Good teacher.

Love this teacher. He is like the geek type of teacher. He also looks like a nerd and acts like a nerd. He is awesome. He is easy, but have to study in order to pass class. Highly recommend this class. I love the group work he makes us do. Overall this professor is great.

He gives many extra credit, and he is nice.just a little more homework, but i like him.

He is great! He explains everything really clearly, offers extra credit works, and comes to class well prepared. He responses emails next day or same day (fast response). I can't complain about him at all. He is just great! Take his class. Whatever he tells students is very useful in our life and unforgettable. Highly recommend :)

Jeff is a GREAT instructor! He publishes his instructor notes before class, as well as cheat sheets and tech support notes. He writes down what we will be doing in class on the board before class, and his tests are very much like the homework which is from the textbook. He gives students the maximum benefit of the doubt on grading. GREAT TEACHER!

Jeff is the best teacher I have ever had. I was in his Statistics class. He gives you notes before class so you can bring them and not have to worry about scribbling everything down. He starts by writing what we are going to do on the board and then follows it. If you have a question he explains until you get it. Self-confessed nerd and funny too.

Jeff is a great teacher. Has great organization skills. Notes are always available. His homework assignments are concise to the point you dont have to work on the entire section just the relevant sections. His grading is fair and he gives out a ton of extra credit! Overall he is AWESOME!

Best teacher I've ever took. He keeps everyone up too speed. The exams will be hard if you do not study. He is very helpful and sets aside time after class to make sure everyone is on the same page. Love this teacher.

I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, esp. to someone who has had a hard time in math in the past, like I have. I've gotten such a better understanding of math.

Beth Math teach I've had in my entire life. Funny guy, makes class interesting even if you're not interested in topic. Great notes, stays after class to explain things to you, takes time to make sure you know the topic. A great asset to the school. took him for Statistics. If you have to take this class, this is the guy to take it with.

Best math teacher ever!He is very timely in uploading grades and notes.He will help you any way he can to aid you in passing the class. He provides easy extra-credit,in-class participation points,etc.The homework is easy because he gives you weeks to complete it.There are no surprises on the exams!Don't be afraid to ask questions if you're lost!

Jeff is the first professor that I have had since returning to school that actually TEACHES. What a concept! He writes his own notes and explains the relevance of algebra in ways that we are able to grasp. Attendance is not mandatory but you get easy points for being present. He is the perfect professor for a student who is a math-a-phobe! No Book.

Jeff is the best teacher I've had. If you attend class regularly and follow directions, there is no way you will fail his class. He is super clear and concise. He also makes class very interesting with his side stories and his good sense of humor.

I've only been in the class 4 weeks now, but I can honestly say Jeff is the best math teacher I've ever had. He's amazingly clear, makes you feel like you can always ask questions, uses positive reinforcement, and is a very smart helpful guy. I've been a mathphobe since grade school, but I'm actually enjoying math for the first time in my life.

He is extremely helpful, he rearranges the syllabus if he feels as if he hasn't been clear enough about a section and throws out the ones that we don't have time for. Encourages to meet him during office hours for extra help. Very funny, his tests always have a question like "what's your favorite movie (2 points)" Clear, enthusiastic, funny, dorky.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Has a good teaching style that makes everything clear, is extremely helpful, and is very professional. Writes his own notes and has them available online, does not require the book or even for you to go to class. Likes math a lot and tries to make the class interesting with observations and problems.

I am terrible when it comes to Math so I was a little nervous coming into this class. However Mr.Swigart sure has a passion for what he does and he will NOT let you fail he does anything in his power to help you pass his grade consisted of a short presentation, quizzes, and 3 exams.

Best math class I have taken. He has great teaching methods and is willing to help anyone who does not understand something. His tests are usually made up of problems similar to those in the notes. He gives homework problems for whoever wants them as practice but it is not required. Highly recommended.

I took Math 99 with Jeffrey after dropping it twice with two different professors. Math was never a subject that I felt fond of but Jeff made it fun, and clear to understand. I know people who have dropped, and even failed Math because they did not understand the material from the prof. Take Jeff if you did! You won't regret it.

