His classes are difficult in that there is a ton of material, lots of notes, and lots of reading, and only a couple of tests worth very few points. You cannot ever screw up or you lose your A. But he does grade on the curve, and he is very cool in class.

If the others were like him, everyone would go to college. He has a lot of stories and a good ability to explain. The highlight of his class was when he asked us to stereotype him, and he wasn't even offended when we reached 11 people thinking he smoked weed. He grades on a curve. Take his class.

Wachsmuth is one of the more interesting instructors i have encountered. you enjoy the classes becuase he introduces the information in a non-lecture format and makes it apparent to you in a way that is easy to remember. his tests arent hard if you pay attention and the class is a good environment to be in every time you walk in.

Dr. W is a cool guy who is very laid back and funny. He says a lot of entertaining stuff while teaching you what you need to learn. Tests were fairly difficult but if you show up and pay attention you will do well. I recommend him highly.

He was a good teacher just make sure to read the text book as well, you could probably get by with a low B high C just by the notes. I took two of his courses and thought he was very attractive, loved his bald head! And he is hilarious!

Your grade is ONLY based on his exams. all exam questions are mostly off of his lectures but some are from the textbook so MAKE SURE YOU READ FROM THE TEXTBOOK even though there's like 2-4 textbook questions on each exam. One of the best professors at the college. The lectures are so interesting that during weekends, I miss his lectures. It sounds crazy, but it's true. I recommend reading the textbook if you want to get an A, but you could get a slightly lower grade without reading. Honestly, his lectures are comparable to stand-up comedy.

By FAR the BEST teacher at NVC! His classes are fun, but not interactive and group time. No, fun in the way of making jokes and telling funny stories. His classes can be challenging if you don't keep up with the material though. You can get by w/o the txtbook, but you will want to at least skim the material in it before taking the tests.

Hands down, one of the greatest professors on the campus. Seriously. He knows how to really engage with the students by occasionally cracking jokes. Respectful, collective, and clear on the material he covers in lecture. This class = a must for auditory based learners and attendance is a must to pass. What more can I say? 120 is a course that covers a lot of material. I agree, this class is very amusing and if studied, will earn a grade at least an average grade or above. However, this class requires a lot of studying from lectures and notes. I would not recommend this to those who have busy schedule. Grade are mainly based on test scores and you only get 4.

His Human Sexuality class very informative. I've learn so much more than the credit I was given for my grade. This class involves a lot of studying like all his other classes from the book, lecture, and readings he assigns for his tests. Warning, he does assign papers, but they are only one paragraph to a page long.

4 tests (equally weighted, none dropped); great and humorous lectures; short writing assignments (in Human Sexuality and Theories of Personality, but not in General Psychology at least not back in the day). Take all of his classes. If you can only take one, go for Theories--the best non-film course I've taken.

I have taken every single class he teaches at Napa aside from psych 120. He is the main reason I became a psychology major. You wont regret taking him. Just do it.

Take good notes! His lectures are 100% on the tests (multiple choice) +essay. He also throws in a few questions from the book, so skim through that as well. Jeff doesn't provide you with a printed study guide, but he basically tells you what to expect on the test the meeting before the exam so do NOT miss it! No final, just 5 tests!

Be prepared to read!! This class was definitely something I could take over and over again. You only have a few quizzes so make sure you study to get the grade you want! Show up to class, it truly matters. He is constantly making sure that his students are understanding what he's teaching. AMAZING CLASS!!

Great teacher one of my favorites at NVC. His classes are always fun and entertaining, he makes sure everyone understand the material. For Psych 120 the whole grade is based off of tests as well as for Psych 135 but 10% are 1-2 page essays. Simple and easy to understand just come to class, read and study.

I have to say, he made me want to switch majors, and further my skills in psychology. Mind you, I am a computer science major and am quite far in the field. He's really quirky and weird but he's really funny and passionate about what he does. Don't miss class, unless it's an emergency and you have a buddy. His tests are primarily based on lectures.

The thing I appreciate about Mr. Wachsmuth is that he is very clear. He clarifies almost every sentence he speaks to ensure everybody understands. Also, he keeps his lectures very interesting with his real life examples. Mr. Wachsmuth's class is not easy, but he is very clear on what he wants. You won't do well by only taking notes. You must read.

