This is a good professor. He is willing to help if you put in the effort to ask for it. He definitely wants to see people succceed in his class

Mr. Parent is an extremist, he is one of the best at explaining the material, yet he gives the hardest tests I've ever taken. I am an engineer major and do well in all math classes, I got a B (my lowest math grade ever) in Calc 2.

GREAT TEACHER! If you have never really taken a liking to math or have not been very good at it, he will turn all of that around for you. He is very helpful and clear with the way he teaches the material and the methods he uses in his lecture.

Great teacher. Easy to speak with. Very willing to help. He demands alot, but gives you everything you need to do well if you put in the work. He is also very understanding. Take this class, you'l be happy you did.

Jeff Parent ROCKS! He's such a great teacher, I've HATED math aslll my life, but he makes it tolerable. He's got a great sense of humor!

He is the best, eventhough his exams are hard. he is always willing to help and answer questions. He explaines very clearly. He is funny and the comics he brings to class are funny. love Take him again!

I have taken 3 classes with him..and will take more. He is AWESOME and LOVES math, which helps A LOT! I took Calc in short semester and still got an A!!

TAKE JEFF PARENTS FOR MATH AT ALL COSTS. He is an amazing math teacher and helped me to understand math even though I hate math. He is the man.

Good professor. He is very kind and curtious to his students and tries to help them to excel. Allows you to view last years exams to give you a good idea of what will be on the current exam. The tests aren't that bad but you should still plan on studying to do well. Welcomes questions too!

Best Math Instructor among his colleaques. He loves Math and he teaches it with passion. Take his classes, never will regret it. Do his homeworks and you shall be doing good in the class.

I have taken 4 Math classes with him start from Math 1540 up to 1730. He is a very good instructor. He helps to deliever math material in book in easy fashion way. Listen to his jokes and comics, they are cool. He loves sport,e specially hockey. Say always Go Blue since he is in love with that quote

Great pro. He really enjoys what he teaches and makes class fun. He offers many oppurtunities for extra credit and studying. Take advantage of his previous tests and online hints. He helped me get into a University by writing a letter to admit.. If you work hard for him he will work hard for you.

He is a great professor! He will use everything he has to make u understand. Be ready to use every minute of class though. And he is SOOO CUTE! he looks like an athletic Danny Tanner w/ a nice butt!

Don't take him for the 8 wk course, he doesn't know how to condense the material. He didn't seem to be able to teach it very effectively. Might be ok for a 15 week class.

Professor Parent teaches math very clearly. I took a class with him in a short semester, and I had no difficulties. He is willing to take student's questions, and he answers them clearly. He lets you review old tests. He teaches the material well, and he makes class fun. Definatley take Professor Parent for math!

Very fast talker, likes to boast and brag alot. Testing was very subjective. Class average was 63%. Highest test grade was a 74%. Switch Professors for stats if you can.

Whoever thinks this is just a job to him is mistaken. Besides being the clearest, most enjoyable math prof Ive ever seen, hes gone far out of his way to help even former students, getting personally involved to fix problems with other profs. I didnt even know I liked math until I took one of his classes; now I love the subject. Appreciate this one.

Very good teacher, one of the best I've had in OCC. I actually learned so much in his class, great teaching methods and fair grading. Makes jokes and is always positively minded. Highly reccomended!

TAKE JEFF PARENT - He is great at explaining Calc. I'm not very fluent in math, but he is great. Plus he's into cool things like hockey, brewing his own beer, and giving extra credit.

I absolutely hated math before I took him. I just took it because I had to. After transferring to Michigan State, I realize how good of a foundation he provided. Plus he jokes around and offers little bits of extra credit with Michigan Scores. He actually enjoys what he is teaching and makes it interesting.

I never knew that i was good in math until i took Mr. Parents Class. He makes math enjoyable and gives homework, but does not assign the homework. It is up to you to learn it and understand the subject well. It requires alot of studying but is well worth it. He is an awesomeeee teacher and makes the subject very clear and fun!

