His discussions are laid back and he makes the class feel comfortable and welcome. I LOVE THIS GUY! TAKE HIM!

This is a great eng teacher. Class consists of going over exatcly what was required for reading and he graded very fairly on the 3 essays that we had to right.

Dr. Netto has high expectations. Most of his students just can't handle it. He wants to challenge his classes to think the way they should be in college--and that ticks the idiots off. His instructions are always clear and he helps anybody who takes the time to do the work.

Dr. Netto really teaches at the college level. I appreciated the subjects we covered and the way he guided us through discussions. Yes, the work was hard and not for the faint of heart. If you aren't college material, don't take this class. If you want to succeed in classes up the line, then this is the teacher for you!

Dr.Netto is freakin awesome! To me he has a dry sense of humor that nobody catches onto. So I find myself laughing alone towards things he says. He also has this cute nervous energy around him. Like his gestures, and when he talks...there's just something about it that comes off nervous. But I find it so cute. I think he's pretty darn attractive for an older man. And his teaching is great. I enjoy his class very much. Even if its four hours...

i had netto for two classes, eng 101 and eng 161(film appreciation) and this guy is the man. i read another comment saying he has kind of a hidden humor, thats the truth, hes a real intellectual teacher. highly recommend for a class that you wanna learn well and have a little work to go with it.

Dr. Netto, as my friends and I call him Dr. Nutto, is like a mix between the Govinator, Kevin Spacey, and Robert Downey Jr. If you want a nice piece of eye candy definitely take him. The class's interesting, especially if you actually LIKE films. Just be warned he shows FILMS generally, not movies. Expect foreign, silent, and obscure movies.

Nettos class was super fun and I learned alot. He has a unique passion for black and white movies. So the class was pretty easy because all we talked about was old Hollywood Scandals. Not to mention that he is pretty fricken hot for a teacher. If you want to sit in a class for 3 hours he is definately the guy to take!

Mr Netto was by far the best teacher ive ever had. We had grammer practice every class which i know i thought was ridiculous at first but then realized how helpful it ended up being. We were required to write 4 papers which were pretty easy as long as you read the material before hand. The final was extremely easy as long as you did it you got an A

Netto was a great teacher. Took his History of Cinema class and enjoyed it alot. Sometimes the movies were a bit boring but he would always crack jokes and made the class fun. Remember to participate in the class and you will do great. The homework is supereasy, it's just one page double spaced essay a week. What more could you ask for? Take him!!!

4 essays, lots of reading, if you stay on top of your reading and start writing your essays early you will do fine in the class. very helpful when you ask for help. took it online and i would take his classes again. and all of the reading materials were fun reads that you can finish in about a day.

He has A LOT of reading but you will do great if you keep up on it. There is an advantage to in class vs online because he gives you more options to write about and more leeway in grading them. I liked him so much this was the second time I took his class. Recommend him for 101 also. just don't take him and his wife at the same time :)

I learned some really valuable things about rhetoric in this class. I wasn't a fan of his teaching style just because it seemed like he didn't hold us to a high enough standard. It was a really chill class. We only had to write 4 papers and 5 350-word journals. He isn't a bad teacher. I felt like English 101 was harder and that's kinda weird.

This class was so easy! Four papers that should be at least 1500 words and 5 journals that must be 300 words or so. A reading quiz is given most weeks. Attendance is not necessary because the class I was in was hybrid. However, the reading quizzes are 10% of your grade. Take him if you want an easy B or A!

I just finished taking his five week English 103 class. I'd have to say that I've never loved English class more. He taught it very well. Dr. Netto made it understandable and how unique rhetoric is through the examples of Julius Caesar and Hamlet.I 100% recommend taking it with him. The work in his class in like any other English class work. :D

Dr. Netto was awesome. I have to admit I was a little worried to take Advanced English and he made it fun. You only have 4 essays the whole semester AND he drops the lowest grade on one. You also write 5 300word journals (super easy) He doesnt take role, but there is a reading quiz at the begin of each class. Reading is easy too. LOVED this class.