He is very helpful and wants you to pass. He is always looking out for students and wants each to succeed. If you pay attention and show up, you will do well.

Decent teacher. Lectures are feel rushed but are very concise and he gives tons of examples. Tests are based off online HW and weekly quizzes. You can fell behind quickly if you skip HW and quizzes otherwise class is a piece of cake even if you don't have a affinity for math.

He is by far The BEST teacher I have ever had. I took his math 98 class. I wish he was teaching 99 this semester. Maybe ill be able to get him again after 99. HE explains everything, he teaches very clear, and if you don't get it he is always willing to put in extra work to help each individual student !!!!

I have struggled my entire life with math and this professor has clarified many issues by simply being a good teacher. He is organized (especially with his board writing), approachable, professional and cares tremendously about his students. Expect to do work and be challenged, of course. I will take him again in a heartbeat if given the chance.

Jeff is an amazing professor. He is very lenient with extra credit, and he will do all that he can to make sure his students understand, pass his exams, and the class in general. He has a system in place where there is no way you wouldn't pass anyway. Just don't take him for granted and take advantage of the help he is willing to give you.

Prof Swigart was great! Math is my least favorite subject and definitely not my best. I went into 125 hoping that I would get a professor that is helpful, caring, and willing to work with me. Prof Jeff was just that! Whenever I had trouble and I reached out, he was always willing to help in any way possible. We used Aleks for our hw and quizzes.

Prof. Swigart is probably the sweetest man I know. He truly does want everyone to succeed in math and life. He's super flexible when it come to office hours and he's willing to stay late after class to help you. DO NOT hesitate to ask him for help. You might not even have to take notes since he already posts his own online for you. He's very sweet.

Professor Jeff, is an amazing professor who truly cares about his students. He is very passionate about his teaching. He makes it very possible to get into contact with him for any type of help. He is one of the first professors for math that actually got me to learn. I recommend him for any student who has difficulty with learning math.

I had Jeff for Math 99 and now 125 (online). In both classes, he has proven to be the most skilled, knowledgeable, and kind professor I've ever had. He is an extremely gifted communicator, committed to his students, and a fair grader. You must earn your grade, but he is there every step of the way to make sure you learn and understand.

I took Professor Swigarts Statistic course online and I loved it. He is very easy to reach and willing to work one on one. I did not use any of the materials for this course other than a calculator and the Aleks code. Take notes of equations on Aleks (helps with quizzes and everything) and TAKE PRACTICE TEST AS MANY TIMES POSSIBLE!!!

4 Exams. Lots of Webassign homeworks. Practice, practice, and practice. As long as you practice the problems, you will do well on the exams.

Professor Swigart is an excellent math professor. He is extremely passionate about his job and cares about all of his students. I highly recommend students to take him especially for Calc I. His teaching techniques are great. Much likely if you do all work you will get a good grade and not only that your math skills will highly improve.

Most of work is done within an online learning portal. Interesting weekly discussion topics. Instructor is easy to reach and gives students access to lots of resources via dropbox, including handouts and videos he makes explaining student requested topics as well as links to outside tutorials.

Had him online and the course itself wasn't the easiest, but he was very helpful and also easily accessible. Very straightforward on how things were graded, which was mostly automatic on MyStatLab. Aside from that, there were only 4 (easy) discussion boards.

Hated math and actually dreaded taking this course. It was not bad at all. You'll use MyStatLab is great for learning how to work the problems. 4 tests (2 proctored), hw assignment every week. Gives some opportunities for extra credit. The professor is engaged and is always willing to help. Do your homework and you'll do fine! (I did!)

Jeff really wants you to pass his class. You definitely have to work, especially for calculus, but he is a fantastic prof and will work hard to help you understand the material. As well as being a talented math teacher, Jeff is a kind and caring person who somehow managed to make even calculus entertaining.

Insanely amazing professor. He builds up foundations of specific topics very well and prioritizes learning. His teaching philosophy is fantastic. He starts off slow, builds up the idea then ties everything together before attacking difficult problems. I couldnt believe that I was looking forward to studying Calculus. Amazing professor!