Straight-forward grading with 5 equally weighted tests. No homework! Most test questions are from lecture, so don't miss class. Textbook is essential even if only 2-3 questions will be from it. He's very clear and willing to repeat things. His stories make lectures memorable. Has an eccentric sense of humor but that's what makes him attractive. :)

This class was great! Wachsmuth is really entertaining and make the lectures enjoyable. Which is good because 5 exams make up 100% of your grade. With adequate studying and class attendance, you'll be fine!

Dr. Wachsmuth is not only an amazing teacher, but the best psychology teacher, in my opinion, that Napa Valley College has to offer. Clear material is presented, as well as tests and written assignments are cut and dry. As long as you are present in class, keep up with notes and course reading, you will find this class worthwhile.

5 tests total. No accumulative final which is nice. Meaning the 5th test is the "final." Take good notes and you'll have to read some of the book so you'll pass the tests. The chapters are about 40pg but he does an ok job at going over what material you should focus in the book and what you shouldn't before a test.

He is very enthusiastic about his lectures. Every day was a great day in that class. 5 exams and the final was non cumulative. Very clear speaker and took the time to make sure everyone understood his lectures.

If you come to class and pay attention there is no way you can fail. I learned so much from this teacher. Would love to take his class again.

You really don't need to read for his class. His tests are 30 questions and I only missed like 3 questions that were from the book because I didn't bother reading and still got an A for the whole class.

He is a nice genius (joke from class) but he really is. He keeps it simple and entertaining in class! You do have to go to class but he makes it so fun it's always worthwhile going. You don't have to read the textbook, but it doesn't hurt. His class is a bit difficult but super worthwhile. He's also just super adorable.

He is extremely devoted, intelligent, and charismatic. You do have to show up everyday if you want to do well on the tests, but he makes it worth it because he's so funny. He treats all of his students with respect and presents the material very clearly. To be honest, Wachsmuth totally resurrected my interest in the field.

I've taken both gen psych 120 & human sexuality 135 with him and he's easily become one of my favorite professors. Attendance is REQUIRED! He is heavily lecture based but that's what makes his class good especially if you like handwriting notes and are an audio learner. Class is interesting and fun. Books are required by him but I never used them.

I literally never read the book. His lectures cover 90% of the exams and I've gotten an A on every one. No powerpoints, no canvas, just topics written on the whiteboard, so take thorough notes. He always asks if the class has questions or if he was being clear. You can tell he really cares. Plus he's funny.

I wish I could take more classes with him! He definitely cares about you learning. He gives a lot of examples which helps you understand the concepts. My brother and I enjoyed taking his class. GO TO CLASS, your notes are everything. I recorded the lectures so I can listen to them later in the week.

I love his class! His lectures are so engaging and he is so helpful. I definitely recommend taking his class because he makes the material clear and he states it in ways that students can easily understand. There are only 5 grades in the class but as long as you do the reading and COME AND PAY ATTENTION to class, you'll be fine.

I learned so much from him. He has never has cancelled class and I never wanted to skip. Just four tests, and some short papers in sexuality and theories. Five tests and no papers in gen psych. Lectures are clear and easy to follow. He's also super sweet, nerdy, and quirky. If you study, read, and show up everyday, you'll at least get a B.

Best professor on campus by FAR. No hw, 5 exams, makes it clear what's going to be on those exams. Dr. Wachsmuth is very fun and serious about his classes. Makes it very clear what he expects of his class. Makes psychology easy to understand. Make sure you have your textbook since half the stuff on the exams is textbook material.

Really makes lectures interesting and entertaining. He explains concepts really well and with humility. Asks the class often &quot;does that make sense? did I explain that ok?&quot; Gives great examples. Responds to questions and comments in ways that make you feel valid and eager to participate again. Funny and relatable dude! 10/10 would recommend.

Wachsmuth is such a great Professor! He is very clear about the grading schedule is very organized when it comes to teaching/ lectures. Hes NOT an all over the place Professor and always stays on course. Makes taking his class enjoyable especially because he uses humor!

