Great Teacher
What a hottie!!!!
What a great guy! Besides that, he's also a great professor. Very knowledgeable about economics. Fair & honest.
Monotone most boring guy ever. He put me to sleep almost everyday. I didn't get anything out of his class. No wonder he doesn't have a real job as an economist, nobody wants to hire a guy with no people skill or persoanlity.
UNCG suck...because of professor like Sarbaum. What a waste!! He made econ the most boring subject to take. ugh!!
Ignore all the bad things people have posted about him. He gives easy HW that account for a huge amount of the grade, doesnt take attendance and his tests are right off his powerpoint slides basically. Anyone unhappy with him shouldnt be in college.....
He is a really good teacher. Everyonce in a while he does go off the subject but he does help you understand the things about economics that you need to know about in the future.
I have had Dr. Sarbaum for three different classes and he is infact my favorite teacher at UNCG. If you are interested in the subject of economics you MUST take some of his classes because they are extremely easy and very interesting.
DUDE! He's got like the personality of like a surfer dude. While I want to believe that he is intelligent, he comes across as an ****. All he talks about is beer. Everything he teaches is explained in terms of beer.
Sarbaum rocks! If you are at all interested in economics he will teach you alot because he is very clear and concise. If you are not interested in economics and whine about all the classes you have to sleep through in order to get your marketing degree, he is still very clear and concise.
By far my best Prof yet. There were a lot of people who complained about him but it seemed like everyone who did was the kind of student who skipped half the classes and would rather get high at 11AM than actually get a goo grade. He was funny and made it interesting and worth my time to be in class...makes me want to take more econ classes
Man this guy is the most definitely killer teacher..
His class is moderate overall. Sometimes it was tough, other times it was easy. If you pay attention and take good notes you'll do fine. He's very helpful as well and is willing to make office hours.
Top Quality fellow, will definitely work with you if you have any motivation and genuine desire to learn.
Great Teacher. He actually got me interested in Economics for the first time. Definately a +
This guy is the best teacher. He really knows his stuff. Even though I knew a lot about economics, I know more because he teaches well. Also he is very helpful when you have a question.
He reminds me of Gaston in the cartoon movie, Beauty and the Beast. He is okay, and brings his kids to class a lot. He's easy to talk to, and you can certainly get a good grade in his class, if you work just a little.
One of the best classes that I've had thus far in college. He makes class interesting. Gives good examples that college students can relate to. He really knows his stuff and can teach it very well.
Nice guy in class, I've never had any problem with him, so take him if you can fit it into your schudule. If you study before test you can make at least a B is his class. So just prepare yourself like any course at Uncg and you'll be fine.
His tests are very challenging, his lectures are pointless since our class was over 100 students. We had class in Bryan 160 and he would just read the slides, not in his office during office hours I am not a Eco major, but I wish he talked more about the subject matter and not about ipods, summer trips, and driving in his car from durham to here.
Sarbaum is very unclear in the class room, and is usually never in his office since he drives from durham. Go to the book's website and print off the material for the chapters and use his powerpoint slides only as refrence. His test are hard, hence why you get a 10 point curve on most test.
i like Sarbaum. he's totally disorganized in his lecture style (no powerpoint and writes right-to-left) but u just have to READ before so u follow him- hes a very cool guy. and hes funny. i really enjoyed this class, although i dont know how much i actually learned. but hes a good teacher and a good guy.
I had a rough start in this class. Its easy to feel that this class is not that hard, but when you get his first exam you see otherwise. I turned things around in this class by doing a few simple things. Read the chapters thoroughly, study the exam questions and understand why certain answers are wrong, and lastly go see him regularly for clarity.
Class size is a little too large to get a fair judgement, and he seems like he'd be more suited for smaller classes. Still a very good professor, and worth taking. I just think he'd more suited to teaching higher level econ then 300.
Read the chapters, study the questions and main concepts and then listen to lectures for clarification of concepts and you'll do fine.
Great class! You cover relevent and interesting topics and he does all he can to make sure you comprehend them.
Great speaker and keeps your attention even though its boring. Gave 13-15% curves on the test! Showed a lot of videos and gave previous versions of the test. Overall a great teacher and I recommend him.