I had his Eng-103 as a hybrid class. He leaves pretty clear instructions in his lecture notes and on the discussion board, but tends to go off on tangents when explaining in person. Funny guy, really great at putting things in layman's terms. Gave us a handful of short writing exercises and three 1500-word papers.

He's a fair professor. 3- 1500 word papers, 7-350 word journals, 1000 word final, 8 quizzes. I am not a great writer but i managed a C+/B-. With eng 103 he deals with rhetoric. pretty straight forward material when taking his hybrid class.

Mr. Netto is a great teacher. His assignments are fairly easy. There isn't a ton of reading. If you're a good writer he grades really easy. Some of the quizzes he gave were tough but they didn't affect the final grade very much. We watched some good movies and he tried to make the class entertaining. I'd definitely recommend him.

As a Chem major, I dreaded Eng103. Luckily, Dr. Netto is a great professor. He will challenge you, but you will become a better writer. I took Eng101 and felt like I didn't learn a damn thing. Netto helped bolster my writing skills and confidence. One of the few classes I left feeling smarter than I did when I went in. I was able to earn an A.

He doesn't assign too much work, and grades fairly. 4 essays, but he drops the lowest score. The final is also an in class essay. A few other writing exercises and reading quizzes..He has a sarcastic, dark sense of humor. If you enjoy English, logic, and sarcastic/ dark jokes this is definitely the class for you!

By far one of the best professor's I have ever had at MJC. He is amazing and life changing. He opens your eyes to so much. He's patient, kind and smart. I was always fascinated by everything he taught. He's also very funny and easy to talk to when you have an issue with homework or an essay. Very helpful.

He is excellent! Always clarifies when needed, not too many assignments (allows for wiggle room if needed, too), and practically hands you the answers before a test. Not many assignments or tests, so be sure to do the assignments. Tests are a breeze with a little studying from his notes (which he has available to print out). Took 101 and 161

Jeff is great! He is funny and is pretty easy on grading! He enjoys talking a lot because not many students speak up but he is funny and interesting to listen to. His essays are very straight forward and interesting to write. And be sure to read because you will have quizzes every week from the reading!

I passed no problem. I barely showed up to any classes. He gave us a list of all the films we were going to be watching at the beginning of the semester, so I just watched them at home and then showed up on the day journals were due. His tests are a little difficult, but he grades on a curve so do the work and you'll be fine.

Dr. Netto is super nice and lively in lecture. He picked great movies to watch so it really helped the time pass quickly. There are two multiple choice midterms. 1.5 page journals after each film. The questions on the Final are multiple choice as well and include questions from the past two midterms.

Professor Netto is an excellent instructor. He made the class interesting. He's very passionate about what he is teaching which is what makes the class more enjoyable. Great teacher. He is really funny and helpful. We watched a lot of documentaries and online videos. I took the Hybrid class. 3 In class essays (1000 or less words) final was online. Super easy class if you work hard. You should pass with a B or A. Class is out of 100 points and gives Extra credit. I definitely recommend him. TAKE HIM

Jeff is an awesome witty guy. The class is very enjoyable (at least I felt that way). Show up to him talking for about ten to twenty minutes about the chapter then you get about a ten minute break. After the break you return to a movie screening then go home. The class homework is to write two or more sentences in a discussion post about a clip...

Dr netto was a great teacher. Some of his jokes are cheesy. But he makes you laugh, especially when his wife is in the classroom. Do the reading and u will do well. No textbook just reading books. I enjoyed his class. Sometimes he is not clear but ask and he will help you out. Journals are super easy. Quote Aristotle and he'll love your essays. !

I took film appreciation with Netto. He gave weekly discussion assignments, but those were very easy. He is funny and really laid back. I enjoyed the class. Attendance was required as he would ask questions about the films on the tests. The only difficult thing about this class was that the tests were online and the time limit was pretty short.