This man is a true gem. I looked forward to his lectures every school day. Just pay attention while he's talking and take clear notes. Participation is not required. It's completely up to you whether or not you want to succeed in his class. You'll do that by paying attention and showing up each day. His tests seemed 70% lecture, 30% textbook

This man is the second greatest teacher I have ever had. I learned so much because the way he taught was through real life examples that stuck. He's very clear and stays on track with the syllabus. Test were 80% lecture and 20% textbook. I would suggest not skipping class because it will be hard to catch up again.

I took him as an 8 week course and was amazing! The class was practically based on the textbook then took a quiz every week. Love how fast paced and straight forward the class was. Definitely recommend taking him.

Wachsmuth made his lectures so enjoyable! If he taught other courses, I would take it just to be in his class. He really made the class fun, and his exams are very straightforward. 5 non-cumulative exams the entire semester, and they're based on lectures and textbook readings. If you skip class, you'll miss valuable information and a fun time.

This class is very fast-paced and you are graded by quizzes. You definitely need to take time out of your day to read the textbook and study for the weekly quizzes. He is a very nice person and will answer any questions you have if you contact him.

Your grade is only made up of the chapter quizzes and 2 online assignments from the online textbook; those are worth 1-2 points. You will have to read a lot! Roughly 2 ch/per week. I appreciate Mr. Wachsmuth posting short audios, giving an overview of the week. The best part was that he created weekly study guides of how your notes should look!

I highly recommend taking this online class if you need this class as a requirement. I was worried about taking an accelerated class but his class was very organized with weekly outline audios, readings, quizzes and study guides. Minimal homework, grade is dependent on quiz scores, so as long as you read and study you will do well.

This was on of the best classes Ive taken in the 6 semesters at NVC . Quick to get back to emails. I messed up my hand and missed a quiz and he gave me a few days AFTER the due date to make it up and I lost no points. It is a lot of reading but he puts up study guides which give you a better idea on whats on the quizzes and we had NO TEST.

He was was helpful and understanding.

I was nervous taking an accelerated psych could but this professor made it tolerable and easier than i was expecting. we cover 2 chapters each week and then we take a test. there are also little side activities that you have to complete that add a couple points here and there. overall, highly satisfied with the course, highly recommend taking.

I took accelerated Psych-120 online. Although I never met professor Wachsmuth in person, he was super kind over email and always answered all my questions. The course was about 80 pages of textbook per week and one open-note quiz. There wasn't even a cumulative final- just another weekly quiz. Lots of reading, but easy otherwise. Def recommend.

I enjoyed this class and learned many things I can apply to my everyday life. The majority of your grade heavily relies on the weekly tests. The tests aren't hard but can be time-consuming. The study guides and command f helped me earn an A. Overall, I recommend this class because it's interesting and the work is straightforward.

Although I never met Professor Wachsmuth in person and only learned the whole entire course online, I can definitely say that he is a really great professor! I learned a lot of things that I can apply in my daily life and I'm honestly really thankful that I took this subject. I will for sure take another Psych class because of this!

I enjoyed his class very much. He is there for any questions or concerns you may have and his lectures and assignments are pretty straight-forward. I would recommend his class to anybody and if he has any other classes in the future, then I'd love to take it. Thank you Professor!

Professor Wachsmuth's class was really engaging. His lectures were super clear, and he provided great study tools like weekly guides. The workload was manageable - lots of reading, but unstuck AI really helped with efficient study prep.

The material was very easy to understand especially in the class room he's always available after class to further assist and is very reasonable / understanding also very funny would definitely take his class over there is a lot of reading for the study guides tho but everything is straight forward

This class was both engaging and highly informative. The instructor has a natural talent for teaching and could easily excel at a much higher level, which made the experience feel like a rare opportunity. I genuinely wish the course had continued longer, as it was both enjoyable and enriching.

Genuinely the best class I've ever taken at this joyless college. Such a knowledgable and humorous professor. I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone who doesn't enjoy reading or quizzing, however he makes it fun all while remaining very professional.

super easy class! only an 8 week course, so a lot of the course was crammed into one another. if you do the work and study you'll pass this class with a breeze. super flexible and understanding. would recommend taking this class if needed!