This class was pretty enjoyable~ He always uses good examples and he keeps you interested in class by cracking jokes~ I would def take him again if I had the chance... Just beware that the homework can be tough and you do have to work for your exam grades~ it's easy as long as you pay attention
Good teacher, compares all of economics to beer and pizza...fun class...no attendance policy BUT YOU REALLY NEED TO GO!!!
he was a great teacher and very funny.
He is an excellent teacher. Not the easiest class, but his teaching and fun personality is worth it
If you actually go to class, its not that hard at all. Very intelligent, entertaining, and good looking.
The class is hard, but he tries to explain everything well. Attendance is not mandatory, and he sticks to the syllabus like glue. Will work with you after class if you have a question. Good looking in a goofy sort of way.
OK teacher. He is great at explaing basic concepts, but can be a little confusing on the more difficult concepts. Talks about speeding a lot. If you HAD to take this class I would recommend.
He is Awsome. No textbook. We used a story book "The Choice". Online quizes, and some of the questions from quiz added to the exam. If you have some interest in ECO and just want to pass it, this is teacher for u.
I found this class to be very interesting and I have never found Economics classes too intersting. The tests were hard but he starts to cut a little slack at the end of the semester. Dr. Sarbaum is a wonderful professor and pretty cute too!
Funny. Good teacher, sometimes strays from topic, but doesn't take away from learning. Curves grades.
ECO 300 sucks. period. I wouldnt go to the night class, he just mumbles about random stuff lol hes a cool guy, but doesnt teach much. The homework is hard, the exams are easy and some of the homework problems are on the exam. He curves exams like crazy so dont stress over exams. His lectures should be more about the subject, but he's cool.
Amazing teacher. If you go to class, take good notes, and study, you will not have a problem passing the class. He makes the material fun and interesting, and is very easy on the eyes too. If you take Micro, make sure it's with him.
Dr. Sarbaum was a really interesting professor. His lectures were very interesting and never boring. If you come to class and pay attention you are guaranteed at least a B. The test questions can be tricky, but fair.
I took his online summer class and it was awesome. Not very difficult at all, but only because he set it up to be that way. He was very clear in everything and was overall a dream professor. Take him if you get the chance
made the class easy and interesting..probably one of the better profs in the bryan sch...take his class if u can
Great teacher. Focuses more on general skills and basic knowledge than how hard he can make the test and class, like some teachers. He truly wants his students to understand and be able to use the class material. The tests are not easy, but also not difficult. Go to class.
Everyone talks about how great this teacher is but I had a very hard time with him. He is very verbal as in he talks a lot, but he never showed how to do stuff. For a visual learner, it was really hard to understand where he was coming from. And he didn't really help me that much either when I told him I was having a hard time.
Great Professor!!! thats all I have to say....helpful and nice and easy to understand!
You really have to learn the concepts. He is a good teacher though.
I took his online class and it was quite easy. The online class is literally a game. This class taught me the same things that I learned in Marketing, so it kinda just refreshed my memory. overall good class.
Funny guy, interesting class. Homework takes a fair amount of effort but counts 25%. Three tests that are curved and he drops your lowest so they count 25% each. Final also counts 25% and is hard but he curves it. Would recommend this class.
I took his online game class. It was a breeze all the way through, except the final exam. I bombed the exam and realized I hadn't actually learned anything.
I took his 8 week online game course. I learned a lot from it, way more then I would in a traditional lecture setting. Ended up with an A in the class, take the online game course if you can and if you don't like Economics.
Just an awesome teacher.
Great class!
I took this course over the fall in the form of a gameshow. It was very interesting and not like other online courses. He doesn't respond to emails in a timely matter however, the course is pretty self explanatory. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants and easy A or B, just stay on top of the assignments.
I took the online game for this class and the material was easy but it took up a lot of time. Don't wait till the last few days to finish a level or you will be doing it for hours on end.
I took the online class where you're basically an alien civilization stranded on post-apocalyptic earth. It was interesting. It gets harder as you go along unless you can keep up. Don't wait until the last minute!!! You will stress. It does take some time, but well worth the experience. I recommend it!