Amazing professor! Took stats before and had to drop. Took it again online, and wow, what an improvement. With Jeff leading the course, I got an A and learned so much more as well. He cares so much about his students and puts in lots of effort into his class. My Stat lab, discussions, lots of homework, but all doable. Great guy and great experience

It was very clear what Jeff expected from his students. The work load was reasonable, discussion boards related to real world problems, and he offered extra credit. This professor was also great with responding fast to his students. The quizzes are your study guides and you get to have a formula sheet when testing.

Jeff is an amazing professor. He's very kind, inspirational and caring. You won't even have to write notes as he will share all the notes with you on blackboard. Very flexible with deadlines. His lectures are fun. You will learn a lot in this class if you pay attention. He's a great person.

I advise everyone to take either Stats 125 or Calc. 1 with this professor. He is amazing and GREAT at explaining math! You will definetely pass if you study hard and understand the concept behind math problems. Taking an online class was not a regret and I am happy that I took it! Professor is very accessible whenever you have questions!!

I took Professor Swigart's online class Spring 2018. He set the class up for success with the timeline, homework and quiz schedule. He explains and offers extra credit.

I love him! He was such a great teacher he use to alway say hes laying a careful foundation which he did I really wished he taught calc 2 Im going to miss him anyone would be happy taking his class!

Professor Jeff took calculus and made it accessible with his down to earth explanations and sense of humor. He is more than willing to work with you and make sure you understand the material. His tests are tough but fair. He always gives a study guide a week prior to the exam. His grading criteria is clear and he is very accessible after class.

This guy is awesome. Actually breaks down calculus little by little so you can understand it better. Makes the class easy to pass by making the exams easier than the homework. Easy graded and not test heavy.

Great teacher with great teaching methods! The only thing I did not like about this course was that test were worth MORE THAN HALF my grade. Homework wasn't worth a big percentage of your grade, so you could not do the homework and still ace the class. On the other hand if you work hard on homework, be ready for it count for little to nothing.

Due to COVID-19 this class was online. Prof. Swigart made learning statistics remotely, easy. Gives multiple chances for homework, quizzes and tests. Also offers plentiy of educational tools and resources outside of textbook. Also offers extra credit and wants to hear your feedback. Highly reccommend his class!

I found the class to be very informational and engaging. His lectures are clear and to the point. He also allows redos for quizzes and exams are not as tough. Very laid back as long as you don't take advantage. Highly recommend!

I'll write more later but he's a real gem. Easily one of the best teachers at the school. He's one of the good ones, the very good ones.

This is by far the best course I've ever taken, it's carefully constructed in a way that's set up for you to succeed. I have ADHD and I've always struggled with math and time management. I never feel lost or behind in this course because of the amount of resources and flexibility Prof Jeff has given us. I wish all my courses were set up like this.

I am very pleased with my experience taking calculus with Professor Swigart. I passed with an A because he did everything he could until the very last day to help his students understand the concepts and complete the assignments. 5/5!

I took math 107 with Prof Jeff, he is amazing. As far as I knew attendance wasn't mandatory and the classes were amazing with the professor explaining step by step the math problems with MyOpenMath which was very helpful. homeworks don't have a specific due date so if you're lazy it'll be hard to coordinate and finish on time

Professor Swigart has made calculus a breeze and is a fantastic teacher. Class attendance is optional outside of exam days, and he uses MyOpenMath for homework and quizzes. He's very accessible outside of class and is always quite engaging, caring, and funny during classes. His exams are solid, but only include questions he's gone over in class.

Jeff is an awesome guy and great professor. Made me feel a lot more confident in an otherwise difficult course, it felt okay to make mistakes in this class! A lot of STEM classes are very somber, but he made class fun and engaging. Graded things in a way that was fair, he really wants to see all his students succeed and he helps make it happen!

He's the best math teacher I've ever had. I'm glad I took him instead of going to university. I've struggled with math for years!! Digital book, there's homework, quizzes, and tests, but he cares for his students to the point that he will do whatever it takes for them to pass. You won't find a professor like him EVER! I absolutely loved this class and would definitely take a class with him again. We used the MyOpenMath portal for everything. Highly recommend! Loved that he also had extra videos of recorded lectures going through example homework problems and explained things in a way that made it so much easier to understand. 10/10 great professor