Jeff Parent was an awesome teacher. His ability to handle very dumb questions without insulting the student is uncanny. Also his fluency in other languages was impressive. If you take this class, DO NOT slack off on the homework and studying. You will do very well if you study and keep up on the HW.

Great Teacher...very fair and gives you lots of chances to do well in the class. Even gives test hints to study from and keeps old tests on reserve in the library. If you're bad at math, take Mr. Parent! He's the best.

He is a GREAT math teacher. I've had him for a couple classes and will continue to take him for any class I need that he teaches. His main concern is for the understanding of the material by his students; he's very patient and willing to explain things further and answer questions. Plus, he is pretty hot, so that makes class more fun! :)

Mr Parent was absoultey amazing. I dropped out of Elementary Algebra by a previous teacher, and then went to this site to find someone who might be better. I ended up with an A in his class. If you keep up on the homework you will do well in his class.

A truly excellent prof. Makes learning easy, even for those of us who haven't had a math class for 20+ yrs. You have to pay attention and do the work. Grades are tough but fair. Despite what the losers here say, if you work hard, you succeed. I will EARN an A in the class. They want it handed to them on a platter. It's not gonna happen.

Professor Parent was a great professor for our class. I learned very much from him, and he was good at explaining things people did not understand. I would take more classes with him.

Jeff Parent is very fair. He provides all the help a student could possibly need, including allowing the student to use his old tests on file in the library, and 'hints' for the upcoming tests online, and extra credit. If you want an A you can have one, but you can't be lazy and you have to use all the resources he provides to earn your grade.

Really good teacher, heard horror stories about calc 2 before class, but gave hints for all tests and very clear!! GREAT TEACHER TO TAKE!!!

I won't lie... For a person who doesn't really like math, this was a hard class. Yes, we went through the sections fast; Yes, it was frustrating at time, but Jeff and our classes SI Instructor Christine, made it easier to understand. Always say "Go Blue" in his class; you may get extra credit. Also, bring in baked goods too.

I am not good in math at all, but Jeff made the class very interesting and understandable. You only need the book for homework assignments. He gives you test hints and u can use old test to study from. Take this teacher you will not be disappointed.

Prof. Parent is awesome! He is very helpful, and goes that extra mile to make sure you know what you are doing! Gives you the option of dropping one of your exam grades, and gives plenty of extra credit. If you need to take a math class, make sure to take him!

Next to one other teacher at OCC Jeff finds the weak spots in your learning and then helps you overcome them. Fantastic

Math has been a very tough subject my entire life. He is an excellent teacher and will take the time to explain! Great sense of humor and very likeable. I would recommend his classes without hesitation.

Mr. Parent was amazing! His classes were fast, but great. Always had fun facts (that turned out to be bonus questions on exams). Some teachers tell math - but he really teaches it! He is great! Like any class, do the homework and don't wait till the final to ask questions.

I am not the best when it comes to math. I only take the classes because I have to. He is really helpful and attentive to your needs. He will take his time and go over it if you need additional help. U need your book. If you do your homework and pay attention you will do fine. Best math teacher I ever had.

I had this prof. for Calc I and he was crystal clear, and a very helpful prof. I recommend that you take this guy because he really teaches very good. AND DO THE HW.

OMG these people must have had a different instructor. JEFF PARENT IS AMAZINGLY AMAZING. DONOT believe anything to the contrary. He is hands down the BEST math teacher at OCC. He is funny, approachable, extremely nice, cool and pragmatic. CRYSTAL CLEAR when it comes to explaining things. So glad I took him over Nasari or anyone for that matter.

WOW, he actually thanks you for asking a question every single time. He made math FUN! Always told us these cool facts and other relevant things about math and mathematicians. He is really funny and never in a bad mood. 6 exams = 70% & Cumulative final = 30% of Grade. H.W and attendance does not count. Old exams up on B.B for review.

He is an acceptional teacher, it is true that sometimes he isn't very clear when presenting the material, but if you do the homework he assigns, a good grade is possible. I received a B without studying very much, but I believe if I had tried hard enough, I could've gotten an A. This was my very first Calc class ever, if I can do it, anyone can.

