Jeff is the best accounting prof. If you take him more than once, he will pick on you, but its all good. If you fail his class, its because you didnt show up.

Jeff is a smart A$$ but it works in his classroom. A good teacher, that under the "rough" show cares how your do in the class. I'd take a class from him again for sure.

He is an amazing teacher. Made the class fun, cares about his students, replies to email in a reasonable amount of time. His test can be hard but if you study and UNDERSTAND and not memorize the work, you will be fine. His grading system is fair. only used the book for HW. By far my Favorite teacher and his personality makes him attractive. :o)

Great teacher! Made class really interesting, has a great sense of humor! Go to class, do the homework and there isnt any reason you shouldnt get an A. Tests are part mc and part problem. As long as you put something down, he'll find a way to give you points. I'd take him again in a heartbeat.

Awesome prof. Class is hard. But he makes it easy. The way he figures out grades is what I like the best. You can afford to do bad on some tests, and still make a decent grade. It comes in handy when you have to do cash flows.

By far the best professor i have had at SHSU! he tries to help you out so much, and gives out so many free points, just show up to class and do the in class assignments and quizzes and your golden! but dont wear any UT attire, cus he'll give you a hard time! ;)

Very involved professor. He makes an otherwise dry subject quite interesting, and has a great sense of humor if you are sharp enough to follow it. I recommend him for all ACC majors and for anyone with troubles in accounting. He provides notes to bring to class and allows for many questions before moving to the next topic. 10/10 in my opinion.

He is definitely one of my favorite teachers at Sam so far. He explains thing really well & gives other ways to grade you other than just exams. His sense of humor helps the class move along faster also.

He is very funny and gives you several inclass assignments and quizes which you can use your notes and neighbors. His tests are very hard though.

The best professor Sam has to offer, especially in the Acc department. Material is hard, but that's expected in accounting. Does everything possible to make you understand. Gives quizzes and in class assignments that will boost your grade. Very sarcastic which makes the class enjoyable. If you understand the homework and in class assignments you will do great on the test. Very easy to make an A. If you have a chance to take him do it. Can't wait to take his grad school class!

Dr. Strawer is one of the best teachers by far he made acct. fun and this is even after acct. during summer school.

He is one of the best teacher in shsu. if u r comfortable with long ques take him....he gives 33 multiple and rest long que. He is cool and funny.....he covers everything in the class ...for the test. he is easy to understand..n his teaching has clarity..

Sarcastic and funny. If you really pay attention to the first few tests that are partial credit you'll make high B's and A's but the make up exam and final are multiple choice and very difficult to finish in time frame! And I'm usually one to finish early. Overall I'd take it again.

Strawser makes accounting much more bearable than it is. He knows his stuff well & teaches with his students in mind. Very sarcastic sense of humor & is very easy to talk to in case you're struggling with the material. Extra credit is given, but you have to earn it. Accounting is still accounting and you will fail if you don't put forth the effort.

Not his normal class to teach, but knew the material well. The class is confusing, but he was there to help with any problems. Very laid back,I really liked him, if there are any more acct. classes I need, I will check to see if he is teaching it before I look into another teacher, teaching it.

He made everything so easy. As long as you go to class everyday and work on the handouts he gave in class, you will do good on tests. One of my best professors I have had!

Do the homework, fill out the handout and it becomes an easy class.

AWESOME PROFESSOR! he has great personality, you will never get bored in his class. He doesnt really assign hw, but he does give you practice problems to work at home (recommend to do them). you have in class assignments and quizes. you dont really have a study guide, but as long as you know how it works, you'll do just fine:)

Great professor! He knows his material really well and simplifies it! He doesn't use Cengage which is nice. Also, posts study problems and some videos for examples. He was always there to help me out or answer my questions. Also, responds to emails quickly! Extremely fair. Take him if possible!

Accouting is a hard class but Straswer really does try to help everyone understand. He gives out his own notes which is really nice and good for the tests. We do use the book for inclass assignments. The final is cummulative. Accouting is something you really have to work on, its not that easy. He is very helpful and keeps the class entertaining.

Strawser knows what he is doing and knows how to make Accounting somewhat fun with the funny jokes.

He has a good sense of humor and it made a rough course barable.

He tells you how it is. His teaches to the facts that needed to be told. If you do not ask questions on things you are unsure of go ask. He is willing to help.

Dr. Strawser is honest about the difficulty of the class, but does the best he can to make a tough class bearable. He explains the material clearly & gives you the neccessary tools to pass. He posts study problems for each chapter online, posts handouts for lecture notes, answers e-mails quickly & encourages in class questions. Great professor!

Strwaser is by far my favorite professor I have ever had! If you care he cares. I would take him for all of my accounting classes if I could. He is hilarious and honest with his students. He makes sure you understand if you go to his office and ask for help. If you get the opportunity to take him DO IT!

He makes the class very interesting, and easy to follow along when taking notes. He tells you exactly what is on the exam . I had to use the textbook for the assignments in class, also he has a make up final which is cumulative and can replace an exam grade. The practice set is hard.

Dr. Strawser is a top 5 professor at SHSU. He makes a tough class manageable and cares about his students. His dry sense of humor makes his class fun but understand it is still accounting. Also DO NOT skip his class. You will also need the book for participation grades.

This was the hardest class I've ever taken. I took it during the summer and worked my butt off and got a high B. Anyone that complains they didn't do better didn't try hard enough. I took this class Summer 2015

Dr Strawser is the best accounting professor I've had yet, out of 3. He likes to joke around and really encourages class dialogue, even if its only humor and jokes. The material he covers is difficult to some but his lectures and in-class assignments help a lot. He grades tests very much in your favor, grading concepts instead of exact values.