Great class. Dr. Sarbaum assumes you know a lot before you take his course. It had been 9 years since I had Micro and Macro Econ. so it was a little more challenging for me.
I took the online game and the only thing that I hated was that the "gameshow"(or final tests) were hard. I started off within the A-/B+ range because the course and quizzes were easy. Yet his test only covers a small percentage of what was taught. I highly recommend thinking outside the box, doing hw ahead of time, and emailing him frequently.
Great teacher. He covers topics very clearly, and brings in world news that are surprisingly interesting. Very intelligent and good sense of humor as well. Listen, read, and do homework to make an A.
I took the online game and the only thing that was hard is the "gameshow"(or final tests). I started off within the A-/B+ range because the course and quizzes were easy. His test only covers a small percentage of what was taught. My advise is to make sure you take good notes.
For the most part, a very easy class. Also very interesting. Although attentance was not taken, going to class was very beneficial. If you went to class, you are basically guaranteed to do well on the tests. Easy homework assignments (TED Talks), for easy grades.
His sense of humor far outweighs his ability to clarify subjects. The textbook we are using is not well structured and difficult to engage in. The power point presentations he has developed are not in depth nor sufficient enough to cover material. Overall his method of teaching is not for visual learners whatsoever.
Do the reading and come to class prepared and you'll do just fine. Not a class you can blow off and learn at the last moment.
If you are interested in learning something you'll learn a great deal. And if you study you'll do well. It's college. It's not supposed to be easy.
Good professor, absolutely knows his stuff. However, he assumes you have a concrete understanding of the Macro & Micro PreReq courses, so if not then you better brush up. Also, the class is 125+ students, so don't hang out in the back if you have questions. Come to class and take notes, because his PowerPoints require supplemental note taking.
Dr. Saarbaum is an awesome teacher! He is a great lecturer who can easily explain concepts from his power point slides. It is not an overly hard class, as long as you keep up with the homework and reading material. Economics is a pretty boring subject but this man does a great job making it interesting for his students. Take his class!
I took this class online for the summer and thought it was a decent and organized class. This professor made it clear on the syllabus what he wanted, but other than that I enjoyed the class.
So much better with Sarbaum!
Excellent professor the information on blackboard was relevant, well thought out easy to understand and this made a rather dry subject interesting. I learnt so much about the global economy and it made sense given snippets I had read or heard in the news. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS!
Such a smart man! Love his classes. HIGHLY RECCOMEND
This class was online and was in the form of a video game. You have to set time out to participate in the game and take the quizzes but I liked it a lot. If you do the bonus gameshows you get extra credit which is important. Take notes through out the game and you will do fine. Textbook is required but I never opened it.
Sarbaum is a great teacher who makes Econ fun and interesting, instead of dry and boring. He knows what he's talking about and has a sense of humor. However, since he lectures off the top of his head instead of using his slides, sometimes his lectures get a tiny bit disorganized. There isn't much work, but attending class is essential to passing.
He is a nice guy. If it is your first time taking Econ or you don't understand the subject too well, don't get suckered into his jokes and study hard. If you already have some mastery of the subject (from previous classes) then laugh away. :) He grades fairly is is not rude or condescending to students. He loves econ and takes pride in teaching.
Remember, He is Good but Tough. There are more than 24 students of 194 failed in his lecture. He was nice but not too nice.
Good Professor, I like how he uses examples to help you understand the material. I did learn a great deal.
This class was a joke. It was extremely easy and only required about 3 hours every 2 weeks. I suggest taking this class when you are going to have a hard semester because it requires little to no effort. There are only 8 quizzes and 8 homeworks, no exams and no final. All exam answers are on quizlet and coursehero
This was my first econ class ever, I did fail my first test, but after paying more attention in class, I finally understood the material and ended up passing with a B. He gives really good examples that are really useful. I highly recommend him. I just wish he was teaching macro econ.... sigh... Pay attention, study, read and study more.
I got the online book and i didn't open it but it probably would have been helpful. Recommend getting the physical book. Tests are all multiple choice. Stressful class for me because I slacked off and didn't understand the material. He curves the tests a lot.
