I liked taking Jefferson Fernandes's Linux operating systems online class. It is relatively easy and you learn a lot from the class. There is an online group discussion that you can use to get any questions answered. His jokes are funny and he makes this course worthwhile. He even offers extra credit.

Jefferson really helps you when need, the material is hard but doable you just need to stay up to date with the assingments.

Has a clear layout in which he assigns you homework, a quiz, and a chapter to read each week. Everything is off the book so it is mandatory to get one but as long as you are someone who has no issues reading alone, and self-studying alone this class is not hard at all. I enjoyed it a lot and wish he taught the intermediate level of this course.

He is a good professor, but he is not always there to attend to you when it is not his class time. Due to faculty meeting he always attends. But whenever he has the time to attend to you, he do it to clarity.

He's definitely e kind of teacher I wish I could have for all my classes. Gives a syllabus at the beginning, go at your own pace and finish the assignments by the end of the semester. Most of the semester was teaching myself (which I like) but he starts the class with student questions and goes over each one.

You can essentially do this course at your own pace. Online redhat academy was helpful in giving guidance in the labs. Once you figure out how to connect in the lab, you're good. Any other questions could be looked up or Professor Fernandes is accesible via email.

My class was online CIT-268 . professor is really helpful.

The class is really straight forward. The commands you input can be tedious but what helped was printing out the labs. If you have any trouble just ask what you may be doing wrong. Make sure to screenshot your work to be able to see what it is what you may be doing wrong. Good luck!

This class gave a comprehensive overview of Linux /Redhat. Somewhat hard but manageable for someone that has never taken an operating system class. The online syllabus keep you on track and is very organized. Although this was a web based course, the Professor still responded to inquiries very timely.

This class was one of my tougher classes but the professor makes it more enjoyable and allows the chance to improve.

Professors make it easy with their summaries for each chapter. The course is not challenging itself as long as you spend time reading the chapter (or at least reading the professor's notes) and practicing the lab.

By far one the best professor at BHCC!! The way he is so passionate about teaching and how patient he is with all the student, Professor Fernandes teaching style is so clear and easy to understand! He offers great resources to help you stand up from others once you finish his class. Hats off for this professor just because he is the BEST!

Professor Jefferson Fernandes is hands down one of the best instructors I've had. He explains the material clearly, keeps the class focused, and makes even the more technical concepts feel manageable. His ability to connect with students, he's approachable, patient, and genuinely wants you to succeed.

I'd taken this class with another professor and thought I didn't like programming. It turns out I love it. This professor offers a lot of insights for job hunting as well as grad work, and he's generous with extra resources to help you go beyond the book.

Reading material and reading lab or program preference before class helps a lot. Definitely would take his class again.

In my opinion Prof. Fernandes likes to give you and your peers a chance to overcome obstacles on your own but will step in if he must. That helped me learn to communicate a problem and find a solution while working on a team.

I enjoyed this professor and class! What I think I enjoyed the most was for the first 3-4 weeks we got videos that we could watch to follow along with our labs ... however that it stopped :( . I felt like this professor was a wonderful guide even aside from the lack of videos.

If help is needed, he is willing to meet during office hours if you request it. Thanks, Professor.

He is a good professor

Professor Jefferson Fernandes is an amazing teacher. His classes are always clear, organized, and easy to follow. He explains everything in a way that makes learning enjoyable and less stressful. This is my second class with him, and I would definitely take another one if I could. He truly cares about his students and helps us succeed.

He is an excellent professor; he explains things very well if you don't understand something, and his classes and materials are easy to understand. He is also available if you have any questions.

CIT-270 is harder than CIT-268, but professor can describe and explain like it's easy!