Really nice guy & very good prof. He knows what he is talking about & wants you to succeed. Likes to know you're trying. He assigns a bit of hw but does not collect it. I did all the homework and attended all the classes & received an A. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you were to miss a class you would miss lots of information. Super cool guy

great teacher. explains everything very well and is always willing to help. he really does want you to succeed and he explains things clearly more than once, and the class and material dont move to fast or too slow, so its easy to keep on track especially when you are trying to take 3 other classes as well. i would reccommend him

Great motivating teacher. Knows his math and keeps class interesting with breaks, stores, jokes math games. 8 hours a week of precalc is not easy, but it went fast and well.

Fast-paced class...maybe it's just because math isn't my strong suit. :( But! He does supply tons of additional material (old tests, mp3 of lectures, posting notes online) and has a great sense of humor! I just wish he'd slow down a bit...even when asking for help he's fast paced, lol!

Mr.Parent is the best math teacher I've ever had. He makes the hardest math easy to understand, he explaines well and provides many examples in class. I like it when he goes around the class and askes people for help with the prob. this helps us pay attention. he's very funny and gives the studens a chance to tell jokes. i'd recomend him for anyone

This is probably one of the nicest professors you will have. However, his teaching style clashed with my previous algebra professors, I was unable to complete the course and withdrew. He seemed surprised when I told him I never failed a math test before. If you did not take a previous class with him you will have a hard time. No credit for homework

Only math teacher I have ever been able to learn from. Puts class notes on BB, gives you copies of previous exams for practice. Chances to earn extra credit. Is in tune to whether you are struggling or not. Do the homework and put forth the effort and you'll pass easily. I will only take MAT with Jeff Parent.

I've taken Prof Parent for 3 semesters at OCC. Though my frustrations with math are my own, Parent is really good about making sure the material is understood. If you like to talk to friends or text during class, be advised - he has a hawk's eye for texters and superhuman hearing for that kind of stuff.

This was one of the best teachers I ever had. You won't be sorry if you take this teacher. His test are really easy and if you do the homework, he takes problems from the homework and puts them on the test. Also, he is not boring and will keep you entertained.

I had a different teacher for 1100 and I did not do well with him. Mr Parent was the best Math teacher ever! I have done poorly in the past in Algebra and with him it seemed as though a light switch was turned on. I would never take another teacher other than him! Do the homework and use the past tests on blackboard to study for tests, It helps.

This teacher definitely knows his stuff and is very passionate about the subject he teaches. I would say his class might be kind of hard to keep up with unless you have an already good understanding of which ever math class you're going into. This is an excellent class for that student who always know all the answers.

He's one of my best Professors although the material was very tough, u gotta attend all the lectures & study hard,do the HW for the test,He uses technology and gives extra credits 4 it.He will help u if u do ur best,He joke w/u using ur own language

I had him for calc. II and dropped due to my own issues. He's a great instructor but REALLY fast. Must know your previous math really well to do good in this class. Don't ever study for a test without looking at the practice exams. Attend class and always do the homework.

Math is a very hard subject for me, but Mr Parent knows his stuff, he teaches at the right pace and he is very very helpful towards others. he is a very nice guy who loves making class fun. Great professor. While it sometimes feels he breezes through the material too fast, he is always willing to help you, he posts the notes online and old exams that really help, and gives lots of extra credit opportunity.

I didn't have a good background in trig so it was a little difficult,personally. But he is a enthusiastic teacher, posts all his old exams on blackboard (4), and goes over any questions prior to class. Although I think he was a tough grader, I think he was very generous in the final grade! One of the best math profs I've ever had!

He is a great teacher!! He explains everything really well in the notes and then posts them on the blackboard online so if you missed something you can go back and look at it. HE gives homework almost every night but doesn't grade or collect it. His tests are pretty straight forward if you know what your doing you'll do fine.

