I really liked his class except they were somewhat boring at times because you mainly copy things off of an overhead. They all come from the book though so just study the book and use the cd the book comes with and you'll be fine. Funny guy

Good teacher, if you are having troubles feel free to go see him, he is more than willing to work with you. Makes going to an 8:00 class something to look forward to instead of dread. Never had an easier time in a subject that is so hard.

IN LOVE WITH BOWEN. He is sooo funny, i absolutely love him, and I am so sad he doesnt teach BI 122 cuz i would def take him. He has the humor, understanding, and intelligence. I LOVE HIM.. i want to find another class he teaches.. thats how good this man is.

Prof Bowen is awesome..I was scared to take Bio but he made it enjoyable.. He finds a way to teach bio and makes u laugh with funny little comments..he is always in a pleasant mood and just an overall great professor..

Words do not express how great this man is seriously, he is the nicest, funniest, most understanding professor I've EVER had. He is absolutely amazing, and I would recommend him for ANY science class you need to take. Hands down. U need to pay attention, but he's always there for u. Amazing man.

i loved dr.bowen. the tests are pretty hard but as long as you know the study guide and go over his slides with the book- you'll do fine. he is by far the nicest professor i have had.

I LOVE THIS MAN!!! I'm taking a summer class with him, and he let me bring my dog to class one day! I have a big dog too! He is awesome, class is fun, tests are difficult, but some of his answers to the mulitple chose questions make you laugh out loud. Take him if you can! I'm not even a science major, but I would take a class with him again!!!

Great professor, you need to do the work, but probly one of the best teachers to take for a class like this. Funny guy, makes things fun in class. Has open discussions and lets you voice your opinion every now and then.

Really awesome guy likes to joke around..His tests are kinda hard but if you take good notes and pay attention you should do fine. If you like cancer cell research this is the gys to talk to. I would take his class again in a heart beat.

Prof. Bowen is an awesome teacher! He's funny and laid back and doesn't drag out class. He's very easy to get along with and has no problem helping anyone who needs it. His tests are easy. He just recieved an award for being the outstanding teacher of the year or something. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Amazing teacher. The tests a relatively reason, you just need to study. The book is essential for the tests in my opinion. He really enjoys what he does, and he wants everyone do to well.

I just love him..... If you would like to make fun of your classmates sometimes, don't worry he'll do it for you. He always has jokes and makes going to class something you actually want to do. Expects you to learn and apply what he teaches you, but it's worth it.

Dr. Bowen is the best Professor I have, hands down. If you need to take a Bio class, take his. I wish he taught 122!

Coming from a solid background in Biology, this course was quite easy. Dr. Bowen does explain material quite well, through daily PowerPoint presentations of diagrams. One assignment is given on the first day on the syllabus, but due in late November. He has a great sense of humor! Highly recommended!

Dr.Bowen is the absolute MAN! He is the funniest professor/teacher i have ever had. He makes the boring parts of biology vry interesting. He makes innappropriate jokes all the time but it isnt unprofessional. He is lenient on days you miss IF your really sick. DONT BUY THE BOOK!!!!!

Dr. Bowen is by far the best professor I've had. He's really entertaining, very helpful, makes the tough stuff easier to understand. Tests are hard, but this is Biology, you have to put in the time to study. I definately recommend taking him, you won't regret it!

I truly believe Bowen is one of BSU's treasures and you're doing yourself an injustice, especially if you're a Bio major, if you do not take as many courses with him as you can. He's a great professor in every sense possible and if you put in the effort that you should you will be amazed at the depth of learning and understanding you can achieve!

Bowen is probably one of the better professors I have had at BSU. He is nice and easy to understand. He only puts on the exam what he went over, and he is always willing to help study

Bowen's methods were exceptional. He lectured, gave you a rubric and on only quizzed you on the guides he handed out. It was pretty cut and dry and he still managed to make the class very fun. Hard to fail his course.

Dr. Bowen is a great professor! He really cares about his students and how well they are doing. If you have a question with something he will be more than happy to answer and explain it. Study and do the homework Overall the course isn't too hard, but make sure you study for the exams. He only puts the content that was covered in class on the exams

Dr. Bowen is a really funny teacher who really cares about his students. His office is always open to come in and ask for help. Lectures have lots of humor and jokes built in to make the material more interesting, and his research experience allows him to provide an interesting perspective on the topic. Make sure you don't miss class though!