Plenty of reading, but the only assignments are online discussion in groups and Mobius writing assignments (3 pages each). Conceptually, the work is designed to make you think and you can put a good deal of time and effort into the papers. Plenty of students phoned it in or worse and got B's, but if you want that A you need to work for it.
The course website is clearly laid out with video lectures to watch (or read the transcripts). He will help if asked, so ask. Quizzes through Canvas, homework through Pearson but neither typically line-up with his "Units" so just do a little research and you'll find the aligned Chapter(s). Tests are tough but manageable if you do your work.
Very time consuming and a lot of reading, but the test are pretty easy if your read.
Taken online. Very clear set-up, no surprise assignments. Homework and a quiz every other week, very manageable. Active on discussion board for answering questions. If you want to do well, does require a bit of reading (his personal website plus chapter notes). Midterm and final were pretty hard, so it does require studying! Drops lowest quiz & HW.
I took ECO201 with him in class and ECO 300 with him online. ECO 300 felt pretty stale--he hardly interacted with the class, and the content on his website was obviously out-of-date (although still relevant for the most part). There is homework on MyEconLab and quizzes on Canvas due every other week. There is also a midterm and a final. Nice info.
All the info for this class was online, with once a week meetings. Sarbaum was technically the professor, but I saw him twice the whole course. If you are able to learn independently, this class could be a nice alternative to a lecture type class, but the course is pretty challenging. If you even think you may struggle, try a non-online class.
I hate this class SO MUCH. I feel like it's my hardest class ever because of the layout. I can count on one hand how many times he has interacted with the class for the last 5 weeks of class.
Sarbaum is a straight shooter and his expectations are clearly outlined in the syllabus for the class. In this online class, the quizzes and tests focused more on his own notes and lecture materials than on the book. However, the online ECON Lab homework assignments were straight from the book. No useless discussion posts required in this class!
Online classes are the absolute worse place to have group projects, and someone needs to tell him that. My group never made the opportunity to meet, and when I expressed this concern to him, I got no response. Hated this class.
Great professor! Online format of learning units very easy to use. Online group project that is worth 25% of overall grade was easier than I thought it would be.
Good proffesor. He really knows his Econ. I love that the exam grades would be posted the same day it was taken. ECO 201 is more of a self learning class so people blaming failure on him are irrelevant. He provides us with tools to be succesful though
Professor Sarbaum is great! Took his micro class online and he made the material really understandable. He set the entire curriculum around a coffee shop. No group project, just 3 tests and homework assignments. Read the notes he posts, watch his lecture videos, and you'll be fine.
I took the online summer class. For people who have full time jobs and another class, this class isn't for you. There's an assignment due EVERY DAY. You'll have homework due in 1 day, a quiz the next day, and a class assignment due another day.
Great professor. Good communication with the class throughout the semester. If you do the assigned homework assignments, you'll do fine on the quizzes and exams.
The professor was understanding but the course material is very difficult especially for an online course. If you try your best he will put a couple extra points towards your final grade
No answers on coursehero. Homework assignments are a weighted avg to 'incentivize learning.' Cengage was only for hw so it was a waste of money. It was clearly structured for people to not cheat, not for students to learn. They made the course much harder than it needed to be. One of my least favorite courses. Be prepared to be miserable
He is an amazing professor and person. He takes the time to make sure you understand the content and goes above and beyond for his students. He does not judge students, and helps them the best he can. Economics was one of my hardest classes, but he is my favorite teacher. I would 12/10 recommend him as your teacher. He is amazing.
I honestly didn't interact with Sarbaum at all this semester. I didn't have any issues in the class (I took this online) and I did well enough. The homework problems could get overwhelming but he added points at the end of the semester to help with any issues that might have occurred from that. I recommend taking this class online if you can!
This class was actually not too bad. I almost had a solid A until the midterm. The final was pretty tough as well. I didn't like how hw was on Cengage instead of Pearson, but he will add a few points to your homework grades at the end of the semester. It is online and it's pretty demanding so definitely stay on top of due dates.