Although it has been a while since I attended his class, He still remembers me. He is a great teacher. If you are having troubles understanding something he will do try to explain it differently until you understand the material. If you want a great teacher...HE'S THE ONE TO HAVE!!!!!

This is by far one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He keeps class interesting and lightens the environment. He gives a ton of examples during each class which helps a lot. And he gives us copies of all notes and previous semesters tests online which are amazing study tools since his tests are based off that. TAKE HIS CLASS

Jeff is a great teacher! As long as you're willing to to do the work and pay attention in class, you will pass this class no problem. Math has always been a hard subject for me until I took his class. The one thing I will say is that he will challenge you. His exams can be rather difficult but most questions come from homework so do it!

He rushes through the material, grade is based on test only, no extra credit, no curves, I would not suggest taking his class unless you are already good at math.

He won't hold your hand if you're not trying to keep up, so use math lab or office hours. If you try to understand the material he does an excellent job of guiding you through the course, lots of in-class activity. Class notes and old quizzes posted online are huge help. One of my favorite instructors ever, I'd definitely retake him.

First time that a math teacher makes me like the mathematics in my life. No doubt he is one of the best of OCC. I had awful experience in my past, but not w him. Really helpful and fair with the grading. Math is not for me, however he made it fun and easy. Trust me, after having Parent you'll only take math w him. Take him!

Best math teach I've ever had! He went out of his way to ensure students had an understanding of the material. Posted videos and old exams to help.. open to questions but you have to do the work yourself. Made taking a difficult course less agonizing I would follow him for the rest of my math courses if I could. Highly recommended!!!!

His tests are definitely more challenging than other profs but always provides excellent practice exams. Study those and you'll have no problem. The final is what you should really be worried about. I've taken a few of his classes before so I knew going in that it would be tough. Never in my entire college career have I taken an exam so brutal. For that reason, I can't recommend him for stats. Otherwise, I'd say take him if you're willing to put in the study time.

Professor Parent is an interesting teacher. He takes his job very seriously, but don't let that statement fool you. He is a very easy going person who likes to add in history and videos here and there to "enchance" the class. Calc 2 is a difficult class and he tells you that right off the bat. His tests are "reasonable" but the FINALEXAMISKILLER.

Calc II- Very helpful and approachable in office hours. Last year's answer keys are posted in advance, yet tests are still so hard that half the class is going to drop after the first one. The final may as well be administered anally, so take EVERY extra credit opportunity and be prepared to spend the last 4 weeks of school in the math lab.

I ended up dropping his class because subject was so hard. Calc 2 is very hard if you are not prepared enough. He is very friendly and helpful but it doesn't mean he will give everyone A+. You will have to study and put a lot of time into it to be able to pass.

He is amazing

One of the best professors I've had. Took him for both Calc I and Calc II. Show up to every class, take notes and ask any questions you have. Use the math lab for assistance also. His exams are tough, but if you study you won't have any issue. Use his old exams on D2L, they are a huge help!

I recommend parent if you struggle with math. He is super helpful and nice. He assigns homework but doesn't collect it or check it but if you do the homework, take good notes and ask for help you should be okay. I took him again for Mat 1150 and I'm glad I did!

Professor Parent is AWESOME!! Not an easy A but nothing in life is. Take notes and show up everyday for class on time because showing up late is rude. Go to his SI very helpful and you should be able to pass his class. He makes math interesting and you want to learn.

Probably the greatest math professor OCC has to offer. Is very clear explaining materials (I'd never taken precalc before his Calc class) likes to joke around to keep your head in the room, is always happy to help his students, gives several opportunities to do better, curves test, sometimes drops lowest exam grade 10/10 would recommend

Incredibly fair, helpful, and enthusiastic, in both classes I took with him. Not an easy A, but it can be done. Provides or at least arranges a lot of additional assistance if you need it. Homework was not graded but occasionally earns EC. DO THE HOMEWORK!, its your prep for the tests. Be responsible, attend, take notes, participate, and study.