I took his English hybrid class and I'm going to be honest, He has a dry sense of humor and says one thing which is a lie. I thought taking him would be easy but her grades pretty hard. He doesn't response to your emails in a timely manner which doesn't help if you needed an answer. He sometimes doesn't make sense in his lectures which is confusing

This class focuses on 1920's Hollywood history. You learn more about old celebrity gossip than grammer. If you turn your homework in or do the journals in class, you get full credit every time. He even admits he doesn't read the work. He's a hard grader on essays though and will give zeros to people who don't meet Eng 101 standard in their grammar

I enjoyed this class alot. This semester Dr. Netto focused on silent era stars and films. There were only 4 essays and easy short assignments. The class is out of 100 points but if you do everything you'll do just fine. He likes style, so make sure to spice your essays up with a bit of humor. He's also really funny. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Netto is easily one of the funniest professors I've had. His class isn't very difficult, just read the unit lecture notes and stay on top of the assignments. Read the novels he assigns, they're not long and usually they're interesting. Show up to class because you never know when he's going to hand out extra credit points!

Class is mostly about the origins of Hollywood film (Fatty Arbuckle, Mable Normand, Charlie Chaplin etc). Good teacher, sometimes rambles on about random stuff but he is a good guy.

Mr. Netto was a direct yet kind teacher. He was very clear of what he wanted and ensured you of his expectations without any confusion whatsoever. Very easy to take this class over the summer, so it should be even easier over semester. Would take him again.

Will say on thing and does the opposite without any warning. Not professional, jokes in class most of the time and is the only one laughing at them. Ignores students when asking for help. Doesn't reply to emails sent by students. Uses a lot of profanity in class. Doesn't make sense in his lectures. Shames students.

Lecture in the beginning, then you watch a film till the end of class. If you aren't big on film, you may get bored. Aspiring of current cinemaphiles will enjoy his class. This semester was film noir themed. The homework is a response to each film online. Overall, I really liked his class and enthusiasm for EVERY aspect of film

I had him for English 50 and he gives hw everyday so if you miss the next day when it's stamped you won't get credit for it. He doesn't except anything late but if you're always there it's not a hard class to pass. Your grade is mainly based off of the three test you take and your notebook.

All I got to say is that this professor is freaking hilarious! Movies are really long though and can be boring. But this class is an easy A if you just pay attention. He also gives a really nice extra credit opportunity in the end.

Dr. Netto is honestly the best! He really wants you to succeed and is willing to help you. There's homework everyday and they stamped the next day. I enjoyed my time in this class and learned so much. The two mid-term papers and final are really all that matter as part of your grade but do your work!

If you like 1950s black and white noir films that are about love and murder and have the same plot every time this class is for you. The class is out of 100 points so every point counts. Film appreciation sounds fun but unless you LOVE noir class will be boring. Teacher is cool but doesn't teach you just watch movies and the test are kinda hard.

Jeff Netto is an amazing professor! He walks you through just about every assignment and explains everything he wants in your essays thoroughly. He also offers extra credit. He has such a good attitude and a great sense of humor. Be sure to keep up with the reading if you want to pass the quizzes (which are short and simple).

I took Film Appreciation and it was going in once a week to watch an old movie. The only homework was a 100 reflection on the movie each week. If you know basic facts on film making, camera angles you don't need the textbook, if you don't know those you could still scrape by. For us, one quiz and the final was online, one other was in class.

Film Appreciation is an "Easy A" class. He has a genre for each semester, with this semester being Science Fiection focusing on humanity. He is extremely funny and the films he chose were usually entertaining. He has a textbook, but I've never used it. Grade based on discussions on each film, 2 midterms, and the final exam. Very easy going class and teacher! Highly recommend: not missing any of the discussions online, turn in work on time(easy points), read lecture notes online if you don't have a book. There is discussions, two midterms, and the final are all online that are open book/lecture notes. Class makes you critically think and learn about concepts of film.