Pretty easy class. #1 thing--DON'T MISS DEADLINES for assignments (especially the exams)!! Always a few confusing test questions, but all are open book. Should look over book beforehand, but you generally have time to look up all of the answers--most come directly from book. Group project can be frustrating if others don't participate, but doable.
I took this class online, and have mixed feelings about. I feel that I didn't learn much about the topic, but the online class is manageable. Lots of quizzes and homework (the homework is done on Cengage - a real nightmare! Graphing exercises are messy and complicated). The quizzes are based on the learning area and class videos.
Dr. Sarbaum is one of the best professors here at UNCG. He strikes the perfect balance between encouraging students to learn the material for themselves and helping those who are lost. He grades fairly and explains things very clearly; just put in the effort and you will do fine.
I had him for ECO 201 and he seemed cool. As a online professor for ECO 300, I hated him. He does not reply to multiple emails and did not even post a study guide/list of topics for the final exam. The class is hard. Be prepared to read. The homework is hard because you get the average score of your attempts. Answers are not online. Read and Study!
Would take again nothing negative to say. He alright with me!!
I absolutely love Professor Sarbaum. His lectures are super interesting and he always has good ways of explaining the topic, sometimes with little jokes. Seems extremely competent and knows what he is talking about. In my opinion, if you show up to class and do all the homework (honest and without googling it) you barely need to study for the exam.
The class itself isn't too hard except for the fact that he gives you three attempts on the homework but takes the average of all three scores. You need to do all of the work and spend a lot of time in the learning area to do well. It's doable though.
Spent 2 hours on the weekly assignment just to get a 0 because I skipped one (couldn't figure it out). He also provided zero feedback on the answers, avoid if you can.
VERY boring class! Repeats himself a lot and requires a small group class. Did not take attendance, but if you don't go to class you won't pass
Horrible. Doesn't provide study guides or even tell students what to focus on for exams. Tests mainly on homework from the book that he doesn't explain in the Learning Area. He is also not accessible at all outside of class, no office hours and doesn't reply to emails. Right now he is the only teacher for ECO300, good luck.
ECO 300 is a difficult class. BUT, there are so many grades that you always have a chance to do well. 8 quizzes are 5% each 40% of your grade. Tests aren't easy, but you have to try (it's college, ya know). Midterm 15%. Homework 25%. Final is only 20%, so no big tests worth half your grade. He has a lot of info available if you're interested.
The most difficult part of this class was the homework. You get three tries on each question, and the graphs were pretty hard especially when we got to the end of the semester. Sarbaum is a good lecturer and attendance was always required, we had to sign an attendance sheet every class. Definitely a class that you have to study for.
Excellent Professor! If you need to fill a general or are required to take ECO201 I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sarbaum. His explanations are incredible and he really cares about the students. Tests are multiple choice and are not difficult at all. The homework can be somewhat challenging but will prepare you for the exams. Don't miss out!
Straight G. I loved this professor, very cool. One of the easiest classes I've taken. Homework was sometimes challenging, but for the most part it was okay.
I took him for ECO 201 I would suggest getting a tutor. GO TO CLASS. Take notes and try to understand. There is weekly quizzes and assignments on Cengage. Get a study group. A lot of work for this one class.
Professor Sarbaum's class was cool. It's a lot to do and read, but everything is pretty easy as long as you follow along and complete the homework and quizzes. Didn't interact much but would answer any questions if you did have them. Would recommend if you need to take the class to take it with him!
My third class with this professor. I think hes a great lecturer but the material is pretty hard in my opinion. I liked his Unit lessons, they were very informative and helped solidify what you learned on MindTap. The tests/quizzes are much easier than the homework
I took the online summer session of this course with Dr. Sarbaum. SO. MUCH. WORK. You move through a chapter of work in 2-3 days on average and it was easily consuming 3 hours of my day most days. He is a good instructor and does multiple routes to get the material across. He curved the tests and homework averages. Expect to work in this one!
The way my class was formatted, we had lectures on Monday's and group work on Wednesday's. If you pay attention during the lecture and do the homework, you should be fine. The homework can seem overwhelming, but it isn't too bad once you sit down and start doing it. My best advice would be to study HARD for the exam. Do that and you should be good.