Best teacher i've ever had! His exam are just like his review. Calculus is not easy but he makes it better. He's funny and nice and willing to help. I wish all my professors could be like him.

Jeff is the best of the best here at OCC. He's smart and funny. Trying to light up the lectures with math jokes and sometime funny videos. Grades are strictly based on tests so I encourage people go to class and try to participate ( he'll randomly call on you anyway) as he gives hints for the tests. He's also pleasant to look at.

Jeff is a very respectable teacher. He records all of his lectures and post's the videos on youtube. He is a tough grader, but offeres extra credit on every test. He is not a hard teacher, you just have to put in the work. Posts old test online to help study. He goes over everything more than enough times. Majority of the test comes from homework.

He was awesome! His lectures were so thorough and very well explained. He is very funny and keeps the class entertained. You are graded solely on exams. He offers so many ways to help study for the exams. He also offers a lot of chances for extra credit, so that was awesome toward my grade. I seriously looked forward to coming to class everyday!

I wish I could have his as a prof for every class. His class recordings are very helpful. If you do the hw then you will be fine on tests because he uses hw questions for questions on the test. Very organized, works his butt off to get grades online and on time 10/10

Very energetic!

People who do not do well in his class are typically students that don't do the work. As in any math class, you need to do the work to get a good grade. I thought Jeff was a great teacher. He goes at a steady pace, which I prefer. If you like a teacher that moves slow, I would not recommend him. He provides TONS of study material. Take his class.

I never want to take another math class without Parent as a Professor. He is very thorough so that everyone can follow and understand. He offers outside help when needed. He also breaks up the class with various relevant & funny math exercises. Genuinely a good guy who wants his classes to do well. Learned a lot from him.

Great math professor, he was very clear on how to get things done, has videos posted of his lectures which are accessible at any time. I am not a math person but I managed to get through by reviewing and doing the homework. Very helpful, just wish that some homework was counted towards grades for those who struggle with the subject.

Very good at explaining information. Statistics was rumored to be the hardest math class to pass, and he made it pretty easy. If you don't understand something in class, he will explain it to you again. If you do the suggest homework that he gives in class, you are set for the test. You don't have to do the homework if you know it.

First time taking Stat ever and let me tell you: Jeff is WONDERFUL! He actually teaches you something that can use in the real world. Lectures can be a lot to absorb at time but he posts notes and sample tests online plus his video lectures on youtube. What else can you ask for!!!!(Bonus: he's hot)

Very detailed Professor and fair. Even has a YTube channel of his lectures to help. When he assigns homework make sure you do it and keep up. 90% of the time homework questions are test questions. If you don't know math well he will make sure you do and offer all kinds of help. Would take him for every math course that he offers.

Parent was by far one of the most caring and respectful professors I had. He was very considerate of students and goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to help students in his courses. This class was something to look forward to during the week (I took this as a summer course) because his class was designed to be interesting and fun. TAKE PROFESSOR PARENT!!!!!

After two semesters with this professor, I learned that math doesn't have to be such a nasty thing to learn. The professor is very reasonable, and notices when you put the effort forward. This is one of the only professors I have ever had that uploaded videos of his lectures online. He is always putting lots of effort towards improving his courses!

One of the best math instructors!! The lectures were very clear and organized, so easy to follow, and some spots for some jokes and funny videos, in orded to make the lecture lighter! I took calc1 with him after years of break from math, but he refreshed all my math memory and I was able to follow!Ended up getting one of the highest grade in class

Jeff is an amazing math teacher! At first I was intimidated because he would call on me in class every week when I didnt want to be called on. But I realized he wants everyone to participate and to make sure everyone understands what is happening. He knows his math and really cares about making sure you succeed.

Awesome guy. Really does go above and beyond. Of course, you will need to study and work, but he will pave the way for you. He helped me a lot with my goals.

Professor Parent is amazing! Math is a hard subject for some, but he makes it super fun and easy to learn. He even makes YouTube videos of his lectures, so if you miss a day all you have to do is know what section you missed and his videos are just like sitting in class. He tests often, but on smaller subject material. Excellent professor!

