Although it was his first time teaching this subject he made a difficult topic more understandable. I would recommend linear algebra with him.

I read all the negative comments, & honestly I have no idea they would say that. I got an A just by studying the review sheet and lab helped as well, but we are supposed to go the lab for help & clarity. He is easy as long as you take notes and study review sheets. If you try, I promiss you wont fail. I am a COOPER fan!

He is an EASY teacher . I hate math ! I took his class on a third attempt. He gives quizes every class but they are only two questions and thats just to make sure you understand. ITS FOR YOUR BENFET. Yes, you have to study for this class... its math! He is nice, I would take him for intermediate algebra next.

this is one of those misunderstood teachers. u can tell that he has a hard life. but he is a very good teacher. he explains everything. his tests would have u screaming. he is very good he just not bubbly like all those other fake teachers. hes real

he is a teacher who knows what he is doing. all a student has to do is being focused and prepared by reading the textbook before coming to class and do their homeworks when they get home.

All the stuff I read here about him was wrong. he is a good professor ( for the label of math in the class). if you had a hard time understand trig & pre-calc you will have a hard time in calc I. MAC2311 is not MAT1033--- Mr Cooper doesnt have to explain elementary algebra; you MUST know it.

he is strict about everything, but if u there to learn something u will appreciate this.He is pretty fast and clear in explaining new materials, so if u are not fast enought, it might be hard for u to keep up. I personally loved his class, nice guy.

In highschool I failed math. I am currently an A+ student because I do all the homework and ask him for help. He is very fair- always warns you about future quizzes, and tells you what problems to focus on. He always asks the class if they have questions, and thoroughly answers everything. Math is either right or wrong- it's not him, it's you.

mr.cooper is nice. Don't miss class cus then u miss the notes, and u can fall behind. homework not mandatory, gives review sheet before test. Quizes are easy, most of the time just 2 ques. need to do mymath lab. Just take notes and practice the problems in the book, and u will pass his class. really good teacher!!

He is a cool guy. All you have to do is do your mymathlab trust me it can really help in improving your grade. Oh if you didnt do that all semester just a little secret he will open them back up but he will say he wont. A fairly easy class, I barely studied n got an A.

he is okay. I thought it was super easy... there is no way in the world u get an F unless ur a lazy bum... he gives a LOT of opportunities, a lot of quizzes which only have 2 questions, he drops like 3 quizzes, 1 test and 3 my math lab quizzes... so easy to pass... a little bit boring.

Cooper is a good professor. I had him for intermediate algebra. He has trouble controling his class most of the time. and his students tend to disrespect him alot. I only got a C because I failed the 4th test and did average on the final. I did good on the first 3 tests though. You have to really study for his class to get an A.

Mr. Cooper is nice, helpful, and pretty organized teacher. Subject is not the easiest, but understanable with his explanation. Did I mention cute?

Linear Algebra is a different way of thinking & this teacher is committed to making sure you understand if you are also committed. He tries not to move on until he knows the entire class gets it within reasonable time to cover all material. He's a little scratchy at times but knowledgeable when it comes to drawing connections between sections.

He is very helpful. He makes sure that all the students understand him in class before moving on. Very comfortable asking him questions. Test is nor hard as long as you pay attention in the class and do the homewok.

Linear algebra is not an easy course. I took it with Prof. Cooper and I thank God for that because now I am attending Linear Algebra II at FAU and I can understand clearly what my prof. is trying to explain to us, but my classmates seem confused.

After reading the comments i didnt want to take him for mat1033, but to my surprise his class was actually very good. I am the WORST at math. Seriously. and i still managed to pass. He's really helpful. I'd recommend him. Ascendance is required. Mymathlab. Textbook. Study and do practice questions. 4 or 5 tests. Daily quizzes. Not too bad.

TAKE HIM FOR MAT1033... he is a really good professor he explains things clearly and as long as you go to class, do the home work ... u'll do well on his tests and quizzes.... well if u r a hard working student u'll get an A.. if your lazy well... u'll fail

Prof. Cooper is one of the best math teacher at Broward College. I truly recommend students to take him.

Excellent Math Professor. You can tell he is very knowledgeable in mathematics and is passionate about it. You must study because this is a difficult subject. Overall I would take him again.

This SUBJECT is HARD! I think this teacher does a very good job with a tough subject. Most things are out of his hands- ALEKS is a hardtime consuming homework program completed through the internet that is REQUIRED by the school for this class- not the teacher's fault. What the teacher can control-teaching us in class-he does a VERY good job at!

Four tests and a final. No quizzes and HW is not graded. However, you should definitely do the homework. It helps you understand and grasp the concepts taught in class. If you don't study, you won't pass. He is a very good professor, and willing to answer any questions you have. The pace is fast because of the content covered.

For being someone that isn't so great at math this professor helped me learn a lot. He broke problems down for us to learn easier and faster. ALEKS was very helpful through this course, this class was only once a week but doing work on ALEKS helped keep our mind fresh for the upcoming tests and quizzes. I recommend you take him just work hard!

This professor was okay. The negative: he taught math his own way, which made some subjects that I learned in high school seem much more complicated than what they really were and that was a bit stressful. Doesn't really explain well when you have a question, he'll basically just repeat what he just explained. Positive: takes his time demonstrating

Professor Cooper is awesome! He constantly gives grade updates and wise advice. I was so happy because math is not my strong point. I look back and see that if I didn't have professor Cooper encouraging me and pushing me I probably would have given up/ failed. He was in my corner, as well as the other students, every step of the way.#RealRecReal

Professor Cooper definitely knows his stuff! His grading criteria is clear and he makes himself available to help and answer questions. Take notes, do the homework, show up for class, and study! You'll pass!!