Be prepared for a lot of homework. Takes days in advance to complete assignments on top of the difficulty. Had to learn from videos of his old lectures to old classes he had. It's literally like watching another student sit in his class that you are paying to be sitting in. Hard to learn when you aren't the student being taught.
I didn't enjoy this class but it might just be micro... The professor has so many students so don't count of getting an email back. Homework and easy "quiz" every week, one zoom class a week for an hour. 2 midterms and final but he curves the midterms and homework in the end. Not sure if he'll curve final yet but I bet he will.
This class is definitely hard if you don't apply yourself at all. Micro in general is hard in my opinion, so you really need to stay focused. The tests were difficult for me and the homework was frustrating at times. I did really enjoy Sarbaum's learning area website and thought it was very helpful. Overall good professor, just a hard-ish topic.
Great teacher who goes in depth in his assignments. Learned a ton about economics in his class. Will definitely sign up for more classes of his in the future.
Good teacher, the way his online class is set up is very helpful and easy to follow along. Solid teacher, his lectures are interesting and he gives good real life examples to help you understand. You have a few homework assignments every week but they are not too bad.
I took this class online and didn't interact much with Professor Sarbaum. I found this class to be typical (not really easy or hard). There was a lot of MindTap HW, so sometimes it was overwhelming and I didn't try my hardest, but I still made a B+. The quizzes and exams are a breeze in comparison. Overall, not bad, but nothing exciting.
You won't be seeing Dr. Sarbaum if you take his class online but his lecture videos are engaging and the work is not very difficult. Mindtap homework is the bread and butter so just make sure you do all of them.
Hes alright. Couldve been a little more understanding at times but his course is pretty clear. If you follow a long with the learning areas from the beginning, youll pass.
I had his class online and didn't talk much with Professor Sarbaum. Class was with the TA. I found this class to be average, do the work and you'll pass. There was just a good amount of MindTap HW, but fairly easy.
The schedule will skip homework, but double it and triple it the following week if your not paying attention. The physical book is pretty bad unless you have a photographic memory, because the graphs and explanations are on different pages with a format that mimics Genisis. Professor is a good guy and knows his buisness.
Dr. Sarbaum is a very good instructor and provides a lot of additional materials/lectures to help you get through the course. He related the material to real life scenarios. The course had weekly homework, quizzes and exercises. Weekly work was anywhere from 5 8 hours a week, additionally as it was an online course, there was a mandatory weekly
I loved Dr. Sarbaum! I took his class fully online and he really cares about the students. If I had any questions he was always willing to answer them. There is no dumb question so don't be afraid. His class was a bit hard but fun at the same time because the things that you learn in class are relevant to the world but you had to think logically.
He uses technology better then most professors, also he made the course textbook interactive online and free.
Dr. Sarbaum is awesome. The textbook is interactive and makes learning concepts so much easier. Economics isn't my favorite, but the interactive learning made it so much more fun. He also really cares about his students. I did really well on Exam 1 and he complimented me and encouraged me to continue studying so I can do well on exam 2 as well.
Loved Dr. Sarbaum. There's a lot of homework in this class, but it's helpful. His exams coincide directly with the material and you should know it well by the time you get done with all of the homework. I'd definitely take him again.
Prof. Sarbaum is probably one of the best professors I've had at UNCG thus far. You can tell that he is very knowledgeable about the topic and knows what he is talking about. He is actually a co-author on the textbook that we used for his class. There's a lot of homework questions, but it def. helps in learning and understanding the material.
Do not take this class online.
He wasn't a bad professor. Exams were straightforward most questions came from his interactive book and worksheets. Exam is everything that is taught in lecture. Worksheets and interactive book hw are graded heavy but not hard. Your lowest exam grade is not worth as much.
Professor was very chill and helpful. Not too hard. One thing I recommend is staying on top of all reading and assignments as it is 40% of your overall grade. His book is really helpful especially with the videos.