I am so glad to have taken Professor Parent's Stat class. Hes funny, made every lecture enjoyable, and truly cares about the success of ALL his students. There were quite a bit of exams in this class but I think thats awesome because you truly get a chance to learn the material. Great professor and an even better person.

He is the best math professor at occ. He has previous semester exams on D2L, and posts the exams taken throughout the semester. 5 exams and he drops one lowest exam, about three in class assignments and extra credit opportunities. His final is accumulative but he prepares you thoroughly for it throughout the semester. His lectures are amazing.

He is an amazing teacher, and he is my best math teacher ever. I enjoyed and loved his classes so much. He is professional, and his classes is fun and helpful. He care about his students and being patient all the time. If you want to take math courses I would highly recommend his class.

Enjoyed my Calculus II class with him, especially his Maths jokes. He's a fair grader and understanding person, but as in every Maths class, you need to work to get a good grade.

Awesome teacher! Keeps math class interesting, and wants everyone to succeed. I had him for Mat1150, and I honestly find myself referring to his video lectures on his YouTube page somewhat frequently! His office hours are accommodating, and it is very easy to get feedback from him. Attendance is important.

Jeff is easily the best math professor at OCC. No one in his department is more dedicated to helping the kids learn the material. I highly recommend taking his classes.

Honestly, I dont see why people complain about the course. Jeff provides sample tests, notes, YouTube videos, and utilize calculator which make learning more effective and fun. What else could you ask for? He really goes above and beyond to deliver the best education to each and every student. I would take every math class with him if I could :)

I'm making this review because the previous ones don't give this professor enough credit. Jeff is a hilarious dude who cares a lot about his students success in all of his classes, not just this one. He provides students with well written notes, and practice exams that have many problems that are directly on the exam. Would take again.

Jeff, what a man. he loves math! he is super cool and always tells jokes to break away from math for a little. The class wasnt too bad, but ask questions and go to SI. Just beware if you take him for another math class you will hear the EXACT same jokes.

Gives great lectures and has youtube videos outside of class in case you missed a lecture. Offers a decent amount of extra credit as well. If you're looking for a good math professor who isn't super tough on grading and cares about your success than jeff is the way to go

Prof Parent is funny and charismatic, he cares about his students. With that said, his class is hard and you wont pass unless you do the homework. Textbook isnt necessary but I recommend renting one because he pulls questions from there for tests. Also make sure to study practice exams from D2L. Material is hard and you'll have to study 5 hrs a day

Not only one of the best math professors, but also one of the best professors I've ever had. He loves math and is very passionate about teaching it. He showed me how to grow and love statistics. I took him for trig class as well, and he really helped understood everything. I talk with him a lot outside of class, and he is really really nice!!!

Mr. Parent is one of the best professors I've had at OCC. He is nice and approachable. He welcomes and appreciates questions as well as class participation. From class, I've found Stats is something you either understand quickly or have to spend hours studying. He gives homework, and as long as you come to class, it's not too bad to grasp. 1000/10

Jeff is the best professor I've had in general. Gives you many useful resources to prepare for exams, lectures aren't boring, and he makes you understand the material. I'm in stats now with a different professor and find myself using all of his videos on YouTube to get by. Highly recommend!

He is probably the professor to take if you're not strong in math. He is probably the easiest/most laid back that you can hope to find. He is trying to make things as easy as possible. If you study hard you should be very happy with your grade.

Mr. Jeff is the best Math teacher I have ever had in my life. I took his class for Math 1540 and I am aboulsoluty taking all of his classes up to Calculus II. He really made this semester really easy especially during the hard times of the Pandemic. I absolutely recommend Mr. Jeff is a hundred percent.

Mr. Jeff is #1 math professor in all of Oakland county in my opinion. Lots of my friends say the same thing about this professor. I would totally recommend him . In fact, I'm taking my next math course with Mr. Jeff again in one week.