Professor Cooper wasn't exactly hard, he just went over the lectures very quickly so you have to follow along with him very closely. He gave many extra credit assignments, which was helpful. His test are a bit difficult, but once you do the homework you have a chance of passing his tests. Completing the homework on mylabsplus bc its worth a lot.

People mistake the subject being hard with him not being a good professor. What makes mad because I was never good in math and I pass with an A. You have to dedicate time practicing the equations and doing homework will help. He was really nice and organized. A+ for him!!!

The professor is genuinely not bad. I was nervous when I selected the class late and he was the only choice. He isnt too fast, the work is hard if youre not a math person. He will clarify if you dont understand during class or outside of class. He doesnt do lectures and will respond quickly to your emails. Also, attendance is extra credit!

So i read the reviews, and ya there's some truth there. He goes kinda fast and he's a little quirky and the my labs is insane. But coopers awesome, he's not like a buddy buddy guy but is what it is... the grading "formula" or wat not, was definitely to students advantage... and if you try and keep up and do the work you'll make it thru.

Good teacher, how he grades (details, but not super): homework on mylab, get least at 80% 10 quizzes and it will become annoying by how often they are, but you will know about them a week before// 5 problems per quiz will remove your 2 lowest quiz grade, and add your 2 highest grade to replace it 3 tests and your 10 quizzes will be added (so 4)

If you take the time to do the work and understand the material you will be fine, if you need help double check with him about officer hours he WILL spend the time on you, and help you if you are not a complete waste of life and willing to try. just like that.

I learned a lot from this professor. He was very clear on the lectures and he had a lot of office hours available via zoom and made it very accessible to ask him questions. I'm shocked he has low ratings. He gives you plenty of time to complete assignments. Uses ALEKS. Made me love math!! You can tell he really cares about his students.

He is not a bad professor and if you do your homework , you'll be able to pass the class !

honestly the best math class I ever took. He explained the material thoroughly assignments were understandable and easy in my opinion and I am THE WORST at math. very calm and sensible amongst the class there was very little anxiety for tests he helped a lot.

Professor Cooper is an amazing teacher! he literally wants you to pass. I took his class for statistics after failing it 2 times already. And passed with a B! He tries to make the test as easy as possible. Just be sure to study how to use the TI-84, come to class when he does the test review, and complete all of your homework, and you should pass.

Heavy on the homeworks just make sure to have time to do them because they are very challenging but the quizzes and tests are very easy and he also does test review the class before the test and literally goes over all test questions... he is the best!

I have never seen any professor so kind and passionate in teaching like him. All you need to do is attend the lectures and ask him any questions you have. He is not very good at explaining but his ways of teaching was cleared. I unexpected got an A in this class. His patient is over the roof. I would take his class again.

I don't why his rating is so low. Aside from Prof. Specter, he's the best! Literally goes over the questions that are going to be on the test and tells you how to do them on the calculator. By far the easiest math class I've taken and primarily because he made it easy.

great guy who genuinely wants you to learn ! a lot of students are put off by math and don't participate, but he clearly appreciates when you actually ask questions and answer his. homework is entirely online and you can do it as much as you want. not an "easy A" class but passable if you try even if you're not great at math

Must be prepared to work hard, do not skip lectures or you will be lost. He answers any questions you have, no excuse to be lost because he's very patient and willing to go over concepts repeatedly. If you work hard and keep up with stat lab you should pass. Study practice tests over and over. Participate in class and pay attention.

DONT SKIP THIS CLASS prof is chill and has great grading criteria but oh my god. do not skip this class. especially if math isn't your strongest subject. 99% of the class requires a $150 calculator and if you miss the lectures you'll have 0 idea whats going on. mylab won't help you. I'm crying my eyes out typing this. pay attention and don't skip

One of the best! The low rating is totally unfair. His grading scale is super clear, review sessions are on point, and he truly wants you to pass. You'd have to try hard to fail. He allows a formula sheet on tests, which helps a lot. If you show up and do the work, you'll be more than fine! You will have minimum C+! Fair and stress-free choice!

I think he's a good professor. I'm not very good at math, and still managed to get a B. He gives you similar practice questions to the tests, making it easy to pass them! I don't know why he has many bad reviews!

Very straightforward and clear expectations for work. I am typically not good at math but I found that if you apply yourself and do the HW, you will succeed! Pay attention to lectures, take notes, do HW on time, and study for tests! HW and quizzes (10) are due online and 4 tests in person. He drops your 3 lowest quiz grades and lowest test grade!

He's a great professor. He expects you to know basic algebra and moves fast, but he tells you what to focus on for quizzes/exams. Homework helps a lot to understand the concepts, and he gives fair partial credit if you show the right idea and effort. Do the work, pay attention in class, and you can definitely succeed with him.

This was my 2nd time taking this course because I failed it with a worse professor but he's better than her. I honestly had to teach myself how to do the problems, and he goes fast. No open notes nor any worksheet to help, need to memorize. 10 quizzes, 3 test + a final, he drops the lowest score. He's understanding/cool. He's a 50/50.