Took as a summer course and it was A LOT! Besides reading the book you have to read the "Learning Area" (riddled with videos and recordings to watch) which are in the quizzes. The MindTap portion of the homework has graphs that were not explained, kind of "find out yourself" how to do. On the bright side he gave extra points and rounded MindTap up!
Very smart guy but sometimes over explains things and makes the class way more complicated than it should. Imo save yourself the headache like mandatory attendance and over complication and take credits for this class online at a community college.
Mandatory attendance but HW is due the night before class and lectures don't elaborate any more than the online textbook modules. Could have been 100% online and saved a ton of gas and time. Some weeks have double the workload, but it doesn't take too much time to complete. Befriend your small group for best results.
He is an excellent professor.
Professor Sarbaum is extremely knowledgeable. You can tell he loves economics. My advice would be to really read take notes and go over your notes. It's so many different topics you will be learning this is far from an easy A but it is doable. He also curves exams and final grades. Overall an amazing professor just make sure you study!!!
Weekly textbook homework can be annoying, but is easier working with other people. Manage your time well, homework is 60-120 questions a week, 1-2 hrs max. Lecture goes over textbook so you understand. 3 tests, and we got 9 points added each time from curve. Studying a little and paying attention in class will get you an A, amazing professor.
Great instructor! There's a good amount of reading but it's interactive. That makes it a little easier than having a book for this class. Very helpful and easy to get in contact with.
If u hate lectures do not take this class, he talks a lot and he lets that be known in when the class starts. His exams can be a bit tough but homework is very simple as long as you do it on time or else he takes half of the points off which damages your grade a whole lot. Id take him again but as early as possible so I can get his lecture over with
I did not enjoy the textbook assignments mainly because pearson always has issues. It was either down or did not answer, there was always some thing wrong
Super easy class. Only graded on homework (which you have two attempts per question) and super easy quizzes. No exams or final in this course and everything is on Quizlet. I never read the textbook.
I LOVED Sarbaum. Had him over the summer last year and had a lot of complications with Pearson. A super easy man to get in contact with. Emailed me even while he was at the airport to get my issue resolved. Any question I had, he answered in a quick turn-around. I would recommend him any day to take for economics! VERY knowledgable and simple work!
Such a straight forward class, no exams just Pearson HW and a test for each module that are very very easy. He is my goat and I will never take another eco class with anyone else
Engaging lectures, but the textbook assignments can be tricky. Manage your time well and use study tools like unstuck AI alongside the course material. An overall solid class with a fair grading curve.
Very simple professor. There's a book with the homework and that's most of the grade. Test are simple and its very hard to fail his class. W professor. Good advice if you ask after class.
Man, he is the literal best! Curves on tests, funny, and really professional. I hope to take another class with him futuristically. Whoever gets him is lucky! AMAZING PROFESSOR, UNCG IS LUCKY.
Super easy class. All you do is a Pearson assignment and quiz each week, no final, easy work.
Prof Sarbaum is an amazing person and professor. This class has been my one grade in college that is not an A, so my C+ took me by surprise. He does curve tests and homework but only by 12 points at the most. My struggle was more with Economics itself not the professor. Lectures are long and its just him reading off of slides or just him speaking.
His class was really easy to take online. His section is one of those classes that you can knock out in a couple weeks because all the homeworks and quizzes are found on Quizlet. There is also no final exam for Sarbaum's class!
I took ECO 300 fully online with Sarbaum and it was super easy. All the answers for the homework and quizzes are right in the book. But be careful, we were only graded on quizzes and homework on Pearson so if you get a bad grade on a quiz it can tank your grade. As long as you take your time, you should get an A, nothing less than a B!!
The textbook assignments are easy but some of them can be tricky in the wording so read carefully. The tests are decently hard so you should definitely prepare for them. When it comes to lectures he is unbearable. He goes off on random tangents about who knows what while staying on the same slide for an hour. Requires attendance to talk nonsense.
Great professor! He was very chill and clear on his instructions. Everything was pretty self-explanatory especially how his canvas was set up. This class is an easy A. Just read and do the homework. There were no exams for this course.
Very easy class, Only graded by homework and quizes on Pearson. Very kind professor! 100% would take again