Professor Parent makes Math interesting and fun. He has a Youtube channel where he records his classrooms live. Due to COIVD-19 I am taking a math online course and I heavily rely on his channel. He gives feedback and will help you any way possible.

Jeff Parent is a really good teacher. I've taken 4+ classes with this guy and I've learned so much. In general, he is a great person and loves what he does. His youtube channel is a gem too. As long as you don't miss the lectures, you will get a decent grade in his class.

Calc 2 is NOT an easy class, but prof Parent will go above and beyond to make you understand the material and pass with a satisfactory grade. He is a very nice and kind person and cares so about his students. Take him you won't regret it!

Professor Parent's class for stats is not a bad choice, he gives you lots of homework through my mathlab on pearson, tests are okay, you have to study hard to pass the tests, show up to class for participation points, he lectures pretty quick which was hard for me to understand and if your weakness subject is math i would recommend not to take him.

Jeff is the BEST math professor I have ever seen so far. he made everything way easier. I took stats with him and I was worried about it because it's a hard class plus it's online but he worked so hard to make the material easy. he made us use technology to find almost everything in this course which made it less overwhelming.

professor Parent cares so much about his students. he always wants to find new ways of teaching to improve himself which is helpful. he is not picky at all about grading. when he sees people did bad on a particular test, he offers extra credit to earn the points they lost. Professor Parent is a cool guy and he's enjoyable to be in class with. Also, he will make the 2 hour class period fly by. I find his work to be hard most times, the homework is hard and it takes around an extra 3 hours just to learn one topic. I like the teacher a lot, just not the class. I literally love him. You for sure have to work for your grade, but he recognizes hard work. Also (TW: ED), somehow he makes every class about fitness and diet, so if you're a bit fragile in that department, beware. Other than that, he is an awesome math teacher, and the notes are awesome and EXTREMELY helpful. He's better than any hs math teacher.

One of the best professors I've had so far. Parent made it very easy to learn calculus and left me well prepared for calc II. If a student is struggling in his class he considers it a reflection of his teaching practices, a great mindset for a professor to have!

Statistics is a hard class, if you take this class online, rest in peace! I didnt like this class one bit and I found it to be the hardest thing Ive had to do in my life! I would just recommend you to find another math class to take instead of this class, It will save you so much stress.

I LOVED taking math with Prof Parent! He is funny and so easy to talk to. I have always been horrible at math and he is the first teacher that has helped me actually understand it! If you look him up on youtube, you can see what his lectures are like. HW is done in class in breakout rooms on zoom. So you have plenty of opportunities for help.

Prof. Parents class is the first time I ever have gotten an A in a math class. We use online applications like google sheets, statdisk, etc. that allows for us not to dwell on long equations. Lectures are interesting and straight to the point. Parent is a very personable guy, and you can tell is happy to be teaching.

I think the bad reviews are just students that don't want to put in ANY effort and still get an A. Hes a great professor who really wants his students to succeed. What a fantastic teacher. Seriously, I have struggled with math in the past. This semester was completely different - I was able to excel and actually enjoy my time learning algebra. Professor Parent's teaching style is clear, thorough, and he finds ways to keep the class engaged and having fun. Be prepared for dad jokes. Definitely recommend.

He can be nice to some extent he is not hard to talk to or intimidating for the people who were struggling drastically like myself no actual help was given. he provides information not solutions. His grading, his tests, and his work are just so hard in general. personally i don't recommend unless you are really good at math.

Make sure to understand homework and in-class problems thoroughly before the exam and you will be okay. It's not an easy A but it's 100% possible. If you ask questions in class, he will be responsive because he cares about your learning.

Just trust me, if you're going to take statistics take this professor. What an absolute national treasure. The amount of time and care he puts into the course to ensure that everyone can pass is honestly heartwarming. I hope im lucky enough to have professors like him in the future.

Go to class and do the math reviews that he gives out for the tests because the problems on the reviews are going to be on the tests. Homework was online, and it was pretty easy. The most problems for 1 section the whole semester was maybe 30. He is big on participation and will ask each person to answer a question in each lecture.