Dr. Strawser is by far the best accounting professor at SHSU! If you do not want to work for your grade, I don't know why you're at a university. If you are an accounting major and what an "easy" class, then he is not the professor for you. I truly do not think you will find an "easy" accounting professor! Earn your grade!

Strawser is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. If you had a hard time with the first accounting, I would recommend taking his class. He makes a tough subject manageable and gives you the tools you need to pass, but you have to EARN your grade! He's also hilarious! Some advice: DO THE BONUS PRACTICE SET. IT'S WORTH IT!

Excellent professor to take for Cost Accounting! Even though hes a real funny guy, hes straight to the point and explains things very well. Whatever is on his notes WILL be on the Exam. I wish every professor was similar to Strawser, because our college lives would be so much easier.

Take. Strawser. He's hilarious! Really good teacher, knows the AIS is boring as all get out. Super accessible outside of class. No book needed. Start your SAP early, show up to class during the Excel stuff, it's definitely challenging. 3 tests, all super early in the course. SAP and Excel start in April, I basically didn't attend til from then on.

Dr. Strawser was a great teacher to have for accounting. The class itself has difficult material to understand, but he breaks it down as easily as he can. Make sure you do the extra study problems and in class assignments for practice. Don't fall behind in the class; he can move fast at times. Textbook is needed for study problems.

Can be fast paced during his lectures, but explains the content in a way that you can understand the material. He's very accessible outside of class and gives you plenty of opportunities to ask for help. Do the work, ask questions, and you'll be good to go.

Strawser is the best accounting professor I have had so far. He is quick witted and moves at a fast pace if there aren't any questions. You have to do the homework to practice for the test, its the only way to get a good grade. He is very clear, and accessible. I appreciate that he is pretty bluntly honest and doesn't sugar coat reality.

If you don't go to class, you will not pass this course.

If you do all of his practice problems and attend his classes you have a huge chance of a good grade in his class.

Took cost accounting over 2019 summer and loved the pace of it. Strawser was one of my favorite professors. Do the problems he gives you, listen in class and you'll be fine.

He is very understanding and also very willing to help you with anything you need a better grasp on. Responds to emails fast, lots of homework, exams open note, offers extra credit, and you wont need the textbook.

Strawser is straight to the point in lectures which makes videos short, I found this nice. Course material itself was not too hard. 4 exams and some homework. Not cumulative final. Get to use your notes on all exams but you are proctored. I would definitely take him again. Only negative is you have to pay for Cengage.

Strawser is great! The lectures are to the point, we work problems in class, and he makes his expectations clear. If you review notes & lecture (more than once) in prepping for your exam, high chance of making B or higher. If you are struggling, reach out to him! He's funny and wants his students to be successful.

Really tough course, but the tests are easier than the work-out problems done in class. Extra credit was offered every once in a while and lectures went over notes and practice problems. I found that as long as you could get through a practice problem on your own you would be fine on the test.

Dr. Strawser is a great professor, and is very knowledgable. The material is not super challenging, but you have to study for his exams. Willing to help students, but you have to put in the effort. 4 exams and a final, no homework. A few quizzes and in-class assignments. Take him for cost accounting!

Dr. Strawser is a very good professor who gives lots of extra credit for exams and lectures are very detailed in order to give his students a better chance to learn the material and use it effectively in the real world. I would diffidently recommend him if you are an accounting major.

This was a good class. His lectures are super engaging. One of my fav profs. However, he didn't use a book, just his own notes that he gave us. That was kind of hard bc the notes were so cut and dry (plain) and for me personally it was a bit hard to learn that way. Regardless, he gives tons of extra credit and is super helpful-Take him for w/e 100%

He only pokes fun at you if he knows you. This person below me (may 10nth) is just chronically afflicted with gigantic whiney little B syndrome (terminal illness). Grow up already, big boys and girls can take an offensive remark and not whine about it.

Professor Strawser was the best. I took him for 3304 and 3347, and I love him so much. He's funny and genuinely wants you to do well. You have to put in the work, but if you do the notes, assignments, quizzes, and work through the study problems, you'll be perfectly fine. His practice is just like the exam, you just have to understand the concepts.

The lectures can be dry, but practice the concepts and use unstuck study for study prep - it really helps alongside the free textbook. Stay engaged, ask for help when needed, and you'll do well in this challenging but manageable class.

Professor Strawser remains my absolute favorite. His lectures are so helpful and he explains things so well that it makes any topic seem simple. For online cost, we were able to use our notes for the exams. So as long as you do the work and prepare great notes, you should make As. Also, he gives tons of extra credit. Love you Strawser

Dr. Strawser was great & funny too! I hated accounting prior to this class, he kind of made me wish I majored in accounting, at times. The content can be challenging but he's always available during his office hours. As long as you put the time & effort in you should do well! Flashcards help a lot & participate in class or he will nag about it lol.

He is a good professor, but his way of teaching is very critical thinking, and unfortunately, I'm a memorizer. If you are a memorizer, you will not do well. You actually have to put in the effort and do a lot of critical thinking, which can be very tricky with him. You can use notes on the exam, and he offers extra credit.

He's a good professor and really funny. I wasn't a huge fan of how he taught the class, which was just writing out all the problems on the board, but he was always available if you needed help. From what I have read, it sounds like he lets his online students use notes on the tests, so I'd probably recommend taking his class online if available.

This is an MBA accounting course that is supposed to be one of the most difficult in the program, but he made it as easy as it could be. I had no background in accounting before this class, and he explained every concept clearly. If you come to every class and do the homework, you will be fine.

Dr. Strawser makes the course content interesting and the lectures fun. He works out problems on the board which is helpful to refer to when studying. The hw is the main focus to help for the exam. The exams weren't too bad and he gives a bunch of easy extra credit opportunities. The final is optional if you already have a grade you like.