Prof. Bowen honestly is an amazing guy with a lot of great things to say. Even though he's awesome his BIO121 class was really hard. If you put the time and effort into learning the material you will be fine but don't expect to pass if you don't 1) show up or 2) study.

Dr. Bowen is absolutely awesome!! He's one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of having in class. He makes lectures as fun as possible. He cracks jokes and he explains things in a manner that makes them easier to understand. He does give unexpected pop quizzes but as long as you are there for them you get credit. Awesome teacher!

His course is not hard, if you go over the notes you took in class and go to the book for help Study with other people from the class, that helps. He's really fair, just take his advices into consideration. No need for the in class but its to have it it helps. You get to miss free days but make sure to get you from a good taker.

Dr. Bowen is a really nice guy and tries to make lecture interesting by cracking jokes here and there, even with him as a professor this class you have to work for the grade because theres a lot of material that can be tough and overwhelming so stay on top of the work

Best professor I have had coming back to in-person learning. He is super funny and is always cracking jokes left and right. The class was very interesting and I looked forward to being in his class every time. He lectures using a PowerPoint to follow. Quizzes and Exams are very similar to practice ones on BlackBoard. Show up and you'll pass easy.

I never go and write a review but prof but Dr. Bowen deserves a review! I am not a biology major but needed to take this as a requirement. He made the class so interesting and was hilarious. He is constantly making jokes and relating with the class. He is truly caring for his students and assignments are very easy with extra credit opportunities

Super accessible outside of class and will spend time making sure you know the material; he made it easy to really master the content, but honestly he is just the sweetest human being ever and I wish he taught every bio course ! !

Professor Bowen is for sure a hidden gem within the Science department. He is very funny, loves making jokes. His PowerPoints are very simple to follow with, relates back to the study guide(s), quizzes. He always makes a connection with his students. Pay attention and you'll be able to pass his class. Professor Bowen is THE professor to take for bio, especially if you aren't a fan of the subject. Dr. Bowen is an amazing professor! I had him for BIO100 and I took this class just to have another class with him. Every lecture is so interesting and he makes lots of jokes. Do the study guides and you will be fine!

Dr. Bowen is the best! He gives you the blank slides ahead of time so you can print them. I find this really helpful so you can label the diagrams and not have to draw complex diagrams. He starts with the same blank slides and fills them in as he goes so it is not hard to follow along. He teaches in a way that you are learning, and not memorizing.

Pretty lecture heavy so attendance matters. He is really nice and has answered my e-mails pretty quickly. He makes lectures less boring by cracking jokes. If you use the textbook and notes from class, pretty easy grade. Study!!

I loved Dr.Bowen, genuinely my favorite professor at BSU. He truly cares for his students, and offers a lot of extra credit on exams. As long as you show up to lecture, somewhat pay attention, and USE THE STUDY GUIDES, you will have no problem getting an A in this class. Would take it again if I could. Great man

10/10 professor. So funny and engaging during lectures. While attendance was not mandatory, he would gives pop quizzes (super easy). He is very understanding that you have a life outside of school. He gives study guides that are the exact questions that are on the tests.

Took him as someone who normally hates science classes. It was pretty chill, take notes and there's no reason you won't do well. Tries to make lectures funny. Bunch of mini quizzes, 4 tests and he drops the lowest one (grade replaced by the average of other three). Attendance not required but if you don't have a friend to give u notes you'll fail.

Bowen is super caring and down to earth with his students. 128 was one of the easiest classes I've had and he makes his lectures fun and lighthearted. Very kind and fun professor!!

This class is super easy if you pay attention. He is not a tough grader at all when it comes to quizzes (which are short assignments you can mainly do at home). He will call you out if you are on your phone. Very understanding of non-bio lab majors and will explain concepts in further detail.

Great Professor, brings humor into the class to make it fun. Does about 3 Exams which are kind of difficult but if you study and pay attention you'll be okay. Definitely would take again.

He was by far my fav professor of the semester. I came into this class not loving bio, and I come out of it loving it. He made lectures funny, and engaging, and he explained everything very well. Workload consists of about 15 mini take-home quizzes, and 3 exams, which he provides study guides for. He was amazing & I 100% recommend taking class!