Took English 103 online class over the summer. He is very straightforward with what he wants in the class. Understanding some of the material was a little difficult but he told us we could use SparkNotes. We only had 3 essays and like 4 journal Assignments. I didn't feel crammed at all. Good Professor, I would recommend.

Professor Netto is amazing! Film appreciation was fun and interesting and laid back! You watch a movie and then later go online and do a discussion post, and then there are a couple of tests. Really smart, really funny (in a cheesy way sometimes, but funny nonetheless)! I wish I had known that he does ENGL103 because I would have taken him!

I thought it was an okay class. He did science fiction this semester but a lot of the movies shown are older and boring. He puts all the lectures and homework online and you could honestly rent the movies and watch them in the comfort of your home. I would reccomend going to class for the lecture because he does give some extra info in class.

Dr. Netto is probably one of the best professors Ive had so far. The only problem I had with this course was that he has 5pm deadlines and found it hard to meet them sometimes because of work. Does reading checks so if you do the reading u will pass.

I took Professor Netto last fall. He was incredibly caring and loves to teach about film. I couldn't see any other teacher teaching this course! Most assignments are due online so honestly as long as you watch the movies and read the passages in the book, you'll pass.

Prof Netto is the kind that will belittle his students. He always had something negative to say about his students. He was always calling everyone dumb. He was extremely sexist and made remarks about women that made it hard for me to respect him. Had to drop and take a W. I would stay clear if you like to be respected and taken seriously.

Mr Netto is a great professor and i took him for his Flim class a few semesters back and he is really nice guy once you get to know him. if you have a question he will get back to you the next day or 2 and gives really good feedback on assignments and will work with you to help you pass and succeed in his class. 10/10

Great Professor! He is extremely consistent with his units. We used an online textbook as well as an online Inquizative MLA/grammar program. We did an average of two assignments as well as two peer responses each week. We also wrote 3, 1000 word essays as well as improving an essay we had written. This was a great idea. I liked the ability to go back and improve a paper using feedback.

Easy Class. You have a discussion due each week. A total of four papers. Homework is due Monday, Wed and Friday in his class. You have quizzes but get multiple attempts. Homework is easy takes less than an hour. Readings are all only like 7 pages or less. textbook is like $30. Hes responsive and understanding to emails. Highly recommend him

Enjoyed my time in that class. 3 essays + 1 revision for the final, you also get one makeup essay should you miss a due date. Offers extra credit. Assignments due each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Reading assignments are pretty short, 7-10 pages + 5-7 comprehension questions, and he offers summaries of the reading. InQuizitive sucks though.

This class is framed almost exactly like ENGL101 with Jenny Netto. Professor Jeff Netto offers plenty of extra credit. I enjoyed the various short readings that eventually became topics for our essays. I found his feedback helpful. I would recommend like class to everyone.

Awesome class! I took this class over summer and all I can say is that it was the best English class I have taken so far. We had weekly readings that were on subjects preparing you for the paper you need to write at the end of the unit. Enjoyable subjects although can be hard to understand. By far the best English Professor I have taken. Netto is full of energy and fun and makes learning not seem like a chore. Go to class every day and write a few papers. Nettos class was very cool each week you get a film analyzing video and question. 1 assignment a week which is a discussion. Its a history film class so be ready to watch some cool films. Super easy class! Just show up, watch the movie, fill out the worksheet (that he basically gives the answers too), and do the homework that you could only possibly fail by not doing it. There are EC opps. if you miss class, and the final is optional. You can have some great discussions, but it's also nice to sit and listens to others if you're shy.

Relatively easy class and fun professor from what I have seen taking his course online. My only gripe was the movies we watched were ALL from Alfred Hitchcock, so they were pretty old. Great teacher! He is passionate in film and English. Our class read a sci-fi anthology for this class. It's pretty easy, 3 Essays thats the majority of your grade. Learning MLA citing and how different modes of writing work. Class is an easy A in my opinion, as long as you are showing up and turning in your work you will do fine.
